>I don't need to tell you what day today is

The bright pink of the rising "sun" continues to grow in intensity. Beaming through the small window behind you, it fills the entire room, reflecting off the blank surface of the kitchen counter as well as the polished tea cup the strange looking girl, apparently known as Heidi von Augsburg, is still sipping from.

"Unnerving, isn't it?" She comments.

You nod in agreement

"Don't worry," She continues. "I'm sure we'll get used to it. Though I'd rather not."

You are the Loli Talker, aka Nee-chan, a specialist dealing in bringing unreasonable lolis to reason, and you are currently engaged in a perfectly civil conversation over tea with a pointy-eared little girl whose "sister", adopted apparently, attempted to kill you for the second time just a few minutes before. All of this of course took place in an alien world of supernatural origins apparently populated by many more girls of similarly supernatural nature. You're fairly confident this was never part of your job description.

So far you've been fairly polite and refrained from remarking on the obvious, but seeing as it has barely been a year since you forcefully learned not to think of 'supernatural' and 'fictitious' as synonyms, you're fairly lost here. If you want to stop fumbling blindly about, you'll have to be blunt.
>>
>>38064908
"I'm sorry if this is rude, but... what exactly are you and Valerie?"

Heidi does not appear offended by the question, instead giving you a sly smile as she runs a finger over the point of her left ear.

"In other words, what are our weaknesses?"

"Wha- no, that's not what I-" You respond hastily, before being cut off.

"It's fine. We're friends now, yes? And I suppose if you knew what to do with the knowledge, you'd already have figured it out on your own."

Unfortunately, she's right. You don't know the weaknesses of any kind of supernatural creature, since your experience with them is minimal. Perhaps Andrea could teach you, if you asked her. When you find her, that is.

"Me," Heidi continues, "I'm just your average changeling." She point to her ear with one hand as she goes on. "Quite a few of us here, though none of us are quite the same as you... well, I suppose you didn't know? But there you have it."

You vaguely recall that word. Something about children of fairies and elves swapped with human children? Or was it the other way around? Heidi gives you little time to search your memory as she continues her answer.

"And Vally, I think I just told you before, she's an angel."

"Wait wait wait, you mean an actual...?"

The girl grins in response to your hesitation.

"Well not anymore, obviously. But it's not very nice to go rubbing that in, don't you agree?"

Immediately she jumps from her seat, giving you a quick wave as she rapidly makes her escape from the kitchen.

"Well, no time for lectures, I'd rather not be late."

"Wait, I still want t-"

The slam of the door is the only response you receive.
>>
>>38064926
Well, looks like you're left alone here now, and you're not really any closer to finding Andrea. Outside, you see the streets filling with dozens of cheerful young girls, all headed in the same direction. Leaving would definitely get you noticed by just about everyone.

However, that may not be a bad thing. If you can avoid whatever a horde of freaky little girls may try to do to you, you'd certainly be sure to find Andrea. Or be found, rather.

>Wait it out here, surely they'll be off the streets again soon?

These are very bad ideas you're having now. The kind of ideas that have always gotten you in trouble, the kind of ideas that became the only way you knew to earn your father's undivided attention. But this isn't about him.

You slide your hands over your pockets for a quick estimate of your remaining supplies. Your offering to Valerie hasn't quite depleted your stash of sweets, but it has certainly weighed you down more than it is. And you're not sure any of the other oddities you carry would be useful against an entire town's worth of excited little girls. Excepting of course... the not-quite-magical bag of marbles.

Supposedly these shiny glass spheres will easily draw the full focus of anyone with even a hint of desire for shiny goodies. Hopefully that will be all of them. And if that fails? You can faster than they can. You hope.

This should be fun. Only one more thing before you make your move. Where will you go?

>Go against the stream?

>>
>>38065644
Ah, perhaps I should explain. It's actually a question about your tactic. Going with the stream means that anyone you have to pass will have a harder time reacting, but you'll also end up exactly where they are headed.

Going against the stream, everyone you pass will see you coming, but you're moving away from where they're gathering so if you don't get stampeded on the way, you'll have fewer excitable laser lolis chasing you.
>>
>>38065879
Eh, I'll still vote with it, seems decently likely she'll be near where they're going so it's a lead.
>>
Could, uh...use another vote.
>>
>>38066290
Deleted mine, tie broken
>>
>>38066290
Oh. So we could. I definitely didn't misread the votes and start writing under the belief that a 3-1 majority had been reached.

Nope.

Never happened.

But unless a new vote trickles in, I'll just stick to the one I thought had won in that completely hypothetical scenario and pretend I rolled for it. That seems fair.
>>
>>38066428
How naughty.
Looks like nee-san is regressing!
>>
>>38066408
Ahh!

Fine, I'll rewri- I mean start writing. Yes, nothing to rewrite if I hadn't started at all yet. Don't mind me, just being silly here, that's all!
>>
>>38066558
Everything conspires against you today it seems.
>>
>>38065543
You're going to be chased. And when you're being chased through the streets, you prefer going against the stream. Sure, it means that if you do crash into someone it hurts a lot more, but the crowds are usually very good about getting out of your way when they can see you coming. And in this you'd also be heading away from where the girls are convening, which is probably a good idea. The fact you have an established preference at all is probably a bit of a sad remark on the way your life has played out for you so far, but that's really a worry for another time.

Steadying yourself, you draw the first marble from the bag, and gently nudge the door open. Time to clear the path. With a forceful toss, you send the marble flying out the door and through the air. The reaction is immediate, a chorus of high pitched screams booming through the streets.

Opening the door the rest of the way, you see the street immediately outside Heidi's house has been conveniently cleared as the girls have gathered into a single writhing pile of hair-pulling and pinching. Not very nice, but not your concern right now. You're only just getting started. You sprint past the fight and further into the streets.

You pass no more than a few houses however, before you're met with a group of four girls in matching uniforms. Upon seeing you, they've stopped in their tracks to simply stare in awe at what you're quite certain is the tallest person to ever set foot in this town.

>Try to pass them before they decide you're too interesting to ignore

They're confused, and there's only four of them. Barely even worth mentioning as far as you're concerned. You will need far more of them if you're going to make as much noise you want.

Effortlessly you slip between the middle two before they've even agreed between themselves if they should care, especially with the screeching coming from the fight you just started in front of Heidi's house. That won't do of course, so you quickly slip the second marble from the bag, waving it above your head.

"Come on, the fun is this way!" You call out, just to make sure you've got their attention.

"Shiny!"
"I want it!"
"It's mine"
"Come back!"

>Pursuing lolis: 4/??

Looks like that worked great, but you need them making a lot more noise! You continue at a pace that easily falls within the category of comfortable for you which is still slightly faster than the girls. Fortunately, even though you quit the team long ago you still know how to run.

Ahead, you come upon a decision to be made as the street splits into two. On the left, you see a fair number of girls strolling through the street and, at the far end, what appears to be the outer edge of the town. If you head down that way, you'll be safe once you lose the pursuers but you're uncertain if you've managed to attract the attention you wanted yet.

On the right the street widens quite a bit, no doubt to accomodate the higher traffic caused by the large oval structure at the end which you assume to be a stadium for whatever games are played around here. You're sure to find a lot of attention here, but the stadium may provide you with good hiding spots to compensate.

>Go left, towards the town limits?

Right! Definitely the right! The more noise the better, and if you're perfectly honest you're a little curious to see what these girls like to play. Ahead of you awaits a much larger crowd, though fortunately for you they're all bunched up into groups of three instead of one big group. Among them, you note a few being blatantly inhuman, one with a set of horns protruding from her forehead, one with wings instead of arms, and probably a couple more that you're not managing to pick out from the crowd.

One, two, three, four, five. Five groups of three makes fifteen!

That's a much better number. If you get all of them riled up, you should definitely make the noise you need. Now you just need to decide how to do so safely.

>>38069700
Okay, let's keep it simple: they all work as big sisters. Yeah the actual word would depend on language used but some variation on 'big sis' or whatever is what they're all called when on the job. Nee-chan is as generic a title as you get.
>>
>>38069199
If you can slip past them and lead them to the stadium, you may not have to expend a marble that you may well need later. It may have been safer to just distract them right away, but hey, you're not afraid of playing it dangerous.

These girls respond much more quickly, a fact probably attributed to the marble you're still waving about to keep the attention of the girls behind you. Already they're breaking from their groupings to convene on your location. You wouldn't be a star player if a bunch of little girls could stop you, of course, and you instinctively skip to the left just before they would have reached you, letting the girls slam into each other with a wail.

All of them it seems, except the horned one. Still not having moved from her initial spot, she now stands a short distance before you with an impish grin.

It's clear that the girl is up to something, but sadly you have no idea what it is. Recalling your father's lessons from before the evil witch turned him into a pushover, you know that the best move when in doubt is to display complete confidence to throw off your enemy and unnerve them. For that reason, you set into a hard sprint straight for the girl.

Sadly, this does not seem to bother her at all, as she suddenly becomes completely engulfed in flames, leading you to quickly regret your decision. You'll have to dodge around her, but surely with a weapon like that she has the range to catch you regardless.

You're about to make a full stop, preferring the small horde behind you over the idea of being scorched by the horned girl, when the girl suddenly drops both hands to the ground, launching a line of flames outward from her and... slightly to your left?

You don't question the source of your luck and immediately skip to the right, easily making it past the girl as she growls in anger. A moment later, she joins the pursuing crowd charging past her.

>Pursuing lolis: 19/??

With no more standing between you and the stadium, you now only need to get rid of the girls behind you.

That almost went bad there, but you can't help smirking to yourself after getting away from something like that. Hopefully you won't get too addicted to near-death experiences. From here on, it's bound to be a lot easier. Gingerly you stuff the marble in your hand back into the bag where it belongs, reluctant to spend one if you don't need it.

You know stadiums like this one tend to be littered with labyrinthine hallways, hiding in there will be easy. Even better, the girls are sure to make enough of a ruckus while searching for you, Andrea should have no problem following your trail. What a great plan this turned out to be!

The fact that the stadium is closed at this time proves to be no obstacle at all, a low-hanging iron chain with a red 'closed' sign attached taking the place of what would normally have been locked doors, cameras, movement sensors...

As it would appear, the population of this town is an authoritarians dream as most of the girls stop dead in their tracks before the entrance, uncertain what to do next. The remaining number make no hesitation to follow you, but despite their efforts you're already crossing the first corner, coming upon a long hallway lined by doors on both sides and a large staircase a short distance ahead.

>Rolled 93 (1d100)

Your pondering of where to go is brought to a screeching halt when a door on your left swings open and you're forcefully pushed inside by an unseen force.

Gee, she's supposed to be the smart one and you still have to explain your brilliant plan to her?

"It was a great plan! That's why it worked perfectly!"

"You almost got caught."

Her chose hideout appears to be one of the locker rooms. Not a spectacular hiding spot, if not for the fact the door appears to have disappeared behind you.

She tilts her head at you, still frowning.

"Everyone knows we're here now."

Okay.

Maybe you can't win with arguments here, but you know her true weakness. Cautiously shuffling your feet you lower your gaze slightly. For the finishing touch, you lower your voice to a near whisper.

"I... I missed you?"

The effect is instantly visible as her cheeks flare up and pearls of sweat appear on her brow.

"Oh! I... I uhm... I missed you too?"

Haha, the poor girl is so adorably timid. And just like that, you're completely off the hook. Great job, Ayaka! You're so deviously clever!

...It still counts as clever even if it's not a lie.

"A-a-anyway!" She quickly tries to change the subject to hide her embarrassment. "We should be safe here, so we just have to wait it out and let everything calm down a bit."

She looks about the room nervously. There isn't much here, just walls lined with lockers, a few benches, and what appears to be a shower room at the far end of the room.

"It's not much, but I figured it's better than being stuck in the washrooms?"

You can think of plenty of fun things to do in either, but you probably shouldn't tell her that.

"We uhm," Again she begins to blush profusely as she stumbles over her words. "We c-c-could just... talk?"
