You are Siegfried Schmidt, a former guard from the city of Morsland. Due to various circumstances, you have become the temporary wielder of Galadriel, a holy sword which houses a powerful six-winged angel of the same name. Now you have come to the White Watchtower, a fortress close to the border between the Forsaken Lands and the kingdom of Iseria, to train with the crusaders so that you can protect yourself from the demons that might come after you now that the sword is in your possession.

On your first day at the mortal farm, you were put in a gladiatorial battle against what appeared to be a mutated human, partially transformed into a demon like the one who escorted you to the arena. It seems the people here are being put into gladiatorial fights to find the strongest warriors, who are then corrupted into demons by Alastor, the lord of wrath himself. Now, the lord of wrath has called you to battle in the arena once again, but this time you find that your opponent is not a mutated monster, but the missing girl from Llynn, the very person you intended to save.

"Be grateful, mortal, I handpicked this match just for you, because of your intervention in the young Unblooded's battle. That pity for the young is a weakness, it will get you killed here. There are many of your kind's youth captured within these walls, you may be forced to fight one of them some day, and one of them may not be as weak and innocent as you believe. This is a chance for you to overcome that weakness. Now you will either get over that weak sense of pity, or you will die here for your weakness."

You examine the young girl who is to be your opponent, you're certain she is the one who went missing from Llynn. Did Alastor know that you were looking for her? No, that's impossible, there's no way he could know that, this is just an unfortunate coincidence. He said that this was a chance for you to "overcome your weakness", is this really his twisted idea of help, or is he just trying to mess with you?

The girl carries a greatsword that looks almost too big for her to carry. She looks at you from across the arena, eyes vacant of emotion, almost like she's staring right through you. Alastor said she was close to becoming an Initiate, but unlike those two mutants you saw yesterday, she doesn't seem crazed or particularly eager to fight at all.

Alastor grins wickedly at you from his stone throne. The look on his face asks 'What will you do now, mortal?'

>You have no choice, you'll have to fight.
>You have to fight, but try to end the fight non-lethally.
>Refuse. Alastor is toying with you, prodding for a reaction. You won't play his damn game.

You'll have to fight, but if you can you'll try to end the fight non-lethally. Without a word, you turn to rummage through the weapons on the rack. Strangely, the missing girl's sword looks like it's in great condition, as opposed to the chipped and damaged swords here. After considering her choice of weapon and what weapons you can find in decent enough condition, you decide on using

>A sword and shield

>A two-handed warhammer

>A spear

>>
>>39037213
>A halberd

Time to break an important joint or two. It's a lot harder to fight with a broken wrist or ankle.
>>
>>39037213
Just like before, you grab the least damaged halberd you can find on the rack. You've done well with them before, and it will allow you to match her reach with that greatsword.

Pulling out the halberd and taking a stance, Alastor declares the start of the fight. The missing girl approaches you slowly, dragging the greatsword along the stone floor of the arena. Is it actually too heavy for her to carry? If she has to drag it like that all the time, it should have dulled out by now, but as far as you can tell it's still holding it's edge. Is it magic or something?

You push these questions out of your head, none of that matters right now. She seems to be taking her time approaching you, her dead eyes staring at you unblinking. It's a little unsettling.

You inch your way forward, staying cautious. You don't want to hurt her, but you don't know what she's capable of.

Your caution is well-warranted, because when you get closer you learn she's not as slow or weak as she initially seemed. Once you get closer, she lifts her greatsword and moves forward much faster than you'd predict by the way she was dragging her sword earlier. You're ready for her though, and deftly sidestep an overhead swing from her, smashing the butt of your halberd into her stomach as you do. For her part, she only winces a little at the blow, which would have knocked the wind out of most people.

You step back a few feet, keeping your distance so you can take advantage of your reach. She doesn't drag the greatsword anymore, instead holding it up with both hands like normal. She examines you, looking for a hole in your defenses.

You stay on the defense, jabbing at her when she tries to get close to keep her away. A few of your jabs actually land, causing superficial wounds. Nothing deadly, but still enough to deter her.

You leave a false opening for her to exploit, hoping she'll take the bait. Sure enough, she surges forward once again, this time for a horizontal swing. Seizing the opportunity, you duck below the swing, and sweep her feet with the halberd. She's knocked off her feet, but rolls away before you can pin her down, and quickly gets back on her feet. The look in her eyes looks a little panicked now, something you'd expect to see in a cornered animal. She seems to have realized she's at a disadvantage here, and is desperately trying to think of a solution. She might try something risky soon.

In her desperation, her swings become stronger and more wild, putting you on the defensive. You manage to block or swat away each of her swings, but you're surprised by the strength of each swing. Not what you'd expect from a young girl, but you suppose two months of being forced to fight for her life toughened her up.

Knocking away one of her attacks leaves an opening you can exploit, which you intend to do. You step forward and swing with all your might, smacking the butt of the halberd into her gut once again. The force of the block knocks her off her feet, and this time you manage to catch her before she can run away, kicking her sword away and holding her at the point of your halberd. She stares up at the halberd looming over her neck, first with fear, then resignation, closing her eyes and waiting for the final blow.

It doesn't come.

Alastor stands from his stone throne, staring down upon you and the defeated girl.

"Well, what are you waiting for Bloodied? Finish her already."

"Why? I've already beaten her, this match is over. You'll run out of people eventually if you always make them kill each other at the end of a fight. Besides, I enjoyed that fight, and if I kill her I won't be able to do it again."

The lord of wrath regards you closely, frowning. You can almost feel the sweat beading down your forehead. Finally, the frown on his face slowly starts to twist into a grin.

"Only yesterday you were fighting like a cornered animal, wailing like a stuck pig, and now you want to spare an opponent so you can fight them again later? Either your first kill changed you, or you're lying through your teeth."

Any relief you felt is immediately vaporized by his words. Shit, he knows!

"However, lie or not, I like what I'm hearing."

You have to catch yourself before you heave a sigh of relief. Alastor leaps from the stands and lands in the arena, the stone cracking under him where he lands.

"However, you're wrong to think a good opponent should be spared. A good fight eases the boredom, but it is nothing compared to the feeling of severing a worthy foe's head from his shoulders. The fight is fun, but the kill is where the real joy comes from."

He approaches you and the defeated girl, staring down at her. Just standing next to him, you feel the air grow hot and uncomfortable, as though he were radiating heat. You also notice that his left eye is white and looks damaged, perhaps he is blind in his left eye after all.

"You." He says to the young girl, who gulps in fear at being addressed. "Because this Bloodied's plight amuses me, I shall permit you to live."

The girl is relieved to hear that, but Alastor is not finished. "Two days from now, I have to leave on business. When I come back the next morning, you two shall face each other again in the arena, but this time there WILL be blood. I suggest you spend the time between now and then practicing so you don't end up beaten as easily as you were today."
>>
>>39039800
Sounds like the information you gathered earlier was correct. If he's going to be gone two days from now, you have the rest of today and tomorrow to plan for your escape, and the day after tomorrow you'll have to make your escape while Alastor is gone. However, if you don't escape by then, it looks like you'll have to fight this girl again, and this time it sounds like you won't be able to avoid killing her.

"However, it would hardly be fair to leave the victor unrewarded, and it would be wise to foster your hatred for when you two face off again, so from now until the two of you fight again, you are to follow this Bloodied around and do whatever it is he commands you to."

Wait, what? Both you and the missing girl look at the lord of wrath in confusion almost simultaneously.

"However, let me make myself clear. I do not want either of you to kill each other until I am back and able to witness it. If I find out that either of you killed the other before your time in the arena, I will have your limbs ripped from your body and your hearts devoured by the hungry Initiates. Am I clear?"

The young girl nods reluctantly, as do you. What is he playing at here? Is this another attempt to prod at you both for a reaction, or is he just doing this to amuse himself?

"Good, then I'm glad we understand each other." Alastor looks up from the two of you and into the stadium, towards the other competitors waiting their turn. "What are you all still here for? Show's over, no more battles for today, get out of here!"

The people in the stands happily oblige, hurrying to exit the arena before the lord of wrath changes his mind. At least you won't have to worry about any more prisoners dying today.

Alastor, having nothing left to say, leaps all the way from the arena floor back up to the throne platform and exits behind the curtains once again. The four-armed demons in the stands also begin to leave, murmuring their discontent at the cancellation.

The missing girl stares up at you, still on the ground where you held her at the point of your halberd. Her frown betrays her displeasure at this turn of events.

"Sorry about that, are you alright?"

You offer a hand to help her up. She looks at your outstretched hand and ignores it, getting up by herself. You pull your hand away awkwardly, seems she doesn't really trust you right now, though you can't really blame her.

"Thank Aureus he decided to play along. For a moment, I was worried he'd have us both killed." You say to her, trying to sound less awkward. She dusts herself off and looks at you with that same dead stare she had at the start of the fight.

"It's only temporary. In three days, one of us is going to be killed anyway."

Yeesh. Seems this place has made her into a bit of a downer, though she is right. If you can't find a way to escape while Alastor is back, one of you is going to have to die in this arena. If you escape without her, it's possible she might be killed anyways. Before you even think of that though, you should probably figure out how stable she is. If she was close to Initiatehood, it wouldn't be unthinkable for her to be as messed up in the head as those berserk mutants you saw yesterday. So far she seems fine, but you need to be sure. To do that, you'll need to find someplace private to speak with her. Your room back in the Bloodied district should suffice.

"In any case, we should get out of here before he comes back and changes his mind. Follow me."
>>
>>39040509
------
The only one at home when you arrive is the dwarf who woke you this morning. At first he tries to turn the girl away, thinking she's come to stay when there's no more room, but he lets it go when you explain she's not here to stay. He raises a curious eyebrow, but drops the matter, occupying himself with sweeping the common room.

The young girl looks at you suspiciously when you arrive. Thinking about it, you suppose the scenario would look kind of suspicious from her point of view, but this is the only place you can think of where you can talk in private.

"Just wanted to talk, don't worry. But first, I have to ask. You're not mutated like those Initiates they had us fight on the first day, right? Not going insane or growing any new arms or anything?"

She stares at you blankly, then lifts her two arms as though to show the lack of additional ones. "Do I look like I'm growing extra arms?" She says with humorless sarcasm.

You sigh. "Alright, fair enough. Just thought I'd ask, can't be too sure."

"I'm still Bloodied, like you. They were thinking of promoting to me to Initiate, but they haven't yet."

Well that's good to hear, but just in case you decide to test her with Galadriel just to be sure. You reach for the dagger on your belt, causing her to reach for her greatsword's handle on reflex.

"Easy there, I'm not going to attack you. Just wanted to test something."

She doesn't take her hand of the handle, but she doesn't draw it at least. Removing the dagger from it's sheathe, you flip it over so the handle is facing her and extend it to her.

"Do me a favor and hold onto this for a second."

She looks confused, but obliges, grabbing the handle of the dagger. Her hands don't start blistering, so you take that to mean she's clean. You let go of the handle, and the dagger falls like a rock out of her hand, to her surprise.

"Careful there, don't drop it on your foot." You say, trying to cover it up. You didn't really expect that to work, but it was worth a shot at least. You pick Galadriel back up and return it to the sheath on your belt, leaving the girl more confused than ever.

"Just what is all this about, exactly?" She asks.

You try to think of a way to explain this. You could be direct and tell her you came to rescue her, but you're not sure she'd believe that. Maybe something more subtle, something that would prove you know who she is?
>>
>>39041160
"Say, you don't happen to have any berries on you, do you? I know a crow who'd really like some?"

"Berries? What are you..." She starts, relization striking her mid sentence. "Wait a minute, how do you know about berry?"

Berry? Did she seriously name the raven berry? You wave that thought away for later.

"That bird really misses you, you know? Even helped us find the farm you were taken to. He's not the only one who misses you though, your mother back in Llynn is very worried about you too, even asked us at the tower to help look for you. Though I didn't really plan on finding you the way I did, on opposite sides of an arena battle. Kind of ironic, being forced to fight the person I came to save."

The look on her face shifts from confused to shocked as you speak. "My mother? What-" She furrows her brow and steps up to you, grabbing you by the collar of your shirt. "Just who in the Void are you, and why are you here?"

Damn, guess this place made her pretty aggressive too. From how the raven talked about her, you thought she'd be a lot nicer, more childish.

"Calm down, first of all. I'll explain everything."

The girl lets you go and crosses her arms, waiting for an explanation. You tell her just what she needs to know, that you come from the White Watchtower, that her mother mentioned she'd gone missing and asked the tower to look for her, that you spoke to the raven via magic to learn where she'd been taken, and that you were captured at the border after separating from your comrades.

She listens without a word, waiting for you to finish explaining yourself. After that, she asks you the question you'd been asking yourself since you were captured.

"So what happens now?"

"We find a way to escape. You've been here for two months, anything you know about this place that could help?"

She thinks about it for a moment. "Well lord Alastor said he'd be gone the day after tomorrow, right? If anything, we should try to run away then?"

"I thought of that much, I mean any idea on how to get out of here."

She shakes her head. "I don't know. If I did now a way out, I'd have done it by now. The only way out that I know of is through the gate, and there's always a bunch of demons guarding it, at least 30."

"Okay, well then do you any ideas on how to lure them out and sneak past, or how to fight through them?"

"I don't know what they taught you at that tower, but I don't think we can fight through 30 demons with just the two of us. I know they get angry easily, that might help lure them out, but there's no guarantee they'll all be baited out, and no guarantee we could escape them after that either."

>"Okay, so if we can't fight our way out with just us, know anyone who would join us?"

"Come on, there has to be more than that. Anything, any cracks in the wall or places where the guards don't patrol, something?"

She shakes her head. "No, nothing. The guards check for cracks in the wall regularly, and patch up whatever they find. As for patrols, the only place I know of that guards don't bother to patrol is the Initiate district, and that comes with it's own problems."

You sigh. "Alright then, so if we can't sneak out and we can't fight our way out with just the two of us, do you know anyone who would join us?"

"Well..."

"Well?"

"I've heard there are actually people who've been planning a revolt of sorts, but I have no idea how we'd get in contact with them."

"There's actually people who are fighting back here? Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"Because I'm not even sure if they're still around. About a month ago the guards found their hideout, and a bunch of people were killed. The ones that were captured..." She shudders, you don't push the topic.

"Okay, so if they're still around then they could probably help us out. Question now is, how do we find them?"

She shrugs. "I don't know. All I heard is that if you're looking for them, they usually come to you."

'If you're looking for them, they usually come to you.' You think to yourself. 'What is this, something out of a cheap book?'

"I know, it sounds dumb, but that's all I know."

You sigh. "Well, let's hope they find us then. In the mean time, I guess we'll just have to wait on Joan's raven-"

"You mean Berry."

"Berry, whatever, to come back with news. He showed up here around this time, maybe he's waiting for us now. Let's go check."

The missing girl shrugs and follows your lead. As you reach for the door handle, you realize something.

"I just realized, I never asked you what your name was."

Seems she forgot she never told you as well. "I guess not. My name is Anna, you?"

"Siegfried, glad we got that sorted out."
>>
>>39042567
The two of you start to leave the house when the dwarf you live with stops you at the door.

"Hold up a minute kid, got a letter for you here."

He hands you an envelope, unsealed and with no name on it. You look at him curiously. "Who gave you this?"

"Don't know, he just said he was a friend of yours, asked me to hand it to you."

You open the unsealed envelope and unfold the paper inside. Anna reads the contents from over your shoulder.

"We're willing to help. Meet us in the slums at night. Don't tell anyone else about this."

You blink. Sweet Aureus, it is like something out of a half-copper book. Regardless, it is a relief to see that whatever resistance is out there can actually get in touch with people who want to find them. Still though, the letter is very sketchy, and meeting at the slums at night doesn't exactly help their case. It could be a trap, but you don't know who would try to trap you.

You fold the note up and shove it into your pocket, making a mental note to burn it later just in case. You thank the dwarf for giving it to you, then head out towards the slums with Anna.

"This could be a trap." She whispers to you.

"I know, that's why we're going to check things out first. Besides, the ra-, er, Berry should be there anyways, we'll kill two birds with one stone, figuratively speaking."

-----
Sure enough, the raven is sitting by the same back alley where you last spoke with it. When he sees the two of you approach, he flutters right past you and straight to Anna.

"Berry girl! Berry girl is okay!" he squawks happily. You shush him, lest one of the guards hear him. You lead them all further into the back alley, where you can talk in relative peace.

"Berry, you really did come all the way to help save me." Anna says excitedly. You're almost thunderstruck by the sudden transition from mopey, constantly suspicious girl to happy, excited young girl. Still, you suppose this is a good thing, it means she hasn't been completely broken at least.

"Berry, who's berry?"

"It's you, remember?"

"No, not understand human talk until now. Nice girl with big hat help me understand."

You give them a moment to chat, seeing as they're sort of close. Finally, you interject and ask the raven what you've been wondering since yesterday.

"Alright so what did the knight-captain say? Is help on the way or not?"

The raven, remembering why it came here in the first place, clears it's throat (birds can do that?) and answers.

"Joan said the captain is doing what he can. At the earliest, help should be here in about two weeks."
>>
>>39043060
"Two weeks is too long, Alastor is going to make the two of us fight to the death in three days, we need help now, not later."

"Alastor...make you fight Berry girl?"

You nod. "That's why we need to get out of here before then."

The raven goes silent, seeming very distressed by this news.

"Want to help...but nothing can do. Captain say two weeks, nothing can do. I want help, but I...I too small."

Damn, you don't think you've ever heard a bird sound that sad before, so you reassure him.

"Hey, come on now, don't worry. If the others can't get out here in time, we'll just find our own way out. We think we've found some people who can help us."

"People who can help?"

"Yeah, people who can help use get out of here, maybe even get the whole farm out of here. You don't have to worry, we'll all get out of here just fine."

"...You swear?"

"On my honor as a guard. Happy now?"

The raven finally starts to brighten up some. "I trust. You get out safe and sound with berry girl, I know."

"Alright, glad we got that straightened out."

Well, seems help isn't going to get here in time, so you'll just have to get help from the local rebellion.

If we have a plan we should let the captain now ASAP so we can get his input on how successful he thinks this will be. If we send Berry back now we would have to wait until the day after tomorrow to get the captain's expert opinion.

If anyone is keeping an eye on us, it would be best to look as if we're simply exploring the farm nonchalantly rather than deliberately snooping on someone in particular.

We are planning a break possibly in 2 days. Alistor will be gone, hopefully we can lead a massive break out of here.

Seperate from the message, if we can engineer a revolt, our priorities will be.

1. free fighters
2. get weapons
3. free everyone else
4. fight our way out.
5. return to the keep.
>>
>>39043285
I don't know if we can get everyone without with White Tower soldiers. There is going to be massive casualties.

You tell the raven to give the captain an update on everything that's happening. When Alastor leaves, when he plans to have you and Anna fight to the death, about the rebels and your plan to fight your way out. But before he leaves to deliver the message, you ask him to watch your interaction tonight, just in case.

"I can do." He says. With that, you get started scoping the area out, and burn the note you got once you find something to burn it with and a place to do it unseen.

----
Night time comes and the raven watches the two of you from the roofs. You've scoped the area out as best you can, finding nothing particularly out of the ordinary. Just in case, you mapped out an escape route just in case things go south.

After a while, three people show up at the meeting place, two humans and one dwarf. In fact, you recognize that dwarf. That's the dwarf who gave you the letter.

"Glad you came to see us tonight. Couldn't help but overhear your little conversation this afternoon, so I thought I'd go ahead and drop you an invitation. "

>"Well, we're here, what now? Where are the rest of you?"
>"You know, eavesdropping is really rude. Also, what's with all the cloak and dagger, why didn't you just say something to us then and there?"
>"Do you make your letters sound sketchy on purpose, or does it just come to you people naturally?"
>"Let's cut to the chase then. How many of you are there, and how well armed are you all?"

"...well, that kind of ruins some of the mystery of it."

>"Let's cut to the chase then. How many of you are there, and how well armed are you all?"
In addition, do they have any information about their other people that we heard got busted? I'm sure some of them were probably killed, but if any of them are being kept locked up somewhere (in stockades or something as a public deterrent to disobedience), we might as well consider the merits of trying to break them out as well for the extra manpower.
>>
>>39043405
Snark has served us well in the past.

We shall be known as the snakiest champion.
>>
>>39043417
All that said, it's possible we should just stay off that topic entirely given Anna's reaction, but even if some of them were forcibly turned rather than tortured or something, we're low enough on resources that I wouldn't even rule out hoping a couple of them could find it in their new-born wrathful hearts to get a bit of revenge on the demons who put them in here.
>>
>>39043363
>"Do you make your letters sound sketchy on purpose, or does it just come to you people naturally?"
So is this like a double date our something? Maybe we should go somewhere where people won't overhear us.
>>
>>39043417
>In addition, do they have any information about their other people that we heard got busted?
The implication from Anna was that they were all killed, some in less-than-humane ways.

"...Well, that kind of ruins some of the mystery of it. Do you always make your letters sound sketchy on purpose though, or does it just come to you people naturally?"

You think you see a faint grin form under the dwarf's beard. "Very funny. I'm sorry the letter sounded 'sketchy', but unfortunately I couldn't write you a proper invitation complete with address and party favors.

"Fair enough. In any case, we're here now. Where are the rest of you?"

"You'll meet them, but first, follow me. It's not safe to talk here."

You and Anna oblige, following after him deeper into the slums. The raven flies overhead, silently keeping watch.

The dwarf and his two companions bring you to a large broken-down shop in the center of the slums. Inside you see that there is an elderly looking elven man at the counter.

"They're with us." The dwarf explains, and the elf nods. The dwarf leads you both behind the counter and up to a heavy looking chest in the back.

"Help me move this, will you?"

You oblige, grabbing the other end of the chest and pulling. Damn, what did they load into this thing, rocks? Whatever the contents, it doesn't matter, because what matters is the trap door you find hidden beneath the chest.

"Storage for the store. When we hold a meeting, we hold it here, where no one can overhear us talk. After you two."
>>
>>39043742
You climb down the ladder followed by Anna. The place is dimly lit by torchlight, just how you'd expect a secret base to be. You count about 50 people crammed into here.

"Is this it?" You ask the dwarf when he descends.

"No. We have other hideouts around the slums, just in case one gets caught by the guards so we're not all caught. Total, I'd say there's about 200 of us."

200? That should be enough to take the gate. Maybe. You remind yourself that you don't know how strong these new demons are, maybe 200 won't be enough, you're not sure, but it's certainly more than you were expecting.

"How well equipped is everyone?"

"It varies. The Bloodied here carry some basic weapons at least, better than what they give you in the arena, but the Unblooded here rely on what the Bloodied can sneak in. Most of them have decent weapons, but a handful of them still have to use those banged-up scraps of junk the slum's stores offer."

Alright, so that's 200 armed men and women who can help you and Anna break out of here. That still leaves you with one question.

"If there's so many of you, why haven't you tried breaking out before?"

"The guards are demons, kid. Everybody here's had to fight for their lives before, but demons are another issue. Some of the superstitious folk here don't even think normal weapons can hurt them. I can't say I know enough to say their wrong. That's why we haven't fought back yet, because we don't know how strong these bastards are. That, and because 'Lord' Alastor is around almost all the time, and fighting with him around would be suicide."

Right, you'd almost forgotten after a month of practice with Galadriel and fighting the real thing, but normal people have no idea how strong demons are. You remember back in Morsland a few travelers from the border claimed that a demon can't be harmed by weapons unless they've been bathed in angel tears. For a while, you thought that might be true.
>>
>>39043752
"So then what's changed?"

"You."

"Huh?"

"You're what changed. Until now, none of us have seen someone from the Watchtower get brought here. But you're a crusader, you been training to fight demons like these, right? If that's the case, you can train us, teach us how to fight the damned things too. I don't doubt that more would join too if they knew there was a crusader helping us out."

So, the only thing that's changed is that now they have someone they think is an expert in fighting demons on their side. True, you've got more experience than anyone else here, but you wouldn't call yourself an expert...

"So then, can you do it? Can you teach us how we can fight against these four-armed monsters?"

>You have your own experience, and you have Galadriels. You can teach them.
>You don't know anything about these demons in specific, there's nothing you can do.

Ask about any secret tunnels that they may or may not have and gather as much info as you can.
>>
>>39043765
>You have your own experience, and you have Galadriels. You can teach them.
What's most important is that they know enough to not blindly fear or panic. But actually fighting is still leaning on a high death toll. So:

>Any chance you guys have been tunnelling? Got any explosives for one big push?
>>
>>39043919
If we can funnel the demons into a tight space that we can defend mostly on our own while everyone else is digging/running, that'd be great.
>>
>>39043765
You have your own experience, and you have Galadriel's. Not only that, but you can tell Berry to send back any sort of info that could help you. You can do this, you can teach them.

"I'll do it. Tell everyone to gather around, I need to send a message first and then we'll get started."

The dwarf heaves a sigh of relief, perhaps he thought you were going to turn him down. "You don't know how much of a relief that is, sir. Speaking of which, never caught your name."

"Siegfried, and your name?"

"Gavren, sir. Thank Aureus you came to us."

You can't help but feel uncomfortable being called 'sir', but you bear with it. Climbing up the stairs, you tell the raven to tell the captain everything that's transpired, and to send any sort of information you could use to fight demons, particularly demons of wrath, before the escape attempt in two days. He flies off, towards the White Watchtower, and you climb back down into the basement, where the rebels are gathered together, waiting for you.

'You have no need to worry.' Galadriel assures you. 'You've had enough experience to know what you're talking about.'

'Maybe, but I'll still need your help here.'

'Of course.'

You take a deep breathe, and into the circle of people, to the table in the center.

"Alright, the first thing you people need to do is get rid of this notion that demons can't be killed. They can be killed just like people. The second thing you need to know is that demons are much stronger than normal humans. Don't fight them alone. Any chance you guys have been tunneling? Got any explosives for one big push?"

"I-I used to be an alchemist. We don't have any tunnels, but I could probably slap together some crude charges."

"Good, we're going to need those. Now, listen closely, because we've only got two days to escape, so we're only going to get one shot at this..."

Alright, gonna have to call it a night here folks. Gonna stick around a little while longer to answer questions as usual. YES, GLORY BE, THERE IS HOPE

>>39044032
Simple plan to double effective 'sploding

>Attach charge to rope
>Get on ceiling
>Throw charge over wall
>Hold other end of rope
>Using bending of rope, charge is now adjacent to wall
>You can now blow up both sides of the wall

It won't be enough to take down the wall, but add the 10min burst of strength on a sledgehammer, and we'll get close. Hopefully someone can make use of this.

....do we still have that spray bottle? We can give it to someone else if it comes to that.

They stop in every once in a while to drop off prisoners, but they're not too common here. You'd imagine it's because this place is pretty full as-is. As for the raven, you'd assume a mixture of caution, fast flying, and probably a couple spells from Joan.

I agree, I'd rather take our capture as a lesson to train more and learn haste ourself than as an excuse for waifufaggotry.

Also, Justine is better than Erika.
>>
>>39044322
which is kinda what I was getting at, we don't have to jump into something, but we could begin a deeper relationship with one of the girls at least.

I'm pretty sure it would make him remember that he has a family to return to and that he should REALLY be looking for a new champion.
>>
>>39044336
I agree that she's the best one. The others seem kind of easy for Sieg to pull of.

Also Sparks is going to throw some of dat waifu-bait at us anyway.
In my opinion Sieg now needs more magic and learn to enchant shit.
>>
>>39045870
>The others seem kind of easy for Sieg to pull of.
Why is that a bad thing? Also Justine to me just seems like a brick wall whereas Erika has character and chemistry with Sieg, and yeah, we need to learn more magic and get better gear.

Also sage your posts anon, threads long dead.
>>
Waifubait or not, I'm looking forward to seeing how the characters will react to hero's return. Maybe asskicking by Erika more than others though.

In any case that's still all assuming we're getting out of there alive. I'm guessing Sieg won't be in best of moods considering plenty of people are liable to die in the process.

So we're blasting our own way out, right? We'll need a distraction to occupy the demons. Setting something on fire might be good start for that, especially if it seems like it could have natural causes. Maybe even a feint for the main gates while rest of the captives penetrate the wall elsewhere (spending hero point there maybe? "You shall not pass", except without dying at the end).
And of course we'll have to keep the demons from finding out about the plot, as well as to assure that the demon lord is far away to be unable to interfere. And to make sure that we'll get some friends on our side of border to deter pursuit of demons to the kingdom's territory.
