"You meanie! You hit me in the head! Give me one reason not to destroy you!"

The young girl before you stares back with the intense anger of one who is absolutely willing to make good of that threat. She's waiting for your answer, but you're not even sure what's going on yet. Given the strange events just prior as well as your current environment, you do suspect that she's more capable of following through on her threat than she would otherwise appear to. You should probably be careful here.

You are the Loli Talker, aka Nee-chan, a specialist dealing in bringing unreasonable lolis to reason, and you are currently trying to find your bearings in an alien world that you were suddenly and unwillingly transported to with only a few moments of warning from Andrea, your trusted friend-you'd-like-to-be-more who, presumably through the use of her own magic that you don't really understand, was able to detect what was about to happen to you.

Upon arriving in this strange place, a world with an apparent abundance of all things pink and girly, you made your way into the town under the cover of night and, picking one of the only four apparent landmarks, found your way to the big glass cube that you have since discovered to be the mall of the town.

Upon entering the main hall, a voice called out to mock you before the door behind you flung off of its hinges at high speed, dragging you with it to the top floor of the mall. While you managed to walk away from the ensuing crash with only a minor ache, the strange young girl was caught unconscious under the door. In an attempt to help her, you located a toy hammer in a nearby store to use as leverage and proceeded to try to lift the door off, accidentally hitting the girl in the process, prompting the anger now directed at you, even though you were just trying to help.

"I was just trying to help you! You were caught under that door and I thought you might be hurt!"

The girl blinks, falling into deep thought for a moment, then looks at the remains of the door around her.

"You hit me with the door too! You're a double meanie!"

Quickly, she stands from her seated position as her eyes take on a supernatural silvery glow. She raises her right hand towards you with a closed fist.

"Wait! I was just trying to-"

You're cut off mid sentence as she opens her fist, a blinding flash of silver bursts from her palm in a thin ray, heading straight towards your head. She lets out a wicked laugh as the beam rushes towards you and... changes direction, fizzling into the toy hammer still in your hand. Both of you gasp in surprise.

"W-w-what! How did you do that?"

You haven't the faintest idea.

>Ask her to calm down so you can talk like civilized people?

"Please,"

You crouch down to appear less intimidating while folding your hands in front of you.

"Try to calm down. I just want to talk. Okay?"

The girl backs away from you, holding both hands to her chest. Her face turns to a worried frown.

"Talk? An interrogation? No, I'll never betray my friends by talking to an invader!"

There's that word again. Invader. She must know you're an outsider, but she doesn't know you're not here by choice. You'll need something more if you're going to talk to her, she seems very hostile toward outsiders.

"I'm trying to apologize to you! I didn't mean to hit you, I just wanted to help. Besides, you're the one who started it, so I think you should stop being mean and start being nice!"

She blinks at you and turns her attention inwards again for a while. Does she not even remember what happened or what?

"Otherwise..." You continue. "I won't share any candy or toys I'll get with you, ever!"

Instantly, her attention snaps back to you as she smiles widely.

"Candy? You have candy? Candy is expensive! Fine, ask your questions, invader, but I'm not going to help you murder my friends!"

Well, she's not really any less distrustful of you, but maybe you should just take what you can get here. You lower yourself from a crouch to sit properly down on the floor before her. The girl looks you up and down a few times curiously, then casts a quick glance around her. Finally, she sits back down on her pink pillow.

"So," You begin, "Who are you?"

The girl crosses her arms in front of her, then turns to face away from you with an exaggerated "hmph!"

"I'm Valerie, and I'll destroy anyone who tries invade my new home!"

You look around you, in confusion. Does she mean...?

"You live here? In the mall?"

Valerie snaps at you, giving you the glare of someone who has just been subjected to a grave insult.

"I have a house, stupid! I mean out there! Home!"

Right. Of course. You don't know what made you think that.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it that way!" You try to apologize, but you're not sure it's working. "Actually, I'm really confused. Could you tell me what this place is?"

She rolls her eyes at in that exaggerated manner you're sure only prepubescent girls can really master.

"I just told you! It's Home!"

You're starting to wonder if anything you say won't cause her to be upset with you at this point.

"Right, it's your home, but what is it called? Where is it?"

She sigh in resignation, clearly hesitant to lower herself to your level of ignorance.

"It's called Home! That's the name!"

How inventive of them. She continues.

"Mistress made it for us! She said we could come live here and be safe and happy! And it's great! And that's why I won't let you destroy it or hurt my friends!"

Again with the accusation. You're getting tired of this, but best not to let it show. You take a moment to calm yourself, careful to watch your tone with her.

"Why do you think I would hurt your friends? I'm not a bad person!"

The girl scoffs at you, turning away again.

"You came from outside, so you're an invader! You're a human, so you're a bad person!"

This is starting to get on your nerves. How are you supposed to convince this stubborn girl? You find your own tone growing more hostile against your will.

"I'm not here to hurt anyone!"

She doesn't move an inch as she responds.

"Then why are you here?"

>>

"I came here to look for my friend."

Not really. You're not even sure Andrea is here yet. She was trying to find a way for the both of you to get here together, but she needed some very expensive... thingmajigs for the spell, which is why you've been working so hard to make money these last months. You did manage to finish your last job before disappearing to this place, so at the very least she's probably on her way?

Either way, you'd sure wish she was here, so at least your answer is a little true.

"Have you seen her?" You ask, "Her name is Andrea, blue hair, a little taller than me?"

Valerie locks eyes with you, staring straight without blinking for a long while before finally lowering her gaze to her own hands.

"You're not making that up? You're really looking for your friend? You miss her so much, you came all the way here for her? And I tried to stop you..."

She clenches both hands into fists, then jumps up on her feet with a determined look.

"Friends are very important, even to humans! I'll help you find your friend, and then you'll go back where you came from, right?"

Actually, you kind of have to find the "girl" who stole your soul all that time ago. She's definitely here, somewhere. You're not sure how to get it back exactly, or what happens if you don't, but Andrea says it's very bad. You don't want to leave before fixing that.

>Agree to her proposal, even though it's a lie?

You probably shouldn't tell her THAT, but you will have to tell her something or she'll just get angry when you don't leave.

"Actually there's one more thing.. We need to find a girl who lives here and ask her something. It's nothing bad, I promise!"

She tilts her head with a curious look. At least she doesn't appear angry, yet.

"Who do you need to find? I can probably help!"

Oh shit, you don't actually know. You have some ideas, but that's about all. Make something up, quick!

"I uh... I don't know. My friend knows, so I need to find her first.

Valerie shrugs, her suspicions apparently having toned down a bit now.

"Okay, let's find her then. What do you wanna do? I've never heard of your friend before, but maybe Nee-chan has. Do you want to ask her, or just go look somewhere?"

Wait wha- oh she's referring to someone else. You don't have exclusive rights to that name, gotta remember that. And you haven't told her your name yet, have you? Maybe you should give her your real name instead, to avoid confusion. Or just not give her your name at all, she didn't ask anyway.

"Let's go ask your friend, I don't know the way around here at all!"

It does mean another potentially very dangerous little girl for you to deal with, but that's exactly the kind of situation you're supposed to be able to handle elegantly.

"Alright!" Valerie turns from you and begins marching to the escalators leading back down to the ground level. "Let's get going then so you can leave soon! I'll show the way!"

Despite her small size, Valerie walks at a rapid pace and you almost have to run to keep up with her. She makes no attempts at conversation as you exit the mall, the girl completely disregarding the fact that the entrance is now missing a door. You'd think she'd be concerned about having to replace that. Is that now how things work here, or is she just not noticing at all?

Under her guidance you make amazing time through the streets, much quicker than before. She leads you closer to the center of the town, towards the building with the clock tower. Just a few minutes before 6 now, the sun, or its equivalent, will probably begin to rise soon. You'd rather not be out on the streets when the locals start pouring from their houses, but you're not in that much of a hurry yet and this pace is really uncomfortable for you.

Perhaps if you got her talking, she'd settle for a more reasonable pace? You'd certainly like that, and you do have an obvious opener.

"By the way, my name is Ayaka."

She halts on the spot, turning to look at you with wide eyes.

"A-ya-ka?"

Is your name really that strange compared to anything here? That's quite a reaction to just that.

"Uh, is something wrong?"

At that, she makes a small jump as if she has just woken, then shakes her head quickly from side to side.

"It's nothing! Nothing at all! Don't worry about it! Anyway, it's just over here."

She runs over to a nearby house, tugging on the door handle to push the door open.

"Nee-chan won't mind! Come on inside!"

You step inside the still darkened home. The sun has yet to rise, as has the resident, leaving the house in a state where you can barely see what's ahead of you. An issue you're about to raise when Valerie grabs your wrist, dragging you through the darkness.

"It's down here!"

You don't know if she can see in the dark or if she just knows the place very well but she efficiently keeps you from colliding with anything as you both snake your way through the halls before finally stopping, presumably in front of something. You really can't tell!

"It's in here!"

You hear a creaking sound before once again being dragged along by the wrist a short distance, then hearing a gentle thump behind you. A moment later, a click prompts the lights of the small room to come on.

The bedroom may be small, but it lacks for nothing, sporting a large mirror, several closets lined in front of the bright red walls, and finally a bed large enough for several to have a good night in, though it only appears to contain one at the moment.

Valerie jumps on top of the bed, shaking the poor girl with both arms.

"Nee-chan! Wake up, quick!"

The girl groans loudly before finally giving in to the assault, rising from the covers to reveal herself. Her hair is as red as her room, adorned with an oversized ribbon even though she was just sleeping, and more importantly, you notice her pointed ears. If you paid attention to Andrea's lectures this would probably tell you something important about the girl, other than the fact she is not human.

She rubs her eyes sleepily, still not having actually opened them to the light and thus unaware anyone but Valerie is here.

"It's her, Nee-chan!" Valerie is practically shouting at the girl now. "The one mistress is looking for, I brought her here! Help me capture her!"

Uh oh?

The girl opens her eyes and gives you a confident smile.
