You ask about the city. You feel a bit sheltered, because everyone in the group seems to know about it except you.

Alloycaster is half a mining town, and half a vacation spot. The sunny shoreline is home to many cafes. It has a small surfer counter-culture, as well as a downtown media hub. It's the happening place to be.

People looking to make a name for themselves or get noticed on television wait outside the Pokemon Television Network station hoping their signs get picked up.

The hip crowd hangs on the boardwalk. It's not rare to see dance circles and impromptu coordinator performances.

On the waters people surf and show off acrobatics. You can surf on a board with Pokemon or surf on your Pokemon themselves. It's all about making a splash.

The mining happens more inland, near the edge of the city out of view of most people. Although there are a few specialized underwater mining locations off the coast too.

You nod, taking in all the information. “So about sticking out. Are we talking punk makeover for everyone? Show off our talents? Trashing the local mall?”

You catch Vance glancing between you and Robin’s eye, but he tries to hide it. “I’m down for whatever. Just let me know what you think is best and I’ll back it one hundred percent.”

Jeanine smiles wickedly. “Going all punk could be fun! Just leave the makeup to me!”

Clair looks in favor. “Being a rude punk will definitely get you noticed. Alloycaster chumps are always impressed by people that act like they don’t give a crap about them. Plus you get to say what you want.”

Robin meekly pets Joltik. “I don’t know about trashing a mall...My dad would be really mad if I were arrested.” As she says that last part, she seems to become less opposed.

Junior pauses for a second, but can’t keep his temper under control. “You bumped into me!” A larger crowd is gathering, making Junior even more unsure.

You smirk and turn around. “Oh, I thought serious trainers had right of way.” You give a challenging glare. “You going to do something about it?”

The silent crowd gives a few muted oooohs. Someone declares that you did not just say that.

“I remember you,” his voice is low and menacing. You tossed his badges into the bushes before. He probably had to look for them for a long time. In all honesty, you were just trying to avoid battling him while still saving face. But that was then.

Junior brightens up on seeing you, but his face goes back to anger as well. “Hey! Is everyone going to just ignore me?”

You give Junior a confident smile. “I think Dick here is just avoiding you because he’s scared. Maybe you should take him on.”

Junior nods and turns to Dick. “Ha! You are scared, aren’t you?”

Both Pokemon spring into action. Garchomp moves faster, slashing at Destiny right before getting a blinding, oily cloud of smoke right in it’s eyes. It still manages to land it’s attack on her, but it looked sloppy.

Garchomp tries to flail at her as she bounces away. You’re sure that if Destiny had gone first, Garchomp would have missed wildly. At least now she has the advantage for the next move.

The crowd grows larger and more interested.

Richard stomps his feet. “Garchomp! Focus! Don’t let some amateur trick get to you, you’re bred for this!”

Garchomp sharpens it’s razor wings against each other. You feel like it’s also getting a better sense for where Destiny will be moving as she bounces around.

You take this chance to go on the offensive. “Ice Beam!”

A strong, cold beam explodes from Destiny, nailing Garchomp dead on. It instantly covers the threatening dragon in ice, keeping it unable to move.

The crowd goes wild as Garchomp can’t move. Richard looks on in stunned disbelief before getting a hold of himself again.

That snooty girl with annoying laugh yells over at you. “You got lucky. Garchomp isn’t technically out yet, so don’t get cocky!”

She’s right, Garchomp still might be able to break loose.

“Come on! Break out and shred that little runt of a Pokemon!” Richard screams at his pedigree monster.

The Dragon Pokemon struggles in the ice in futility. You feel a bit bad for it, given it’s trainer.

“Come on Destiny, Finish it off with another Ice Beam,” You say in a muted tone.

The crowd yells loudly as Destiny does a showy flourish in the air and lets another Ice Beam loose. Garchomp is coated in an impossibly thick layer now. It shatters under the intensity and Garchomp falls to the ground, completely out.

It’s a humiliatingly quick defeat of Dick’s first Pokemon. You see him grinding his teeth in anger, but still trying his best not to show it.

He pulls Garchomp back and reaches for another ball. He’s probably going to throw out a counter to Destiny. If you act quick, you can toss out another Pokemon at the same time.

You see him unfold his arms as Destiny coats his Pokemon is scalding hot water, leaving a harsh burn. Electivire doesn’t pause though, and nails Destiny with his retaliatory strike. As agile as she is, she can’t evade it.

Even though it’s a super effective move and the same type as Electivire, you’re still surprised at how powerful it is. You grudgingly admit to yourself that his Pokemon have an impressive amount of raw power.

She lands on the ground, unable to battle. Although most of the crowd that isn’t in his entourage seems to be cheering for you, they still all go nuts at seeing your Pokemon knocked out.

He flips his scarf, trying to win back his dignity with that turnaround. “Ha! Idiot! I told you not to mess with me. Hurry up and bring out the next victim so I can wrap this up. I have places to be, you know.”

You bring back Destiny, giving her praise for a job well done. You have to be careful. he may be a jerk, but he wasn’t exaggerating the strength that his Pokemon have.
