>Summary:
You are techpriest Heracor Nahive. You were forcefully implanted a brain chip that made you into little more than a working drone, after escaping your homeworld you somehow got yourself into the Inquisitorial Cruiser “Speculum Animæ”.

>Main Mission:
- Become stronger and fight the Magus that installed the chip on your brain.
>>Secondary Missions:
- Take care and protect Lanky.
- Restore and clean the frigate in less than three weeks.
- Purge the frigate!!
>>Optional Missions:
- Try to destroy the heretical information store on your brain.
>>
In front of you stood the best Skitarii warriors with their fierce and powerful flamers heading towards the infected parasitic ship and leading with them small groups of servitors purposed with the same flame weapons and equipped with a soap mixed promethium stew that would stick to the surfaces of the ship and burn for long without damaging its integrity.

The rest of the workers had gotten their stomachs, synthetic or organic, full with the Cathedral’s protein paste and vitamin pills and were now carrying the still unconscious body of the old and now defeated leader, Anabelle.

You felt a small hand pulling from your robe twice, a young, no more than thirteen years old, and somewhat bony skitarii approaches you silently, there was fear on his organic eyes but also a glint of hopeful and fiery light that you lit up the moment you defeated the tyrannous boss shining like a pair of neutron stars.

“Sir…you are our new leader and I don’t want you to die. Now that you are on top of the pyramid you may access our bionics, please return alive, I’m scared of Anabelle returning to power.”

After saying that he quickly turned around and ran away crying and sobbing, surely this was seen as a weak act by the old leader but for you this was nothing but a normal reaction for somebody of his age and situation. Before choosing what to do another one spoke for him.
>>
>>39301690
“Don’t punish him, even if lacrimal secretions are forbidden all of us have cried on some point of our lives…”

You started to understand how harsh the direction of the old leader was since even some of the most basic human emotions were not only seen as a sign of weakness but were even punishable.

“You…” Said a third Skitarii. “You should maybe listen to the advice he gave you and go check the bionics, most of our bionics are designed for combat or are just weapon grafts that substitute limbs but a little bit of extra firepower is always good.”

>Go and check the bionics, the Skitarii and servitors can wait and defend themselves for some hours.
>Try to repair your arms as best as you can and head to the frigate, you might be able to be completely healed inside.
>There is no time to lose, get some painkillers and coil your dendrite arms around your numb and irresponsible ones to act as some sort of working limbs.
>Write in.

>Go and check the bionics, the Skitarii and servitors can wait and defend themselves for some hours.
I wanna be in tip top condition for this next part. It's early days in nurgleland so we should be safe leaving the skitarii on 'burn everything that moves or smells funny' duty for the time being.

If we can we should also push Eugen through some medical attentions and give her the opportunity to grab some upgrades if she's so inclined.

Best to leave Faust holding the line for the moment.
>>
>>39301716
>Need to kill the demonhost first
Are you referring to Wilhemina?
>>
>>39301800
I guess that the anon is referring to her yes. She's infected, not a daemonhost, but thanks for the idea...

Oh btw. I think that nobody has noticed it yet but Wilhemina is the long and archaic version of the name Velma; just a small joke.

>Also. The Bionic list is almost 10.000 characters. Should I write the wall of text or just put it in a pastebin?
>>
When we get the chance, we should ask the inquisitor to recruit Oihan, as she will just retire after their campaign is over.
>>
>>39301840
Just post it
>>
>>39301840
Yeah, post it here in thread.

>> ACCESSING AUGMENTIC DATABASE FROM: SKITARIUS TEMPLE
>1-FULL BODY CONVERSIONS:
1.1: GIGAS MECHANICA:
If a Skitarii removes its four limbs it can opt to apply a Gigas conversion of its body. The torso is encased into a superdense armature of enormous dimensions. ( 10 feet tall // 3 meters tall && 1650 lbs // 750 kg ). Most common combat bionics has a Gigas equivalent of bigger proportions, caliber or quantity. As all the body is encased in the armor this bionic is incompatible with dendrites. If applied the noise dampener’s sphere of action won’t cover its new body completely. (xGM = GIGAS MECHANICAS COMPATIBILITY )

>2-TOTAL ARM EXCHANGES
2.1: Autogun: An easy to maintain weapon with multiple modification options and the chance of using different kind of munitions. Autogun ammo is easy to make and find. Weak against armored enemies but effective against unarmored ones. There is also the chance to install smaller versions that can be hidden in the armguard.

• xGM1= Twin Linked Autogun: Stability isn’t very affected but burns magazines fast. Its stats increase and thus it becomes a little bit more effective against armored ones and very powerful with lightly armored ones.
• xGM2= Autocannon: Rounds are somewhat harder to find but not impossible. It is a death bringer with infantry and lightly armored vehicles. Somewhat hard to aim and fire due to its weight and recoil.
• xGM3= Assault Cannon: The most powerful Auto-weapon installable on the Gigas frame. It is way faster than the autocannon and is able to pierce even thick armor if the firepower is sustained enough. On the downside it lacks the range of the autogun and autocannon and is the only Gigas autoweapon that cannot be fired when in movement.
>>
>>39301910
2.2 Flamer: Flamers unleash a liquid incendiary chemical, usually promethium, that bursts into flame as it leaves the weapon. They are valued for their ability to destroy many enemies at once, regardless of any protective cover. Both flamers and the more compact hand flamers are considered assault weapons due to their relatively short range. A smaller and weaker version can be installed on the forearm instead of substituting the entire arm.

• xGM1= Heavy Flamer : An upgrade to the regular Flamer, its cone of fire is increased in dimensions and temperature. It also needs a bigger fuel deposit but since the Gigas bodyframe is also bigger this isn’t a constraint. It takes about thrice to fill up the deposit compared with the normal flamer thought.

2.3 Meltagun: Meltaguns are effective anti-armour weapons, used for close range assault and anti-tank roles. They are most effective at close-range, capable of reducing nearly any material to molten slag through super-heated blasts. There are not smaller versions able to be installed on the forearm.

• xGM1= Multi-Melta: The multi-melta is a vicious and effective Imperial anti-tank weapon, with longer range than its man-portable counterpart but still shorter than other heavy weapons. Targets are just melted away, turning creatures to ash and vehicles into twisted goo. Personal armor cannot offer even scant protection from a multi-melta. Due to their size, multi-meltas are usually mounted on vehicles.
>>
>>39301933
2.4 Plasma Gun: The weapon fires a highly energised ball of hydrogen-based plasma. This plasma ball or "bolt" is accelerated through a magnetic accelerator, which upon impact with the target detonates with the power of a small sun.Generally Imperial models are prone to overheating and can cause severe injury or death to the user should they experience such a meltdown. He can install a regular plasma gun or his personal one. A smaller version equivalent to a plasma pistol can be installed on the antibrachium

• xGM1= Plasma Cannon: Due to its size and massive power requirements, plasma cannons tend to be found mainly on vehicles. The weapon generates plasma which it fires as a glowing super-heated bolt of energy, which on hitting an object, reacts with its matter to produce spheres of boiling nuclear energy like miniature suns. For this reason they have the informal name of "sun gun". The gun itself has a similar effect to the plasma gun, except this weapon does damage over a much larger area. Several individuals can be caught in one blast, making the plasma cannon a potent weapon. Unless hooked up to a vehicle's systems, a plasma cannon suffers from the usual overheating problems that plague other plasma weapons
>>
>>39301953
2.5 Lasgun: The lasgun uses the same basic technology and operates along the same lines as other laser weapons, emitting a beam of focused light. The high amount of energy in the beam causes the immediate surface area of a target to be vaporized in a small explosion. It is a relatively unimpressive weapon when compared to other weapons in the Imperium, but is still capable of cleanly severing limbs. A smaller version similar to a laspistol can be installed on the forearm.

• xGM1= Lascannon: The lascannon is a formidable laser weapon, capable of piercing most vehicle armour and killing powerful and heavily armoured troops. However, its slow recharge and fire rate make it a poor anti-personnel weapon.
• xGM2= Multilaser: Multiple reinforced barrels and enhanced phase capacitors allow for a standard laser discharge to be fired in a series of rapid bolts. While losing some of the penetrative power of a lascannon, the resulting high rate of fire improves the weapon's ability to engage a series of targets in rapid succession. Multi-lasers are highly effective against hordes of infantry or lightly-armored vehicles.

2.6 Grenade Launcher: Grenade launchers are relatively simple tubular weapons which can launch several different types of grenades using means such as compressed gas or an electromagnetic charge. Grenade launchers benefit from their ability to fire ordnance on an arching trajectory, allowing their shots to clear obstacles and lay down suppressive fire on unseen foes. There isn't miniature versions.

• xGM1= Missile Launcher: A Missile Launcher fires self-propelled guided projectiles that usually contain explosive, chemical, or destructive energy warheads. Missiles may use a chemical rocket, jet engine, or something more esoteric such as an anti-gravity drive, for propulsion. It is a single round weapon and cannot be fired on the move.
>>
>>39301972
2.7 Chainsword: Chain Weapons are close combat weapons which utilize a cutting chain mechanism along the length of the striking edge. They are most effective in assaults against lightly armored targets and are generally used in wide sweeping attacks to make full use of momentum for maximum impact and cutting strength. A hidden chainblade can be installed on the forearm.

• xGM1= Eviscerator: This Chain Weapon is fitted with a crude version of the disruption field generator more commonly found on Power Weapons. Although very unwieldy and tiring to use, the Eviscerator is fully capable of bisecting an armored man or tearing open the most blasphemously corrupted mutant in a single stroke of its gargantuan blade. It can slice through walls and even damage vehicles.

2.8 Work tools: There are several work tools that can be repurposed as weapons to a bigger or lesser degree. The most common ones are the drill, the jackhammer and the plasma torch. All those occupy the entire arm.

• xGM1= MeltaDrill: The Gigas armature permits the installation of a bigger drill with a power generator that can create a melta field. It is able to pierce even adamantium. It is slow to aim and control and needs some time to reach its peak of drilling speed and temperature.
• xGM2= Power Hammer: A Hydraulic hammer able to punch and lever anything on its patch, it can be used to push or pierce objects and even to detonate mines. Its massive strength doesn’t allow movement when using it.
>>
>>39301994
2.9 Digitarius weapons: The sacred form of the human hand is one of the most revered designs of evolution and creation among the Adeptus Mechanicus as the hands have been the reason of why every tool and weapon ever has been created and forged. The Digitarius weapons imitate the human hand. The bionics that can be installed into standard bodies are the metallic tentacles, the claws and the cestus; some metallic armature on the hand to give some protection and extra strength when it comes to landing punches; it is somewhat restraining thought and hard to shoot or do some other manual actions with those.

• xGM1= All-purpose hand: A near perfect mechanical reproduction of a human hand to use in transportation and work, it can be clenched to use as a fist but since it hasn’t been designed to use as a weapon it might be destroyed in the process.
• xGM2= Cestus: A fusion between the “All-purpose hand” and a “Power Fist” It can grab objects with some ease but it can be clumsy when doing delicate movements. It has protective plaques on the knuckles.
• xGM3= Power Fist: A power fist is a large metal gauntlet surrounded by an energy field that disrupts solid matter. It is large and slow in combat, and so the bearer must be willing to take damage before they can strike back. The benefits of the power fist are that it increases the user's strength.
>>
>>39302012
>3-LEG AUGMENTICS:

3.1 Talonspheres: A couple of small magnetic spheres situated on the talons that permit some sliding after gaining some momentum and quick turning. They don’t have an engine on their own so they can only advance for a small distance depending on the initial acceleration. AdMech Heelys

• xGM1= Tracks: Repurposed Cyclops tracks that can be used to impulse someone that dons the Gigas bodyframe. It is powerful enough to enable the ascension of stairs yet it its acceleration decreases highly when doing so. It can be fitted with a twin linked turbonitrous boost and a plow to mow away enemies in a quick dash.
• xGM2= Thrusters: Ion rockets installed in the calves that allow to lift off and make high jumps and even stay suspended in the air for a few seconds. They can be aimed into several directions to make different jumps and even turn them downwards to land faster and create a shock-wave or give a small boost when giving a kick.
>>
Ok, those are all the bionics, not as varied as the other times but it is because this time we are looking into the database of an Skitarii temple. Sorry if you guys were hopping for something different.
>>
>>39302078
Can we get our modified power sword and void shield back in our new arm? It would be cool.
I say we remain small, no need to get that gigas thing.

Also take a flamer. That should be enough for now.
And if possible equip our servo-skull with a flamer too.
>>
Oh man, so these are some pretty damn tasty upgrades coming our way.

Thoughts thus far:
I reckon we pass on the gigas conversion at this stage. This is because:
- it could take a while to get properly used to it and time is not something we have to spare right now
- we'd be very bulky inside a spaceship, gonna make manoeuvrability an issue
- as far as I can see we lose a lot of dexterity assuming we can't retain any dendrites and that we require the DigitariusxGM1 All purpose hand to do anything fine.
- In order to maintain our ability to do anything but fight we'd be losing out of those massive arm cannons and what not that make the gigas so useful in the first place

We should replace our squishy broken organic arm with a bionic one

I figure we keep the right bionic hand an all-purpose one (maybe with retractable claws still?) to keep us able to fire and do various other things with it.

I reckon the left we should switch to a cestus perhaps?

The leg talonspheres augmentations look pretty handy, especially when it comes to dodging nurgle swarms, so I vote we take those. Hopefully they won't interfere with our hidden feet blades, but if they're not compatible the mobility probably trumps the blades anyway.

>(Cont.)
>>
>>39302280

For our right arm I'd also like to see us restore the void shield and the hidden powerblade from the bionic arm we had ripped off.

For the left I reckon adding the smaller, weaker flamer on the forearm would be handy for emergency purging. We're 70% fire resistant so flame weapons are our friends now as a battlefield of fire is heavily in our advantage most of the time.

Some bionics that aren't listed that I'd be interested in:
- replacing our thighs with bionic ones so that our entire legs are mechanical instead of just the knee and down.
- Maybe bionic lungs so we don't have to worry about diseased air? I'd imagine bio-lungs could be made to be safe from contaminated air
- Could we stick flamers or plasma cutters on our dendrites? (Though I know there's none free right now)
>>
>>39302295
I support this, personally.
>>
>>39302239
>Can we get our modified power sword and void shield back in our new arm?
That's an option yes. Remember that his actual arms ( both organic and bionic ) are broken thought.

If people choose to do that I'll ask for a 2d100, the higher the better. The first roll will go to repair and extract the sword and shield from the old arm and the second roll to repair and install them in his new arm.

>Also take a flamer. That should be enough for now.
A flamer that occupies one of his arm or a smaller version that is installed on the forearm and leaves his hand free?

>And if possible equip our servo-skull with a flamer too.
I'll allow this. It will lose its taser weapons thought.

>>39302295

-Talonspheres
-Right arm ( Bionic ): Void Shield // Hidden Powerblade
-Left arm ( Organic ): Turning it mechanical and Smaller flamer.

Today I'm in a good mood so I will let you roll a 3d100 to see if he manages to exit the database and search other bionic options lying around and program those in the bionic forge machine.

>Summary: Roll 5d100 ( Best of three rolls ( Plus one roll by me if the rest are utter disasters... ) wins. )

If he is using the spheres to descend a metallic slope and suddenly uses the magnets to lock himself to the ground the spheres might grind a little and make a small shower of sparks until they stop but nothing else. At the same time if he is going fast and uses the magnets to eject himself in the air I guess that the speed would make the spheres to spin even faster, maybe even letting him do some kind of wall-ride or long-jumps.

Radical.

Also all these rolls for the arm repair and fixing the old bionics up are so good, holy hell. Wonder if we accidentally just upgrade them at the same time or something.

Basically it boils down to bionic lungs vrs improved shield and blade.

What kind of performance boost are we looking at for them?
>>
>>39302926
>What kind of performance boost are we looking at for them?
>Lungs
The lungs work more efficiently than human ones and are covered with a small chemical film that traps the toxins and separates them from the main bloodstream. With the installation there will be also two small plugs in his ribs that will connect the lungs with the exterior.

Basically all the nasty stuff gets trapped in the lungs and becomes liquid, from time to time Heracor will have to open those two plugs and let all the toxic slime to pour out of his body.

If not done and let it to accumulate the chemical film won't be able to hold it and all the sum of hazardous stuff inside will start poisoning him.

>Sword and Shield.
The void shield will be able to generate a bigger area while consuming the same amount of energy. The shield will be able to sheathe and unsheathe faster and become slightly more powerful.
>>
>>39303000
I am leaning towards the improved sword&shield.
The lungs are basically a fancy rebreather, and we have one of those. Put that on, and if the need should arise, we can still go for the lungs.
Also I would think that there would be some quite big downtime for lung replacement, and time is of the essence now.
>>
>>39303000
Dang, both choices are too tempting.

I'm currently leaning on lungs for that better breathing efficiency though. An idea that comes to mind is to somehow make use of the toxic discharges for poisonous weaponry - maybe coat darts with it, or fill shells, or something...
>>
>>39303058
I was thinking about just filling a super soaker with it, and firing disgusting gunk at people we fight.

>>39303000
I'd say lungs are a bit better in this case.

You thank the Skitarius for their help and catch up with the young and sobbing one.

"Greetings! I have a mission for you, why don't you descend into the arena-" His face turned into a mask of horror, he seemed to expect me to make him fight at any moment. "-And get that arm over there?"

He seemed relieved and then embarrassed, he ended peeing himself from fear. Without wasting any time and ignoring his soaked robes he ran towards the fighting pit and went towards the abandoned bionic limb that you signaled. A few minutes later he was in front of you looking at his feet and with his two arms raised, offering you what was already yours.

The arm was covered in dry sand and coagulated blood, there were also some sticky oil stains but overall it seemed that the internal mechanisms were somewhat able to survive the torture it endured. Taking it back to the workshop you signaled the last team to go to the frigate and to start the mission without you.

Taking the shield and the sword from the old arm proved to be hard but not something out of your skill level. You had to use your claw dendrites all the time but at the end they were as good as your actual hands. A small sentimentality hit you when looking at them, all dead and dirty, you ended placing them on your organic yet paralyzed hand, feeling them cold and quiet instead of hot and buzzing was a hard experience, their machine spirits weren't asleep...they were dead.

You proceeded with the Lazarus procedure to revive the dead machine spirits and let them inhabit those metallic vessels once again. It was a long and arduous procedure but thanks to the help of the others it was possible, as soon as you started chanting the litanies and prayers the rest stopped doing what they were busy with and joined your chants; you were their saviors and now they would help you save those spirits. Your clawed dendrites were shaking in anticipation when you were about to complete the last step.
>>
>>39303153
On your mind you were repeating to yourself over and over that the dendrites worked correctly and that since they were directly connected to your nervous system they shouldn't be trembling, but that wasn't your fault, it was the dendrite's machine spirits the ones who were nervous, another proof of how those spirits were more solid that what the Imperials from outside of the cult believed.

As you connected them to the main power and then lifted the switch a small light started appearing from them. The void illuminated like a small luminous sun and the sword started throwing sparks and becoming covered in a weak blue-ish aura.

They were back from the void.

You didn't wasted any time, when they were charged enough you removed your arm and let other Skitarii to help you installing those two components on them and repairing the damage sustained in the battle. The warrior seemed passionate and honored to help you, it was kind of annoying really as they were always looking and observing your actions. It was curious how back in your Forgeworld nobody looked at you since you weren't noteworthy enough and how now you were always being observed, both by the Inquisitor and now by the Skitarii temple.

They seemed to know what were they doing so you let them do the last procedures and headed to the medicae bay for a few painkillers, at first you couldn't feel pain but now it seemed that the trauma and the stress were gone and that the reality finally hit your pain sensors. Every movement was a torture and it seemed that your shoulder was going to stick out of your skin at any time.

When you were inside they didn't lost any time in checking and doing a X-ray scan. You also saw some other hagiographies from a crackled skull, it seemed that Anabelle, the old leader, suffered more than it seemed but you didn't felt any remorse from your actions at all.
>>
>>39303280
An attractive and barely bionic techpriest came with your results. She was somewhat hiding under her hood and only her round. There were some bruises on the other visible parts of her body...it seemed that the strong warriors abused of her when she communicated how damaged they were, that was another thing you would have to change, their mentality.

"The arm is way too damaged...you would need to be under painkiller for weeks and use a plaster if you want it to repair...you could of course remove it and install a artificial substitute."

You would have loved to place your hand on her shoulder and comfort her but as they didn't responded all you could have been able to do would be wiggling them awkwardly. Placing the clawed dendrites might have scared her even more so you just let it go and said that you did in fact want the bionic arm. Your words sounded cold and even maybe intimidating as you were tired and in pain, maybe she got a bad impression of you, maybe the inverse happened and she did think good of you because you didn't hit her after she brought bad news like the other warriors did.
>>
>>39303480
As you were being amputated and upgraded you asked one of the nurses to connect a data cable with the socket on your nape. You didn't needed to be completely asleep during the operation so meanwhile it was a good idea to close your eyes and explore the database searching for other augmentations that could increase your combat effectiveness.

Since you already saw the entire bionic list of the Skitarii you tried to exit it and search into other data trees. There were some bionics uncatalogued and lost, maybe forgotten eons ago but still be able to be reproduced if asked. Among the options you found the ones that caught your attention were some bionic lungs that could come in handing with the possible rot in the air that there might be in the frigate and some flamer and plasma torch and cutter dendrites. You could send them the specs and make them install those on your body too but since the lungs would require full chest aperture they would have to sleep you completely. You would need to choose what dendrites remove if you wanted to install the flamer or torch/cutters.

>You can add as many of those as you want ( Up to 12 )

That's what it's like to be head skitarii, Heracor. You have some new duties now, like designing weapons, help train neophytes if no one experienced is available, and settling disputes.
I don't think this prevents us from dabbling in other fields of study outside weaponry though.
>>
>>39303521
I reckon replacing the
>DENDRITE 6 - Metallurgis advanced tool: Soft cutter, Hard material cutter, Material analyzer.
with the plasma cutter is a good bet. We don't really see much use out of the material analyzer and the cutting capabilities will be exceeded by the plasma cutter.

And maybe replace
>DENDRITE 3 - Xenologis advanced tool: Potent scanner and explosive material detector.
with a flamer. Shouldn't be too hard to restore if we want it later, but we're not likely to come up against xeno explosives whilst combatting the current threat and another flamer would be pretty darn handy.
>>
>>39303521
We should replace the Psykana ,Explorator and Dialecta with flamers imo.
But once we clear the ship I think we should swap them back, as we'll have enough flame for generic non-fly-exterminating purposes in our other weapons.

How long does it take to switch the dendrites around? I imagine only their ends are changed, so if we were to carry those around in a box or something could we swap them on the fly?
>>
>>39303640
Also I forgot to ask, does the Psykana detect chaotic energies? If yes we should keep that.
>>
>>39303664
It detects them through what is likely unreliable pseudoscience that takes advantage of either high amounts of biocontamination, foreign particles, or abnormal energy readings of some form, I would not expect it to be reliable.
>>
I'm suddenly thinking about proton packs. Those would be great against non-materialized daemons.
>>
>>39303521
How about we replace ALL the dendrites apart from biolois explorator, pshycana and the weapons with flamers?
>>
>>39303770
I wanna keep the claws and drill and I reckon we should take at least one plasma cutter in case we find ourselves needing to get through anything particularly hardy.

Plasma cutter will shred that shit.

As for the other dendrites though, only the biologis and psykana are ones I think are worth keeping at this point except perhaps for the maths one since that maybe bolsters our targeting system?
>>
>>39303750
Can we just focus on things that are very nasty against nurgle demons

-Soap
-Fire
-Alcohol
-Holy and/or blessed items.
-Liquid Nitrogen
-Exterminatus
-Ionizing Radiation
-Ultraviolet radiation

We can cross quite a few of these off as overkill or impractical, however we could definitely use an improperly shielded nuclear reactor as a way to sterilize surfaces of most disease and contamination by virtue of irradiating them to hell and back, destroying any and all DNA they have in them.

In addition getting shit blessed would be nice.

>>39303813
Seconding, I've seen enough deadspace to know a plasma cutter is a good investment.
>>
>>39303664
It just goes ding ding ding and starts glowing when something chaotic or psykery happens. Since the warp is so malleable and erratic the MC would need all his life to understand what those lights mean, since they can glow with different patterns, intensities or colors depending what they are detecting.

>>39303750
Are you talking about proton packs like in the ghostbusters? If no then explain yourself and if it isn't very overpowered I might add it in the future.

>>39303770
Then we will run out of ammo in no time. One of the biggest advantages of the dendrites is that they can pretty much point in all the directions so a couple of flamers might become in handy to fight two enemies at once or focus the fire on one but having way too many would be a waste in my opinion.
>>
>>39303818
-Ionizing Radiation
-Ultraviolet radiation

Radiation is a two edged sword because they can make people sick and mutate lifeforms. If way too much is used the radiated zone will be unreachable and wont become clean in thousands of years, if you get short the living stuff on it will die from sickness and mutate, thus empowering nurgle.
>>
>>39303824
How about we carry a back mounted (armoured) promethium tank, or something?

>>39303813
Sure for the plasma cutter, but personally I think the explorator would be useful for it's lux caster, I mean, do we even have another light source?
>>
>>39303824
No I was indeed talking about the proton packs in ghostbusters. It just crossed my mind, that's all. I also wonder if some techpriest found the movie in some ancient NEET cave, mistakes it for a historical documentary with examples of lost technology, and becomes obsessed with 'rediscovering' it.
>>
>>39303874
Don't we see in the dark anyway? And we can use our eyes as a light source, we even blinded multiple people with it.
>>
>>39303818
Scary thought: some Nurgle-aligned dark mechanicus uses warp-infused radiation to spread Nurgle tumors. 'Nurgle's Light' it would probably be called.
>>
In lieu of fuel supplies I advocate this then:
-+-+ DENDRITE 1 - Proxy Drone: A tool that lets the user transform any undamaged, untainted and unmutated human skull into a small drone if the materials around are available. The drone can be controlled by the user or any other person if the permits are changed.
-+-+ DENDRITE 2 - Biologis advanced tool:: Cutting laser, Different optics, Vital signs analyzer.
-+-+ DENDRITE 3
> Flamer
-+-+ DENDRITE 4 - Explorator advanced tool: Lux-caster. Depth scanner, Tracker signal.
-+-+ DENDRITE 5 - Psykana advanced tool: Psyker energy reader and analyzer.
-+-+ DENDRITE 6
> Plasma cutter
-+-+ DENDRITE 7 & 8 - Claw Dendrite:
-+-+ DENDRITE 9 - Drill Dendrite:
-+-+ DENDRITE 10 - Cerebrus Advanced tool: Mental illness detector, brain scanner.
-+-+ DENDRITE 11
> Flamer
-+-+ DENDRITE 12 Lexmechanicus Advanced tool: Applied Mathematics.

Two dendrite flamers, the arm mounted flamer, a plasma cutter, a plasma gun, two claws, a drill, a hidden arm powerblade, hidden footblades and claws. We're like a fucking swiss army knife.
>>
>>39303871
Thats true for ionizing radiation, UV radiation is far weaker but wouldn't actually cause lasting radioactive damage to surfaces (UV radiation is what gives people sunburns and skin cancer, and would be a valid way of sterilizing surfaces but wouldn't kill anything that was more complex than an amoeba).
>>
>>39303904
I suppose, but when leading a group of skitarii it might be better to have more light?

I'm not even sure if the frigate is dark at the moment, but the power might be cut by the corruption.
>>
>>39303904
The lux-caster also serves as a depth scanner which can be pretty handy and probably isn't a function provided by our eye-lights
>>
>>39303904
NVG's IRL require some infrared light to work, which is why low-grade ones typically come with IR lamps as well. Dunno if 40k has the same stipulation.
>>
>>39303874
Well there will be a fuel tank of course. But all those flamers fill feed from it so if you get 10 flamers the fuel will end in no time if they are all used at the same time.

>>39303898
I don't know. If we get more involved into the Ordo Malleus and Hereticus maybe Heracor could record some cursed daemon invocation chants, revert them and turn them into sound grenades?

>A guy is invoking a daemon.
>Next to it a boombox falls, it starts saying the invocation backwards.
>The entire ritual explodes and all the cultists die.
>????
>Profit

>>39303984
Can you explain this better? I try to stay as close to "real science" as possible.
>>
>>39304009
Night Vision goggles work by perceiving radiation outside of the human visible light spectrum, typically using infrared or ultraviolet light. Infrared lamps emit infrared light, allowing night vision goggles to be used anywhere.
>>
>>39304009
>>39304084
However thermal radiation exists, and if the objects viewed are sufficiently warm, I think a bit better sensor would pick up their radiation. I think they can do that even IRL.
>>
>>39303943
I have been looking and this one seems to be a good options. Everybody agrees?

>We're like a fucking swiss army knife.
Just like every other techpriest then. Why do you think their color schemes are red and white? Swiss flag colors!
>>
>>39303971
We might be able to use the vox-caster as an echolocation tool as well; just turn up the vox frequency, emit large amounts of noise, and isolate the echos we get from our own signal. Best used in cramped corridors.
>>
>>39304145
I'm fine with those.
>>
>>39303521
As you choose what dendrites to remove and substitute you can shortly after hear the blinking sound of your new orders appearing on their pict-screens. Soon a small needle enters into your body, filling you with sweet anesthetics that bring you to a sleep devoid of dreams just as you start to feel the scalpel entering in a painless manner into your body and descending to open your chest apart and leave them free way to substitute your lungs.

There is only darkness...honestly you could even be dead, there are countless things that could go wrong and kill you during the operation. There were some tales on your forge that told about zealot techpriests that never deviated from the holy path of the Machine God and were reborn as machine spirits that powered some of the most sacred and beautiful machines in the galaxy. Honestly you doubted that was true because as some people have said you have no soul...there is something wrong with you...

You also remembered how one student became obsessed with that child story even after becoming an adult and wrote her thesis about the Emperor dying, its soul going to the past and being reborn as a machine spirit that ironically keeps him alive in a never ending cycle since every time his souls goes backs it empowers the throne and lets him be alive for maybe some hours or centuries. She was considered both a Hereticus to the Imperium, the Inquisition and the Mechanicus and she was taken off planet to a orbital prison built for her that would keep her imprisoned while the three factions debated fiercely about whom is more rightful to punish her with all the wrath of the Emperor...ironically the years passed by with the Munitorium dealing with their requirements and statements and the chance of the student dying of old age before being chastised become more and more feasible as the years pass. It's weird...you thought you had forgotten about her a long time ago.
>>
>>39304492
The darkness continues surrounding your mind. You don't know how much time it has passed and if you continue alive or dead. You are scared...is an eternal void what awaits for a soulless being like you?

It is good that you have lost the ability to cry as you lack lachrymal glands but when you are awakened from your artificial dream you find yourself will your four organic limbs trembling and sobbing softly.

There is a great vertical scar and metallic stitches crossing your naked chest now. It hurts but the workers did a good work, it seems clean and doesn't bleeds at all.

On your back there is a small cylindrical canister where the fuel will be stored, your three new weapon dendrites will feed from it.

As you stand up you raise your arm to block the bright halogen light source from your eyes. After experiencing such darkness those lux-casters seem to be specially bright now.

The first thing you do is breathing and drinking some water. The inhalation feels artificial and weird, your lungs feel rubbery and you can even notice a squeaking sound when they inflate completely. After hydrating yourself and eating some quick snack you dress up and head towards the frigate. There is a lot of work to do.

Does anybody have suggestions on the overall strategy for pouring the frigate?
>>
>>39304937
*purging
>>
>>39304937
1. Lock out the mainframe so it doesn't spread through that.
2. Make sure the vacuum tubes are sealed so the insects don't spread through that.
3. Capture and secure the engine room and a route to it so we can turn the Gellar field on on essentially win.
4. Purge everything leftover.
>>
>>39304937
Get everyone to flamer everything that looks or smells funny whilst patrolling the corridors from the entrance to the ship to the work areas whilst Heracor assembles an elite team to head in to fix the gellar field.

Thinking about it we STILL need to actually talk to someone who knows anything about them and ask them how we get it running
>>
Ok I'm back!

Working on:
>Head there right now. They have been without you for long already, you don't want them to think that their leader is a coward.

>>39305020
This seems like a good plan!
>>
>>39304655
>Head there right now. They have been without you for long already, you don't want them to think that their leader is a coward.

You stand up and thank the medic team from their good work, some of the nurses and doctors even seem somewhat flustered as they are unused to shows of respect coming from the Skitarius, specially from their leaders.

It is good that they haven't touched your legs as walking continues feeling as natural as before, in fact it even feels more swift as both arms are now made from metal and their weights aren't so disparate now. When you get the heavy armor, the robes and the weapons on yourself you feel the weight from it restraining you a little bit, it seems that your body is reaching the limits of its comfort levels when it comes to burden. Nothing than a mix of heavy training, muscular electroestimulation and steroidal injections cannot solve.

Silently and trying to attract the less attention as possible you recharged your weapons and filled the cannister with pure and recently distilled promethium. The weight restrains you even more and the sound of the liquid splashing inside is pretty distracting and noticeable. You would need to get used to it as you did many times before with each change that you performed on your body.
>>
>>39305506
As you exit the temple you check the clock. It has only been a few hours since you entered with Eugen but it feels like a lifetime. It is past midnight now so most people are asleep and you have no trouble crossing towards the frigate. After entering the door you seal it with a bloodkey.

Blood keys are a form of dead man's switch. You program it to track your heart and to do two things if it reaches clinical death. The first one is sending a message to the Inquisitor telling her that you failed her mission; the second is an automatic detachment of the frigate that would plunge it into the maws of the warp and would sacrifice all the surviving servitors and Skitarii but that would in exchange save the thousands of lives of the Cruiser.

Faust continues as stoic as before guarding the door you just sealed, there are some dark bags under his eyes, it seems that he stood up and guarding the door as you ordered all this time.

"The rest have gone to their respective areas and are already patrolling them...the third team hasn't entered the infected zone, they were waiting for their squad leader, they were waiting for you."

You look at the coverage and see that you can message them; confirming what Faust preached, they are outside of the signal dampening infection.

>Contact them by radio an ask if they have seen anything strange or odd.

Thought: I just checked the rebreather in the inventory, and it doesn't work in void areas. We may want to use other weapons than flamers, which are oxygen-heavy.
>>
>>39305521
You get into a quick trotting pace as you advance towards the furthest engine areas. The corridors are empty and cleaned of bodies on most of the times, some of them are scarred, they were burned when the team found them and considered them a biological risk to be taken care of.

At the same time you try to contact with the other teams and get a situation report but as you are running with heavy gear on, the floors are metallic like your feet and the radio signal isn't the best one, the conversation is hard to understand.

"Heracor to Faust. Are you already on your Area?"

"̵C͠orrect, ov͘e̴r.̕ ̴W̷- ͞h͝ave seţtled͡ a͢ ͡small̸ ̵ca̧mp̛ ̨an̶d gat̢h͢e҉red̴ som̨ę ̴p̴-rt̴ab͞l͏e͞ e̸l̕e͢c̵tric̷i͞t͜y͟ ̸ge͞n̕era̶tor̴i̢ųm͝s.̶ ͟Ẁe a͠re̷ ̵àl̡s͞o ̀cơun̴t-i͟ng͏ ҉all͞ ͠t͝h͡e̸ foǫd a͟nd̷ ͞ẁat͝er̸ th̛at ̵i̷t is ́s̀t͏o-͜r̡ed̀ ̀to ̧c̷a҉lculat̶e h̴o̵w̛ ͘man͟y̸ ͘da̛ys͝ ̢w͠e can şpen͡d ̡s̵ea͠l̵ed ̀i̕ns͘ide͞."͡

"Repeat, repeat!"

You could barely understand what he said. His voice was tired and dull, he seemed to be almost asleep as he read the report. Cursing softly you contacted with Eugen.

"Heracor to Eugen. Report on the Working Area?"

Luckily this time the quality of the transmission was better, maybe because the distance wasn't so big.

"́T̷he͜ c̀a̴m̧p͘ ͞i͢s͞ se̵tt̵le̡d͏ i̴n̶ the͡ C̶a̴thedra̵l̢.͝ We ̕ha͟ve ͜som̧e̴ Gen͏erat͏ors̶ wơrking ͘up ̢a͜nd̷ ̨po͠w͜er͠i̛ng ͝t̡h͘e͢ ҉nec͜e̵s̶s̡ar͏y tools. Al̕l ͠is g͏oo͝d th̢er͡e.̕ ͝O̴v̡er̶"

Your ears managed to understand most of it. It seemed that she was cheerful and happy to work under your command now.
>>
>>39306130

Shortly after you reached the entrance to the Engines and other important areas. The Skitarii were in front of a completely rusted door, what once was grey metal now looked brown and oddly greenish. There seemed to be an small infectious organism on the surface of the door that looked like three giant blisters and some veins that extended from their gaps...It was like the symbol that you saw when connecting into the net not long ago.

"We are sorry leader but we didn't knew what to do, it is obvious that the infection originates from behind this door but we considered reckless to enter without your permission."

"Besides-" Said a somewhat cocky and strong Skitarii while raising his heavy flamer and aiming at the door. "This little bug doesn't dies no matter what we do." A shower of cleansing fire poured over the door and specially into the blister covered organism; after some seconds of continuous fire he released the trigger and the objective he was aiming into was now little more than a charred husk, but seconds later it started growing again as if it were a tumor and soon it wasn't only fully healed but also bigger than before.

>Open the door and send some Servitors inside to do a quick inspection. You wont be able to see what they do or find inside but if after some seconds you hear the sound of their flamers firing at an enemy it might be a good idea to try to find another entrance.
>Cheer their spirits entering first, you have been inside before and survived, you'll do it again.

>>
>>39306361
In addition, we'll want to set up a command post in the working area. Any team securing the Gellar field may need rotations of troops and ammunition, so stationing some skitarii might prevent them from getting cut off.
>>
>>39306151
>You and two servitors to cover you enter first.

That wasn't a natural process, you weren't an expert on biologis but you knew that what happened in front of you wasn't possible.

You tried to analyze it but as you get closer and closer lenses feed started becoming worse and more glitched, the own presence of that organic symbol was covered in so much taint that it even affected and jammed your senses, both organic and bionic.

"Let's figure out how to kill the enemy before going in."

Raising your arm you aimed your chainswords flamer towards the small enemy and hailed it with a shower of promethean flames. After it was burned down you didn't waited for it to recover, you already knew what would happen if you let that happen. With a quick swing you slashed the door with the chained edges and ripped it out of the rusty surface.

The living symbol wasn't able to recover out of its environment and after a long time were it shrieked and poured some foul smelling pus it ended shrinking until it was barely visibly.

"It seems that the bio-organisms can be killed with fire but will be able to recover and even grow in size if let to feed from the rust and other taints from its surroundings. Verify that every enemy encountered is burned until it becomes charred and thrown into a burnt or non contaminated area."

After delivering your speech their morale seemed to be higher, what they believed to be an undying enemy just proved to be as mortal as everybody else. You could still look more heroic to turn them into true valiant warriors.

"I'll go with two servitors and clean the first room, after five minutes I want a team of two skitarii and two servitors to enter. If it is completely purged from taint then the rest will enter. The entire team will never...NEVER enter into an impure room."

With this said you opened the room and the rest backed up, after the trio was inside you punched the door panel and sealed yourself from the rest of the team.
>>
>>39306683
In the interior the air was foul and dirty, the dirtiness and dust floating in the air was visible even with the naked eye. It was cold, the room with the frozen and dead body of the dead techpriest was surely close, it was good, it meant that the infection was lighter in this area because of it.

As you stepped in you saw some dead bugs lying around and what seemed like wasp or beehives in some corners. There was also one automatic door that was trying to close but it couldn't because some sort of tree root was blocking it and gushing a yellowish sap like liquid every time it impacted against its soft wood. There wasn't any crying sound nearby but if Wilhelmina continued alive you could maybe try to contact her by radio.

>Investigate the root.

>The room seems safe, let the rest enter.

I have another question.

>Do you prefer when I post a picture every time I write a post like I used to do or just plain text like I do now?
>>
>>39307427
I don't really mind either way when the picture isn't anything especially relevant - such as the times you just use a filler techpriest pic.

When it's something there to convey a new enemy, or a new area, etc then it's nice to have.

Those times with the maps were great too.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't spend too much time looking for a pic to accompany an update if it isn't all that related to it.

>>39307427
