Then you hear it, a rustle from nearby, at first it could sound like the tree’s leaves shifting back and forth in the breeze, but this sounds closer. A primal fear grips you as you look over at your twin, she looks confused at your gaze. Something is moving nearby, you can’t make out what it is but something is moving in the nest that isn’t you or one of your sisters.

“Twitt?” she asks with a tilt of her head, wondering why you suddenly look panicked.
You need to wake big sis, now!

You jump onto your sister and her blanket tweeting loudly and rapidly, she needs to get up! There is someone in the nest with you! Stranger danger! You are suddenly flung onto the floor of the nest along with the pelt, which lands on top of you. You peer out from under it to see Older Sis sitting upright, her plumage all a mess.

“What, what is it? Trynna rest.” She questions you grumpily as she begins trying to fix her plumage.
“Tweet chirp, cheer twee~” You try to tell her but it doesn’t go anywhere, she just looks at you plainly. Curse you baby bird voice!
Maybe twin sis can help, you turn to her expecting her to back you up. But she has the same perplexed expression on as before! Damn it! All of you could be in danger right now. Or you could just be freaking out over nothing. But the first one is much more likely!

Not quite what I meant - since we're doing this in an attempt to get Bigsis to look at something (get her attention and get her to do something), I figured the power might as well play on those parts. That's where the siren part came from (the attention-grabbing and compelling).

And I never said we could speak convincing nonsense - saying "afsbfdbtdhtdz" wouldn't convince anyone of anything, because noone would have any idea what the hell we said. I was thinking closer to that we could tell someone that the sky was purple-polka-dotted, and they might have to actually look up to make sure it wasn't. Oh no, no stupid, punk ass, scaley piece of shit, is going to come into your family’s nest, and go after your little sibling! You ready your talons and begin rushing past the frozen statue that is your older sister and across the floor of the nursery kicking up straw and down as you pick up speed.

The snake is totally unawares as it inches its way closer and closer to your younger sibling. It is focused on staying silent, thinking that it still has the element of stealth and that it can get in and out of the Harpy’s nest before the mother returns, belly full of delicious egg. It flicks its tongue out yet again and suddenly there is a moment of comprehension in its eyes as it turns, all to late to find a Harpy chick raking its claws against scales. Leaving gashes that ooze red ichor onto the nursery floor.

The snake slithers back into a coil moving away from the egg and into the corner of the nursery, it rears up above you opening its mouth to reveal two sharp fangs that glisten in the morning sunlight. It lets out an audible “Hisssssahhhsssss” as its tongue dances in and out of its open maw.

It goes to strike launching itself at you with coiled power, but you are already out of the way it bites into the nursery floor with a *CRUNCH* as it snaps twigs with its impact.

Suddenly out of the corner of your eye something streaks by leaving another raking another several marks onto the coiled part of the snake’s body. Your twin sister, seeing your bravery seems to have snapped out of it and come to assist you.

“Tweet” she says with a nod of acknowledgement, before turning with the most serious face in her life to face your adversary.
