You are Laura Bodewig, super solider, Candidate Representative for Germany and pilot of the Schwarzer Regen. You have just left your husband, John Smith, at his IS hangars to perform maintenance on his IS, the Maeve. It is far too fragile for your tastes. John should use a machine that can take the rigors of war, like your Schwarzer Regen. While you have to admit, his use of the Maeve is skillful and without peer, the thoughts of you sharing the same IS does entertain you.

The light walk back to your room was made without any waste. Opening the door, you see Charlotte lounging on her bed reading over some sort of magazine. So undisciplined, if it was like when Instructor was teaching you, you would be busy with IS drills. You stare at her for a bit to display your distaste at her actions.

“Hmm? Is something he matter Laura?” Charlotte asks after she looks up from the magazine.

You just stare back without a single response.

“Oh, I know. Why don't I comb your hair?” Charlotte asks you as she gets up.

You nod and sit down on your chair. Looking at Charlotte, she is happily humming something as she gets out a hair brush.

“Now, face forward.” Charlotte tells you.

You do so and watch Charlotte gently brush your hair in the mirror. You are not sure what John sees in her, but she does have her uses. You have been thinking over making Charlotte yours. That way, the enemy will not have access to her and she will be of use to you and John. The only fact stopping you is that John and Charlotte are far too close to each other for your tastes. He should only be close to you and you alone. That is how a husband and wife are suppose to be.

“You really should take better care of your hair. It's such a pretty shade of silver.” Charlotte comments as she continues to brush your hair.

You can't let her know that you have a copy to John's room. Charlotte seems to be a light sleeper so whenever you try to go to his room at night, she wakes up and stops you. It is quite annoying.

“So who should we visit first then?” Charlotte asks.

“Visit? No, this is reconnaissance.” you answer, annoyed at such an question.

Cecilia's and Rin's rooms are the closest to yours. Houki's is further away along with Honne's room. Yuzu and Sakuya's room is the furthest away.

“First is Alcott.” you continue, formulating a plan.

You did not like how John occasionally steals glances at her breasts or ass. And she does not even try to stop him, instead opting to flirt with him and let him look more. That thieving cat.

With Charlotte watching your back, you exit your room and silently proceed to Cecilia Alcott's room. At Cecilia's door, you hear quite the ruckus behind the door. Putting you ear to the door, you hear someone making a mess and complaining to someone else. You feel the door's position slightly shift from it's original position. From the corner of your eye, Charlotte is also pressing her ear to the door. Listening closer, you can barely make out what the conversation on the other side is.

“What do you mean it won't be here in time?” someone complains.

That must be Alcott, she always seem to have something to complain about. Always monopolizing John's time or being too clingy or easily beating her in IS matches. It can be quite grating on the nerves.

“I know Chelsea.” Cecilia continues, “I wanted that specific design. Catching John's eye like last time is something I would quite love.”

So that is her plan.

“What do you mean that negligee?” Cecilia asks someone.

“And what makes you think you can take care of John?” Cecilia asks angrily while starting you down.

You glare back at Cecilia before you say, “As his wife, I know how to take care of MY husband. A thieving cat wouldn't.”

Cecilia stares even more angrily back at you. You return the stare without hesitation.

“I know. Cecilia what sort of snacks would you like to have at the sleep over?” Charlotte asks, trying to play peace maker. Even if she was the one that broke your cover.

Cecilia relaxes and stops glaring at you. She thinks on it for a minute. Taking this time Cecilia is distracted, you look past her into her room. From what little you can see, the desk is covered in various see-through panties and bras. Before you can look longer, Cecilia interrupts your intel gathering.

“I am not sure you would be able to find what I like here in Japan. But if you must know, I would prefer...” Cecilia lists off various brands and types of what you assume is sweets and confectioneries.

Charlotte listens intently before getting more and more shocked at her words. Seeing as how Cecilia will not stop listing off her preferences, you continue to look. Slightly shifting the position of your feet, you can see past Cecilia. And what you see is quite informative. The bed is covered in a large amount of underwear and lingerie. Most have very intricate designs and lace while some are provide no ability to cover anything. To call it undergarments would be a poor description as those on the bed do not cover up anything. Being nude would be less shameful than what you see displayed on the bed.

With the door closed, Charlotte lets out a sigh of relief.

If Cecilia was able to catch you, you will have to switch up your plan. Moving onto Rin might be risky as she could have heard the commotion. Spying on a further away room might be necessary to avoid questioning eyes.

With Cecilia's outburst, spying on Rin's room would be difficult with people curious about the earlier noise. Houki's room should be far enough away that no one will be on guard.

Walking down the hallway, you reach Houki's room. From what you gathered earlier, this use to be John's old room. Annoying. Why should he sleep in the same room with another girl that is not me, his wife? While it happened before you arrived here at the academy, it is still unacceptable. You do not understand why Instructor doesn't allow you and John to share his room together. It's normal for a husband and wife to share a bed.

Before you get into position to listen through the door, Charlotte knocks on the door. Why did she do that? This is a recon mission, not visiting.

“Laura, it's too late. If we told Cecilia we are asking about what sort of snacks to bring tonight. What would happen if she asked someone else and answer we didn't ask them? It would only cause problems.” Charlotte tells you after knocking on the door.

Annoyed, you just stare at Charlotte. She may be right, but you still have to follow the plan.

The door opens to reveal Houki wearing some casual clothes.

“Yes?” Houki asks after she opens the door.

“Laura and I are wondering what sort of snacks and drinks we should bring tonight. I thought it would be good to hear everyone's opinion on it.” Charlotte explains.

A quick glance inside Houki's room reveals nothing out of the ordinary. A couple of DVD cases and magazines are spread across the desks. Nothing that could be considered questionable.

“Oh, why not some pocky?” Houki asks.

“That sounds good.” Charlotte responds happily.

“Umu. There was a game I want to try with John that needs pocky.” Houki adds with a touch of blush on her cheeks.

“And what sort of game is that?” you ask, slightly annoyed.

“Just one I read about in a magazine. One that will bring a couple closer together.” Houki answers, still with a blush.

“And what makes you think John would play such a game? He is my husband.” you retort.

“Hmph. John took me out as his girlfriend, just the two of us. Can you claim the same?” Houki counters.

“Oh I know, why don't we all go together then? We can ask Cecilia and Rin to join us. I want to ask about the different sort of snacks they have at the store.” Charlotte asks, breaking up your conversation.

“That sounds fun. Let me get my wallet before we get the others.” Houki answers in agreement, moving away from the door to get her purse.

Why did Charlotte do that? Not only will be harder to gather intel on the others if they are watching you but she stops you whenever you are asserting your place as John's wife. Is she doing this on purpose? Either way, the bigger problem is if you don't follow the others. They will be suspicious and may change their plans or plant false evidence. Quite the conundrum you have.

“Ok, I'm ready.” Houki tells you before she closes the door.

Now with Houki joining you, you head back the way you came. You arrive back at Cecilia's door. Charlotte knocks on the door.

Through the door, you hear Cecilia yell, “One moment please.”

A moment later, Cecilia opens her door.

“Can I help you?” Cecilia asks, now wearing a robe.

“Were going to the school store to pick up things for tonight. Why not join us?” Charlotte asks.

“I'm sorry but I have other things I need to do.” Cecilia answers. “I already have a wonderful set of chocolates to share with John.” Cecilia adds confidently.

“And you are not busy because you are picking some sort of inappropriate underwear to wear?” you ask, noting that earlier Cecilia was wearing her uniform.

“What? Of course not.” Cecilia answers with a nervous laugh.

“We'll see you tonight then.” Houki replies with a subtle touch of suspicion in her voice.

Moving on, you arrive at Rin's door. Charlotte knocks on the door again.

“Coming” you hear a voice through the door.

Rin opens the door, only wearing a short pair of denim shorts and a loose tank top.

“Something come up?” Rin asks casually.

Much like Houki's room, there isn't much you can gather from just the door. Just how well is she hiding her plans?

“We're going to the store to pick up snacks for tonight. I thought it would be fun if you joined us.” Charlotte explains.

“What makes you think I'll be going with you tonight?” Rin asks.

“Then don't.” you reply flatly.

For some reason that seems to have annoyed Rin.

“You know what? I'll come along. Just to annoy you.” Rin replies with a rather smug grin.

“Really? That sounded like you wanted an excuse to join us.” Houki notes.

“Who said I needed an excuse.” Rin shoots back with force in her voice.

Rin quickly grabs her wallet and some sandals before closing her door. Now your group grows with another addition. Walking together, you stop by Honne room to find no answer. And once again no answer at Sakuya and Yuzu's room. Deciding together that they must be out, the four of you begin to head to the store. If the three of them are too distracted with shopping, you may be able to slip away.

It's too late to slip away now. Charlotte and Houki may not notice your disappearance at first, but Rin would. Annoyingly enough, you will have to stay with the group. After leaving the dorms, the four of you walk to the school store.

Inside, it has everything you would need without leaving the island. Quite a convenient thing to have so close by. The four of you walk the isles picking up various snacks and drinks to bring. Charlotte is mostly asking Houki and Rin about the items they have here. Apparently the school store has a lot of items that would not normally be easily available in Japan. Must be because of the large amount of international students enrolled here. You quietly follow the three of them bored. You should be shopping with John, like a married couple should be.

“Laura, would you prefer strawberry or chocolate?” Charlotte asks you while she is looking over the different types of pocky.

“Strawberry.” you answer, a bit too meekly you realize.

“A good choice but chocolate is the traditionally preferred one.” Houki adds.

“Chocolate gets boring if you only eat that. We should get a whole bunch.” Rin replies as she grabs several types of pocky and drops them into the hand basket.

“I'm not sure if soy bean is a good one.” Charlotte comments.

“What? Oh woops, I'll just put that back.” Rin replies as she takes out the soy bean and other odd flavored ones from the basket and places them back onto the shelf.

This time, Rin picks out the better flavors when she places them into the basket. After going through several isles, the four of you have quite a lot of sweets, snacks and various drinks for tonight. Paying takes a while simply because of the large amount of items you have. Leaving the store, you see the sun is beginning to set.

“We better head back.” Houki comments.

“Yeah, it would be nice to change into something more comfortable.” Charlotte adds.

On the way back to the dorms, a low but loud rumbling is heard across the campus before it quickly fades away into the distance.

“What was that?” Houki asks.

“No idea, but it sounded familiar.” Rin comments with a look of almost being able to name it.

“Sounded like a low altitude approach by a turboprop.” you add flatly.

“Right, that's what it is. That's why it sounded familiar.” Rin responds, now remembering.

“I hope the plane didn't have any problems.” Charlotte replies, concern in her voice.

“Strange though. There isn't an airport around here.” Houki adds, only adding more confusion among you all.

Now back in the dorm, you all head back to your respective rooms. You notice that John has not returned to your room. He is taking too long with the maintenance, he should be done by now.

“He isn't here.” you comment, annoyed.

“We were out shopping. He is probably back at his room.” Charlotte explains, sitting down on her bed.

“Then we should go to his room immediately.” you tell her, not wanting to wait any longer.

“We should at least get ready first. Take a shower and change before we head to John's room. He probably needs to take a shower also.” Charlotte replies.

“Not like that matters. We have already seen him come out of the shower.” you respond flatly.

Charlotte slightly blushes at that memory.

“So we should wait then.” Charlotte says, standing her ground.

You don't like that response. You can either stay and get ready with Charlotte or you can leave for his room and take a shower in John's room.

If John is already at his room, there is no need to wait.

“You can use the shower first.” you tell Charlotte.

“Thanks.” Charlotte tells you as she gets up from her bed.

You wait patiently as Charlotte gets a towel and heads into the shower. You continue to wait until you hear the water running. Now that she is occupied, you grab your change of clothes and quietly leave your room. You quickly go up the flights of stairs to reach John's room.

You try and open the door, only to find it locked. Odd, you use your spare key and unlock the door. Inside you find that he has not yet returned. This seems to annoy you even more, just where is he? Irregardless, you close the door behind you and undress. Throwing your clothes onto the desk, you get into the bathroom and run the shower until it's warm enough. You climb into the shower and it feels like you can finally relax. This is how it should be, a married couple sharing the same shower and room.

Leaving the shower and comfortably relaxed, you change into the black hoodie you got from John. Now you just have to wait for his return. Remembering what Clarissa told you after you informed her of your position as wife. She told you, the correct words for when John returns were: Do you want dinner, a bath or me? Food preparation is a bit hard and there is no bath, only a shower. You decide to make tea instead. You quickly find the kettle and tea, along with the his and hers cup set you bought together with John and Charlotte. You quietly wait until the water boils so you turn down the heat and wait. Soon enough you hear the door open.

Happily, you go to the door and greet him, “John, you're here.” As you try and say the words Clarissa told you, they catch in your mouth and cause your face to turn red, “Do, do you want tea, a bath or m-me?”

Before you realize it, Charlotte hugs you saying, “I 'll take you.”

What? Why is it Charlotte and not John. You were waiting here patiently like a wife should. Why did he not come. You aren't angry, just disappointed. While Charlotte hugging you doesn't feel bad, it still doesn't save you from your disappointment.

“Laura, why did you sneak out like that? You shouldn't bother John all the time.” Charlotte chides you while hugging you.

“He isn't here.” you reply, disappointment obvious in your voice.

Charlotte stops hugging you and looks around the room.

“You are right. He sure is late. He normally doesn't make a girl wait.” Charlotte responds to the lack of John's presence. “But don't worry, I'll keep you company until he arrives.” Charlotte consoles you.

Charlotte takes you and places you onto John's bed. After she places the grocery bags onto the desk, she pours some tea into your cup and hands it to you.

“I'm sure John has a very good reason why he is late.” Charlotte continues to console you.

You don't respond. You are far too disappointed to. Charlotte then sits next to you and places her arm around you. You lethargic drink some tea and wait. The next person joint he two of you is Houki.

“You two are early.” Houki comments after Charlotte opens the door for her.

“Laura gets really excited about these things.” Charlotte tells her.

“John seems to be running late. Last time he was here before all of us.” Houki replies as she places her groceries from earlier on the desk.

You continue to sip on your tea, slowly feeling better about the situation. Soon after Houki's entrance, Rin joins the three of you waiting in John's room.

“Ah, it must be nice to have a room all to yourself.” Rin tells you all before she places her bags on the desk.

“It would be lonely though.” Houki replies from her seat at the desk.

“That is why I should share a room with him. That way we wouldn't be lonely.” you tell Houki.

“Still, it would be nice and quiet. And no one is bothered when you make noise. And you can sleep in all you want.” Rin replies as she grabs a snack from her bag and plops down onto the spare bed.

“It must be something very important as it is already dark.” Houki adds, looking out to the dark sky.

Not long after, Cecilia, Honne, Yuzu and Sakuya arrive. Cecilia is wearing a different colored robe this time while carrying a box of chocolates. Yuzu, Sakuya are wearing typical nightwear while Honne is wearing her yellow animal pajamas.

“Ara? John isn't here yet?” Cecilia comments, looking over the room.

“He isn't here yet? Maybe that means we can watch him come out of the shower this time.” Yuzu muses, mischievousness in her voice.

“It's a shame we didn't get to see last time.” Sakuya adds.

“It was quite the sight.” Cecilia explains happily, cupping her cheek with one hand.

That slightly annoys you. John is not some creature on display, he is your husband and such intimacies should only be shared between the two of you.

“Didn't John say he had to IS maintenance today?” Honne asks, already picking at the snacks.

“He did, but what would take him so long?” Charlotte replies, a slight touch of worry in her voice.

Not feeling particularly hungry, you just watch everyone else start partying. Houki has already taken a bunch of samurai DVDs out of her bad and begins to pick one with Yuzu and Sakuya. Cecilia is showing off her box of chocolates she brought to Honne, Rin and Charlotte. Cecilia explains just how much they cost and how they are a specialty item from the Netherlands.

“Let's watch a movie first.” Yuzu tells everyone.

“How about The Hidden Fortress or Yojimbo?” Houki asks, holding up the two DVD cases.

“Why not something John has?” Sakuya asks, “I'm not sure another samurai movie would be good right now.”

“There is always time for samurai movies.” Houki answers with vigor.

“I was hoping something John has. I'm sure he has some movies from America here.” Sakuya replies.

“Well, he does have that external hard drive with movies.” Houki mentions, a bit dejected that her movies weren't chosen.

“He still isn't here.” you interject, concern starting to color your voice.

“Why don't we call him. He should have his phone on him.” Charlotte adds.

“You know. While John isn't here, why do we look around. Find any dirty magazines he is hiding under his bed.” Rin tells everyone, excited at the prospects of hidden finds.

Everyone looks and each other and nods in agreement. While all other girls are starting to snoop through John's room, you get your phone and call John.

Waiting through the ring tone, you finally hear something, “This phone is currently unavailable. Please leave a message after the tone.”

“Where are you? I'm waiting for you and you are late. Hurry up and come here.” you tell the answering machine, annoyed at the turn of events.

“Damn, no dirty mags under the bed.” Rin announces to everyone.

“Found one his externals thought.” Sakuya replies, holding up her find.

“Here's another one.” Yuzu adds with her find.

Ignoring them, you send a text message to John. No response after a minute.

“He isn't picking up his phone.” you say to yourself.

This is starting to worry you. You know he was attacked by terrorists before, perhaps they attacked again? But there was no announcements about any attacks today.

“This is getting strange.” Houki replies, now with concern in her voice.

“Yes, he is far too late. Not even a fashionably late entrance is this late.” Cecilia notes.

“I'll text Edith and Walken then.” Charlotte tells you before she goes to her phone.

“I'm sure nothing happened to him. You are all just worrying about nothing.” Rin comments, while she is rummaging through John's nightstand.

“Yeah. IS maintenance doesn't usually go this late in the night.” Honne adds.

“This is odd. Walken said he had to visit his family for an emergency while Edith said he left mid afternoon.” Charlotte announces, while reading the texts from her phone.

Your first response is to gather more information. You call Clarissa, your unit in Germany.

“Clarissa. We have a problem here.” you say over the phone once it goes through.

“What is the problem Captain?” Clarissa replies in German, something you have been sorely missing here.

“It's my husband. He is missing.” you report in German.

“Ah yes, John Smith. We haven't been able to find anything new. Just that he has his background information hidden by American Intelligence. What can I do for you here?” Clarissa asks.

“I want any information you can get on flight data this afternoon. My instincts are telling me the turboprops I heard today are related to him.” you clearly tell her.

“One moment Captain.” Clarissa replies.

You can hear Clarissa commanding your unit, Schwarzer Hare. After a flurry of reports and orders, Clarissa finally has an answer.

“Today, there was only one unusual flight pattern near Academy Island. A C-130 from the Private Military Company, Diamond Dogs, radioed they had engine problems and had to divert extremely close to the island. They subsequently lost altitude but eventually recovered. “Did you find anything?” Charlotte asks you.

Everyone is looking at you for answers.

“Diamond Dogs may be the ones responsible for it.” you answer everyone.

The same Diamond Dogs that has is displayed on the hoodie you are wearing.

And this is where the camera pans up as everyone screams, "EHHHHHHHHH"

Next time, you'll have to corroborate reports and potentially find a way to infiltrate a heavily armed PMC's base to rescue the love of your life.
