You glance up at the sky, bright light shining down onto your face from above. Glancing around, you realize you’re walking through a forest, down some sort of path.

Glancing around, you realize Lisa is here as well. While she has her bow and arrows with her, you notice that her usual traveling gear has been replaced with a few very strategically placed pieces of leather. It certainly wasn’t leaving much to the imagination.

You shake your head and face forward, contemplating your situation, and all of the things wrong about it. Very quickly you deduce that you were dreaming, although this realization doesn’t wake you like it did the previous times. You're fairly certain the Lisa beside you wasn't the real one though.

You consider what to do next, seeing as you were now in your dream with somewhat free reign.

You think to look down at what you're currently wearing, thankfully finding yourself in your normal clothes. You don't have any of your normal gear though, save for your glaive which you suddenly find in your hand.

After taking the moment to examine yourself, you continue walking down the trail, hoping it would lead to some answers. As you walk, you occasionally glance back towards the dream version of Lisa. Even though it wasn't really her, you had to admit it resembled her in every way, save her clothing.

"So," you ask, "Where are we going?"

The dream Lisa giggles at this before speaking.

"As if you don't know," she replies, "We're going somewhere very special. Somewhere we can be alone."

As she speaks you feel her breath on your neck, and you quicken your pace to increase the distance between the two of you.

After what feels like several hours, it feels like you haven't made any significant progress. Either your destination is much further than you realized, or you're not really going anywhere.

"Ceil," the dream Lisa calls out, "If you're tired, we could take a break and rest for a while."

You had the distinct feeling that whatever she wanted to do once you stopped would not be very restful.

You opt to head through the woods instead, and begin your march through the treeline away from the path. Hopefully you'd run into something meaningful instead of being stuck back there.

You vaguely hear the dream Lisa calling to you as you walk away, though she doesn't try and follow you. With any luck, this would be a good thing.

After just a few moments of maneuvering through the trees, you arrive at vast prairie, with lush grass stretching in all directions. You don't spot any clouds in the sky, and there isn't any wind blowing either.

What stood out most of all was the large framed door that stood in the distance. It was the only object of note, though you couldn't really see how it would lead anywhere. Then again, you didn't have many other options.

You move up to the door, wanting to give it a closer look. As you approach, you note that it is indeed a free standing door, unattached to any structure. Just a lone frame in the center of a field.

You circle it a few times. While the two sides appeared to swing in the correct direction, there wasn't anything else setting it apart from a normal door, other than it's peculiar location.

You briefly wonder if there would be any difference depending on which side you opened the door from.

Positioning yourself on the side of the door leading away from the forest, you grip the handle as it swings open away from you. A bright light shines into your eyes as you move forward, and you raise your arm to shield yourself from it.

After a moment, the light seems to fade, and you blink your eyes open, finding yourself in a rocky area with cliffs on all sides. Towards the center, you can spot two figures, one that seems to be brandishing a weapon, and another that seems to be chained to something. Suddenly, you hear a deafening roar from above, and you glance up to see a large dragon swooping around overhead.

You debate how to best approach the situation.

>Try and sneak up behind the two figures and see what's going on
>Charge forward and attack the figure with a weapon, the prisoner might be thankful if you dispatch the guard
>Go to the pair and offer your help against the dragon

You rush over to the central rock where the two figures are. If you were right, they could use your help against this dragon.

As you get closer you begin to make out more of the details. The figure with a weapon seems to be a man in heavy armor wielding a polearm, while the one chained to the rock seems to be a woman in a light colored dress of some kind.

It's only after they notice you that you're able to fully analyze the scene. The girl chained to the rock was Lisa, whose dress wasn't quite opaque enough to fully retain her modesty, while the figure in armor appeared to be, yourself.

"Ceil?" Lisa exclaimed, "There's two of you? Again?"

Before you have the chance to respond, a loud roar sounds from above again, and a burst of fire streams down towards you. You and your double each dive out of the way before closing in towards the now lowered dragon. You slash upward trying to clip its wings an bring it to the ground, which works out surprisingly well. Once it falls down, the two of you make quick work of it. You suppose that since this was a dream, fighting dragons was a bit easier.

The other you went over to help Lisa out of her chains while you thought about what to do with the strange sight before you.

You approach the two. Maybe they would have some answers about what was going on. As you get near, the other you begins to speak.

"Thank you for your assistance with that dragon," he starts, "Though I'm not sure if the princess would be willing to grant both of us her favor."

You consider his words for a moment before pushing them out of your mind. You weren't about to argue with yourself about anything, let alone that.

"What's happening!?" you begin, "Last thing I remember I was asleep at home, then I was in the woods with Lisa having another one of those weird dreams, then there was a door and now I'm here."

"Wait, Ceil?" Lisa blinks in surprise, "Are you the actual Ceil? Like the real one?"

"Yeah," you reply, "At least I think I am. Are you the real Lisa?"

"As far as I know," she nods, "What was that you were saying about a door?"

"That door right over," you gesture towards the rocks, where the door seems to have vanished, "There..."

"Why are you chained to a rock in the middle of nowhere? Also, what was that about there being two of me, again?"

"I woke up like this," she begins, "I thought it was really odd, so I realized it was a dream, but then I didn't wake up. Then you, er, the other you showed up to help, and then you showed up. For a second I thought it was just a more convoluted set-up of last time, but it's really you this time."

You take a moment to examine your surroundings. The general area is mostly just gray stone in a vague bowl shape, likely imagined up as an arena to fight that dragon. You spy vague mountains on the horizon, though none of them are very distinct. You note that there still aren't any clouds in this sky either, and you also realize there isn't a true sun, just a white glow in a portion of the sky.

Out of curiosity you close your eyes and focus, wanting to look at your duplicate using your aura vision. Once you do so, you glance towards him to see that your vision is normal. Rather, even though you just focused on using your aura vision, everything looked completely normal, just like you were looking at it with your eyes.

This place was really starting to weird you out.

" I'm gonna borrow Lisa for a couple seconds," you tell yourself, "Keep fighting the good fight, me."

"Right," he nods, "I'll cover your escape in case there are any more dragons about."

With your doppelganger suitably distracted, you took Lisa's hand and began moving towards where the door was earlier.

"So am I normally so muscly and heroic in your dreams?"

"Maybe," Lisa blushes, "I doubt yours are any better than mine."

She had you there.

As you continue moving upwards, you notice that at some point the door seems to have reappeared. It's the same style as the one from earlier, and it's even facing the correct direction. Assuming this door worked like a normal door, if you entered from this side it would take you back to your previous dream in the forest.

Of course, there was also the question of where the other side led.

You opt for the other side of the door, making sure to continue holding onto Lisa so that the two of you didn't get separated.

You pass through the door and a bright light blinds you once again. A moment afterwards, you find yourself floating. Lisa's still next to you, but the two of you are just floating in some sort of void. All around there are just various colored orbs that seem to drift around lazily. They seem to be making noise, and you almost feel like you could make out the words if you tried, but the large number of them prevents you from focusing.

Before you can decide what you want to do next, one of the orbs floats down to you before coalescing into a familiar shape.

It's the monster you met back in the forest. She grasps your hands and smiles at you, before repeating the gesture with Lisa.

"You? Wait," you start, "Are you the one who's been causing our weird dreams?"

"Well, yes and no," she replies in a melodic voice.

Wait, voice?

"You can speak now?"

"I am in your mind," she explains, "Or rather both of your minds, it is easier to talk here."

"So what did you mean by 'yes and no'?"

"Well, it is partially because of me that this happened, though it was not my intent. In fact, you are somewhat responsible for this as well, though I doubt you realized it."

"What?"

"To put it simply, when we first met, while we were using our different powers of emotion to communicate, I believe it left a subtle telepathic bond between us, and more importantly, the two of you. I am not sure of the exact cause, but I believe the two of you experienced a shared emotion of such intensity that the link re-surfaced, causing you to experience it as you slept. It has affected me somewhat as well, which is why I have been trying to give you enough awareness during your dream to allow you to reach me here."

"Well, I guess to start off with since we can speak now, my name is Ceil, and this is Lisa. Do you have a name?"

"I do not believe I do. I normally do not speak in your tongue, and thus do not have a name in your tongue. However, if it makes it easier to address me, you may give me a name."

"How have you been overall back in the forest?"

"Things are peaceful, even somewhat more than usual. The insect you injured while there has since left. It was a rather aggressive creature, and things have been quiet since it left."

"Have you been watching our dreams?"

"Not directly. I have been aware of when your dreams occur, but once they started I dedicated my focus to raising your awareness and establishing this link."

"Does this mean we're psychics now?"

"Not quite. When we used each of our abilities to communicate emotions, you seem to have accidentally perpetuated the link. This is not a true display of psychic ability, but rather a remnant of mine that has not faded."

"I assume that are unable to fix this yourself," you say, "Otherwise you probably would not have bothered to contact us. So, now that we are finally all together, how can we help?"

"That is correct. As it is your powers that continued the link, the only way I could sever it is if you were aware of this fact. Now that you are, it should be a simple manner to sever it so long as you are willing to do so. We may begin whenever you are ready."

"Alright, let's get this done."

"Very well, close your eyes."

You do so, and you feel ripples shake through your body as the process starts. It feels as though you're being pushed away from the others at high speed.

Soon the motion stops, and you blink your eyes back open, finding yourself lying in bed. Lisa is sleeping on the floor nearby, though she seems to be stirring as well.

"Ceil?" she mumbles as she sits up, "Is it over?"

"I think so," you reply, "I don't think we'll find out until we sleep again, but I feel like it's gone."

"Thank goodness," she sighs, "One of you is about all I think I can handle."

"I hope you don't miss being rescued from dragons too much," you reply as you stand up from your bed.

"I don't even know where that came from," she says, standing as well, "I just hope you don't miss whatever weird fantasies you imagined me in."

"Personally," you begin as you lean in to kiss her on the cheek, "I much prefer the real thing."

Alright. That's finally done. The dream thing was fun for a bit but that went on way too long. Sorry about that.
