Isshin looks you over, quickly figuring out the reason for your change of attire. “Sure.”

I think you guys are expecting this quest to last way too long. But King time skips a lot and says he wants it to be shorter than Shadows of Zeon. we're probably halfway done to be totally honest.

We should probably focus on getting a handle on our new abilities rather than trying to beef up no-names who are going to get slaughtered in any major event.

Anyway. Modernizing the squad is all well and good but it feels like that's a time skip thing. Where boosting our own abilities is an active play thing. That's all I'm saying.

We shouldn't pattern ourselves after real world conventional armies. The duties of the Gotei 13 aren't usually like that, there are no front lines, the enemy teleports in and out, and the aim is to clear them out before they attack civilian targets.

We have a relatively small force which is required to defend fairly large areas. We can't afford to have a 50 shinigami dealing with each hollow. Small squads may be possible though. If we want to improve the amount of military power we can bring to bear on hollows, the most important thing would be somehow improving mobility, so we can quickly concentrate forces to respond to threats. Better organisation and communications would also help with this, and fortunately developments in the living world will provide a lot of technology to help this along.

We should also definitely consider new weaponry. With all the new military technology about to be unleashed especially in the world wars, I'm sure there are some ideas we'll be able to use. I'd like to think that Riku is foward thinking enough to consider that modern soul management might involve a little more than hitting monsters with a sharp stick until they go away. That's fine if you're powerful, but for low level shinigami armaments could be very helpful.

Less real armies, more about highly trained small unit tactics.

A lot of Shinigami also have a hard strength cap. The series you mostly see people of Lt. strength or above. There are thousands of scrubs, or tens of thousands of them.

This would be a good time skip thing, because spending too much time on it would be boring and drive people away.

Something I'd like to bring up, what about Shūhei Hisagi? He in canon joins the 13 court/Squad 9 in order to find Kensei after he saved him as a child. My question is will he still end up joining Squad 9 even thought he'll never become Lieutenant over Rangiku in all likelihood looking for answers to Kensei's disappearance/exile, and when/if he does Riku tell him what she knows/what REALLY happened to him? At the very lease he's pretty strong and near Captain level when using Shikai in most cases

Yeah, what I gather is that Gin started to work with Aizen because he did not trust him this time, unlike before where it was wanting revenge.

Smart kid. After the incident now he wants Aizen dead for harming his family.

Also there is another difference. Before Gin almost hated shinigami because Aizens groupies were shinigami who did that.

Now Gin's role model is hard working, hard charging Riku.

Rangiku never got drained so may have a higher cap. Her role model before may of been Isshin, who was her captain for a long time. Now it may be Riku, who always seems to be moving. Along with hopefully having a higher cap to reach towards.

This arc has probably utterly destroyed canon too, just to see how many others get twisted in the mean time.

Hope king gets us that pastebin update. It's a small thing but I enjoy them.
