You look to Maggie, and motioned to her two options. She looked them over uncertain. Orlando still seemed half-asleep and not quite aware of what was happening. Etienne looked about with irritation.

Domnall leapt, a curse on his lips, blade arcing out.

A shift of Solomon's feet. A flash of Solomon's sword. A single strike.

You were shocked by what you saw. His sword arm came off at the elbow.

That was not the shocking thing.

A thin red line bloomed across his face. Beneath his eyes, and over the nose. And the top of his head, it slid from the bottom half. Landed in the dirt with a wetness. And Domnall continued to stand a moment. You saw his eyes blink in that half head on the dirt, roll back.

That was when the body collapsed. Crumpled into a heap of human meat.

Solomon reached down and pulled the top half of the head up by the hair. He'd not cut a single strained. He looked the man in his dead eyes, matching that dead blankness with his own bored expression. And then threw it aside as if Domnall were nothing.

As he walked back to his wife he flicked his blade clean and returned it to his scabbard.

Etain all but panted upon the saddle she warmed for him.

Hell on earth, you had half an erection as well.

You looked down to Oilath.

"I don't suppose you have any objections?" you asked.

The man looked dazed. Scratched at his wirey ginger mane. "Fucking none. Christ in heaven, Domnall was figured one of the greatest warrior in Ireland."

Solomon rode away with his young wife into a nearby palm grove. No doubt to consummate the marriage. She was already fumbling at his belt. Solomon didn't even blink.

"Well," you said, "This isn't Ireland."
