The year is 2089, and on the surface, this world seems just the same as ours. If you look more closely though, you will find psychics, mages, mythological monsters and more, all hidden from the general populace.
You are an agent of the Order of the Magus Hunters, the organisation keeping this secret from the rest of the world. They are troubleshooters, police, military and assassins all in one, and all so that the world can be safe.

The options are a guideline, not an absolute, which is why I will always include a Write in option. I may occasionally forget to add it but feel free to do so anyway. Some options I list are good, some are bad, most won’t be really awesome. I leave it up to you to find ways to do that.
Also feel free to ask things if they’re not entirely clear. I reserve the right to dodge the issue if it’s done for plot reasons, but otherwise I’ll gladly provide more information.

>Training room is complete.

You get to working on the training room while Milly goes to study the ley lines. Work goes much faster than you expect, and your telekinesis is extra useful to finish some of the details that would otherwise take an annoyingly long time to finish. Barely half an hour has passed before the training room is finished, while you thought it’d take at least an hour or two.

Milly probably hasn’t found anything yet.

Before Raphael gets to work, ask him if there were any references to the dead warlord in our backyard dolmen.

Now I may seem paranoid, but that last dream our MC had tasted like the sensations of a dead to me. Dunno why, I'm just going by my guts here.
The spirit that remains might be weaker then even a normal human, but just take a minute or two and think about how many things less than a human can kill a human horriby fast.
I'd prefer to be absolutely clear if that corpse is a danger or not. Psychics having strange dreams all of a sudden literally screams iceberg.

You mean, the dolmen that warlord is trapped in and the one Milly told you to chronicle many of his great victories?

Yes. But inscriptions on a grave aren't exactly a complete work on his life and reign. Maybe Tobias Patterson had more knowledge, and maybe Wooster knows some.

We need more sources.

“Well, that went unexpectedly fast. I’d say you’ve earned a bit of a break. Raphael, if you could wait a minute though, I’d like to talk to you.”

You head to your office and relate to him the eery dream you had. “Could it have been something with that trapped spirit?”

“I personally doubt it. I mean, it COULD be possible, theoretically. Him being pure spiritual energy and you being a psychic, and not to mention a telepath, but from what Milly told us the spell kept him trapped there.” Raphael tells you.

“Do you know of any references to the warlord? Any historical data, perhaps in the books you’ve read so far?” You ask him.

“Not that I know of. Should I continue reading then?” Raphael says.

“That would be helpful, yes. I’ll join in.”

You spend the rest of the morning reading through old books and tomes. Most of it are complex magical calculations that go far beyond your basic Magical Theory courses you had during your training. You skim through several of them without finding anything useful.

Raphael seems to have more success though. “I found something. It seems to be a research log of some kind. Look here.”

He shows you a book written in handwriting that you can barely decipher, but with some help you manage.

----

Day 14.

During the plantation of the forest around the house, Wooster and I came across a dolmen. I studied the runes on it, and while it’s been about two hundred years since I last read their kind, I managed to decipher them. There is an ancient sorcerer warlord bound inside, trapped for all eternity due to a miscalculation of the ley lines location. Once I told Wooster about this he suggested we end the poor soul’s torment, but I believe I could learn a lot from studying him.

In other but related news, the design of the second circle, the one to construct here under my mansion, are progressing slowly. Thanks to the fact that it is a completely different set of ley lines running through here, aside from the main one for which I should really come up with a name
>The next line is scrapped through and illegible. The next readable one is:
I should learn to think before I write, that sentence was going nowhere. Anyway, since it’s a different set of ley lines from the first, I need to completely redesign the circle to be able to channel their energies.

----
>>
This is what you had been looking for. You read on. Throughout 60 years, Tobias works on the creation of the circle in your basement, and studies the spirit. Once he thinks he’s learnt everything about it, he and Wooster cover the dolmen with dirt, saying that “perhaps some day this might be a good study for someone else.”

Towards the end of the book, he repeats the idea that he’d need at least one more circle further down the stream, or perhaps even two more for his “great plan”. What exactly this plan is is never written down.

You and Raphael look at each other. You can barely believe what you both just read. This must be the mystical discovery of the century!

You head to the dining room and eat with the rest of the team. Even Milly is there for once. She wants to inform you of her findings, but you tell her of yours first. “Can you conform what he wrote down there with your own findings?” You ask her.

“Yes I can, sir. Just to test it out, I activated it in my observatory, and I found several ley lines, which I traced for a few moments each. There are six or seven ley lines crossing each other at the exact point of the magical circle. The largest of them continues up north and goes underneath the dolmen. Supposedly with the power of all these lines together, the warlord would have been successful in his attempt. The single line, while still being the largest of the ones gathered here, only barely gave him enough energy to not completely whither away and move on.”

When you’re almost finished with dinner, you suddenly get a call from Arbitrator Hecate.

“Ma’am? I was about to call you myself, We’ve had some-“ You begin.

“We’ll talk about that later, Primus. We’ve got a bit of a problem. We believe there’s a werewolf on the loose in your area. At least one, but if we don’t hurry this could grow into a pack of them.”

Werewolves. You haven’t faced them before, but from what you’ve studied and heard, there’s a few different types of them. The most common one is the ‘standard’ werewolf. If their victim is left alive, they undergo a horrifying transformation which is completed on the first full moon after their infection. After that, they transform every night. Before being fully transformed, they can be cured, but after that it’s too late and they have to be put down. There’s barely anything left of the person they previously were, only a bestial and aggressive monster remaining. During the day, they’re visibly indistinguishable from another person, and though their bestial mind set remains, they’ll most likely try to flee any confrontation until the night comes.
>>
“What’s the situation?” You ask.

“Two weeks ago, a woman was attacked by what she claimed was a larger-than-human dog or wolf of some kind. The police dismissed it as the panic of the moment making it seem bigger, so nothing was filed in and it didn’t get sent through to us. Last night was the first of the full moon, and she’s gone missing, which is how it got us involved. There’s been no other attacks other than her, so we believe her progenitor simply passed through the region. Your orders are to track her down and put her down before she can infect anyone else. Remember, if they infect anyone during a full moon night, they’ll trigger the full transformation immediately and they’ll be lost to us too. I’m sending the operation details to Agent Hackland.”

>Operation details are the dry facts about where the attack happened and which police officers the woman communicated with etc.

Very well ma’am, I’ll get it done. But I'll ask Agent Hackland to send you a brief summary of our recent findings, you will find them interesting and shoot them to the right people I think.
>>
>>39111401
>Very well, we're on it.

In character knowledge:
Can we requisition a tracking dog or something? Do we need silver bullets or some other gimmick?
How do werewolves even work in this setting, can they transform at will, or only forced at exposure to moonlight?

Also tell the lads to gear up, we're going on a hunt!
>>
>>39111401
Oh and also, is there a way to cure lycanthropy? Although I guess by "lost to us" it means it's a one way street.
>>
>>39111508
They transform every night regardless of any presence of the moon from the moment they underwent a full transformation during a full moon.
Milly should have some detection equipment available, but I suppose a tracking dog could be more specific and faster, so sure.

>>39111508
It can be cured before they undergo the full transformation. They're the same person until that happens. Once it does, it's incurable.
>>
>>39111672
>>39111508

“Ok. Good luck, Weston.” And with that, Lilliana lays in the call.

“Ok people, we’ve got a job. Gear up, we’re going werewolf hunting.” You give them the outline of the situation, and everyone goes to get their gear. Once in the vehicles, Milly informs everyone of the background details over the team’s com units.

>"Alright folks, this is a werewolf. Regrettably, there really is no clean way to take care of these things, so don't break your neck looking for one. While capture would be nice, don't go out of your way for it. Our priority is making sure the infection does not spread. That means silver bullets, high-frequency emitters ((these are basically sound grenades, I'd assume they're in every anti-werewolf kit)), and check your kill. Even if we confirm one down, we'll be pulling an all-nighter to make sure we didn't miss one. We'll only be slowing down once at 1AM for a coffee-slash-piss break, and I expect we'll be running on caffeine pills towards the end."
>>
>>39112203
You're making a lot of assumptions there about things we haven't been told. Also, we were told that silvers bullets wont be needed for this type of werewolf.
>>
Head to her adress first, check up on her partner if he's there, maybe he knows where she ran off to in case she ran off. Gather some scent sample for the tracking dog. Make sure Milly gives that brief summary to our boss, I'm sure she can pack a page worth of info into five sentences or so.

>>39112238
It's okay, OP will point out if something is against our in character knowledge.
>>
>>39112306
I'll use the post but adapt it to in-character knowledge.

Anyway, writing for home address.
>>
>>39112380
One more tidbit I didn't really get around to telling you, but that you know in character:
If someone is attacked in a night of a full moon, and is thus immediately undergoing the full transformation, this process leaves them as too much of a wreck to do much because of the very short term in which their body is undergoing changes. Throughout the night their body will morph into wolf-parts and back, and one hour after beginning the full transformation is the point of no return.

This means that if any of you get hit, but the sun comes up after less than an hour, the transformation isn't complete yet and the person can still be cured.
>>
>>39112488
Sounds like a careful trap-and-hunt situation.
>>
>>39112488
Is there a way, by science or magic, to halt transformation (cryo tech, stasis, time magic) and stabilize the afflicted?

I guess we better keep our distance and telekinesis ready regardless. Also how good are phosphorus bullets against furries?
>>
>>39112632
As long as we're careful, they're probably useful, but it's not exactly a usual choice of munitions and we will need to clean it up, because kids, civvies, our animals could get hurt from it.
>>
Alright folks, this is a werewolf. Regrettably, there really is no clean way to take care of these things, so don't break your neck looking for one. While capture would be nice, don't go out of your way for it. Our priority is making sure the infection does not spread. That means always go for lethal, and check your kill. Even if we confirm one down, we'll be pulling an all-nighter to make sure we didn't miss one. If we do find one, don’t go in alone, especially at night. I don’t want to have to put one of you down either.”

On the way to the town, you notice there’s lots of fields with livestock and crops around it. If the werewolf goes into those, it might be a pain to find.

You park both your vehicles a short distance away from the small apartment block where the woman lived after dropping off Liam bit further away.

At the base of the apartment building, you’re greeted by a woman in her early twenties in jeans and a hoodie saying “Support the fine arts, shoot a rapper”. On a leash, she’s holding something you’ve seen before, but never saw in action before. A Wōdenshund. Closely related to their mundane cousins the dog, these creatures are supernatural trackers, being able to detect magic and mundane smells far beyond most other creatures.

“Heya Michael, long time no see!” The woman says. You have no idea who she is, but it’s as good a cover as any you suppose. “Lilly told me you needed Dax’s sniffing nose for a moment, so I thought I’d simply join in.”

Dax looks at you curiously, and points its nose at each of your team members. At those with mystical powers it takes a short while longer before it moves on, but it doesn’t seem to notice Blake at all.

The woman moves in to give you a friendly hug and kiss.

You hug her back.

“Oculus agent Helena Sanders reporting for duty, sir.” She whispers in your ear. You notice she’s also wearing a com, so you quickly inform her of the squad frequency.

"Good to see you too Helena."

You head over to the werewolf’s apartment, on the top floor of the five-stories high apartment block. There’s a lot less people on the way up than on the streets, so you can safely talk with Helena.

“Dax has been sniffing around like crazy. There’s definitely something going on here, but he’ll probably need a personal item of the target to track her down properly. The info said she disappeared from her home, so that’s the perfect place to start the tracking anyway.”

You nod, and introduce the rest of the squad. Over the com, Liam grunts something that could potentially be identified as “ello”. Helena immediately gives a cheerful impression, and she seems to have a close bond to her Wōdenshund. The leash is never tight, and Dax sticks to her side at all times.

Once at the door, you decide how to go in.

Nathan and Blake stay back covering the stairs and the elevator. Raphael and Helena guard the corridor so you can call in Helena if you have anything for Dax to sniff out. You stand next to Katherine as she rings the doorbell.

A few seconds after, the door swings open, and a man is staring at you. Mid-thirties you’d say, and scared out of his mind. You don’t even need your telepathy, you can see it plainly on his face.

“Did you find… Wait, are you police?” He asks.

“We’re part of a special taskforce. We’ve been assigned to assist the police in their search.” Katherine tells the man. “Can we come in for a moment?”

“Uh, sure.” He steps back and lets you enter. The flat itself is unremarkable. “Why is there a taskforce involved though. Is she in any trouble?”

“We can’t say just yet. Right now we just have to find her, and then we’ll see. We’d just like to ask you a few questions.” You tell him.

Werewolves don't have much more sapience than your average dog or wolf. In society they could pass as a highly irate hobo at best. They can't talk aside from spouting random gibberish with a recognisable word here and there.

There are some theories amongst the scholars of the cerebrum that the older they get, the smarter and more rational they become. No proof of this has been found yet, and even the wildest theories don't believe they could still speak and act like a human.

“When was the last time you saw her?” You ask.

“Yesterday afternoon. Around 4 o’clock.”

“Did she seem confused, angry? Anything feel wrong about her?”

“I… Err… Not really. I mean…” You stare at him. He’s visibly uncomfortable. “Ok, well, we had a bit of a fight.” He admits, but he quickly adds: “But nothing serious. Nothing to run away for like this.”

“What was it about?” Katherine asks. You can feel a slight whiff of psionic energy being used by her. She seems to be making him slightly more cooperative and at ease.

“We’ve… We’ve been trying to go for a baby, and we just… Ya’ know. But when we started talking afterwards, she got frustrated. Said I wasn’t taking it serious enough and ran off. She usually comes home an hour later or so if she does that.” The man tells you.

“So she’s done this before?” You ask.

“Yeah. A couple of times.”

“Does she have any places she likes to go around here? Some special place where she seeks refuge under stress, somewhere secluded or in nature perhaps?” Katherine says.

“Yeah. She likes the meadows outside of town. We met out there. I think it makes her remember those days.” You quickly open up a map on a tablet and he points you towards an area just outside town. If you know the way through some of the smaller streets, which SHE probably does, you could get there on foot in 15 minutes from here.

“Could we have an item of clothing from her? We have specially trained dogs that could assist us in our search.” You tell him.

“Yeah, sure. Wait a second.” He gets up, moves int what you suspect is the bedroom and comes out with a fairly sweaty nightshirt. “Is this fine?”

You'll be glad to know that I haven't actually played Vampire: The Masquerade then. It's somewhere on my to-do list, along with way too many other classics I'll never get around to playing.

And since there's quite some interest in the other type of werewolf I'll write a bit of info about them in the voting downtime.

Considering we've come into contact with him, how much can or should we tell him about state his gf is in? I guess he didn't learn enough to warrant a mindscrub yet. And that bobbies are with us or have received plausible cover story of why our merry band got involved.

I have no idea where that 2 came from. She only has 3 mind.
>>
>>39114193
You haven't dealt with werewolves before, but Katherine informs you that standard procedure for werewolf PR is that the subject has contracted a highly dangerous disease and has to be tracked down before she becomes contagious to prevent its spread. When the target is then terminated it can be said that it was too late for her and she died from the disease. It also explains why a special taskforce is needed.

Only if the people around the infected person came in direct contact with them transforming or in a transformed state are they enlightened or mindscrubbed depending on their personal dispositions.

>>39114132
The original werewolves, often called Lupi to differentiate them from the “common” werewolves, are intelligent mystical creatures with barely any connection to humans. As they were hunted they learned how to shape-shift into them to blend in. When in their original form, they are roughly the size of a small rhinoceros, and are supernaturally fast, strong, and can shrug off most spells. The only things they don't seem to be particularly strong against are silver and telepathy. The other types of psionics they seem to be equally resistant to as spells. They feed on fresh meat, and what kind they care not. They care little for human lives or laws, though they are wary of the Order, who hunted them to near extinction due to the danger they pose.

This and some other tidbits about regular werewolves and the Wōdenshunden will be added to the settings pastebin somewhere throughout or after the thread.

“Thanks for the help. If we find anything, we'll let you know as soon as possible.” You say. With that, you leave the flat with the nightshirt in hand. Outside, you gather your team and let Dax sniff the shirt. He immediately starts looking around a bit, not letting out a single sound apart from the sniffing itself.

“Ok, give him some time to sniff around a bit. He’s got the base scent and he’s trying to isolate her specific scent by getting to know other scents from her environment that might not necessarily be on or from her.” Helena tells you.

About a minute or two later, Dax lets out a bark, Helena throws him a treat, which he gracefully catches with his mouth, and she hooks him back on the leash. “Let’s go then, shall we?”

You tell Liam to join you, and when you get to the ground floor he meets you as Dax leads you into several small alleyways behind the apartment block. You come across a couple of teenagers hanging around. They may or may not be doing drugs, but it’s not really your concern.

After about fifteen minutes, you reach the outskirts of town, and the meadows stretch out ahead of you. There’s quite a lot of wind out here, and Dax hesitates for a moment. He looks at Helena for a while before looking back at the meadows.

“The wind is making things difficult for him. Spreads her scent all over the place. He can still track her, but we’ll have to cover a wider area to be sure.”

At least you’ve got quite a lot of visual range. There’s a few areas with a bunch of trees and bushes together, so it’s most likely she’ll be inside one of those.

>How do you proceed?
>1. Stay together in one group and follow Dax’s nose. This will take the longest time but it’ll be the safest.

Find a sniping position for Liam, preferably with the wind in his face to hide him from the Werewolf. Then spread out covered by Liam's rifle.

If you don't find her before tonight, it's highly likely that she'll be able to infect more people, and they you have an entire pack of werewolves on your hands. It's full moon for another night after this one too, so it could go up exponentially if left alone for too long.

That said, it's around 3pm in the afternoon. You don't have to worry until around 7 before she could transform. If you find her or if she notices you tracking her though, she'll try to get away from you as much as possible.

You ask Raphael but he says camouflage is not within his powers. As for mundane camouflage, you've got your semi-camouflaged combat gear on you (which you'll switch into now because you might be getting into a combat situation now.)
>>
>>39114895
Time for perception rolls?
>>
You change into combat gear. There’s no one around, and you don’t want to be caught off guard by the wolf. Guns are handed out, and everyone has at least a handgun to defend themselves with.

Liam finds himself a vantage point overlooking most of the meadow. There’s some places obscured by trees, but if need be he can relocate pretty quickly. The rest of you fan out, keeping Dax and Helena in the middle. You carefully proceed, but you’ve got the wind to your backs as you follow the trail.

Suddenly, you have movement. It’s erratic, and moves away from your group. Nathan almost opens fire before realising it’s a rabbit and calling off the alarm. Things grow a bit tense. She might not be infectious right now, but even in human form they can be quite dangerous since they’re stronger and faster than regular humans.

You use your telepathy to scout out ahead too, but your range is fairly limited.

2 hours later, you’ve covered a lot of the meadow, but the trail doesn’t seem to stop. Liam has had to catch up to the group once already to not lose track of you. Ahead, you can see a small forest loom up.

It’s around 5 pm. It’ll take another hour to get to the forest, but the trail is heading straight for it. In 2 hours you run the risk of running into a transformed werewolf.

>1. Follow the trail, head into the forest.
>2. Head to the forest and set up a perimeter between the forest and the town. If you spread out with ~100 meters between everyone with some lamps placed between each other you should be able to make a wall she can’t get through without being noticed.

Double Time it and bring the group together. We need to catch this before spreading but we definitely do not want to be in a dark forest at night on a full moon hunting a werewolf.

“If it’s in there, we’re gonna have a hell of a time finding it.” Nathan says over the com.

“Indeed.” You think things through for a moment. “Blake, Nathan, Raphael, round up some cattle. We’ll compensate the farmer if they actually get hurt. Helena, could Dax help with that?”

It takes a few moments before the com springs back to life. “I can try, but it’d be new to him. I’ll have to break out my second bag of treats.” She replies.

“Very well. Liam, get over here, we’re going to need everyone. Raphael and us will go ahead and get to the forest edge. We’ll set up a perimeter so that it won’t be able to slip through undetected, and we’ll put the livestock in the center as bait. I’m calling in reinforcements.

A quick status update and a request to Lilliana later and your backup is on its way. They’ll be at your location in about two hours. It’s the evening rush though, so they might be later due to traffic. Sadly the Order hasn’t invented traffic-ignoring cars yet, though they are allowed to pose as police vehicles to get through faster.

An hour later, you’re at the edge of the forest, and you’re carefully scouting through the edges of the forest, just to see if it’s not close enough to grab. You’re down-wind by now so you shouldn’t be detected if you’re careful enough. You reach out your mind and-

“If he doesn’t wake up soon I say we get him out of here before the sun truly sets. At least a bit away from the perimeter.” You hear a voice You can’t quite identify whose voice.

You’re helped upright, and you feel life returning to your limbs. You recognised it from before, but you still have no clue what it was. It felt like… Something intervening. Changing something. You don’t know what it was changing or why either.

“Are you ok?” Asks Raphael. “I mean, I tried to heal you but you were perfectly ok physically.”

“Yeah, I’m fine.” You say. You’re starting to fel ok. As long as the werewolf doesn’t jump at you within 5 minutes you’ll be fully recovered. And judging from the sun at the horizon, it might take another half hour before it’s truly down. “How long was I out?” You ask.

“About half an hour. Have you had this before?” Asks Blake.

“Once, at the farm, but not as badly.” You tell him. “Raphael, could you try and detect mind-altering or affecting spells on me?”

You see Raphael’s eyes glow for a moment as he stretches his arms out towards you. A moment later he starts talking again. “Nothing that I can detect. What does it feel like?”

You try to describe the feeling. Cold, dark. A few other things. And at the same time a strange sensation that you simply can’t describe at all.

“I’ve never heard of anything like that, outside of a bad dream.” Raphael says.

“Reminds me of my Abyssal, but if that was the case there’d be several other symptoms by now which you lack.” Says Blake.

You turn your mind inward. It’s a standard exercise for telepaths of your class, but it’s been a while since you did it. You go over your mind, and while you don’t find anything wrong or being affected by something, it gives you a strange feeling you’ve never had from that before. Like there’s something wrong with a tiny portion of your head, but your own mind scan makes it seem just fine.

You’re not sure what to think of that. It might have to wait though, as the sun is starting to go down. You assure the rest of the team that you’re fine, and you take up positions. The grunt squad you requested is late, but you get a text that they’ll be there in fifteen minutes.

The team has set up a small semi-circle with two cows in the middle of the perimeter. The animals seem to know something is wrong, but they don’t dare to flee either. They don’t really know where to, you suppose. You follow the original plan and Nathan and you are next to the circle, the rest of the team is spread out further to cover more ground. It might just ignore the cows and try to slip past.

A few minutes later, you hear something in the bush. For a moment you’re uncertain about using it again, but you have to be sure. You spread out your mind ahead of you, and you feel a bestial presence. That’s her. That’s it.

“It’s here, get to the center quickly!” You say in hushed tones into your com unit. Damn it, where the hell is your back up?

You feel the beast coming closer, but as suddenly bursts out of the foliage, you’re fast enough to respond that it doesn’t even get close. You run back a short while, turn around again and shoot towards it. It misses, but it had the effect you wanted. The werewolf is keeping its distance, and is starting to circle you. The cows are fleeing away from it, but it seems to rate you higher priority than them.

This is the ideal situation though. Nathan is already in position and the rest of the team will be here soon. Liam should already be lining up his shot.

Guys you're all reading it wrong. It's % chance of rolling something with the amount of dice.
Essentially.
1 roll 1% chance of 100 or 1
2 roll 2% chance of 100 or 1
and so on.
With 100 rolls you have 100% chance of getting either 100 or 1 once. Of course real life isn't as nice as statistics. It is random after all.
>>
You reach forward with your mind and try to grab the beast. Just as you do though, it jumps sideways, and its movement breaks the grip you were establishing.

Nathan fires a short burst of rounds, but now the wolf is actively dodging around, getting closer and closer to you. Every time you almost have it held down again it makes a wild movement and jumps around, breaking free of your powers.

Liam doesn’t miss though. You hear a bang from a few hundred meters away, and the impact slams the wolf to the side and knocks it down. You think it might have shattered its hip.

It gets up remarkably fast though. It won you some time, but you have to capitalise on it now or it’s right on top of you. You think you could lead it towards Nathan so he has a better shot, or you could try to hold it again now it’s momentarily in place. Or you could try something completely different.

Meanwhile the others should be getting close too, but it’s too hard to tell right now.

>1. Lead it to Nathan.
>2. Try to hold it again.
>3. Attack it telekinetically.

If Telepathy was our strong suite, I'd suggest amplifying it's pain to blackout levels, but we're a Telekinetic.

So yeah, this happened. Success, writing.

Actually, I forgot to account for Raphael's angelic magic. That means he just barely passes. Not that it matters any more, but that was in case your hold failed again.

You grab hold of the werewolf and this time it doesn’t struggle free. You push it together, making it’s muscles as awkward as possible so it can retaliate much less against your powers, and it works. You’re even squeezing it slightly, and with that shattered hip, it’s bound to hurt.

Nathan’s salvo impacts it together with Katherine’s handgun shot. From both sides, its torso is filled with lead and it lets out an inhuman cry. You’re startled for a moment, but manage to hold on to it just as you feel some sort of magical shield snap shut around you.

The cry is cut short as its head crumbles. Liam’s final shot splintered the skull. Not even a werewolf could have survived that, but you check it out with your telepathy to be sure. Yup. It’s dead al right.

The team starts gathering up the lamps around the perimeter, and about 10 minutes after the kill your backup arrives.

“Better late than never, eh Vindicator Primus Weston?” A large man in full combat gear salutes you. “Vindicator Primus Loggins. Sorry for the delay, traffic was hell. We tried to get here as fast as possible. Do we have any possible infected tonight?”

>1. Nope. It didn’t have any opportunity for that. At least you can help with the cleanup now.
>2. There might have been someone in the forest, we better sweep it to be sure.

Prepare to have some part of your theory to be shattered. You're on to something though, don't give up just yet.

“There might have been someone in the forest, we better sweep it to be sure.” You say.

“Understood. Alright boys, we’re sweeping the forest!” He yells in his com. You sincerely hope his squad mates have his volume turned down. If they don’t, their ears must bloody well hurt right now. “Standard sweeping formation. Careful, we might have a transforming wolfie out there.”

Your and Primus Loggin’s teams sweep the forest thoroughly. It’s not a big one, but you go through it again on the way back to make sure you don’t miss anything. A shaking and randomly transforming human/werewolf should be easy to notice, but there’s not a single human being in there. By the time the sweeps are finished, it’s almost midnight though.

You thank Primus Loggins for his help, gather up your equipment and prepare to depart with your own team when suddenly Helena approaches you.

“Hey, uh, I was dropped off by my handler, would you mind if I hitched a ride and used your place to crash for now? I’ll get them to pick me up tomorrow morning, and their HQ”, and she points to Loggins and his team who are loading into their vans, “Is a bit out of my way.”

>1. Sure Helena, come along. We’ve got a spare room or two.
>2. Sorry Agent, can’t do that.
>3. Write in.

That was my last post for tonight, I went on for much longer than I was planning to already.

Next thread on Wednessday. I've got a holiday for the next 2 weeks, so I'll be able to run a few more threads per week than usual, so I might run again on Thursday.

Let's see what happens when we put two Oculus chicks in one room...

>1. Sure Helena, come along. We’ve got a spare room or two.
>3. Notify HQ that we're swept the forest, no sight of any other infected, and we'll be returning Agent Helena to her station.
