I guess the easiest way to find the thing is to ask around about it, it may be blunt and simple, but it will save me the time of wandering around looking for a man wolf without any idea about where it is. I stand up and walk towards the door leading outside, Clementine following me a few moments later, yawning and stretching as she does so.

I'll ask the guards first, since even though they're horrible at their job, they should have at least seen something of the damn thing. I walk up to the two near the front gate. they seem to be playing cards. I cough into my hand, causing them to put away the cards and return to their posts in an almost practiced kind of speed.

"Hey I have something to ask you two" I say

"Ve veren't playing cards" they say in unison

"no not about that, about your little trouble with the werewolf" I say

"Ah, the verevolf" one says "vell ve haven't seen anything of it, I mean ve only vatch the castle, countess"

"Oh, that explains a lot actually" I say turning around "Keep up the good work then"

"Aye" they says as I hear them go back to playing cards.

Okay, so that was a waste of time. I sigh as I walk in, the maid from before looking at me as I do so.

"Having troubles?" She asks me as she dusts off a painting of several cats in a rather demented style.

"Yes, I'm looking for information on the beast that has been plaguing you all of late" I say "because I want to kill it"

"Oh, vell I vould check the castles library then" She says "Second floor, fifth door on the right"

"thank you" I say dragging clementine from the maid as she reaches outtowards her.

we walk up the stairs and over to the fifth door on the right and throw it open to find a rather comfy looking Library, filled with dusty tomes, books, journals and other such things. There's a stuffed wolf near the fireplace, as well as a painting of myself and Maria, including my rather odd ears, dressed in black dresses. There's also a really comfy looking chair

Thankfully the books seem to be rather organized
and I soon find a small section devoted to myths and legends, and after some searching find a book called "The huntsman and wolf of Brausrburge"

On the cover is a rather large man and a similarly large dog walking through the forests, in the back ground I can see a vaguely humanoid shape

I place my hand on the cover, but I stop myself from opening just yet. I bring the book closer to my eyes and stare at it. That man and his dog look awfully familar, mostly because the dog is the size of a godamn horse. I look at the man and notice he has a rather thick mustache and a big old smile drawn on his face. These look exactly like Wallus and his owner, I think back to the bottle of Vodka I still have in my room, and the picture that was on the label, if I remember correctly, it look nearly exactly like the cover of this book, which itself looks pretty old.

I open it up, curious to as to what's inside it now.

"This is the tale of the huntsman William and his encounter with a beast that should not have been"

I read through it, the first few pages describing William and his dog, the state of Brausrburge at the time. The next few pages have William going about his day, hunting for quail and deer, before he returned home and found his family ripped to shreds. He then learns that a beast was seen wandering around his family's cottage near the see, and he begins to prepare to hunt it down with his loyal hound, the mysterious count even coming down to give him a small silver trinket.

It goes on great detail of the game of cat and mouse he plays with the beast, before the confrontation between him and it, that ends with the deaths of both him and the creature, his dog sadly mourning his master to this day as a guardian spirit of the woods.

the remaining pages are blank, besides a few notes detailing what appears to be a recipe for meat pies.

I close the book and turn to see Clementine reading a book near the fire place, it is bound in black leather and red strings.

"What you reading there?" I ask looking over her shoulder

"Nothing" She says sheepishly "Just wanted to look at it, that's all"

"Oh I'm not going to beat you over a book" I say "Now come on, we have work to do"

"As you wish" she says placing the book down and standing up from the chair

"So what do we do now?" Clementine asks "I mean besides hunt down the demon that plagues this place"

"Well we go and talk to an acquaintance of mine and his owner" I say grabbing the book she was reading and looking at the cover. "the journal of Thradrick Brausr, No 5". I place it back down and wonder if there is any kind of hand sanitizer around here.

"That sounds a bit, oh what's the word" She says as she follows me out of the room "Deprived"

"He's a dog" I say

"Oh, well that makes a bit of sense then" She says "do you actually think it's a werewolf"

"Why wouldn't it be?" I ask "I mean we're both vampires and I'm part cat for fucks sake, why couldn't there be a werewolf then"

"Okay I see your point, but it could just be some kind of madman or" She says before I interrupt her with a glare, causing her to whimper and shrink down slightly.

"quiet" I say

"Okay" She says softly as she follows after me. We walk down the stairs and out of the main hall, a man in a suit bowing to me as I pass by. We walk past the guards, who quickly go back to their posts as we near. I walk down the road, clementine not making any sort of sound as we walk down the hill and into town.

It doesn't take much to find Wallus and his owner, sitting on some boxes, drinking and eating what appear to be sausages

"Ahh, vell, I vas vondering vere you vent" He says biting into a rather thick and juicy sausage "Vant some sausage,Vallus is villing to shaare"

I stare up at the big and friendly face of wallace's owner

"Hello William" I say sitting down on a smaller box next to him. He stops eating his sausage, and puts the fork it's on to his knee, the piece of meat falling to the ground, where Wallus quickly consumes it. He sighs, opens a nearby pot and sticks the fork into it, pulling out a fat and dripping sausage from within. He motions it to me.

"No thank you" I say smiling.

"How do you know my name" He says, his voice losing it's usual joy "no one has called me that in years"

"I read a book" I say "and don't be rude Clementine, say hello to the nice man". The undead Nun tears her eyes off of Wallus for a second and waves at William"

"Ah, that old story, I didn't think anyvon kept the original version of it around, vere I am named" He sighs as he bites into the sausage, juice spraying as he tears a bit of it off and begins to chew on it "Vell I don't know vhat to tell you, besides I do not vant to see the creature again"

"So you've dealt with it before?" I ask

"In a vay I suppose" he says chewing on the sausage, before taking a swig from a bottle of what appears to be a bottle of "Hair of the dog that bit you" Vodka "I obviously didn't end the curse that gives birth to the damn thing, no matter how many times I've tried"

"So you're to old to be human, so what are you" I say. He smiles and looks at me.

"Vell, me and Vallus are two pages of the same book, both big old softies who used to be mean and vicious" He says taking another swig of vodka, wiping his mouth clean "and I vill not explain further"

"I understand" I say patting the big man on the shoulder, causing him to smile wider "So how has life been treating you"

"Oh, vell as alvays" he says tossing a sausage to Wallus "vhy?"

"Just wondering" I say. he pats me on the head and takes another swig of vodka.

"It doesn't like Silver, or fire" He says "do not let it bite you, or even let a tooth from it cut you, or you vill share the beasts fate"

"Anything else?" I ask

"Beside it being far harder to kill than any of god's creatures, no" He says taking a swing and sighing "But I think you can handle it". He smiles and toss another sausage to Wallus.

"Well, I'll see you around William" I say standing up "Come on Clementine". Clementine Nods and follows after me.
I look at the sky, wondering if I should do anything before I go after the beast

Well, all the times I've fought the unnatural, I've nearly died due to not being able to prepare for it. This time however will be different, and hopefully I won't nearly die again, but if I do I'll at least get pampered by Maria for a while, which is a reward in of itself.

"Clementine" I say "You may speak"

"Thank you" She says

"Now I'll need you to help me with something" I say "I need you to get some things for me"

"Okay what do you need" She asks happily

"On second thought, I'll just do it, be back in a moment or two, don't eat anyone or anything like that while I'm gone" I say as I walk into the nearest shop, which seems to be a convenience store, luckily the gasoline I need isn't that far from the door, I grab a can of it and the clerk tries to stop me before noticing who I am, and rapidly apologizing as I walk out.

I walk into another store, which has a sign that simply says "Candles". I grab and length of candle wick and leave.

Now to find Gunpowder and some silver. I turn and see what appears to be a gunsmith of some kind, You know, I'd be surprised in anyplace but here. I walk in, the owner looks at me

"Some silver balls please, Hollow and filled partially with bits of it" I say
He snorts, looks at me, and nods. disapearing behind his counter, putting up a wait sign as he goes.

He returns a few hours later, with some still warm balls of silver, unpolished.

I nod and smile at him, and he blushes.

I walk into the street and find Clementine staring at the sky. I tap her on the shoulder and she looks at me and rubs her eyes.

"Are we going after the beast then?" she asks

"Not yet" I say "need to get a few more things real quick".

"Okay" She says, going back to staring at the sky. I think I may have messed with her head a bit too much, but ah well it doesn't really matter how here she is, just that she can remember how to kill, because that's all I really need of her.

Now I could go with some silver weaponry, just in case, but I don't really know where any of that would be, I could go get some torches, but I can already vomit fire and can see pretty well in the dark, so getting those aren't really as pressing as getting something silver.

Ok think, where would I get silver, think Layla, think.

"Something troubling you?" William asks taking a sip from his bottle

"yeah, I need something silver to stab that thing with" I say. He puts his bottle down to the side, and reaches towards his boots. He pulls his pants up and grabs a knife from a sheath on the side of his leg. He hands it to me.

On the blade it reads "For my dearest wife and daughter, I shall rejoin you one day". other than that, it's a rather plain knife, the hilt wrapped in some kind of leather that is oily to the touch. And it seems to be made of silver.

"Make sure to stab the heart, only vay to be sure" He says nodding "now go on, you should know vhat do know"


I nod and go back to clementine.

"Ready now?" She asks

"Yeah" I say nodding "lets head out"

We head into the forest as the sun begins to fall, and it quickly growns thick and dense, looking like something out of some kind of horror movie, with branches that look like arms and roots that seek to trip you, thorns as thick as my arms, and a light fog in the air. I can hear things in the woods, and often see something dart across the edge of my vision

Okay, I should look for something to tell me where the werewolf has been right? I look at the ground and spot what looks like somekind of track.
I begin to follow them, Clementine Following close behind me as I follow the tracks into the thorn covered bushes and deeper into the forest.

The tracks eventually lead to a dead deer and I soon realize that the tracks I've been following belong to it. The deer seems to have been disembowled and left to rot, or maybe it just got torn open by the thorns, I don't know.
I also have no idea where I am and my arms are covered in small cuts do to the thorns that seem to cover every bush in here.

What could possibly go wrong?

Ok, just because I accidently followed something that didn't even look like a paw print for at least an hour, it doesn't mean I shouldn't try again and that the results will be better this time, because I mean how many times can some one fuck up tracking a giant wolf man? So I have to at least be able to find something. I look around and notice some blood on nearby thorns, as well as deer fur stuck near it. Oh so it was disembowled by the thorns, ouch.

Clementine follows me, looking a bit confused as to what the hell I'm doing as I look around the bushes. Okay, there has to be something here, anything, A bit of fur some blood...ANYTHING.

THERE, JACKPOT. A bit of greasy fur stuck to a thorn, as well as large splotches of dried blood, leading off towards a path in the thorns. Bits of fabric stuck to thorns and on the ground along the path as well as a lot of dried blood, and that's where my target is. I smile and stride down the path, Clementine following behind me as I go.

The path goes down about five yards, and leads to a cave,surrounded by bones of deer, human, and something that I'm assuming are previous werewolves Slain by William, judging from the damages.

"Is this it?" Clementine asks. I shush her

"Do you see anything that looks werewolfish" I ask staring at the cave, the only light coming from the moon above us, I can still make out most of the details of the cave and the surroundings, it's just a bit dulled down.

"Not a thing" She says "So, are we going to set up traps and lead it through them so we'll have an easier time dealing with it?"

"No, I have something far funner in mind" I say pulling one of the bombs filled with bits of silver in it. I give it a shake and it makes nice rattling sound. I light the whick being used as a fuse and stand up. I pull my arm back and throw it into the cave.

"VAT THE FUCK" I hear someone shout inside, followed by a dull thud and a scream of pain.

"And that's how you you kill a werewolf" I say smiling turning to Clementine as smoke pours from the inside of the cave. She turns my head back towards the cave and I hear cough and see a emanciated figure stumble out and fall to the ground, covered in soot an bleeding from several parts of his body with visible bits of silver sticking out of him. He tries to stand up, groaning in pain as his skin begins to stretch and break with a sound like ripping leather as his bones snap and grow into new shapes. His body bulges as his muscles grow and change, his screams of pain turn to a low howl as his face stretches and fangs fill his mouth. His ears stretch, his eyes change as he claws at his face as fur covers his hands and his nails are replaced with black claws. A tail sprouts from his spine as the rest of the greasy black fur covers his body. And then his screaming turns into a low and unnatural howl. it begins to sniff the air.

I smile. Clementine looks at me and shakes her head

Why is familiar dumb? If cast successfully (and look at our goddamn rolls if you think it's gonna fizzle) it would overwrite the werewolf's will with our own, thereby giving us fluffy little sentry for our castle and its precious statue of Maria.

A nat20 is no guarantee of anything. And familiar already failed on Layla cast by a experienced witch. I see no reason to assume it will work on the werewolf. Not to mention it might not work to begin with, since he is already a shapeshifter.

I hand Clementine the shot gun, and hold up three of my fingers. She nods and stares at the sniffing creature, mouthing 3, 2, 1. And then she runs forward. I stand up to see what happens to her. the thing turns to her, and swats her away, the shotgun falling to the ground not to far from it. I run out as it begins to lumber towards Clementine. It turns towards me and I open my mouth as a burning pain fills my stomach. The forest is lit up by a foul green light as a stream of green flames fly from my mouth and onto the things face. it howls in pain as I dry retch for a few moments, I look up and see it rolling on the ground whimpering in pain. It stands back up, the flesh burned around it's face, hands, and the upper part of it's chest. It glares at me with it's yellow eyes and roars, coating me with spit. I wipe it off and smile

"Roar" I say to it smiling, It looks confused as to why I'm not running then snarls and runs towards me.

I wait until it's right in front of me and leaps at me, I take a step to the right far faster than it's regular prey. It lands on the ground and pivots around as I try to get some distance between me and it. it runs after me, I can feel it's hot breath down my neck. I pull another silver bomb from my hoodie's pouch and run towards the werewolf. I bite the wick and slide under the werewolf, bending my back in a very uncomftarble way as I do so. I take my lighter out and light the bomb, rolling it behind me as I get up and start running.

I grab the silver knife William gave to me and stab it sideways into the things neck as it slams into me, I hear something crack and I twist the knife as I snarl through the pain and continue pushing the blade deeper into the things neck as we slide across the ground for a few feet from the sheer force of it's tackle.
