>Summary:
You are Heracor Nahive, techpriest working as an escort for the mighty Commissar Oihan Alzador and currently in the Death World of Plinia Vesus to mitigate the riots and disturbs that the thousands of prisoners destined there are creating and secretly to avoid the uprising of an ancient and incredibly powerful Khorne Bloodthirster.

Fire in the Skin grabbed the scared child from his dead father’s grasp and then comforted her signing a soft song.

“Father in the sky,
With his angels of Night,
Eternally observing from behind,
Like the Sun is his might…”

Before you could hear more of that song Oihan grabbed you towards the Purgatory Astartes cell while mumbling something under her breath.

“Mind to explain what is happening in there?” She asked roughly.

“Apparently there is an Astartes prison on the planet, something that only the high ranked members could know.”

“Somebody like ME.” She remarked, undoubtedly, she was informed about it and you didn't told her anything new.

“Y-yes. Well the drop pod that carried this particular Astartes fell on the lava sea instead of the island, he with his inhuman strength and endurance was somehow able to reach the coast. If I recall correctly the only way of making it back to his special prison was by air transport. A Valkyrie while able to make it would be surely destroyed on its way and a Thunderhawk transporter would have gathered way too much attention and raised lots of questions…without a better solution they decided to cage him down there, and twenty years have passed since then.”

“I didn't know about this…” Answered Oihan with honesty on her words.

“I think that nobody did.” Intervened the marine. “Who would want to know about an Astartes that has spent two decades doing nothing. Even the lowliest peasant has been more useful than I was. All the Imperium and specially our Primarch Guilliam would be ashamed of me.”
His rage seemed to disappear, being turned into an impotent despair.

“I am sorry, angel of death. But the battle dragged me away from this point. I swear by the Deus Mechanicus that I couldn't come sooner.”

He didn't answer. Oihan raised her last remaining weapon and with an accurate bolt shoot broke the hinges of the thick door that enclosed him.
>>
>>38721160
For the first time in twenty years the marine was able to see another living being. His armour was dusty, coating its original red colors with an ashen crust, it still seemed to be completely functional thought.

Two more shoots broke the chains and let him free, his stiffen arms receiving sensory stimulation after such a long time and making him feel pain once more. Even undertrained he was able to remove the other chains by himself, especially after I returned him his weapons, a powersword and a plasma pistol.

The giant placed them into their respective scabbard and holster and slowly walked out, towering over us and imposing both fear and respect as he got closer and closer.

His armor was red and adorned with yellow highlighting. His white helmet and the contrast of its green lenses were noteworthy on them. Yet what got your attention wasn’t his aesthetic, but the sacred mechanisms that he wore as armor. If I returned to my homeworld and told the other techpriest about me being so close to such a sacred relic they wouldn’t believe you.

“What’s the actual objective?” Asked the demigod marine, referring to Oihan, as she was the most high ranked member despise being a regular human.

“We came here searching for this man, the planet is doomed and there is no way of saving it now. The navy in orbit was doubtful of declaring an Exterminatus due to the presence of the Inquisitor. Our next current objective is carry him and his daughter up to orbit, his death will be warrant enough to unleash the holy cleansing fire that this world needs.”

“NO!” Said the daughter. “Mommy is coming! We have to wait for her!”
>>
>>38721171

The marine completely ignored her. “There are surely many loyal marines still incarcerated, they need to be informed and taken out.”

Oihan doubted, she wanted to deny him but doing so terrified her.

“We are now having a small pocket of peace as the enemy has already devastated most of this area and is now attacking other places of the HQ. If we wait too long the spaceport might become way too damaged for taking off or all the available ships become destroyed.”

>Intervene and ask the kid for her mother.

>Try to calm the might of the marine and help him.

>>
>>38721177
We should at least held to the space/aeroport. It will likely have more survivors and possibly a comm system. If the marines have not already left, fallen or been evacuated we may be able to vox them from there. As it is we need to secure transport quickly. If the flying heretek gunship at the train is any indication, skies are in contention as much as the ground. If the mother shows, so much the better.

While we look for aerospace asset/transport we should ask the kid about her mother.

Also agree with what he said, we should head for the spaceport even if we don't want to get off planet, may also snag a valkyrie. Or something rated for vacuum so we can get around or GTFO

Head to space port, see if we can pick up a vox caster so we can know what is happening, Calm kid down and ask her about mom while we walk. We need more info before we commit to anything. Hell for all we know spaceport is overrun or hereteks have air superiority.

With a sign you ordered Fire to carry the small girl towards your group. Apparently she was totally ignoring the tribal and listening to us via the use of her powers anyway.

"Tell me, small one, why is your mother coming?" She seemed scared of you but since you were the only one interested in her she ended answering.

"Mom is an inqwesitor like Daddy. She's really strong and can special like me..."

A psyker inquissitress was coming, maybe with her help the fight against the enemy could be turned in your favor.

"A battleground is no place for a small spirit, besides her mother is coming there. Why don't some of us stay while the others try to contact the Angel warriors and help defending the spaceport?"

You looked at the rest, they all agreed but nobody except maybe the own Fire wanted to stay and take care of her. Everybody was kinda creeped by her powers and didn't wanted to do that kind of task after all.

"Do not even think about it feralist. I am not trained in the care of infants. This is not the destiny that the Emperor and my Primarch forged for me for." Said the Marine with its deep vox caster.

"Even if I am the only woman in there I also doubt that I could protect her, I am a warrior not a nurse." Said Oihan, agreeing with the Astartes.

"All I could do would be maintaining the machine spirits of her bionics happy and functional, I do not have any pediatric knowledge." You added.
>>
>>38721689

"Still... Who knows, the enemy might try to attack this place at any moment. And even if Fire is the only one who would agree to do it he cannot perform that task alone. He's a medic not a fighter, with only his help the survival of her is not guaranteed."

"And what do you suggest then, Hooded Machine?" Said a somewhat relieved Fire for having some support at least.

>Make two teams of two, one goes to the comm machines and spaceport and the other stays there defending the place and the girl. ( Choose the persons )
>Make a team of one person and send some guardsmen for support. ( Choose the person who stays )
>Change of opinion and decide to take the girl with you.

>Change of opinion and decide to take the girl with you.
If mommy's a super psyker I doubt she'll have trouble finding her daughter, and the other options strike me as inherently more dangerous (I realize the irony of saying that while dragging a kid into a warzone). Also we should check the inquisitor for anything critical, like a special voxcaster, tech, or a least grab his rosette (give it to the kid). And if we do end up leaving her with fire at least let them hold up in the astartes super cell, I'm sure there's some quick modification we could make to have it lock and unlock from the inside..

I think it's best to push her into the sisters still, get her purified up and trained for burning. Maybe we can come back and loot her once she's finished training - hell by then we probably rank high enough to legit get a retinue.

>Change of opinion and decide to take the girl with you.

"Look, we have a medic, we have a Commissar, a techpriest and even a Space Marine, I think that she is most safe with us around that without us."

"Ok, we carry the warpdamm girl, but she's your responsibility, Heracor." Said the Commissar, then advanced towards the Marine before making the Aquila with her hands.

"Commissar Oihan Alzador to serve you and the Emperor. Those are the medic Fire in the Skin and the techpriest Heracor Nahive."

"Julianus Domusalba." Answered the Astartes with a small head nod.

"Fire, go and look at the body, try to find the cause of death.Heracor, go with him and look at his gear, inform me of anything useful that he carried."

You two walked, before reaching the body of the Inquisitor Rodan you looked back one last time. The Commissar was grabbing the kid's hand while talking with the giant marine.

Fire went first, stripping the body and leaving all the stuff to analyze on one side for you. Most of it's gadgets were way too damaged or strange for you to understand, all of them had some kind of blood on them and reek of death.

The items you managed to analyze were:
>//One of his Archaeotech laspistols. It' was compatible with your power packs. The other pistol was missing.
>//Broken voxcaster. The last person he talked with was the Sister Hospitalier, who knows what kind of grimm destiny awaited for her.

"Died of his wounds, seems that he acted as a shield for all the slashes that those madmen inflicted on him, there are also some strange cuts that seemed to be burning and emanating heat yet they didn't close no matter how many times I sew them, the heat burned the string."

"Daemonic wounds, more concretely ones inflicted by Bloodletters," Said the Julianus with a stern and worried voice.

"Seems like he found the enemy in direct confrontation and went down there were he would be both hidden and protected by the sacred seals of the vault door. The two guards died defending the entrance of his lord...What about his loadout?" Asked Oihan.

"One of his guns, his Rosette, a broken voxcaster and a pic-capture."

"Give me the picture, the gun and the Rosette, if her mother is also an Inquisitor she would want to keep those."

"Nooo!!" Yelled once again the small kid, this time jumping to grab the Rosette and the picture. Clinching to them hard as they were the last two mementos of her dead father.

"We cannot waste more time."

The marine advanced with a heavy stomp that made us all quiet down. He activated his power sword and his plasma pistol and exited the bunker ignoring any dead body on its path.

What do they should focus on first? (Choose only one)

When catching up with the thread her talk of waiting for mother immediately made me think her mum was eldar and involved with the ones Heracor is.

Some space marines would be great right about now... criminal or no... besides, the one inquisitor capable of accusing us of being heretics for doing so is dead, and we've got the other ones daughter! We literally have nothing to lose!
>>
>>38722580
We performed an (Admittedly hurried) spine operation on her so I'd have thought we'd have noticed anything untoward about her appearance. Depends on how much the inquisitor was bearing down on us and whether we could afford to be even slightly distracted mind you.
>>
>>38722607
Good point, of course we know little about biology, and if she was weird inquisidad could have told them to keep quiet about it. Like I said shadowrunning. But this sort of setting lends itself to shadow runs.

>Contacting with Purgatory and the other Astartes.

You didn't knew much of Astartes biology but if they were so strong like the one you were next to the chances of them being still alive was pretty high. In your opinion contacting them was something primordial, both because it was the option with most chances of success and also because their help might be able to change the tide of the battle.

"We should go to the comm stations, I could look after the machinery, Oihan and Julianus will be really useful to contact with their use of codes and other procedures."

The marine was on vanguard, advancing several feet in front of us, he thought was still able to hear my propostion.

"Well thought, tech priest."

Luckily there was no need to check maps or so, most corridors had indications and colored lines that lead to the different areas. Following the blue line quickly sent us towards the Comm tower, we had to avoid piles of bodies, debris, lethal gas leaks and even some late and lost prisoner that had no chance against the marine.

Passing by their bodies revealed inhuman features, horns, red skin and claws, it seemed that the daemons were starting to be able to possess their artificial and weak souls.

The tower was a wreck, most consoles and cogitators smashed and filled with bodies, there was a poor guardswoman tied to a satellite dish and being devoured by crows. Several desecrating blood graffities were on the walls.
>>
>>38722722

"Do your work, Heracor." Said your Commissar.

While the rest defended the entrances and formed a ring around you started checking the machines, trying to find one that still worked enough to contact with such a distant place. Finally one was able to send and receive, the signal was pretty weak thought. When activating it sent a high pitched noise across all the vox casters, from the tower the lingered prisoners who heard from us started running towards our position, soon we would be rushed by them.

>Try to contact them yourself. Let the others defend you.
1d100. 90 or more is success.

>Let the Commissar use her credentials and contact with the marines.

"I have contact! Oihan message them, they wouldn't believe me."

Her eyes were locked on the door, she needed some time to get back to reality and hear what you were yelling.

"Aw shit, ok! Get in my position!"

You switched parts with her and looked around to find skulls to convert, your HUD rejected most of them, way too damaged or tainted for successful conversion.

On your head a silent and private conversation was held.

>++// 1-8 Morte AL//RB start protocol 113. New instruction:
>++//1: Go to (DEAD ++ SKULL)
>++//>++// IF (DEAD ++ SKULL) = TAINTED GOTO 1;
>++//>++// OR (DEAD ++ SKULL) = BROKEN GOTO 1;
>++//>++// ELSE CARRY (DEAD ++ SKULL) TO ROOT;
>++//>++//END;

With those simple instructions the servoskull started to search heads to grab and if useful take them to you. Meanwhile you started sharing your processing power between your proxy drone and your aiming bionics, you needed to be fast and aim correctly, sharing those wrong could lead into your death.

"TechPriest! There are some lasguns in there and some deactivated turrets, do you think you could turn the guns into mines and activate them?"

Activating the turrets was no problem but about turning the lasguns into bombs...Was it possible? Yes. There is nothing impossible for a true follower of the Omnissiah, Could I do it? Yes. The Omnissiah granted me knowledge for such actions. Would I do it? No. That would be tech-heresy...yet you still had doubts about denying yourself to such an order.

About the drawing:
Heracor is red and maroon, Oihan is black, Julianus is red/white and Fire is Brown.
>>
>>38723377
"TECHPRIEST!" He roared, as you ignored him the first time and became lost on your thoughts.

With a shy and nervous nod you gave to Julianus the answer he wanted, then started to feel the vibrations of the ground, the enemy was getting closer.

Meanwhile Oihan tried to contact.

"Commissar Oihan Alzador speaking from the Comm Tower of the HQ. Is there any Astartes in purgatory...?"

She was scared, if there was something that was able to kill the marines out there then it would wipe them out easily. Besides he was afraid of hanging out too soon and then discovering that there were truly marines on the other side. If that happened she could be judged for abandoning those Astartes instead of aiding them, she wasn't scared of death, she was more afraid of the dishonor that the Traitoris condemn carried.

"I'm gonna try something!" You yell.

"SQUAD BROKEN!" Answered the marine back, even louder than you.

Your legs ran and pushed you into the first turret, it was just powerless, quickly you plugged and rebooted it, then went towards the next one. The first enemies breached the perimeter, they were once again mindless, having lost their humanity to the daemons. Those weren't the weak pink guys or the human like clones, those were the next evolutionary step.

With a jump and your chainsword you parried the first one that assaulted you, to your surprise it wasn't using a weapon like you but its own arm. The metallic blades barely were able to cut its daemonic enforced skin, luckily the well aimed bolts of Julianus killed the possessed creature and let you advance once more.

On your back you saw the bolts flying and killing those creatures in great numbers, the plasma shoots of Fire also managed to pierce a few of them and finally when the turret booted its twin linked flamethrowers rained holy promethium over their sinful bodies.

As you were tinkering with the second turret your sevoskull brought the first sample to work with. A few seconds later the second turret and the first proxy drone were done.

Close to you there was a blinking vox caster. There was a pilot contacting from the air asking for the misterious signal that attracted the enemies and if we needed help.

>Ask the pilot to inform from the situation on the Spaceport.
>Ask the pilot to kill as many prisoners as possible.
>As the pilot to destroy the bridge that connects the building and severing the entrance to the enemy.
>Ignore the pilot, focus on your fight.
>Free action.

"Techpriest to Pilot, techpriest to Pilot! Do you read me!?"

After some buzzing and static he answered back.

"Roger, I am the last bird of my squad and my promethium deposit is almost empty, I am not gonna make it. What can this Imperial Pilot do on the last minutes of his life?"

That voice sounded quite familiar, it was the same Valkyrie pilot that took you and Oihan to MegaPrison 03 once it was severed by land.

"I need a report about the Spaceport"

With a beep he answered back.

"Spaceport is still somewhat operational, it is almost empty, only a frigate or two are still on land, waiting for the last survivors, it is also defended by a few soldiers and some gun-servitors, the skitarius did a good work setting the defense, feel proud, techpriest."

Soldiers defending the spaceport? Placed by the Skitarii? Those men and women were surely the penal guard that was generated from the people that you rescued from the Crystalline Underdark, it seemed that the only sane prisoners would not had the chance to truly escape their doom after all.

"How about the enemy around us, can we stand a chance?"

"Most are already into the building advancing towards you, I would say their numbers are around the hundreds. Unless your team is roughly the same number I would say that the enemy might win, I am no logis thought, numbers aren't my strong point. Anyway, I hope the Emperor is -"

Before he could finish his final message the last drop of fuel was burnt on his engines and he fell to his death, the ship exploding in a mass of fire that managed to kill about twenty of them as it went down.

You looked back, there were about thirty people lied dead on the ground, most of them thanks to the power sword of the Marine, and the turrets, the medic covered behind the thick ceramite power armor shooting when it could.

"They are coming!!" Yelled Oihan, she was ecstatic, her bolt pistol soon joined the barrage of fire. With the morale of such a good news Fire became less afraid and started shooting more intensely...even with the added power of your lasgun and the turrets it wouldn't be enough. This would be another failed last stand like the others that had happened during this day.

We underestimated the enemy and it lead to our doom. What once looked like a simple eradication and recruitment mission had become into a full scale genocide of both sides and into a following daemonic incursion that could end with the liberation of a Daemon that even the xeno are afraid of.

The tower was four stories tall, if any of you, with the exception of the marine, tried to jump they would break or damage its legs. Maybe Julianus could jump carrying you three...it was something strange but plausible. Maybe you could also use the hotshot overcharged mode of the lasgun to hole the ground and let a escape route to the floor below. Doing so would burn and entire power charge and you only had two fully charged, to reach the entrance you would need to find another two packs along the way.

>Try to overcharge the turrets and tell the marine to jump of the building carrying you three.
>Using the hotshot mode of your lasgun pierce a hole and descend a floor

The first roll needs at a minimum of three so he can reach the ground floor, the bigger the better because it will also give him more ammo to survive on the way to the Spaceport.

The second roll is is and optimal if it is about 7 or 8. If it takes too short it might make them be affected by the explosions and if it is too long some creatures might go after them and escape the boom.

7 and 5 lets him keep four power packs and gives the team five minutes to run.

>Snag some power packs from the discarded lasguns.
>Using the hotshot mode of your lasgun pierce a hole and descend a floor.
>Once we start jumping set the turrets to overcharge.

"I will make an escape route!" You yell.

Then you overdrive the servoskull's programming to gather as much ammo as it can. A few intense seconds later it throws five power packs for you.

As you introduce the first one you feel the lasgun vibrate once again as it readies itself to shoot such a big laser beam. You shoot at the ground, making a huge hole that eats some of the dead bodies and enemies, leaving a cushion for the rest.

Then you run towards the flamethrower turrets and overcharge them sending the remaining fuel they have into a unique salvo.

The group jumps, Oihan kicks in the head a lonely prisoner that managed to survive the fall, killing it instantly. Julianus is the last to jump, turning the dead body cushion into a red paste with its great weight. Howls can be heard from the upper floor as the first one start descending, you quickly grab the second power pack and ready yourself to open another hole.

Steam and smoke starts coming from the lasgun after you shoot it with such a great power in such a short cool-down time. It's machine spirit might not survive another two shoots like that.

Your shot hits a gas pipe and makes a hole way bigger than you had planned, after the fire is gone the entire building shakes, its structure becoming weaker by instants.

The space marine doesn't waits and jumps into the fire hole, seems like there were some creatures on that floor as the only thing we can hear coming from it is the sound of fighting and inhuman gurgles, probably daemonic in origin.

Using his iron grip he manages to close the pipe ignoring completely the fire shower that hits his armor, it is then when the building shakes and the rest descend. On the ground there are several Bloodletter bodies, they seemed to be unaffected by the fire and had to be killed by the sword.

Only one floor left. As you get the last power pack you can sense the machine spirit of your lasgun begging for mercy, unable to help it you aim again and charge, it goes fine the first seconds but then the spirit goes postal as the last remnants of its sanity are destroyed by your torture. The weapon gets red hot, unable to hold it you drop it on the ground, the heat it generates is so massive that it starts melting the floor and becoming one with it. From its core stray laser shoots fly and hit at random interval and directions.

Julianus takes the lead and drops a grenade close to the crazed gun, then with his powersword breaks the valve he just closed and with Oihan and Fire in the skin in each arm dashes towards the nearest window. You run behind him, regretting and punishing yourself for destroying your precious lasgun.

The fall isn't hard for neither of you due to your augmented natures. You thought you were safe but the warforged mind of the marine told him to continue running, due to instinct you followed. That saved your life, as seconds later the fourth floor exploded in a ball of fire and after that the third, second and first one came later. If you had been closer the shockwave would have ripped you in half.

Juliannus barely had ammo on his plasma gun, neither did Fire or Oihan and now you had lost your only distance weapon.

Huffing Oihan came with a solution.

Each one goes into a different path searching for weapons, Julianus climbs into a higher point to get track of ourselves and possible enemies and he stays with the small girl.

The place is a wreck, the smell of blood and fuel mix into my nostrils as I advance towards the path I taken. It leads me into a garage, sadly none of the vehicles is usable, seems like the enemy managed to control it and decided to convert the vehicles to their causes, since most of the defaced vehicles are still there they didn't went too far. Most lie dead, some of them even on the driver's seat, killed seconds before they could start the engine.

Even if it isn't your job you do your duty as a techpriest and decide to sacrifice those twisted machine spirits to please the Deus Mechanica. As you siphoned the promethium out of their deposits and poured them on the floor next to the flammable chemicals you encountered a lasgun next to the upper half of a dead guardsman. The gun was regular, nothing noteworthy from it; it had a few scratches but was fully functional. On the pouches of the body’s armor there were several power packs. To honor the dead man you used his lasgun to ignite the fuel and then you turned away and continued searching for a weapon.

There is a glint that gets your attention under a pile of rubble, as you start to dig you see it’s a blade, a gigantic blade by your standards, almost as long as you are and thicker than your arm. Using your Explorator dendrite you start removing more and more debris until you see it…another marine, this one wears a light grey armor with yellow highlights. It has several bone decorations and fur on his armor. You don’t need long to recognize the chapter it comes from.

The dead Space Wolf lies without an arm and his hole pierced side by side, it would had to receive the impact of a tank at pretty much blank point to end this way.

You look around and don’t see any other weapon; slowly you take it off the rock. While light by its dimensions it is a hard to wield sword for someone of your dimensions, you need to use both hands to use it correctly.

But that sword wasn't the only big discover that you did.

On the ground lied a small girl, a girl that you never hoped to see again. Seemingly unconscious lied the small guardswoman Arwa Harrorum. There was some dry blood coming from her nose and she was weakly holding her side, a thin trail of blood coming from underneath it.

>Call Fire and tell him to heal the girl.

You grabbed your vox-caster and contacted with the friendly medic.

"Heracor to Fire, do you copy?"

"Yes" Answered a somewhat distorted voice. Weird having in count how relatively close we were.

You looked upwards into the dishes, while not destroyed most were defaced with some kind of polygonal symbol.

"I have found a wounded friend. She needs your help. I am in the position X47 and Y376"

There wasn't an answer after that just a daemonic howl and the sound of a splintered group of possessed persons coming towards us. Apparently they intercepted and received my position.

You cursed loudly and grabbed the girl as best as you could, running towards the direction of the marine as the survival chances increased the closer you were to him. In her sleep Arwa made a pain groan and started bleeding, several drops of red sanguine leaving a trace of your direction.

After a few minutes you reached the mound that Julianus had climbed, he already saw the enemy coming after you and had readied a plasma barrage for them. Above your head several shoots of blue sunfire flew quickly and exploded on the weak flesh of the enemy, turning them into a gory mess.
>>

>>38727642

>>
>>38727642
"What happened!?" Yelled he as he recharged his gun.

You were unable to lie to such a mighty warrior, the truth came naturally from your interior.

"I found this wounded guardswoman and asked Fire to come and attend her by radio. The enemy intercepted the message."

"You underestimate the intelligence of chaos. They might be crazy but they aren't dumb. I have seen many battle-brothers do the same mistake that you did and not live to count it."

The sound of gunfire attracted Fire and Oihan but also many more enemies. Soon we were fighting in a circle, protecting Arwa and Fire as we shoot everything on sight.

Once again we found ourselves on a last stand.

>Send Julianus to the burning garage, there might be some vehicle that hasn't suffered damage and he seems impervious to fire.

Jury rig energy packs into grenades and lob them. After that stay close to space marine and alert him about the awaiting geneseed.

We already checked out damned vehicles...before setting them on fire. We don't stay close to him our odds of survival will sharply decline.

>>
>>38728022
Also, I'd like to point out that the people who actually care about tech heresy (tech priests, and inquisition) aren't around currently. Guardsmen and commisars don't usually care and space marines wouldn't know tech heresy if it slapped them in the face.
>>
>>38728071
Right now he is the conscious witness.

>>38728116
That is what they have tech marines for(which he isn't).

Hell the guards including commissars often do commit a little tech heresy its just they only care if its the real big/obvious stuff(like a deamon engine).

So right now we are actually pretty safe.

>Jury rig energy packs into grenades and lob them.

"Requesting backup of any kind. We have encountered the enemy! We are a Space Marine, a Comissar and a techpriest, we have a wounded person too!"

Only static or the distant sound of explosions and yelling, it seemed that there was still warfaring in other parts of the HQ.

"Julianus, I saw a garage in that direction...most the vehicles there were desecrated by the possessed so I decided to burn it down, why don't you go and try to find a vehicle we can use?"

He didn't liked the idea of receiving orders from somebody who was lower than him on the rank order, even if Heracor did his best to turn the order into a question. Begrudgingly the marine did as he asked as he felt still in debt for his crimes and wanted to help as much as he could.

Using his last grenade he opened a hole in the incoming enemies and using his power sword started slashing and advancing into the sea of enemies, his advance was considerably slowed but his efforts managed to kill in thirty seconds way more enemies than the rest of us combined managed to kill in all the time we spent on that mound already.

You connected the vox caster to your internal mechanical voice, setting it this way into a handsfree device. Then you exchanged Fire's poor weapon with yours while you created more grenades to hole the ground and the enemy lines.

In total you had ten power packs.

Quickly with valleys of las and plasma fire close to your head you manage to turn the power packs into several grenades. It isn't anything hard to make, just use a small wire to deadshort the circuits and make them explode. You learned this trick from a young initiate that had potential but lacked common sense, was discovered doing grenades like this and turned into a servitor even before turning fourteen.

You manage to create eight of ten grenades, some packs were damaged and would lose thermal energy, not becoming so explosive, but they would still work. A couple of them became perfect, their explosions would totally discharge their stored energy.

When the marine became out of the view your proceeded to launch the grenades, trying to make as much damage and buying as much time as possible.

The first one fell under the feet of a group of men that carried long bone carved knifes. They had no chance.

You threw the next two at the same time to a group of highly mutated prisoners, those seemed to came from MegaPrison 04 as they were way more mutated and hulking than the rest. Even with two explosions some of the managed to survive. The scoped plasma rifle of Oihan managed to end them when they were confused and stunned thought.

Third and four impacted into a wall that some of them were using as covering while aimlessly tried to shoot us with their primitive weapons or their stolen lasguns, the combined explosion of the two grenades didn't only destroy their cover but also overthrow a half ruined close building, killing them with the rock falling and closing a path.

You didn't used the perfect grenades, choosing to kept them for yourself.

The last grenade was used against a group that was advancing way too much. It only managed to slow it down as the prisoners who were behind soon started running over the dead bodies and taking their place.

As you weakly grabbed the pistol in a desperate attempt to defend yourself you saw a Leman Russ running over the mass of enemies, the marine struggled out of the hatch and while the vehicle still kept the momentum decapitated left and right, as there was nobody else to press the accelerator it ended slowing down until it got pretty close to our position.

"JUMP! I have contacted with some people on the radio!"

He went once again inside. We all jumped inside and feel the place completely crowded. Inside we were; Julianus, Arwa, Fire, Oihan, The dead Space Wolf, the small girl, and me.

The tank was designed to have a crew of five people, five normal humans, with two Astartes inside the travelling was hard and the temperature incredibly hot, besides having a dead giant hairy warrior that smelled like humid canine next to you wasn't enjoyable at all. We still kept our mouths shut and ride to the rendezvous point as we heard on the radio the several SOS and emergency calls.

"What should we do now?" Asked Fire.

"It's obvious...we go to the Spaceport." Answered Oihan.
>>
>>38729017
The short journey took a long time and became brutal, we all had to shoot and make our way, we even fought an enemy Leman Russ, luckily for us it only had a pilot and not a gunner and relied on bashing, kinda predictable from such a barbaric enemy, an intelligent foe would have run and got a gunner or two.

When we finally reached the spaceport you once again noticed how immense it was. There were only two ships left and one of them seemed to be under attack.

Suddenly the small girl seemed to be distressed and firmly gripped the Rosette.

"Mommy!!"

Even the Marine looked startled by her, Oihan while driving drifted lightly from the surprise.

"Where is it?" Asked her.

"I...feel her on that ship." She pointed upwards, then from the cloud of smoke that covered the sky a escort ship descended making an incredible noise and sending a lot of wind in every direction while landing. It's interior opened but it was impossible what appeared from the interior.

As you got closer you saw the same soldiers that you and the skitarii saved fighting and defending the apparently abandoned ship, if not helped they would die soon.

"That one seems to have some Imperial crew inside. If I got on it we could take off in no time." Said the Commissar pointing towards the second ship.

>Exit the tank and go help the Citizens of MP02 and the servitors.

So, before we make any choices here, can we talk a bit about what we think is going to happen?

-We could exit with the imperial ship.
-The planet's going to be exterminatus'd soon.
-The elves want our help with sealing the daemon or something.
-Anything else?
>>
>>38729327
>Exit the tank and go help the Citizens of MP02 and the servitors.
the loss of a ship like this is unacceptable, send the others to the Inquisitor ship while we work on the abandoned ship
>>

The grenades we have are tech heresy and can get us killed, in addition, a psyker inquisitor would likely dislike us on principle of not being able to read our mind and having her daughter have a damaged spine because of us.
>>
>>38729464
>We could exit with the imperial ship.
Yes, how else could you?
>The planet's going to be exterminatus'd soon.
It's a volcanic planet filled with heresy, no big loss.
>The elves want our help with sealing the daemon or something.
They want it to stay sealed, and that contradicts exterminatusing the planet. In case it is liberated they will just scoot away and leave the problem to the Mon'keigh.

Oh big time one of the worst possible things for us is to run into her. We need to git out before she can get her hands on us.

Preferably we make a last stand and then use the eldar to escape before getting killed.

Make them thing we died on the world and it would get the inquisition off our ass.
>>
>>38729746
Inquisition isnt on our asses, the one guy who suspected us of anything died due to legitimate reasons that we had nothing to do with, as did 99% of people that ever came in contact with our lose end (the cloned person), the only lose ends are the blind psyker girl, our commissar who thinks were a great guy, the space marine who thinks were a servant of the emperor, the skittari who are bros to us, and the eldar who can't really fuck us over if they wanted to .
>>
>>38729746
Pretty sure We're throwing the nades and fixing the ship for the 02ers. Faking last stands are hard.
>>
>>38729464

>>38729823
That space marine knows we dabble in tech heresy...considered he requested us to perform some and we did so.

Commissar might be suspicious considering she noticed us lobbing grenades we some how procured. Not sure if she knows HOW we got them though...

Skittari like us because we have shown ourselves to being of the few fight happy tech priests.

and the eldar can still fuck us over considering the teleporting/kidnapping bullshit they did to us.

Oh yeah we have witnesses for that going down now don't we? So how are we gonna explain it?

Don't forget the Inquisitor can find out about our lies with us being assigned.

>>38729825
Not really just gotta make sure there are no witnesses...

>Stand on the tank and go towards the Imperial ship.
>Throw your two remaining grenades at the enemies attacking the citizens of 02. To give them some room to take off as well.
>Exit the tank and go help the Citizens of MP02 and the servitors.

"Where are you going to head the Russ?" You ask Oihan.

"First into the Inquisitor ship, I'm gonna leave the girl and then head into my ship. Try to take most Guardsmen into orbit as possible. They are valiant and have stood there while the rest took into the stars, they deserve to be saved."

Struggling you managed to open the upper hatch and, but Julianus stopped you first.

"I let you have the sword because you were on my sight, but don't you dare to run away with it."

He grabbed the massive wolf adorned sword and then let you free. You threw the last two remaining grenades and cleaned most of the enemies that the prisoners were fighting, with a swift jump you got into the ground and ran towards them.

They were given better tech and armor but didn't quite looked like Imperial Guards, some of them even had bionic limbs, they all included explosive collars and better rebreather masks. One of them recognized and saluted you.

"It is good to see you again Skitarii Heracor. We are the last remnants of the recently created Plinian Penal Firehearts. We are just fifty, not enough to create a true regiment. We were ordered to defend this ship and the wounded inside at all cost."

"How many people is inside?" You asked.

"By the thousands, from servitors to wounded from several regiments and other factions. Everybody who was in the AdMech infirmary was also taken there for a extraction but the engines died and the ship got stranded. We have been defending it since then."

Lanky was there, Lanky had to be there. She wasn't extracted, she is not safe yet.

>Pic semi-related, how I somewhat Imagine those penal guard, but with some more AdMech and Imperial paraphernalia.
>>
>>38729918
Commisar not likely to care about minor tech heresey, only actual heresay, same w/ marine. Skittari will definately care, though only a little. No eldar, beware the knife ears. Inquisitor won't care, though she will be pissed off if we run off with HER kid.
>Ask Oihan to go towards the Inquisitor ship instead.
Inquisitor has the means to unfuck the situation, we won't likely find a better environment for some minor tech heresey either. More importantly though MAMA BEAR will want her kid!

You ran inside and after searching for what felt like an eternity you found not only her but some others Skitarii you fought with. All those people needed to be saved.

Down once again you saw them fighting with their lasguns against the last remaining possessed enemies. Those Penal Guard were skilled but few in numbers. There was no time nor way to move all those wounded into the ship Oihan wanted to take and convincing the Inquisitor might work or be totally impossible, hard to say without knowing her first.

With the soldier you spoke with you two enter in the bowels of the ship in the search of the activation runes and switches. Seems like the engine is not damaged, just need to be awakened from its slumber and direct the less energy as possible so it doesn't gets tired too quickly.

As you do the rituals and instruct the technologically ignorant you two manage to wake up the ship. The light soon start illuminating the room and the engine soon spins and pulsates as if it were a mechanical heart.

Then when you exit to inform everybody of getting inside you stop by your tracks as you see a woman wearing a strange armor and a facemask with a symbol you couldn't identify next to Lanky's bed.

He has strong opinions that interfere with much of the imperial mission, such as attempting to rescue the cloned girl who any normal imperial citizen would execute on site. In addition, we have quite the laundry list of crimes against the inquisition that nobody knows of yet and a disposition towards dirty xeno scum that would be questioned by many.

>>
>>38730777
Just because no one knows about all the valid reasons for us to be executed on site does not mean we haven't done them, were definitely far from an upstanding imperial citizen and we should be cautious as such, especially seeing we've got a heretek embedded in some part of our brain currently.

You first ignore the girl and contact the Commissar.

"I have some wounded in there. I managed to start the engines. We don't have to wait anymore, lets go to orbit." You vox message her.

"Roger roger" She answers professionally. Soon her ship starts to take off only to disappear in the smokey atmosphere. You did the same, when you got the greenlight and everybody was inside you turn on the engines and headed into the air. Finally you were going to be able to escape...

As you turn around you get frightened by your own distorted reflection. The masked woman is now inches away from your face, pushing her polished mask against you, after some time she goes back and tilts her head, somewhat confused.

"I am Inquisitor Karelia Hermann. Widow of the Inquisitor Rodan McDean. You have saved my daughter Mellizune. I am very grateful for that, techpriest."

Her voice was soft yet sharp and intimidating. Seeing your own warped face on her mask only made you feel more scared.

"This...woman. Is an interesting subject. My now dead husband spoke me a lot about her. I would love to know your opinion on the matter, it might make a great distinction between her life and...her death."

She offered you her gloved hand, each one of her fingers ended into a curved metallic claw like nail decorated with gold and minuscule, impossible to distinguish glyph, symbols, or litanies.

>>38730943

"You are another interesting subject indeed. Neither me nor my daughter can break into your mind and seems that what you see on my mask is not the true colors and appearance of your soul but your mere reflection...you are worthy of study too. It seems that you have other lords thought, it's a shame, I cannot control you mentally and if I jailed you the study would be biased and invalid."

As you slowly shook her hand she returned to next to Lanky.

"I am offering you to be part of my retinue, techpriest. Do not miss this opportunity."

After saying those words she activated her teleport homer and both she and Lanky disappeared in an instant.

"NOOOOOO!" You yelled at the thin air.

You were now alone with your ship. When you reached orbit you saw many Navy ships unleash the Exterminatus on the planet.

As they did this they also inadvertently broke the Ohte, the egg where the old BloodThirster was enclosed. The lava of the planet became redder and soon transformed into a shockwave of red blood that become gaseous in the void of space and sprayed all the ships, making them reek of blood and death even in such a sterile environment.
>>
>>38731180

>>38731216

>>38731180
heheheh oh god.

wtf we gonna do...

So should we call up the Eldar?

"Oihan to Heracor. Are you allright? What happened?"

From the surface and captured by dozens of satellites the image of a titanic daemon Hekatonkhiros appeared from the blood/lava sea. It had lithe limbs and narrow hips that engorged and became more wide and buff as they ascended towards its chest. A chest covered in arms that had several weapons on their hands, each one unique on its own way. This daemon was older than humanity and the weapons it carried were all thus xenos or daemonic in nature.

As the bombardment continued it roared loud, by some strange reason one of the closest ships exploded in orbit. No matter how many firepower we sent it seemed that both the already lifeless planet and the daemon were able to take it.

The combined strength of all Cruisers and the direct impact of a Nova Cannon was needed to send it back to the warp. But who knows when will it appear again....

After it was over there were some hours of confused silence. Not even the Inquisitor was really sure of what happened and she was being asked by everybody. During that time you managed to repair the Warp Drive and make most of the ship operational.

>Allright guys. This arc is over. We didn't managed to hold the daemon but we became stronger, and that was our first mission right?
>Now I give you four really important options, only one can be chosen and depending on what we choose we might have some companions or advantages.

>A: Fake your death and go with the Eldar
Companions: Elyadien / Other Eldar.
Advantages: Xenotech. Forbidden knowledge.

>B: Continue with Oihan
Companions: Arwa / Fire in the Skin
Advantages: More military tech and training. Friends.

>C: Join the Inquisitor.
Companions: Julianus / Lanky.
Advantages: Political Immunity. Strong companions.

>D: Fake a failed warp drive and run away, become Pirates.
Companions: No one so far.
Advantages: Your own ship. Your own army ( Servitors and Penal legion ). Liberty.

You guys have until the next Wednesday to vote.
>>
>>38731352
If they were ordo Malleus there would of been grey knights.

>>38731382
The problem is the heretical magos 'gifted' Payload hasn't even opened yet...
>>
>>38731410
Fuck... this is a tough one, I'm going to go between A-C, although guardsman life would be quite shit at this point.

The eldar are a losing hand no matter what, there species is dying and we'd be discriminated against by association.
>>
>>38731384
huh the space marine got recruited by the Inquisition?

>>38731442
They may very well be the only ones with the tech and know how that can save us.
>>
>>38731384
I'm going to say unless we are directly there to vouch for her, lanky WILL be tortured and executed. Everyone else will live on.
>>
>>38731384
I'm sure the advantages/disadvantages are a bit more complicated that that, right?

For example, I would assume that someone in the ][nquisition would have access to some things we couldn't get elsewhere.

Also, The eldar would probably be pissed about the daemon being free.
>>
>>38731459
of course he did. He proved himself loyal and likely wouldn't be accepted back into his own chapter.
>>
>>38731488
Pissed at US? Nah... Pissed at the imperium of man? Definitely. We've done good by them all in all for not interfering with there actions and for even assisting one of there own repeatedly.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d2)

Letting Arenji decide my vote
1 for Lanky
2 for Oihan
>>
>>38731459
It was the only logical option. He feels like needs to pay for his crimes and the idea of Inquisitors working with marines is not unheard of. Next to her Julianus will be able to hunt daemons and other scum.

>>38731488
Of course, if I gave all the info for free it would be way too easy wouldn't it?
>>
>>38731526
You know, barring one or two times where I was mildly frustrated at translation issues, you've done pretty good on your take so far. Keep it up.
>>
>>38731526
Huh so she was Ordo Malleus?

Why weren't there any grey knights then?
>>
Question, Arwa is the baby faced guardsman, right?
>>
>>38731572
She touched down on the planet for all of 5 seconds to secure a prisoner and her daughter.
>>
>>38731541
Thanks, it is really nice to hear compliments. I know that I sometimes fuck it up with the language but I try my best.

>>38731584
Yes. She appeared in the first threads and then became separated. The fact that he's not with her other two friends pretty much explains what kind of fate they had.
>>
What's with the sudden surge of popularity for remaining with oihan?
>>
>>38731633
Dice gods + She thinks we are the best thing to happen to her division since sliced rations.
>>
>>38731621
If we become Pirates, can we go on a quest to recover Lanky from the Inquisitor?
>>
>>38731674
If we don't rescue her in the next two weeks its almost certain she'd have been executed/euthanized. So probably no.
>>
>>38731674
Can we just say that that goal seems.. Ludicrously far-fetched?
Especially because she will die soon after the -][- leave
>>
>>38731674
>>38731691
Granted, if we vouch for her she will likely live.
>>
>>38731728
If we vouch... by going with the inquisition.
>>
Without spoiling anything, I'd like to remind EVERYONE here to vote. The vote can currently be swayed by one vote for almost anything.
>>
>>38731674
The pirate way is the one who gives most liberty as we are our own boss and we are the one who gives the orders, not everybody will take us kindly thought.

>>38731726
The Inquisitor is a Radical and after the operation Lanky became biologically human on a 90%. She doesn't seems as violent and hateful as her husband.

Will she study, torture and kill her? Maybe yes, Maybe not...
>>
Man, I really want to go with the eldar and I dont want us to be poked at with a scalpel and walk in to lanky with her ribcage wide open again.
also fuck inquisitors theyre the stupidest motherfuckers ever
>>
Inquisitors are always looking for exceptional people right?
Oihan, Fire and arwa are currently missing their division as everyone else is dead. They are stalwart, strong, stubborn and skilled. Why wouldn't she pick them up too?
>>
>>38731873
We're not going to get poked at with a scalpel, shes interested in our mind not our body. The one thing she could prod is likely not even visibly damaged.
>>
>>38731873
Then vote eldar.

They're the only ones who can potentially save us unlike the Inquisition.

WOOT having a damned payload in our mind and a faulty chip...

>>38731972
That would reveal a certain chip...and if they use tech to dig around our mind they WILL find certain payload...
>>
>>38731972
Im just salty the one i want isnt winning

You just want Eldar for butts and lewds, not realizing an Eldar would never touch us unless it was a smut quest. This isn't.
>>
You guys can stop samefagging now

It's about 2AM for me and I gotta wake up for class in 5 hours.

Gonna upload it to the archive now. As always feel free to send ask, suggestions and critics. I will answer them all tomorrow on my twitter.

Thanks everybody for this great thread and for following me even with my imperfect english.
>>
>>38732145
Also this is my first thread that reaches the 300 answers, you guys make me feel proud!
>>
>>38732039
That certain payload isn't in a physical form, it was digitally uploaded INTO our brain. They would NOT be able to find it.
>>
>>38732145
Couldn't we talk the inquisitor too pick up Oihan and the others? They've proven their valiantry, have seen chaos and are currently some of the few survivors of their regiment.
>>
>>38732079
No I don't its just they got the best tech short of Tau and are the best chance to save ourselves is through them.

Otherwise I would totally vote guard(with preferably less deamons).

But its too damn risky with us being a walking time bomb.
>>
>>38732194
They can root around by using our Admech implants to sift through it considering they are unable to do so the other way.

Doing so would eventually reveal the payload...

Remember they are interested in our brain/mind. Which just so happens to be where all our worst heresy is?

How about that.
>>
>>38732261
Isn't that all malfunctioning?
>>
>>38732209
Eldar tech is psy based and made using psicho mateirals we'd muck them up. Additionally their tech would be useless on the virus because it has no proper interface. If the virus was coded they can't help and if it was chaos we'd be inured to it.

And you're assuming that bomb will ever pop, it may not or it may have already.
