>In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only... GOVERNMENT!
>You are John Erlwise Shabti, an imperial noble who was granted governorship over the planet Valencia. From your capital city in Valencia Prime, you over see the development of your planet and the growth of its power.
>In the last thread, the Fungal Wars took a turn for the better as Deathwatch Marines arrived to destroy the center of the zombie fungi's intelligence: a super cluster of infected Eldar all sharing their psionic energy with an infected Warlock
>The zombies have now reverted to their base state, and while the Deathwatch remain to hunt down any remaining infected Eldar, the fungi threat has been effectively de-clawed.
>Link to last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/40117768/
You sit with your war council, drinking the finest amasec you could find. The planet has been saved from its worst disaster yet. While some, notably Frederick, commander of your forces in the war, say it is a little too early to celebrate, the majority of the council don't seem to pay them heed, including yourself. And that is when someone makes the suggestion. There should be a victory celebration. Heroes of the war can be rewarded and the civilian populace can rejoice. It would certainly do a lot to restore morale and get things back to relatively normal.
>What do we say to the suggestion?
>(I wanna apologize for doing this one day later than I said I would. I was helping my friends make Dark Heresy characters for a campaign I'm running and was caught up doing that. On the bright side, the campaign is going to take place on Valencia thanks to you guys)
>>
>>40203887
Let's take the suggestion and make it an annual holiday celebrating the Emperor and the defeat of the fungus.
>>
>>40203887
Fund it!
>>
>>40204103
yes let's do that it will create a filling of pride in the populous
>>
>>40203887
>>What do we say to the suggestion?
Lets do it, cycle out 2/3s of the vet troops for new ones and have those do a military parade/supershow and other general festivities with the populace. Also I motion to make it a holiday.
>>
>>40204103

This. Also make sure that veterans of the conflict are venerated in society; give them free prosthetics and medical care for life. Also give them land anywhere on the continent to farm if they want it
>>
>>40204103
>>40204131
>>40204164
>>40204199
>>40204386
You agree with the idea, over Frederick's objections. After some convincing, even he agrees to it, though only for morale purposes. In his mind, the war is not quite over yet.
Next comes one of the biggest parts of the celebration: rewards. Everyone is going to be expecting you to hand out rewards. But whom should receive them and what kind of rewards should we give? After all, rewards for the military is very much a political affair, and you risk offending people if you give out the wrong rewards.
>Who are we giving rewards to and what kind of rewards are they receiving?
>>
>>40204412
Survivors of great battles people that did a great deed. You know people that were important and impressive
>>
>>40204412
something practical for the Krieger, like having the mechanics make superior body armor for a regement or two.
greater support for the mechanics or give them the STC or something not sure
for the local PDF a great monument to the fallen with the names of those that dies against the menace and maybe work on creating more armored units for them?
no idea what to give the deathwatch/ Inquisition
>>
>>40204538
>Alright, I worded it kinda wrong, but this is like military rewards I.E. Medal of Valor, Blue Ribbon, etc. That kind of thing
>>
>>40204412
>>40204538

We probably want to check with the inquisitor for the deathwatch/Inquisition. On the one hand, Space Marines are all about the glory and honor of battle. They would love a triumph and a big monument/statue. On the other hand, the Inquisition loves secrecy and may want to keep their role in affairs on the down low. It's probably best to check with those parties first so we don't offend anyone by mistake.
>>
>>40204601
Ah, okay. Well is there something like the "order of the Emperor" or something we can give out? We definitely want to create a couple of big name heroes. People who saved their squads, held a key defensive position, etc. If nothing else it will be sure to boost recruitment, and there are many other positives.
>>
>>40204412
We should create a medal for this campaign, and award it to all veterans from the war. Statues should be erected at the sites of the greatest fighting. Regimental standards should be decorated. All Krieg forces should receive carapace armor and hand flamers.
>>
>>40204601
Shouldn't we be rewarding the mechanicus somehow as well? They did create the fungicide and helped fund the war effort by extracting the coolant at an increased rate.
>>
>>40204601
One medal for everyone who participated, another for anyone who did anything particularly important.
>>
While this celebration is all well and good, aren't we forgetting something? What about the psyker (who claimed to be from the inquisition) who was heading towards the north pole? We don't know if he's still in the field, if he's back on the planet, or what's going on. At the very least we need to let our friendly neighborhood Inquisitor know about this ASAP and hopefully get the psyker questioned by the Librarian.
>>
>>40204765
I'm trying to think on a proper reward for the cogs. Maybe fund a temple on a notable area of the war or something.
>>
>>40204792
>So, most of you guys seem down with making a special medal for heroes. Anyone wanna think of something specific? Heroes could include the Deathwatch, Frederick, the Krieg commander who let the training mission on the moon that discovered the infected Eldar, or any others you guys can think of
>>
>>40204908
Maybe we could come up with a special medal for those who died in service to the Emperor. We could award it to those who died heroically (as is the lot of the typical guardsman) as well as the one Space Marine who died.
>>
>>40204908
I'm gonna be lazy and crib one from real life. The Order of Victory, to be bestowed on Frederick and the Mechanicus battlefield commander.
>>
>>40204983
We'd have to award that one to everyone. Dying bravely in His service, while essential, is very common. Maybe regimental honors would be better.
>>
>>40205058
Regimental honors and specific awards/promotions to particularly valorous soldiers and well connected members of the PDF is a solid move.

Units that performed very well perhaps given higher status over other regiments, priority on refitting and training etc
>>
I think this war is a good opportunity to see what would be the best upgrade for our forces. What would be best if we were going to fight these things again?
>>
>>40205145
I agree, we should, for example, give special honors to the veteran units that deployed with Deathwatch, over fresh units that may have stayed in the rear.
>>
>>40205178

I totally agree with this. We should start equipping our standard infantry with carapace armor and the STC upgraded pattern lasguns. We can also start equipping them with an abundance of plasma weapons, with our special coolant, if possible. Do we have the technical expertise to upgrade our tanks with plasma cannons and the like? If we do, we should upgrade them post haste.

On a related note, when it's time to give our tithe to the Imperial Guard the regiment from our planet will be awesome. Trained by Krieg, veterans of fights against spores and orks, and equipped by some of the best (mass-produced) weapons and armor in the Imperium.
>>
>>40205178

On the other hand, what if we end up fighting something completely different? Keeping a formation of specialists would probably be better.

>>40205197

Big monument and parade as well, can't go wrong there.
>>
>>40204908
A monument, like the Vietnam memorial where every name of the fallen is written down
>>
>>40205178
Flames would probably be best, but I don't think we have any (known) domestic promethium supplies. We're probably better off using home built weapons and armor until our colony (and trade routes) are more firmly established.
>>
>>40204908
>>40205178
On this note, can we see the After Action Reports (or 40k similar) to see what would be good?

You order that a medal be given to all regiments that participated in major ways in the campaign. The front line fighters that stuck it in against the zombie menace and did not blink. You further order for a reward given to squads wiped out in the conflict post humorously, a medal given to squads or individuals that displayed heroics, such as the moon training Krieg commander and the regiment of PDF he commanded, and finally, an Order of Victory given to Frederick and the Mechanicus battlefield commander. Furthermore, you aim to use the day of victory to promote further equipping the troops with more advanced gear, boosting funding into the military and giving money to the mechanicus to begin producing the shot-las they learned how to use from the STC we received.
After a few days, the celebration is upon you. You stand from the balcony of your Palace, watching as the soldiers parade down the street, ticker tape everywhere in the air. You move down to a stage set up in front of the palace to begin awarding medals and giving your speech
>1d100 for how well we give our speech. Also, you may recommend some specifics or even write down the entire speech in your roll.
>>
>>40205370
Well, the enemy was able to suborn our forces up close, so more Chimeras might suit instead of flamers.
>>
For the Krieg, give out little mini travel sized tubes of the blue lube for guns and stuff, and some nice lasguns, grenades, and a few tanks to units who performed particularly well but not to individuals.

For our PDF, give rotated leave, and a small combat pay bonus, with one or 2 semi public promotions handed out by us personally.

No monuments or statues... yet, wait for the campaign to be fully over before we even consider such wasteful expenditures.

Residents of Valencia, Citizens of the Imperium, today I bring you news of a most glorious victory for the Emperor. For many months now we have been tried and tested. The enemies of Mankind have swarmed around us and sought to break us. But against the iron defense of our brave PDF, our esteemed allies from Krieg, we have prevailed. While these brave soldiers heroically held the line against the enemies who sought to destroy Valencia, the Mechanicus worked tirelessly to create a secret weapon, an anti-fungal agent, that enabled us to disable the spore leadership (continuing next post).

After many trials and months of hardship, the Emperor delivered us from the grips of our most foul and despicable enemy. His Angels of Death, the most glorious space marines of Deathwatch, together with the incalculable intelligence, loyalty, and piety of Agents of The Emperor's most Holy Inquisition enabled us to strike a crippling blow at a key moment. They broke through the defenses of the vile enemy and heroically delivered the anti-spore agent, crippling the enemy forces. As of this moment, the leadership of the foul xenos has been destroyed. While conflict still looms ahead of us, the threat to Valencia is over.

Yet many have given the full measure of their devotion to the Emperor in this struggle. Everyone, from the brave fresh-faced recruit ready to do his duty, to the incalculable heroism of the departed Space Marine, who has done his duty, and has perished, is with the Emperor now. We honor their sacrifice, for it is through their deaths and effort that we have emerged triumphant.

"Greetings to you all.

Tonight Imperial forces on Valencia have succeeded in repelling the xeno horde that threatened His world. Though we have lost many, our fighting men have shown themselves brave men. The Emperor will surely commend all who fought today. May all our sons show such valor on a distant battlefield.

I will bestow (rank) Frederick (last name) and (battlefield Mechanicus commander) with the Valencian Order of Victory. These medals are to represent excellence of strategy and command, as shown through the trials of war.

Do not fear now the darkness of the galaxy, for brave men will always be there to oppose it."

Afterwards, you ask a few of your aids why the mechanicus were murmuring. Evidentally, they were upset you didn't mention the Skitarii's aid at all, putting all of their glory on the biologis developing the poison. Still, the rest of it went well. As you go on through the celebration, you heard word that, apparently, a sense of manifest destiney has seized some of your populace and there is a desire to expand to another city. However, you may decide their are other issues to attend to first. And with morale high, things will be accomplished much faster.

Let's focus on the fungi. We know how dangerous they can be, even without their eldar leadership. Let's take Frederick's advice on this one.

You decide to set Frederick right back to work clearing out the fungi, this time using the regiments that saw less combat to get some fresh and inspired faces in there (This was recommend before so I'm using it here). Meanwhile, you decide that a new city should be established. But where? You have two cities in the southern continent, another would add to mining. You have one in the northern continent, but that one is still in recovery after it was sieged early in the Fungal Wars. And you could always build a city on the pole. The cold, lifeless pole.
>Where should we build our next city? Also, we've only ever named our capital, so we should probably name our other cities.

With their leadership gone, the zombies are easy pickings to the guard and Deathwatch marines. Really, the assignment is almost boring, with the Marines getting the only hard assignment in battling infected Eldar. The regular zombies merely shamble along before being blasted to pieces under las fire, or burned from flamer gouts. While it will take many months to fully cleanse the moon, it does not look like war will escalate with the zombies every again to the degree it was.
It is next month and you receive some startling news. Apparently the explorators sent out to find a suitable place for the next city have found an abandoned hive city nestled amongst the mountains. Indeed, from afar it appeared to be a mountain, its form blasted from years of sand on the wind, making it appear brown. The city's architecture reveals its age as being from around or shortly after the Horus Heresy, with no signs of Ork looting, despite their presence on the planet. These have all been observations attained from great distance to the city and no one has attempted to approach it yet.

You order for search teams to be sent in order to scout out the city, hoping to find some valuables or possibly if the location is still habitable. As the search teams approach, however, they are fired upon from the walls of the city, ancient heavy bolter turrets some how still in operation. As the search team falls back, servitors can be seen moving up to the turrets and beginning to load them with more ammunition. Unlike the turrets, this servitors appear to be of relatively newer make and model.
>Looks like we'll need to get past those turrets to enter the city. Suggestions? What do we make of the servitors?
>>
>>40207669

Untouched by Orkz? Hmm. Either the Greenskins didn't notice it, or something kept them off. Keep eyes peeled for any possible orky warning signs (such as big banners with "Zogoff, metal boyz inside!" written on them).

Also, seek out potential colonists for the city and offer choice parcels of land to those who are willing to help with the costs or labor of exploration/decontamination. Imply strongly to the populace that this may be a test from the Emperor, and that we should not allow greed to overtake foresight.

Also, for the love of the Golden Throne, get a priest out to bless the place. Both in the name of the Machine-God and the God-Emperor. Have them bless different parts of the city so they don't step on each others toes. It never hurts to do that in front of the cameras, and if there is anything nasty of the chaos-flavor, it'll eat the priests instead of the poor troops.

If they're newer-model servitors, then somebody's setup a blacksite on our little world. That either means Inquisition, some other secretive faction, or the AdMech. Check all the land holdings that the Administratum has listed for that area, going back to the planet's founding if possible. Do this while someone liaisons with the AdMech. Try to make sure you have a deed in your hand that says WE own the city, and that it was never ceded to the AdMech since they are technically a state-within-a-state.

If it's an Inquisition thing, all the paperwork in the world won't save us, so just act very wounded that the Inquisitor didn't mention that we should avoid that part of the planet. We're good citizens of the Emperor, just trying to make sure that none of the Emperor's lives are wasted because of a miscommunication about what things are best left alone.
>>
>>40207894
Thirding this. If it is a city with automated production capabilities (for servitors) than it's priceless as far as Ad-Mec is concerned.

...It's from the period of the Horus Heresy, could there be the remains of heretic mechanicus? Should we call in the Eccleiasarchy? We don't want to seem at all heretical, especially with an Inquisitor on the planet.

You march your way down to Helena's office, her being the Mechanicus representative in Valencia Prime. You're furious as you approach, asking Helena what the hell the mechanicus is doing in the heresy era Hive City, why they were shooting at your scouts, and more importantly, why they never told you. Helena blinks her ocular augmentation and eye a few times before saying, "There's a heresy era Hive City on the planet? We have no record of that." She says, running a scan on her personal cogitator. She examines the picts you brought along. "Hmm... these aren't our servitors, not exactly. To the untrained eye they would appear so, but they have slight variations and... wait a minute." She stares at the pict, her eyes going wide. "Are... are they feeding auto cannon rounds into a heavy bolter turret? That's... that's HERESY!" She says, standing up so quickly she knocks over her chair. "Governor, I don't know who is in there, but they must pay for this affront to the machine god at once! You're welcome to help us, but I'm putting in a request for the Skitarii to mobilize at once!"

2. Ancient hive city dating back to before the Emperor was on the Throne.

3. Feral Orks present, possibly the result of a long past waaagh.

4. A Necron space hulk emerged here.

5. Alien spores, possibly sentient, possibly a biological weapon, are present on the moon.

Just what the fuck happened here? I don't care how we get it, I don't care how much it costs or if we go into debt, we need some serious scanning tech here NOW. Even from what we already know, the place is probably lousy with archo-tech, artifacts, or the like.

As to the prompt, I second sending in the veterans. I would suggest more than one veteran regiment even. A hive city is huge, and I don't think one regiment is nearly enough to secure it. Send the less heavily armed of our two ships over the city in geostationary orbit and see if we can get some scans and intelligence on it. Something this old is dangerous. We should also alert the ecclesiarchy to be alert for signs of more than "merely" tech-heresy...
>>
>>40208133

Oh boy. Mechanicus heresy? This is a case of two high-powered forces with really good weapons and technology duking it out. Our guys will be outmatched without support.

Get Helena to open up the "special stocks", and put out a request for a volunteer force of veterans. The AdMech has to have plenty of extra firepower their boys can't hold, and we can make a strong case that our men need it to stand up in this fight. Better armor, better guns, and sturdy vehicles.

As for motivating our guys, remind them of the big guns. Most guardsmen will never get their hands on meltas and carapace armor, so if the AdMech are willing to dole out some really nice stuff instead of the cardboard and flashlights, we'll get a good turnout. Hopefully. Also mention that all who take part in cleansing the heresy from the city will receive land and loot once the AdMech have "sanctified" the area.
>>
>>40208133

Sending a regiment is a good idea. Let's also ask Frederick his opinion and if he wants to get involved or stick with the fungus for now.

And call the inquisition because covering your ass is always smart.
>>
GET THE FUCKING INQUISITION IN HERE. THEY MIGHT KNOW SHIT AND HELP.
>>
>>40208299

This. Also call the Inquisition. CYA is always rule #1.

Also, given how big a hive city is, the scrap/salvage alone is probably worth more than our planetary GDP. When we factor in ancient technology, artifacts, and the like the value of the city increases several times over.

...

Could our Rogue Trader "friend" have known of this?
>>
>>40208133
Insist we gather intelligence on the matter first and foremost! We don't want to unleash something that's been dormant for so long, after all we've been through, this hive has been keeping to itself so odds are it will continue to do so, meaning we can afford to spend some time planning and preparing. Perhaps we can try some diplomacy here and communicate.

While that's going on, focus on building a cordoned off area and an clearing surrounding the hive, so should anything chaos or fungal pop out we can easily put in quarantine measures. Use PDF troops to give them more experience and to put off so heavy dependance on Kreig troops.

Also op, how do the dice rolls work? is anything between 40 to 60 a success plus a detriment and anything else above or below a success and failure?
>>
>>40208419

If we attack we cannot send our troops into a trap or an unknown situation. Isolate and secure the city. Discover relevant intelligence. Mobilize our troops so that, if the city proves to be intractably hostile, we can hit it all at once in a massive knockout blow.

I think we are being too much of a dick to the rouge trader, We've accused him on flimsy evidence before and hes been nothing but professional since we've met, only 2 instances of him doing anything to make us suspect him of anything and one of which is just really a comment that was spun out of proportion due to our own incompetence in diplomacy.
If we really are distrustful of him, we can bring that psyker friend with us next time to meet him to see if he can pick up anything strange.

Now with all that said, he is still kinda screwing us on some deals, and there's probably some long term goal for him involved, which probably involve profits, lots of profits$$
>>
>>40208520

Oh yes, I agree with you. My mention of the Rogue Trader above was mostly tongue in cheek given that this thread seems to accuse him of every single thing going wrong on the planet. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
>>
>>40208463
I'd like to ask for a few thing tho, can we also add in things like high success and high failures like: 80-99 or 2-30? I'd hate to get something in the 90+ and only get a simple success.

One last thing I want to bring up is the time skips, I feel we can do alot more and set courses of action if we didn't just go whole months at a time with nothing else happening.

You tell Helena not to fear and that you will send in a few regiments of veterans to support the mechanicus. You even suggest possibly having the mechanicus give them a few weapons to assist, melta or plasma guns and the such. Helena seems conflicted about this for a moment. "I'll... see what I can do. Meanwhile, get your troops in order." She says before running off. You contact Frederick about the situation, but he seems uncaring. "It's a few turrets, I'm sure a lesser commander can handle it." He says, the sounds of las fire in the back ground, as well as the groaning of the fungal zombies.
It is the day of the planned attack on the Hive City and it seems whatever inhabits the city has prepared itself. In addition to the loader servitors, a few gun servitors are also on the walls of the city. It seems like there will be an actual fight ahead of your soldiers.
>1d100+10 for Skitarri support for our invasion.
>>40208621
>1. I don't keep track of it, but I tend to make higher success/lower failures and such mean more. I just never came up with an actual number range for those cause it seems like too much book keeping and I already occasionally forget the ranges for success and failures and have to look back.
>2. I treat months as "turns" if this was, say, a 4X game. Generally I go for one to two major actions a month because it is assumed we are also doing a lot of boring/nonimportant stuff during the month as well. Attending meetings and get togethers, signing paper work, raising PDF regiments, etc. You know, busy work.

Month-turns are good, but there's also a bit of merit to "personal moments". Sometimes you gotta get off the throne and choke a few gits to get that granary built for your new town, right? (Of course, we realize you have to write all this and are appreciate of the work you're already putting in!)

Now, Skitarri. Let's DO SOME DEMO!
>>
>>40208721
>>40208734
>>40208738
>Rolls average to 23.6, a failure
Your troops were ready for the turrets. Your troops were ready for the gun servitors. What your troops weren't ready for was the sudden mortar fire and missile launcher shots that came blasting out of the city, blowing apart squads of Skitarii and veterans alike. Luckily, your troops do have the discipline to get a retreat in order, but many casualties are taken. Whatever is in there is more than prepared for repelling an attack. We're gonna need some heavier guns.
>The attack was repelled with a mild amount of casualties suffered. How should we move forward in response to this?

>>
>>40208815
Alert the inquisition and get the tanks ready. This is going to be a siege.
>>
>>40208815
Sound like we need some long-range bombardment. Or some tanks. Or both. Let's go with both.

Calling in some reserves just in case might also be smart.
>>
>>40208815
Call up the inquisitor if he's still on planet. See if he is willing to help or has an ordo hereticus acquaintance to do so, since tech heresy and all. In the meantime monitor vox around the city and zone artillery for bombardment of the city.
>>
>>40208815
So we just send a infantry only attacking force?

Well ok, make a ordered tactical withdraw. Mobilize our forces in the area, set up a field HQ to co-ordinate and communicate with all forces in the area.

Bring up our shiny new tanks and order our persona; ship to position itself near the hive for orbital artillery strikes with spotters on the ground.

have the ship target the ground near fixed emplacements so we don't damage the city to much.

After softening the defenses lead with a armored assault with infantry on both flanks.
>>
>>40208815

Ideal response would be Warhound Titans, if the AdMech are willing and able to deploy them. For the moment, rally the troops, congratulate them on their professionalism, and get them ready for the siege to come.

Build an outer perimeter and divert artillery regiments from the groups fighting the fungus zombies. Flamers are what those guys need anyway. Wait to see if the city has any defenders that sally forth, if not, begin a gradual bombardment of outer defenses, always moving the artillery after a barrage or two for safety. Time is on our side here, unlike in most other situations.

>>40208849

We can't rely on the Inquisition for everything, or we'll catch a bullet for incompetence. Yes, it happens. Yes, these are unusual circumstances, but best just to keep them up to date. Do "alert" them as suggested, don't ask for help again. Not just yet. Wait until Necrons begin popping up.
>>
>>40208815
Right now we have our forces split, which is bad. We need to siege the city until we can consolidate our efforts. Divert our big personal ship to hold orbit over the city and to blast anything coming in or out.

Erect fortifications around the edges of the city and have our troops take up defensive positions. Move our tanks into play. Alert the Inquisition to the discovery and failed attack.

Keep pressing on the Moon for the time being. We don't want to be caught in a war on two fronts, and we risk this if the spore infestation is allowed to spread uncontested.

Once we have better intelligence on the city's defenses and have a competent plan to attack we can divert some of the troops from the moon to assist us. We need to remember the troops on the moon are newbies and may be less than effective in an intense urban combat environment.
>>
>>40208936
I agree we do not need to ask the Inquisition for assistance yet. If they offer aid that is one thing. To constantly demand it is another. Men more powerful than us have died for less when the Inquisition is involved.
>>
>>40208917
Oh right we are still on the moon.

>>40208942
Changing mine to withdraw and pursue with reconnaissance and intelligence gathering to find out more about the hive before attacking, finish operations against the fungus stuff first!
>>
>>40208999
I agree we are way to dependent on others for assistance, to the point we have giving up some of our assets (the blue gel stuff) and future decision making without scrutiny (krieg and inquisition here).

On the return of the troops, you congratulate them for their professional attitude an inform them to begin building a field command. A siege is going to be needed here, at least while you finish up on the moon. You ask Helena if there are any chances the Mechanicus could deploy a warhound titan in response. She stares at you for half a minute. "We're lucky we have 3 Kastelans on hand... no, we don't have a warhound." She responds, sarcasm from her sounding strange with her robotic voice. After a few days, the start of the siege has begun, your soldiers having learned well from the Kriegers and developing trench networks. All the while, whatever is inhabiting the city doesn't seem to respond, keeping the turrets and servitors out on the walls, but never launching any attacks or something of that sort.
>The siege has begun, hereby ending this month. Roman Diaz comes by, getting his coolant and paying off his credits. He stays planet side a little longer this time, claiming he needed a break and Valencia seemed quiet enough when not at war with fungi. In the meantime, can someone roll me a d10 with a minus 2. This will be how many months until the moon is effectively sterilized.

I still want to talk to the mechanicus about equipping our forces with banewolfs that shoot coolant instead of the usual toxins.
>>
>>40209437

Well, we have raw ceramite and coolent, but we don't have specialized products. Let's focus on building our advanced industry. For instance, instead of selling ceramite, sell carapace or power armor; instead of selling coolent, sell plasma weapons.

This has several benefits. Not only does it allow us to domestically equip our army (for relatively cheap), and allow us to sell goods for a much greater profit, but we can also use it to get around our limits on selling coolent imposed by the Kriegers. They never said we couldn't export plasma-guns, only coolent.

You decide to start investing more into the civilian industrial economy. After all, you have plenty of raw resources, why not use them? Working closely with the mechanicus, you start getting production going on some siege weaponry, as well as producing carapace and plasma weaponry.
In the meanwhile, you get a report on Septimus's position. Evidently he is still at the pole and has been observing the drilling teams that extract the coolant, nothing more, nothing less.
