She may be pissed off right now, but that doesn't mean that she's necessarily pissed off at you.
Well, it probably does, but running away from it would only make it worse.

"Hey Keiko!" you shout at the green puffball.
Her little ears perk up in the cutest manner as she looks up toward the two of you.

With a beaming smile, she drops her broom and happily hops over to you. You gently nudge the bird you're riding to a halt as Keiko happily skips in place, petting the side of the bird.

"Jack! And Food lady!"

You can barely hear it, but Madeleine is laughing near uncontrollably.

"Now now, Lass. Food lady prefers to be called Madeleine."
"Made-line.."
She looks around for a minute.

"So, um, where'd you go?"
"We went to the beach, wasn't there very long."

She seems put-out by that.
"Aw! You went to the beach and didn't tell me?"
"You didn't miss much, Lass. Except spiders, lots and lots of spiders this time of year. But hey, I can take you along next time if you want!"

She grips at her sleeves, kneading at the fabric.
"..m-maybe, yeah."

"Speaking of things that make the hairs of my neck walk the plank, Whats the deal with the Ice Fox?"
"Oh, Atsuko? I 'unno, she was really mad about something earlier."
"Well, Ye best return to yer duties, Lass. I think this is a storm I must weather myself."

She skips back toward the broom and hastens her sweeping. You on the other hand prefer to get something out of the way right now.
"Yo, Atsuko!"

The Lass freezes in her tracks, and turns to glare at you.

She storms over to where you're standing, but fortunately you're able to dismount the bird and help Madeleine off as well.
Madeleine seems to know what's coming from female instinct alone. She grabs her bags off the back of the bird and slithers away as far as possible before Atsuko manages to clear the distance to you.

Which is just as well, this is the sort of thing you've come to accept in recent times.

Without saying anything, she walks straight past you and starts inspecting the bird. First starting with its talons, lifting each one up at a time. Eventually making her way up to its beak, as she cautiously inspects the outer rim of its hardened chitin.

When she feels satisfied with her inspection, she breathes a sigh of relief before turning to you.
"Jack. What have I told you about taking Mimi out without asking me first?"
"I did ask you, Lass."

That only seems to make her more irritated. She rubs furiously at her ears for a second before returning to glare at you.
"Jack! I'm serious here! You've gone too far this time, you're grounded!"

You're... what?
"Don't smile at me like that, Jack! I'm serious this time! You don't get to use Mimi for anything else, are we clear!?"

The way she's trying to be serious while being so flustered only makes you smile even further.
"So what yer sayin' Lass," the corners of your mouth feel like they're going to loop all the way to your scalp "-is that you want me to be around here more?"

She doesn't say anything, only her fists clench into little balls.
Before this gets any nastier, Keiko decides to speak up.

Atsuko freezes in place, slowly turning to face Keiko.

"But, um!" The green foxgirl studders on her words, "Jack did ask something like that this morning, and you were like 'blah blah okay camille you can take Mimi' but Camille wasn't standing there! I was doing my best sleep impression so I didn't say anything." Keiko twists the handle of the broom as she speaks.

Atsuko turns to face you again, face still flustered.
"I'm still mad at you."

You're still reeling from being told that you're 'grounded'. You're trying to suppress your massive grin, but you feel part of it slipping through.

Wait, wait! There's another part of that which is equally hilarious!
"Suki?" You ask, "Where did that come from?"
Atsuko straightens out, "Nothing! Stop changing the subject!"
"No, no, Keiko, why dun' you tell us about that name?"

Atsuko starts violently shaking her head at Keiko, but Keiko clearly doesn't get the message and happily continues!
"When I was young, I couldn't say her name, so I just said that part of her name! At-Su-ko, Su-ko, Suki!"
Oh man, that's great.
"Anythin' else?"
"No! No! That's enough Keiko!"

Huh, someone just rang the shrine bell out front, but these two didn't seem to notice.
Keiko interrupts that train of thought, "She's really embarrassed of that name! But it's really cute!"
You walk over to Keiko and pat her ears, rubbing them gently.
"Yeah Suki," You say, big smile on your face, "It's really cute!"

With that, she runs and tackles you. Straddling your body as she weakly pounds at your chest.
"IT IS NOT CUTE, MY FAMILY CALLS ME THAT, KEIKO CALLS ME THAT, CAMILLE CALLED ME THAT FOR YEARS UNTIL I GOT HER TO STOP, DON'T YOU START TOO"

"Atsuko!" Keiko calls out, "It's a really cute name though!"

"Yeah 'Suki! It'sa really cute name!"

That's a new voice.

Atsuko and I look up from our prone position on the ground at the source of the new voice.
A very tall girl, with a blonde flowing tail that seems to meld with her long blonde hair, stands before us looking smug.
"Imma 'mazed Suki!" She says, with a big smile, "You founda man before I did! And ya' already went so far with him!"

Keiko's face is glowing, Atsuko's face matches her red sleeves, you feel a lingering desire to embarrass her.

Atsuko isn't saying anything, Keiko has dropped her broom, you continue to lay there struggling to contain your laughter.

Forget it, you're going to laugh and enjoy this for all that it's worth.

Through your laughter, you can hear Keiko squeal and jump into the new girl's arms.
"AKIKO!" The new girl grabs onto Keiko and spins her around in a circle before returning her hug.
"Aww, Keiko! How's my favorite niece doing?" She pats and rubs Keiko's scalp as Keiko's tail furiously wags about.

"A- A- A- A-" Atsuko struggles with her words.
"So!" The new girl says, with a smile, "wanna introduce me to ya new boyfriend?"

"Aw, well." You say, still struggling through laughs, "I'm terribly sorry miss, but I can't greet you properly. I've been grounded, you see."

Atsuko immediately goes back to pounding furiously on your chest with both hands. The new girl joins in on all the laughing.
Keiko lets go of her grasp around the girl's waist and points toward the pile of Atsuko and I.
"That's Jack! He's a hero!"
"A-"
The girl laughs to herself again, patting Keiko's head.

Atsuko, on the other hand, pounds on your chest a couple more times before getting off of you.
She stands up and tries to look dignified, "He's NOT my boyfriend!"
"Com'on Suki!" She says, with a toothy grin, "Don't be shy! You shouldbe proud!"

You keep laughing at this exchange, up until Atsuko puts her wooden shoe down onto your chest.

You grab onto Atsuko's tail as you're standing up to right yourself, something which causes her to kick you in the shin. Much to the new girl's amusement.

"I should introduce myse'f."
She walks over and, with her free hand, she pats you on the head.
Huh.

"Akiko Crostade" She smiles, "But ya can just call me 'Big Sis' like erryone else. Except m' actual sister that is." She stares at Atsuko with a grin.
"No! Shut up! If I don't call you that then he doesn't get to either!" Atsuko crosses her arms.
Akiko laughs, you extend your hand to her.

"Jack Albator, at your service."
"Charmin' lad! Glad my sis found such a handsome gent!"

"WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!" Atsuko is stomping her foot, now.
"Dun' be angry! Gonna be off, just came here to find Camille!"
"No, wait-"

Atsuko stomps over to Akiko, hugging her tightly.
"Just because you get on my nerves doesn't mean I don't want to see you. You went away for MONTHS and you only wrote me every month or so."
Akiko rubs her head, too. You're beginning to see a pattern here.

"Aw Sis', ya justa big softy."
"No I'm not!" She lets go and crosses her arms. "I just don't want you to go off on another three month hunting trip without saying anything!"

"It's almost noon, so she's probably getting drunk at the bar." Atsuko says, sighing.

"Well, I'm not going to interrupt your reunion any longer, but I need to be at the castle, I'll see you two around." You say, turning to leave the sisters behind.
"If you go, you're not taking Mimi!" Atsuko says, in a huff.
"Fine, I'll walk."

"'Ey, How 'bout we ride together to town?" Akiko says, rubbing Keiko's head some more. "I needa find Camille and the castles not that far away from it."

Town, huh? That certainly seems like a better compromise than walking.
Actually, when thinking about town, you feel this odd sense of foreboding.

Thursday I hope to start WAY EARLIER, LIke 5-6 hours earlier so I can end earlier as well. I have business to tend to on Friday so I was hoping to end the thread around 9PM CST. So if I start at around 12 CST or 1, I should have a nice, long, healthy thread in between.
