The day of reckoning is fast approaching.

It has been nearly three years since Trunks, a half-Saiyan from the future, arrived with a terrible warning. Trunks claimed that two beings of incredible power, Androids created by a mad scientist of the Red Ribbon Army, would appear on the twelfth of May on an Island nine miles South of South City. In the future Trunks came from, these two beings wiped out every one of the Z-Fighters save him.

Since then, you and your friends (as well as Vegeta) have been training in preparation for the dark day when the Androids would appear. Now, that day is nearly here.

It is May Seventh, and the arrival of the Androids will come in five days.

But, that is not what occupies your thoughts today. No, you have far more pressing matters to attend to. Recently, an event of great importance has come to your attention, and now, you race to address the situation that is unfolding.

The World Martial Arts Tournament is today!

Fighters from across the planet are gathering to battle for the title of World Champion. And you've heard that a Junior Division has been added! So, naturally, you, Gohan, Kazuma, Billy, and Haya are going to enter.

Your Uncle Frank is transporting you, your friends, and your parents to the location of the tournament in his airship. He focuses on piloting as Gohan sits nearby, reading a book. Billy and Haya talk excitedly, while Kazuma takes a nap, and your parents talk quietly.

You take a walk over to Gohan to see what he's reading.

A quick inspection tells you that he's merely reading the book the two of you have been working on lately, about the siege of a walled city that claimed countless lives all in the name of bringing a woman who had run off with her lover back home.

Gohan seems focused, so you decide to let him be, making your way over to your parents, who continue to talk as you approach.

"...staying with us for a while," your father says.

"That's not a problem," your mom replies. "We have plenty of room, and it'll be nice to see Sarah and the kids again."

Your father smiles at her, then looks over to you. "Hey, son. Do you need something?"

"Did you warn Uncle Frank yet?" you ask.

Your father nods. "We did, don't worry, son."

"Yep, they gave me the head's up a few weeks ago," your uncle tells you. "The family and I are all packed up and ready to go. We'll be coming to stay with you guys the day after tomorrow. Then you can turn those two Androids to scrap, and we can go home safe and sound."

A moment later, your uncle speaks again.

"Well, boys and girls, here we are!"

Looking out the window, you see a large temple below, and sitting in front of it is a massive stadium with a large ring in its center. Your uncle brings the ship in for a landing not far from the temple, and Billy wakes up Kazuma as everyone exits the airship one by one.

Kazuma yawns and stretches, glancing around as Haya grins to herself in barely restrained glee. Billy looks ready to just take off and sign up for the tournament by himself if it takes too long for everyone else to get moving.

You see various stands set up nearby, selling food, drinks, souvenirs, and so on. Crowds of people wander the area, some stopping at stands, some crowding around fighters who have come for the adult division.

None of you are in the mood to eat, you're ready to get this tournament started! So, you make your way over to the registration area, where a small table is set up with a man in strange clothing behind it.

"Ah, more for the Junior Division, wonderful," he says, looking at you and your friends. "What are your names, kids?"

"Gohan"

"Kazuma"

"Haya"

"Billy"

"Kaguya," you say last.

The man looks at you in confusion. "Wait, are you a boy or a girl?"

"A boy," Gohan tells him.

"But that's a-" the man begins.

"A girl's name, we know," Haya tells him.

"Well, alright then, you're all signed up," the man says. "Come on in, the tournament will be starting soon."

As you and your friends make your way to the waiting area, you decide to come up with some ground rules.

"So guys, let's not use energy attacks," you suggest.

"What? Why?" Gohan asks.

"Well, we could destroy the whole stadium," you tell him.

"No we won't, we've been training for years, we can control our own attacks," Haya tells you.

"Well, can we at least agree to only use them against each other?" you ask.

Haya nods. "Fine by me, I won't need them against anyone else."

"And no flying against anyone but us," you say.

Billy shrugs. "Whatever."

"And we should power down to the level of the people we're fighting," you suggest.

"Why? This tournament is about fighting, and strength is part of that," Kazuma points out.

Haya walks off to check out the competition, while Kazuma goes to get some food. Billy finds a quiet space nearby to practice his kicks and punches, leaving you and Gohan alone together.

"This should be great," he comments. "My dad fought in the World Martial Arts Tournament when he was about my age."

You remember hearing stories of when Goku fought in the tournament. There was no Junior Division back then, but Goku always made it far, despite fighting martial artists with far more age and experience. It's too bad Gohan won't be able to fight in the adult division this time around, but you're sure he'll make it far in the Junior Division.

"Hey!" shouts a voice from behind you.

Turning around, you find a dark-haired girl in a white shirt, black pants, and pigtails staring at you intently, her hands on her hips.

"You look familiar, don't I know you from somewhere?" she asks.

Recognition dawns on her face, and her eyes widen. "You're that flying boy with the girl's name!"

Gohan chuckles at that.

"Right, I remember! Kaguya!" Videl says.

You smile at her. "Hello, Videl. Have you been practicing for our rematch?"

She grins. "That's right! And this time, you're going down!"

Gohan looks back and forth between you. "You two have fought before?"

Videl glances at him, nodding. "Yeah, he came to train at my dad's dojo, and we sparred."

You feel introductions are in order. "Videl, this is my friend, Gohan. Gohan, this is Videl."

"Nice to meet you!" Gohan says in his normal friendly tone.

She stares at him for a moment before giving him a small smile. "Nice to meet you, too."

Videl smirks. "Good, I was worried Kaguya was going to be the only competition here."

"Speaking of competition, do you know when the Tournament is going to start?" you ask.

"I think the Junior Division starts in about ten minutes," Videl tells you. "We should probably go to the waiting area."

Someone behind Videl laughs. You look in the direction of the laughter, and Videl turns to do the same.

Some big kid, probably at least thirteen, and pretty tall for his age looks at you, Gohan, and Videl, laughing harder.

"Oh, man, these are the kids I have to go up against?" he asks. "Too easy! That ten million Zeni is gonna be all mine!"

"In your dreams!" Videl tells him.

The boy laughs. "What? You think you can beat me, little girl?"

"I know I can!" Videl tells him.

He laughs harder. "Oh, man, I hope I get to fight you. I'm gonna have fun changing that stupid attitude of yours."

"I was thinking the same thing," Videl replies.

"I heard that they don't tell us our matches until the tournament starts, in case any of the kids want to give up at the last minute," she tells you.

"And that's what you twerps should do!" the boy says. "Unless you want to get crushed into dirt!"

"Well, how about we go wait for the tournament to start?" you suggest, ignoring the threat.

"Sure," Gohan says.

"Fine," Videl agrees.

The three of you leave the boy behind, making your way to the main waiting area. Videl looks like she wants to go back and clobber that kid, and you can't really blame her. You already find yourself thinking about the best way to embarrass him if the two of you fight.

The three of you enter the main waiting area, finding most of the other competitors already there. They range from looking about five to teenagers, though it seems Videl and Haya are the only two girls competing.

A man in a suit, with blonde hair and sunglasses enters the room, looking around and giving everyone a smile.

"Welcome to the first Junior Division of the World Martial Arts Tournament," he says to you all. "I want to wish you all good luck, and tell you that we'll be starting the tournament shortly. When it starts, you'll all come out with me to the ring for the introduction. Then, you'll come in here and wait for your matches."

You take a moment to look around for Kazuma, Billy, and Haya. You spot the trio on the other side of the room, and Kazuma waves when he sees you, leading the others over.

"So, are you ready for this?" he asks.

"Sure are!" Gohan tells him.

Haya grins. "Hope you're ready to get your butt kicked."

"Oh, please, you're going down, Haya," Billy promises her.

"We'll see," she replies before glancing at Videl. "Who's this?"

"Her name's Videl," Gohan tells her. "She and Kaguya sparred once."

Haya raises a brow. "And she's willing to risk fighting him again? Brave."

Videl smirks. "He's not going to win this time, that's a promise!"

Haya chuckles. "That's the spirit! Glad I'm not the only one looking forward to taking him down!"

Videl seems to think of something for a moment. "Oh, you're the girl Kaguya was talking about!"

Haya gives you a confused look, but doesn't ask for any more information. Instead, she turns her attention back to Videl.

"Well, good luck, you're gonna need it," she says before walking away.

"Alright, boys and girls, it's time to get started!" the announcer tells you. "Follow me, now!"

The other contestants begin to form a straight line. You move to get in line, but that big boy from earlier shoves you out of the way, chuckling as he takes your spot.

Slowly, the line of fighters makes its way into the stadium, climbing the small set of stairs leading to the ring.

You take a moment to glance around at the crowd, spotting your parents in the higher seats, with your Uncle sitting next to them. Goku and Chi Chi sit nearby, and you spot Haya's parents, Billy's parents, and Kazuma's parents as well.

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen!" the announcer shouts. "Thank you one and all for joining us for the Twenty-Fourth World Martial Arts Tournament!"

The crowd cheers, and the announcer goes silent until they calm down.

"As some of you might not be aware, this tournament is the first to feature a Junior Division; a chance for young fighters to test their mettle against others their age!" he continues. "Now, this being the Junior Division, there are no preliminaries. As such, all thirty-two contestants will be fighting in this ring for the title of Junior World Champion!"

The crowd goes wild, and you notice some of the children becoming nervous.

"Now, I'll take a moment here to go over the rules," the announcer continues. "If a fighter touches the ground outside of the ring, is knocked unconscious, or is on the ground for ten seconds, they lose! No weapons or outside help are allowed, and, in the unlikely and unfortunate event that one contestant kills another, they will be disqualified! Now, the first match will be Jack vs Cameron! The other match ups will be displayed momentarily, and the fighters will be informed. Let the tournament commence!"

You and most of the other fighters clear off the ring, while two nervous looking kids remain with the announcer. Upon returning to the waiting area, you are informed that your first opponent will be a kid by the name of David.

As it turns out, Gohan is fighting someone named George, Haya is fighting a kid named Nicky, Billy is fighting someone named Richard, and Kazuma is fighting someone named Alan.

"What about you, Videl?" Gohan asks.

"My opponent's name is Robert," she says.

"Oh man, am I lucky or what?" an annoying voice says behind Videl.

You see the big boy from earlier come up behind her, grinning and chuckling to himself. Videl's eyes narrow as she turns to face him.

"Not only to I get to fight you, but I get to fight you in the first round!" he says excitedly. "This is going to be so much fun! I hope you're ready to cry, little girl!"

"I hope you're ready, because our match is next," she tells him. "And I'm going to shut that big mouth of yours."

"Yeah, right! You're going down!" he tells her.

The two children from the first match come back into the room, the first one leaving with tears streaming down his face. The second one looks uncomfortable as he takes a seat.

"Well, looks like it's time," Videl comments.

She nods, exiting the room beside her opponent.

"Let's hear it for eleven year old Videl, and fourteen year old Robert!" you hear the announcer shout as you and your friends make your way to the stadium entrance.

You see Videl and Robert facing each other, Robert grinning and shaking with laughter while Videl looks calm and serious.

"Go, Bobby!" you hear a woman from the crowd shout, causing Robert to get a mortified expression and Videl to smirk.

He growls at her, clenching his hands into fists.

"Let the match begin!" the announcer shouts.

"Alright, little girl, you're going dow-" Robert begins, but he doesn't get to say anything else.

Videl leaps forward, kicking him in the head with enough force to knock him on his back, his head slamming on the ground as he slides away and out of the ring, falling unconscious and out of bounds at the same time.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Videl is the winner!" the announcer declares as Videl exits the ring, making her way back inside with a smirk on her face.

"I told him I'd shut his mouth," she comments as she passes you.

Haya chuckles and nods in approval, and the next two names are soon called. After two uneventful matches, it's finally your turn.

"Up next is twelve year old David and eleven year old Kaguya!" the announcer tells the crowd as you and your opponent, a boy about your height, enter the ring.

You hear several people in the crowd cheering your name.

You decide to have some fun with this match, and see if you can match the other fighters in skill when you don't have an overwhelming level of strength.

It takes some effort, but you lower your strength until it is about the same as David's, and wait for the match to begin.

"Let the match begin!" the announcer yells.

You drop into a defensive stance, waiting for David to make the first move. He doesn't seem to realize what you're doing for a few seconds, and just sort of stares at you.

Then, he lets out a yell and runs right at you, raising his left hand, clenching it into a fist, and pulling it back.

Needless to say, it's not hard to stop his attack. You sidestep as he throws his punch and grab his wrist, kicking him in the chest with enough force to knock him over.

He falls on his butt and starts to cry, shaking his head and thrashing about.

"Oww! That really hurt!" he cries.

"Uh...David, are you okay?" the announcer asks.

"No! I give up!" he cries, getting up and running out of the ring.

Right, Junior Division.

The rest of your friends effortlessly win their matches, and the next round goes about the same. With only eight competitors remaining, you, Gohan, Kazuma, Haya, Billy, and Videl have all made it to the quarter finals.

Gohan is scheduled to fight Billy, Kazuma is scheduled to fight Haya, you're supposed to fight a kid named Creg, and Videl is against someone named Tim.

"Now, let's hear it for Gohan and Billy!" the announcer shouts as your two friends enter the ring.

He rushes Gohan, bringing his knee into the half-Saiyan's jaw and sending him flying backwards and out of the ring.

"Wow, what a hit!" the announcer yells. "It looks like it might be over for young Gohan."

"Wow, some match," Videl comments sarcastically.

Gohan stops himself before he hits the ground, hovering before slowly rising into the air and bringing himself back above the ring.

"Ladies and gentlemen, young Gohan has taken to the sky! He's not out of this yet!" the announcer calls out.

"No way, he can fly too?!" Videl asks in disbelief.

"Oh, get back down here!" Billy calls up to Gohan, gathering energy into his hands and throwing two blasts up at him.

Gohan barely evades the blasts, then stares down at Billy before letting out a yell. You find yourself buffeted by a strong gust of wind as Gohan's hair and aura turn gold.

"Now the real fight starts," Haya says.

"What did he just do?" Videl asks in confusion.

The latter was pissed at the former for blowing up the moon since he only changed into a human during the fool moon, and he didn't want any furry wolf women. Jackie Chun, after winning the match, hypnotized him using Krillin's bald head in substitute for the full moon to make him transform into a human permanently.

In all honesty though, he looked a lot better in his wolf form.

"Well, it looks like hair color isn't the only thing that's changed about Gohan!" the announcer shouts. "He's now effortlessly stopping young Billy's attacks!"

"Alright, Gohan, let's see you knock these away so easily!" Billy shouts, gathering energy again and throwing two blasts up at his opponent.

Gohan remains where he is, knocking the two blasts aside effortlessly and keeping his eyes locked on Billy. Because of this, he doesn't see the blasts turn and come shooting right back at him, slamming into his back and detonating.

Gohan lets out a shocked yell and moves forward a few feet as smoke rises from his back.

Billy smirks up at Gohan, who slowly comes to ground, staring at Billy and getting into a defensive stance.

"Gohan has returned to the ground!" the announcer shouts. "I wonder how this change in strategy will effect the match!"

The ensuing match is actually not too bad. Tim starts with a decent offensive that keeps Videl unable to land any hits on him. Eventually, however, she manages a counteroffensive, and quickly drives him back, finally knocking him out of the ring with an uppercut to the jaw.

"Videl is the winner!" the announcer shouts. "Next up, Kaguya and Creg!"

My own crappy head cannon is that humans long time ago took to the stars.

They used genetic engineering many times, created warriors like the Saiyans, a variety of the off breed human types we see in space, tailored to specific envirorments.

Eventually the civilization collasped, humans retreated to earth with there animal men friends, and the others were spread out in space.

Saiyans as warriors worked better, due to how rare super humans were to train up.
