As we ride the escalator down to the lobby and then make for outside, I can't help but feel kind of out of place here. Charlotte and Gabrielle are both wearing their fancy dresses but here I am walking with them in my usual stuff and I'm sure that I really stand out as the odd one out.

Oh well, maybe I can do stuff with them some other day in my own dress...

I just kind of follow after them after the elevator opens up, as the massive difference in the scale of the worlds that we live in hits me right in the face. Gabrielle's lived with this kind of thing her entire life so I bet it's as common as anything for her, but this is really going to take some getting used to for me.

When we make it to the office that Charlotte's checkup is supposed to take place in, one of the nurses there tells me and Gabrielle that we have to stay back in the waiting room until the visit is over with. And despite Gabrielle's protesting that she's Charlotte's sister and that I'm her girlfriend (why the HELL is she going around blabbing about that), it's no use.

And so, Charlotte goes inside to get X-rayed and all that while the two of us take our seats in the otherwise empty waiting room.

"Yup!" she says, smiling as she hugs Gabrielle with -both- arms. "You have NO idea how much of a relief it is to finally be rid of that thing..."

Once Gabrielle's gotten enough hugs in, Charlotte lets go of her and walks over to me. Once she's close enough, she bends down, reaches out to me, and...

"Waaah!" I yell as Charlotte tips me over and lifts me up in her arms. "Whwhwhwhwhat are you doing!?"
"The -second- thing that I really wanted to do after getting this cast off," Charlotte replies, smiling at me.

Even though this is really really REALLY embarrassing, it's also, um... it's nice. Charlotte's holding me in the air, and I can feel her warm breath on my neck as she looks in my eyes and Gabrielle's looking right at us so it'd been really really awkward if I moved in for the kiss so I won't.

Charlotte looks really disappointed, but she lets me down just like I asked anyways.

"Are you two done being gross yet?" Gabrielle asks, making a point to wedge her way in between us.
"For now, anyways," Charlotte replies, winking at me. "But I'm all done with the hospital forever... I hope... so let's get out of here and on the road!"
"Yes ma'am!" I say, saluting her.

And with that, the three of us take the elevator down to the first floor of the hospital and then hurry right on out the front door.

I've no idea how he maintains any semblance of a life with the quests he runs.

Instead of taking a taxi this time around, the three of us decide to go this part of our trip on foot. Every so often, Gabrielle pints out some building and I tell her what it is (if I actually know, anyways). It's kind of fun, and Charlotte seems really happy that we're getting along as well as we have been.

After a little while of walking, both Gabrielle and Charlotte get Synapses... I guess they both have super good range on theirs. It's not until we're like a block away from the game store that Mina told me to meet her at that I end up getting it.

"Please don't buy up the entire store," Charlotte says to Gabrielle as we enter the store, "I don't want to have to carry everything for the entire time that we're out here."
"I won't," Gabrielle says, rolling her eyes. "I'm just gonna look around, okay?"
"As long as that's all you do..."
