It's been a few weeks since I committed my second murder... it was in self-defense and she DEFINITELY deserved it and I'd definitely do it again if I had to, but that doesn't really make me feel any better about it. Oh- wait, that's right. Jessica wasn't the only one who I killed that day, Irene sacrificed herself to hold that psycho in place so that I could have a clear shot.

I always forgot about that since Irene didn't actually stay dead.

Speaking of which, I haven't really seen much of Irene since that day. She called a few times to make sure that I wasn't getting any more trouble, but things have thankfully been pretty quiet around these parts. The only real troubling thing lately is that my grades have been in slipping thanks to all the classes I've been missing thanks to the murder I've gotten caught up in.

Stupid attendance-based grading systems...

As far as my personal life goes, things have been more or less good. Mina doesn't seem to be pissed at me anymore and is actually willing to do stuff with me again, though her free time's been increasingly occupied by what I'm assuming is a new girlfriend. She gets all embarrassed whenever I try to pry about it though, so I don't really have much actual information on that front.

Theresa seems to be engrossed in her own personal stuff... while I am curious, I'm not really sure if I should be prying. At least she's willing to talk to me again.

Charlotte... even though she's accomplished her goal in coming to this city, her father doesn't seem to have any problem with letting her and Gabrielle keep staying here for the time being. Needless to say, I'm very grateful for that. When not at achool, I've been spending most of my free time in her hotel suite, eating or just hanging out or... doing other stuff.

Oh, and I've been practicing with my Branch power, too!

Good to be back at this. This time we won't fuck everything up.

The laser seems pretty powerful during the day anyway and being able to REALLY manipulate the light around us will make it much easier to hide at night. Not to mention that minor beams at night probably won't be enough to get other users to back down.
Really the only issue would be animal branches for their sense of smell or hearing.

Bugging Theresa's out of the question since I'll be with Charlotte and she doesn't really care for her. And I could always give Mina a call and see what she's up to, but chances are that she's busy making out with her mystery girlfriend who I'm pretty sure is that Korean girl who we met a while back.

"Umm... nothing, probably," Charlotte replies. "If anything, she's probably playing videogames. Why, you wanted to pay her a visit?"

I hear the flap of familiar wings fluttering over me. Though my eyes are closed, I can tell that it was Loki who just flew overhead. It's almost impossible to hear Rhaccy when he flies, and the gusts of wind from his wings are a lot stronger than Loki's.

Fortunately, the elevator's pretty fast today and we make it to the ground floor without much of a wait at all. And even more fortunately, that annoying guy who works at the hotel is nowhere to be found!

"The pizzeria that Gabrielle wanted to go to is over this way, I think..." Charlotte says, pointing down the sidewalk while looking at her phone. I guess she has a map pulled up.
"Shouldn't we take a taxi instead?" I ask. "Gabrielle's waiting for us, and-"
"Oh yeah, you're right," she says, slapping her forehead. "That probably would be a good idea..."

And so, she waves one over and we hop inside. As we ride, I lean my head against the window and start to drift off...
