I'm on a roof I think, well I don't care where I am, so long as I am free from that Lions den, and probably in some place far worse. I walk over to the side of the building and look over, Hmm, looks like In the courtyard, judging from all the people walking about and all the flowers,bushes, trees and crap. I look back over my shoulder, seeing a girl sitting on in armchair, she stares at me, and down at the magazine she is reading before she quickly hides it under her chair.

I yelp in surprise, looking around as I try to get my bearings on the world around me as I try to figure out where I am. I'm on the floor, the soft and fluffy floor. Why am I on the floor? I was in the bed with Maria, and it was all warm and wonderful, but now I'm just on the floor with an ache on the back of my head. I huff and sit back up, looking around the still dark room. Maria's sprawled out on the bed, snoring as her chest slowly raises and lowers. I spend a few minutes watching her breath, before I tear my eyes from her and look around the room.

Elizabeth is sleeping in her bed, wrapped up in a cacoon of blankets as she sleeps peacefully.

Why am I the only one awake, I usually wake up the last, but while that is strange, I really should be asking how I ended up on the floor, because Maria would never push me off the bed, she just wouldn't. I shake my head, my ears twitching as I hear some birds caw and tweet as my twin tails begin to twitch and flick back and forth.

It's time to give Layla something else to do when we're not her.

Well now that I am awake I should do something worthwhile while I wait for Maria to wake up. I close my eyes and tap my chin, hmm but what could I do, I mean I could actually go to the club I set up a few months ago, but if I do that I have to deal with other people and I might even have to teach them something, Which would be horrible. I sigh and open my eyes, staring at the ceiling and watching the fan slowly turn around and around.

OH OH, I know I can make Maria some breakfast for when she wakes up, I mean she's made me and been my breakfast several times, so it's only fair that I make her breakfast for one. I smile and slowly tiptoe into the kitchen, so I don't accidentally wake her up or anything.

I walk over to the fridge and open it up, looking inside it.

Okay, what's something that's easy to make, that I can't possibly mess up in any possible way? Well I'm pretty sure I can make somewhat decent scrambled eggs, and we do have eggs in here already so that's wonderful. I grab the carton and set it on the small round table, my tails swishing back and forth as I do so.

But that isn't really enough for Maria is it? I mean what if she thinks I don't care enough about her to make her anything but eggs. No no, she knows how much I love her. But I think I should at least add some variety to her meal. But what could I make that I don't have to go out to get. I crouch down in front of the fridge and look up and down it, we have a lot of sodas, and candies but those aren't really breakfast are they. Some fruit, left overs, even some meat. Wait, we have a potatoe or two, I could just fry these up without worrying to much about them. I smile and grab the potatoes, and some butter.
I close the fridge and open one of the drawers, grabbing two pans out of them, and put them on the oven

RIP potatoes.

I turn the heat onto low and grab a spoon from one of the nearby drawers. I open the tub of butter and scoop out some of it and plop it onto the largest of the plates. I toss the spoon into the sink and put the butter back into the fridge. Now I need to make the eggs, but where do we keep the bowls again?

Oh right in drawer next to the sink, nearly forgot there.I grab a little blue plastic bowl and set it down on the table. I crack a few eggs into it and then try my best to pick out a few pieces of eggs shell in it. Well I think I got all of them out of there, but I just need to be sure. I proud and move my fingers through the eggs a few more times, and mix it as I try to find any little hidden shards of shell. I don't know if Maria like salt or pepper on her eggs, so I'll just pour them into the pan now and let her add those things later.

Now for the potatoes. First off I need to wash them off right. I grab the potatoes and step over to the sink turning the water on hot as I begin to scrub them down to make sure there's no dirt on them, I yelp in pain as the water suddenly turn scalding and I pull my hands away from the water, dropping the potatoes in the sink. I turn the water off and pick them back up, well at least they didn't fall into the garbage disposal, that would've been bad .

Now I just need to cut them up. I grab a knife and a plate and begin to cut into them, uh, does maria like them big or small...hmm eh, I'll just try to make them look like fries, she likes does right? I quickly cut up the pototae and toss them into the other pan and...Ah, nearly forgot the oil. I splash it into the pan and THE EGGS. I nearly forgot about the eggs. I grab a spatual and begin to push it against the eggs, breaking them up and scrambling them. I sigh and push the spatula against the eggs and potatoes as they cook.

Just becouse "Maria" gave us bad food doesn't excuse us from doing the same.

I can't risk ruining the meal now, I've put too much work into it already to just let it burn. I turn off the stove and reach up to the higher cabinents to grab a plate, leaning over the oven to do so.

I place the plate down and grab the pans, pouring their contents onto the plate before turning the sink on and dropping them in it. Wait, I forgot she needs something to drink with this. I open the fridge and grab the nearly empty bottle of orange juice, pouring it into a cup and placing it next to the plate. Still looks a bit plain and drab... wait we have some ketchup. I open the fridge again and squirt the ketchup onto the plate, before putting it back.

I smile and look at my work, well the potatoes look a bit crispy next to the eggs and the ketchup between them. I grab a wedge of potatoe and a pinch of eggs and taste them...Well they taste okay, not bad but not really amazing. I frown and grab the plate and cup. I walk over to Maria and place the plate on her lap. She looks at me sleepily and rubs her eyes.

"Layla?" She asks "What are you doing up already"

"I made you some breakfast" I say smiling "And I don't really know why I'm awake, but I made you breakfast so it doesn't matter."

She smiles happily and gives me a hug.

"Thank you" She says before she takes her first bite and chews it for a bit "A bit chewy"

My ears flop down close to my head.

"But" Maria says quickly "I actually like it more than I usually do"

My ears perk up and I hug Maria again, causing her to giggle.

"Not really hungry right now" I say staring up at her flawless face, with her little freckles under her squinting eyes, I don't get to see her without her glasses much, besides when she's asleep, she looks so cute when she's sleeping

"Do you even need to still eat?" she asks me as she takes a sip of her orange juice "you know besides drinking blood and stuff like that?"

"Well, I can still eat it and I like the taste of normal food" I say shrugging, my tails flicking back and forth as I smile widely "It's just I like the taste of blood a lot more and it's a lot more filling than normal food, well besides fish, I really like fish"

"Oh" She says nodding sleepily "So if I gave you fish covered in blood, what would you do?"

"Oh I'd love you even more than I do now" I say tilting my head "if that were possible, of course"

"And if I died today?" She asks taking another bite of her breakfast

She continues smiling and chewing on her food, nodding slowly. I'm glad she's as happy about this as I am.

"So have you found any other kinds of immortality yet?" I ask her

"I am, it's just that I haven't found anything" I sigh "Besides of course the other stuff that isn't worth it, or the stuff we know about all ready"

I sit there and wait for Maria to make her food, I watch as she walks over into the kitchen and washes her plates, before she walks back over.

I stand back up and grab her hands.

She nods and I smile, and let go of her hands as we walk over to the door and down the hall way, Neither of us saying anything as we walk down the stairs and out into the courtyard.

"Oh I thought it was early" Maria says looking around "ah well, take me where you're going to take me"

I nod and walk down the courtyard with Maria, the rest of the first years giving us a rather wide berth of space as we go. Wait, what's that smell, I sniff the air for a bit trying to figure out what it is, but Maria pulls on my arm so I stop looking to continue walking with her. I see Mr fraust in his field staring out towards the sea, like he's waiting for something. I shake my head and continue on leading her down the beach, and up the weather worn wooden path to Ms stone's house.

I slowly open the door while Maria looks out at the sea, leaning one of the broken down fences. I motion her to follow me and walk into the house, tiptoeing through it until I get to the door leading to the cellar. I grab the key from the vase and open it up, walking down into the dimly lit room.

Clementine is reading a book in the single chair there, while snack is huddled in the corner, looking as pitiful as ever.

They look up and Maria hides behind me, clinging to me as they stare at us.

"Oh, master you're back" Clementine says smiling "and you've brought Maria here as well"

"H..hi" Maria says waving at them.

Snack groans weakly and stares at me

I walk down the stairs slowly as Horsefur sits down and adjusts his mask with a groan.

"Come with Me, Mr knight" I say as I walk past the motionless knight, who nods and follows after me as I slowly walk down the path in the woods, the trees blowing gently on the wind as I realize the only noise I can hear is that of the wind, no sirens, and no explosions, well that can't be good, but I shouldn't worry about that, since now I don't have to feel like I'm having a spike driven into my ear, though they still hurt.

I walk down the courtyard. I can see Some agents hiding behind their hastily set up cover, holding various kinds of firearms and other weapons, I think I even see one of them holding two hatches in his or her hand as I walk by, they don't pay me any notice, except for one who glares and watches me walk by, his red lenses flaring as I pass him.

I walk over to the door of the main building and open it up.

"HOLD IT" An agent shouts popping from behind of the desk "Oh, it's you, the boss was asking for you, and uuuh who's that?"

"I don't know, but he's with me" I say shrugging as I walk by the confused agent as two others closet he door behind me, I walk past several more as I walk down the hall to headmaster's office, most of them nod at me as I walk past them.

I throw open the doors and see quite the sight inside, Thomas is sitting crosslegged on a chair, Lily is sitting in front of him. I see Isaac for a second as he leaps into a shadow with a yelp, Willow is cleaning out her rifle humming to herself, while the hick Thadues holds a cross in his hands muttering to himself. And of course Alex is just standing there creepily

I pull my mask off, smiling and making sure to show my fangs off to my breakfast as I leap down from the idol, the man reaches up, holding nearly pearl white pistol in his hand, adorned with a cross. I glare at it and grab my knife, feeling a pain pierce my shoulders as he pulls the trigger, my twisting slightly as the bullet tears through it. I growl at him and stab his hand with my combat knife, causing him to scream in pain as I force him onto his back. I begin to speak gibbering, trying my best to make it sound demonic, until I begin to remember words I didn't know, meaning strangling cold depths of water and liquid meat. The mans eyes go wide as I lick my lips and fangs I jab the point of my neat new knife into his neck, tearing it out.

He gurgles as he tries to speak one last word. I begin to lean over him, my tongue rolling out as I begin to feel the heat drain out of him, making me feel oh so hungry. Alex is backing away from the screaming leader, who's still clutching his gut as he shouts some weird bullshit out.

"Doppleganger and deliverance' I say as I stare into the dying mans eyes "Save inkwell, I'm having a bite to eat"

The man gurgles as I hold his head in place with both hands and opens my mouth wide, biting into his neck and tearing it open more as I pull back my head, hearing something crunch as I look up, Seeing one of the people shooting at Thomas go down with a spurt of blood flying from his face, and Thadeus in his white preacher's looking coat falling from the sky, shotgun in hand, blowing a hole into the leader of this little party, firing wildly into the air, just missing Isaacs head.

The remaining seven robed figures look around, one of them writing on the ground before another bullet from willow makes them six.

"Oh lord, she's...she's eating him" one of them, a girl says noticing me lapping up the delicious red nectar from one of their friends necks.

I smile as I watch Thadeus, Williow, And Lily hug each other and cheer while dancing around like fools, Alex shrugs and I shake my head, shouldn't pay idiots like that much attention, don't know why its making me smile like that.

I begin to walk up the beach, stepping on the bloody and tasty looking corpses that cover and stain it, along with craters filling with sea water and fire burning the bodies.

Mike walks in front of me, bleeding from his lip, one of his eyes black and swollen, his uncovered chest red, from both burns and blood. He holds a fist out and smiles like an idiot. I smile and punch my fist into his.

"YEAH" He shouts thrusting into the air. I giggle and walk past the burnt thing,

"Pleeease, I to am like you, I forsook my humanity for power" it whimpers as it grabs my leg "But I can no longer take the pain, please I beg of you, make stop"

I smile and crouch down next to it, looking at its charred and burnt flesh, its eyes looking like shiny coal as tears pour from them.

"Well if you really want me to" I say grabbing its head with both hands and forcing its neck up, before I stick my tongue out and open my mouth wide with an aahh.

I bite into its neck drinking its blood, wincing from the burning pain it brings with it, it tastes like ash and pain, of fire and dirt. I drink a few gulps before I can't stand the flavor anymore. I stick my tongue out and shake my head, letting go of its head and letting it slowly bleed its filthy blood into the sand. I feel a burn travel through my veins, but I pay it no attention since a much more important thing is one my mind.

I walk up the hill and across the wooden path, now strewn with what remains of the damn bastards who tried to get close to Maria, I kick the head of one at the hut and walk into to it. I see Ms stone, her hair disheveled as she chews on the neck of a man missing an arm and leg. She stares at me, her eyes distant with pleasure as she slurps and licks happily.

I walk past her and to the basement door, which is open, oh godammit why is it open, a chill runs through me as I realize what this could mean, but no no nooo that couldn't have happened, I rush down the stairs and sigh with relief as I see Maria in the corner, covering her eyes as Snack tries her best to cheer up. I hear chewing and flesh tearing and I look down to see Clementine with a hunger in her eyes, eating the leg and arms of the meal of Ms stone, sucking blood from it as she gnaws on the bone. She shies away from me, oh she knows what she did wrong. I glare at her and she covers her head.

"I'll punish you later" I growl at her as I walk over to Maria "But first I need to get her out of here, away from you and your Habits"

I wrap my arms around Maria and cover her eyes as I walk her out of the room and up the stairs, running a hand through her hair to try and calm down. She lifts my hand off her face and sees me, hugging and squeezing me as she cries into my chest.

I think she tries to say "Oh thank god you're alright, I was so worried about you" but I can't be sure, I hug her back and continue running my hand through her hair as I walk her into the hut proper and out of it as quick as I can, holding her close so she just see all this death and freak out.

I hear a whistle and turn.

I see Thomas sitting on the fence. Some kind of large dead dog next to him with a huge fang jabbed in its eye. Thoma is holding his chew and mangled arm with his other one.

"So yeah, fuck the tunnels" Ge says smiling, his eye a glowing yellow "Couldn't even get isaac killed, but hey, at least I found a willing donator to replace my eye, and a free backscratcher"

I hear coughing and metal clanking together
