But I'll level with you anon, it really wasn't. I wanted to show the contrast of what Katie thinks about herself ,what katie thinks the world see's her as and what people think about her in actual snakequest reality itself. Because she's a horribly deluded hikki with a (mostly justified) inferiority complex. I thought it'd be a feely emotional look inside the her mind from that standpoint, but looking back it just didn't work out the way I wanted it to and I'd say it was mostly a mistake except maybe towards the end.

It was just 100% grimderp all the time with no buildup, it was fully intended.

Burning wreckage and plantlife surrounds you, a black misty fog clouding your vision. Your sword is covered in cold blood and you find yourself unsure what to do with yourself. You are the Fume Knight, And you just murdered some snake girl in some weird-ass dreamscape. As you stare down at the armor-clad corpse of the girl who desperately tried to save herself from your blade, laying on the cold street below, you begin to muse on why you are here, and where here is, with what little brain power your AI has. Darkness closes in around you as the land breaks apart, and you realize that this might actually be that little girl's dream. You suppose you don't have long, then.

You take a good look around you, and spot a few other inhabitants of this dream. There's some snake woman leaning against a light pole smoking, with what looks like another little girl's corpse sitting in her lap. You hear giggling to your right and see two tall faceless woman things giggling and whispering to each other as they point at the girl you just killed, and finally somewhere in the distance you hear someone stuttering and hissing up a storm as they curse to themselves.

With the dream dwindling you start thinking on how you want to spend your remaining time.

The building crumbles a bit, causing you to almost fall, but it stays strong enough for you to keep up against it, brushing it off like you meant to do that. "Hey." You quickly try to decide how to go about this.

You both share a good laugh, both of you angling your faces as to not blow smoke at each other. "So, Whatcha doing after this?" You ask with a tilt of your head, trying to be as emotive as possible with an anus for a face. "Nothing much, really. Hunting in the woods. You?" "Mining." You reply swiftly. "But it's pretty damn easy to ditch that area, it's way out in the middle of the woods too. You a lamia out there, too?"
