You grab Devs arm in your hand as he slips and you start to get dragged down with him, damn you keep forgetting that despite your strength you’re still smaller than most people. You lash out with your other hand and with your tentacles, grabbing the rocks around you to brace yourself, and then you pull Dev up. You feel a pain in the hand grabbing the rock, you realise with an irritated glance that you grabbed a sharp stone spar, and even your tough skin can still be cut.

“Thanks” Dev says “That could have been bad.” You’re not really listening, instead you’re examining your hand, and how the blood is flowing back into the wound, sealing it up behind itself and the wound fading, until there’s not even a scar. You wonder why you’re not freaked out by this, and then you remember: because that’s the way it should be. I mean really, why should blood not go back into your body, that’s where it’s supposed to be after all.

“Hmm, oh yeah” you say to Dev, looking at the sheer drop over the edge of the boulder “yeah that could have been bad.” You’re aware that Rainya is giving you a funny look, but Dev either isn’t bothered by your attention being elsewhere, or hasn’t really noticed.

“You can’t just lie in the sun and relax?” you ask Dev, he shakes his head.

“Can’t seem to” he says “Too much energy, gotta do something, besides, can you?” He has a point, despite still feeling tired from making...everything, you want to be up and doing something. You can also feel that crystal...thing in the back of your mind, with the promise of a new aspect to incorporate into yourself.

What do you want to do now? You don’t have a watch but it’s probably late morning, maybe midday. You have nothing else planned today, though tomorrow you will be meeting the black market guy that Tenley knows.

Yes, it does, because losing that one PE/round regeneration when it takes 50 *fucking* XP to get it in the first place is something that matters to me quite a fucking lot.

And then there's the fact that *every* instance of Alter Power also has the opportunity to be overcharged and sometimes we use multiple psychic powers in a round, so even if it's only one/power, Inner Flame still won't keep up.

“Delay Shee!” Rainya suddenly runs on ahead as Dev slams into you, trying to knock you down. Despite this sudden betrayal you easily throw him off and chase after Rainya “Come back here!” you yell, grinning. Rainya just giggles and runs faster, even as a duplicate of hers splits off and heads in your direction, trying to tackle you.

By the time you get near Kaelyn and Lirael you have three Rainyas and Dev trying to hold you back, with not much success.

Rainya still gets there ahead of you “Shee and I are going on a date” she announces to Kaelyn and Lirael “We might be out late, don’t wait up.”

Lirael sits up and says to Rainya “Have fun!”

Kaelyn just stays lying down and waves at you, adding “Maybe you can make some more stuff when you get back?” You don’t dignify that with a response.

Should probably look to get one for Rainya first, before buying a motorbike.

Sending something from Dream to Dream is pretty different from sending from Dream to another Dimension.
I heavily doubt Corruption can work around the need for Interdimensional Teleport like that.

What's the point of ever taking Oceanic reality above rank 2? After that it doesn't make the water cube any wider or longer, just deeper. The bigger sea monsters couldn't even fit in it.

“And so, after reclaiming Apollyon from the invaders known as the Core Empire, King Ordeyen brought peace and order to our world.”

“That’s bullshit” Ranya whispers to you “Isn’t it?”

“It is” you say “But who can say what really happened, it was hundreds of years ago.”

You look up at the statue, it looks appropriately martial and impressive: a stern-faced man holding a sword pointed at unseen foes, dressed in full battle regalia. Is that truly King Ordeyen? Or just the human-like shape he shows his subjects?

“Lets go see something else” you say to Rainya “this is...not right.” A part of you wonders how you can make it right, or perhaps just...overwrite it.

“This is beautiful!” exclaims Rainya “How...?”

All around you streams of water twist and curve through the air, defying gravity and physics, swimming through the air like multi-coloured snakes, wrapping around the other tourists, occasionally brushing up against them and leaving damp spots on their clothes.

All around you can feel the itching, burning feeling of chaos magic. You and Rainya walk through the gardens titled the Palace of Aquatic wonders where you can see all sorts of strange and yes, wonderful things done with water. The water streams are just part of it. You see sculptures of water, spheres of water suspended in air with fish swimming through them, waterfalls that flow upwards and other reality defying exhibits. This feels comfortable, normal to you, even as those around you gasp in amazement, Rainya among them. She drags you by the hand from exhibit to exhibit, clearly delighted at the marvels on display.

You keep one eye watching the guards, just in case something or someone is able to detect anything unusual about you.

The last place you visit has a long elevator ride up, even as the elevator passes floor after floor at a rapid pace, it still takes an hour to reach its destination. You and the other tourists walk out of the elevator into a giant glass-like dome.

“As you can see” says the guide “You’re now at the very top of the Hive, above even the Governors Residence.”

You’re barely listening, you and Rainya have your faces almost pressed to the glass, looking down, around...and also looking upwards...

Down below you is a vast swirling dust cloud, stretching as far as you can see, well, you’re over thirty kilometres high, of course you can’t see anything down there.

To the sides you can see mountains and, if you squint, what looks to be another Hive, maybe?

And up above you, you can see the stars. You deliberately came up here just as the sun was setting – and with the light fading you can pick out tiny pinpricks of light against a vast black gulf.

“It’s beautiful” breathes Rainya at your side, one arm snaking around your waist and pulling you close.

“Yeah” you say, looking up “Yeah”

“Can we go there some day?” asks Rainya “Into space?”

“Someday” you promise “Someday."

Later, on the ride down “Rainya asks “So what now?”

“Are you hungry?” you say “Want something to eat?”

“Yeah” says Rainya “You want anything in particular?”

“Uh...” You say, truth is, neither of you have much experience with different cuisine.

You ask the tour guide for suggestions and he send you to a long street with all sorts of diners, restaurants, and takeouts. They’re even handcarts and stalls in the streets, offering all sorts of fare.

“Well?” you ask Rainya, gesturing down the street “Take your pick”

The two of you wander down the street until Rainya picks a place that seems to specialise in salads and fried food, an odd combination, still, worth a try, and for Dusters like, well like both of you, fresh vegetable are a novelty. You still haven’t gotten used to eating real food regularly, despite now living at the Waystation.

The food is usual, but good. Over dinner you talk about the day you’ve had, Rainya positively gushing about some of the sights you’ve seen, you occasionally teasing her over the clothes you both bought. When the meal is almost over Rainya asks you a little uncertainly “Shee, where is this going, us I mean?”

Oh boy, one of those conversations.

“What do you mean?” you ask Rainya

“I mean, us” she says “I mean, am I just someone you want to have fun with, or-or- a friend, or am I something more to you?”

“That’s fine by me” you say, leaning across the table to kiss her gently “We’ll find out together.”

“Yeah” says Rainya, her breath on your lips, and then kisses you again “together.”

“Two tickets for *Bio-Horror IV* you say to the man at the theatre. The movie poster shows a man turning into some sort of semi-liquid monster, that looks like it might be scary.

The movie theatre is almost empty, out of the fifty or so seats there’s maybe ten people in here. You and Rainya take seats at the back, sharing a box of popcorn between you. The movie starts out fairly predictably: a monster released upon an unsuspecting Hive world by some weird scientists called the *Philologians* on the orders of the Core Empire. It resembles a puddle of dark liquid that moves slowly.

“I thought this was supposed to be scary” whispers Rainya “what is this, a nature docu-oh, oh....”

As you watch the dark puddle is stepped on by a man taking a shortcut through an alleyway late at night and it crawls up his legs, enveloping him as he screams. Once it has completely covered him a fanged maw opens where his mouth should be and a dozen tentacles emerge from its back, huh, kinda cute in an ugly sort of way. Then it slowly retreats within his own flesh, leaving him almost normal looking, only coming out when it feeds.

Neither you or Rainya find this scary, in fact Rainya shoots you a considering look.

From then on the man has to deal with blackouts, strange cravings and a constant hunger, until he finally accepts that to feed the beast he has to kill and eat people, or it will start eating away at his own flesh. He preys on the homeless and targets of opportunity at first, until the whispering voice in his head tells him it hates the taste of weak meat, poisoned by drugs and alcohol, it wants tastier food.

Although not scary exactly, some of the scenes where he unexpectedly jumps out on people get a small yelp out of you and Rainya, Rainya more than you. The music and the directing manage to get a reaction out of you more than the monster, which stops it from being boring at least.

The guy picks up a girl in a bar and then the scene changes, to the two of them in his apartment, kissing and groping one another. As you watch a black patch appears on his neck, oh yeah, you know where this is going. Rainya is leaning forward as if waiting for the moment where he will change and eats the girls face.

You look over at Rainya, a mischievous smile spreading on your face, she sis engrossed in the film.

As things are getting hot and heavy between the monster-infested guy and the woman he bought home you extend a tentacle and wrap it lightly around Rainyas ankle. Rainya spares you a curious look and then turns back to the scene. You have the tentacle crawl up her leg.

“Behave Shee” whispers Rainya “I’m trying to watch the-mmm...” Rainyas admonishment is cut off as your tentacle strokes and tickles her thigh, soon it’s joined by a pair of tentacles, the two of them caressing Rainyas things as the third sneaks further up her skirt.

Rainya grabs hold of that one with both hands, arresting its movement just short and says to you in a breathy voice “Shee much as I’d, nnng-” Her head goes back as your tentacles tease and caress her, moving further up.

“Is this really the place?” she asks a little desperately, as her grip on your tentacle loosens.

“Just say *no* and I’ll stop-” Your offer is cut short by the roar and spray of blood on the screen as the monster attacks its victim, killing her in an appropriately gory fashion, her head flying over the audience thanks to the holo-projector, a stream of blood trailing after it.

The two of you pause in your antics for a moment to watch. Once the scene is over, Rainya gives you a part apologetic, part regretful look “moment lost” is all she says, and lets you go, settling down in her seat. She’s right, after seeing that, you’re not exactly feeling romantic. You retract your limbs and simply cuddle up to her for the rest of the movie.

You walk out of the movie theatre together, laughing.

“And then the police guy says *I got this*, only for it to bite his head off!” says Rainya, you laugh with her.

The two, or rather, the five of you are walking slowly through the park very late at night. One Rainya is one either side of you, one is walking in front of you, her hips swaying in an exaggerated motion as she walks. And the last one is behind you, her hands on your hips. You’re surrounded by Rainya’s, and honestly, you’re kinda turned on by that idea.

“Someone could see you!” you hiss at her “We could both get in trouble.”

“See what?” says Rainya from behind you “There’s no one here, its dark anyway, what’re they going to see, a bunch of girls going home after a night out?”

“Yeah” says the one in front, turning around and walking backwards as she looks at you “Nothing is going to go wro-”

“Rainya look out!” you yell, exploding into motion and tackling her, even as the guy steps out from behind the tree and swings a club at the back of her head. The swinging club whistles overhead and you and the front-most Rainya tumble to the ground. You lift yourself up on your hands and knees, over a surprised Rainya as the others three gather in close.

All around you rough-looking men are emerging from behind trees and bushes, carrying some combination of clubs with occasional electricity sparks flying from them, machine-knives that they’re powering up, and heavy-looking pistols. There’s maybe 30 of them in total. One of them is in a suit, and carrying no weapons at all, you recognise him.

“Donni” you breathe in surprise.

“Shee Hyul” he says calmly “I heard you wanted to see me, I know you’re one of Garrax’s pets, and you’re probably Reunited, which is all the reason I need to want you dead.” To his thugs he says “Do what you want with the other girls, but make sure the redhead dies.”
