You run towards Akira, the masked maid, and you aim for the back of her her head with your bat, aiming to knock her out. However, without flinching and without even looking, she ducked out of the way, much to your surprise.

"Third Law Protocols activated." she then announced, and turned towards you, putting herself into a martial stance.

"Calculating best method to eliminate threat."

"Calculation complete. Hack commencing."

Suddenly, you could feel yourself loosing contact with reality. You saw the runes for your blast spell and you started to go in deeper into the place your mind went when

Diving.

Like when you performed spell retrievals. She was forcing that state into you - you could see a very short glimpse of her within your inner, infinite book - The Nightmare, pulling you further into it.

Then you snapped out, as you felt Kanna tug on you, away from Akira, who was still in that stance.

"C'mon, it's not time for that!" she yelled.

"H-hacking failed." she announced, apparently... Sad.

"Searching for options that don't involve harming another robot." she added. "Search returned zero results."

She shook her head ever so slightly. "I-it must be an error. Performing search again."

"I think she doesn't actually want to kill you." Kanna pointed out.

Then, Akira straightened up. "Solution found. Eliminate Kanna Hashimoto."

"Access Denied. Input restricted to Mr. Oshiro" she replies, as she dashes towards the smaller girl. You aim your aching hand at her, and you focus on the rune, but as you do, you see Akira in a goalkeeper-like stance instead, as if she was trying to block you from doing it.

Then, you return to your vision of real life, seeing real Akira in that same goalkeeper stance.

"Please do not interfere" she says.

"Kanna." you say. "Run. RUN."

"Run WHERE?" she says. "Further in here, there are wolves. The principal is outside. RUN. WHERE?"

You ALL miss your attacks, and spend too much effort in playing it defensively for the next few attacks. Akira evades skillfully, and you manage to put yourself between them to effectively protect Kanna - Akira won't attack you.

From her fighting style you notice that he isnt relying on sight at all, managing to evade and attack without needing to visually focus on her targets.

Then, right then, the Principal's voice boomed in.

"AKIRA, INPUT: RETURN."

You do all you can to slow her down, but she's simply much too faster than you to really make a difference. You're in armor and a shield and wearing a backpack - she is just in a maid suit and a mask, so she sidestepped herself out of your way, and managed to reach the door and outside in a fleeing manner.

You follow her outside, reaching the principal and Mary.

"He... Has aten another one" Mary tells you, quite fatigued.

"No. He seems to have my powers, and he's building up in strength - I think he has been doing it ever since he was upstairs. Before he could hardly walk. But look at him now." she answers.

Akira thrusted the cord back into the Principal's nape, and immediately after, he burst out steam, and became normal again, as if the performed an instant digestion.

"...Also, he can't use his power consciously. Just like me." Mary continued. "Unless he has that thing."

You nod and immediately aim for a vital point - his stomach, and prepared to blast.

As you mentally drew out the rune, you saw Akira in there too again, in your inner mental world, but this time, she remained still. She could've stopped you, but chose to not do anything. For some reason.

He evaded the blast with a ample margin, and then went on the offensive against you, charging in and preparing for a strike.

But then, you felt a push - a mental nudge in a direction. It was Akira.

And then you realized it. Your knowledge of Magic told you the answer. Akira was in the Nightmare - that horrible infinite well of all knowledge, from where you drew spells, and outside of it at the same time.

She was sleepwalking.

That was why she was so perceptive - she couldve used the knowledge in the Nightmare to predict and percieve superhumanly, by observing her own surroundings.
