You drag yourself upright and look around.

You're in a small sandy cove mostly ringed by rocky cliffs. A flock of gulls seem to be circling something up on the cliff. The bit of ocean you can see is vast and empty, as usual.

Luckily, your boat seems to have beached itself near you. You imagine that a lesser boat would have abandoned you by now. It's in rough shape; you can immediately see that its mast is broken and your cargo has been scattered around.

The sun low-ish in the sky, and given that you are pretty sure you were last headed north, you guess it's probably mid-morning.

You round up all of your crap and take inventory. You have many things:

- A shoulder bag.
- Shitty Binoculars. They never seem to focus quite right, but they're better than nothing.
- A compass. You know how to use it. An easterly sun confirms that it is morning, and a quick comparison to your surroundings shows the ocean to the south and rocky cliffs everywhere else.
- A Geiger Counter. Most of the radiation should have dissipated by now, but better safe than sorry. Radiation here is as normal as can be expected.
- A well-maintained revolver. It kills things dead.
- Four bullets. With all they've been through, you're sure at least one of them is worthless.
- A small first aid kit. It's mostly just bandages and painkillers.
- Your trusty knife and it's sheathe. You keep it sharp.
- A water bottle. Contains drinkable water.
- Two snack bars. Crappy trail ration things. You eat one. It does not taste good.
- A lighter. Half full, maybe?
- A Flashlight. The kind you can shake to recharge.
- An empty jug. The kind you'd find on a water cooler.
- A jug full of drinkable water. Should last a while.
- A jug full of saltwater. This is kind of pointless right now.
- Hoses. You had been using them in a water purification thing, but...
- An Anchor and Chain. It's on the small side; your boat isn't very large.
- Various rope. Always good to have.
- Fishing gear. A rod, line, hooks, and other miscellaneous crap. No bait, though.
- Snorkel, goggles, and flippers. You know how to use them.
- WD40 and duct tape, for making things move or not move as needed.

- Broken Solar Panels. Cracked and waterlogged. You do not have the skills or tools to repair them.
- An electric stove. Perfectly functional, but lacking a power source.
- Miscellaneous cooking implements. Frying pan and tongs and the like. Also cutlery.

You also notice that some of your stuff is MISSING.

- Your water purifier. Military surplus. Well. "surplus". You stole it. You have no idea how it worked, but you put salt water in one end and drinkable water came out the other.
- Your navigation equipment and maps. The maps weren't particularly useful, but the rest of it sure was. You will miss your sextant.
- A box full of rations. With this missing, you are dangerously low on food.

Given that you might be stranded in some unknown location for some time, the first thing to do would be to get to an elevated location so you can get an idea of your surroundings. From there, you can find temporary shelter and obtain materials to repair your boat or otherwise signal for rescue.

Organize stuff to be easily reached on the boat. Bring along a canteen of drinking water, the knife, and a decent length of rope (30 ft. at most). Look along the beach for footprints besides ours, see if we can find out who took our big box of food.

In the meantime, double check to make sure the headache is just that and us not having a cracked skull.

The beach ends at the cliffs, you can't walk out of the cove.

The cliffs around you look fairly climbable. While climbing alone without a harness or anything is probably more than a little dangerous, you're fairly confident that you could get up there.

For all the damage it's endured, the hull of your boat seems to be intact. You could unload all of your crap, shove the boat back into the water, and then load everything back onto it again.

With your boat in the water, you could paddle along the shore instead of exploring on foot. You totally have an oar, you forgot to count that in your inventory.

Given how close the rest of your crap is to your boat, you guess that some of the missing stuff might have fallen in the cove somewhere. You could put on your snorkel&fins and look for it.


In any event, you pack your bag with the water bottle, the other snack bar, the knife, gun, binocs, and compass.

After a few minutes of snorkeling around, You find your water purifier half-buried in the silt.

The thing was on the heavy side to begin with, and with it full of silt, you're pretty sure you're not going to be able to just swim up to the surface with it.

Thankfully, though, it's the kind of thing that was build to survive this nonsense. It should still work if you can get it up to the surface and clean it out.

Welp, you figure that dragging the purifier along the floor of the cove is probably not a good idea, so you get to work unpacking the WAVEFUCKER.

And then pushing it into the water.

And then loading your crap back onto the boat.

And then paddle the boat over to the purifier and drop anchor.

And then you grab your shovel and repeatedly dive to dig out the purifier.

And then dive some more to secure it with a rope.

And then. Then you haul the damn thing onto your boat.


After like two hours of fucking around, you have the silt-filled mess of a purifier onboard.

You are somewhat sore, tired, and hungry from all the exertion. You still have no idea where the hell you are, but at least you have a source of clean water. Well, you do once you take the time to clean this thing out.

The coast seems to be composed entirely of jagged cliffs until you reach what you guess is the easternmost point of the island. There, you gain a view north through a massive, rocky arch.

In the distance, you see another island.

And ruins, you think. half-sunken skyscrapers.


The skyline, if you can even call it that, is familiar to you.

You're finally home.

Ok, so we finally found home. Or at least, what's left of it.

Now we gotta make sure to survive until we get there. And as things stand I doubt we'd be able to get there without a working sail and mast.

Which means we're gonna need to build a new one or find a new boat.

For now, let's head north (assuming the current/waves allow us to do so) and go west around the island. So we do a counter-clockwise rotation thing I guess from where we started at.
