Both you and Goku exit King Gurumes' castle, Suno and Penny thanking you for your help and the restored man himself joining in, saying that he'll have his people cease their search. It's quite dark out, and you haven't heard anything from Acer or Chi-chi yet. You're starting to wonder if something is up, or if they've already gotten the Dragon Ball are on a little date together. Heeheehee.

"Maple, why are you smiling like that?" Goku questions. Huh, you didn't seem to notice but you do have a rather dorky grin across your face.

"Oh, noooo reason~" you say as you skip around him. "Well, we have one Dragon Ball left, and brobro and Chi-chi are after it."

"What do you think we should do, Maple?" Goku places his hands behind his head.

It's a fair question. You could check in on your brother and Chi-chi, or you could regroup back at Kame House and wait for them to contact first, or you could do something else, maybe chat with Goku for a little while? It's getting a bit late, and you're fairly tired.

Besides, your brother both has his Scouter and is a telepath, if something were wrong he wouldn't be so quiet about this. "Let's head back to Kame House, we need some rest."

Goku yawns as well. "Yaah... yeah, probably a good idea, Maple." Both of you fly off, going to Kame House at a leisurely pace at first. Goku decides to change things up a bit "Say Maple, wanna race there?"

You smirk at him. "Someone is confident. You think you can outfly me? Who was the one who taught you how to do it?"

"Heehee, won't know unless we try!" he says as he starts bolting in the direction of Kame House, you following after quickly. As the two of you head off, you notice that Goku really has gotten better at this, you're gonna have to keep it up if you want to beat 'em again in the next Tournament. Actually...

"Hey Goku, what do you wanna do some day?" you ask him. "Like, is there something you've been kinda looking forward to becoming?"

"I dunno, I just wanna get stronger! And stop bad guys that hurt people, too." he says with a wide smile. Heh, typical Goku.

As you arrive at Kame House, you're greeted by Bulma, Krillin, and Launch, in her calm personality, and explain what you've been up to. Launch pats you on the head and praises you for offering to help just out like that. Inside, you see Yamcha resting on the couch, his leg raised and wrapped tight. Roshi smiles at you, while the head of the Pirate Robot... welcomes? you with a "YARR."

"I let his jerk brother come pick up the man. Seems like you hurt his pride far worse than any arrest could have. Crane Hermit was so mad when he learned that my students beat him so easily!" the old man says with a laugh.

"But, what if he comes after any of you again?" Bulma asks with concern.

"I'll beat him next time. For sure." Yamcha gives, a determined look on his face.

You finally turn to Launch. "How've things been with you? Or, er, you two?"

She smiles sweetly. "Good. We're learning a lot. We've been... talking more, too. It's not easy, but we're managing."

"Less than I'd have liked." the purple-haired young woman frowns. "I can kind of understand its makeup, but it's almost like I'm looking at a lost branch of technology. Very little modern technology is like it." She then turns to the robot head, concern on her face. "I was able to find out that they're extremely resistant to electromagnetic pulses, for some reason... and the head has data for emitting their own."

"Electrowhata?" Goku and Krillin ask simultaneously.

"Electromagnetic pulse." you repeat. Better find how to most simply explain it for them. "It's... think of it like an invisible attack that hurts electronics. TVs, cars, planes, and robots. It makes them stop working." You then turn to Bulma, with her now holding the head of the Pirate Robot.

Well, it was a time of war, so it would not be surprising if it had lost tech. EMP may of meant that a LOT of radiation type weapons were used. Even more dangerous ones. Its power may of been related too. It has been able to restart after a few hundred years. The cave is still ther too, we can investigaate stuff there later too.

Earths tech has been kinda weird, wonder if it relates to forgetting what happened, including the war stuff.

That's... a conundrum. You wonder if there might be something horrible related to that. Like if the things were designed to survive atomic weapons. It might explain their resilience. Or maybe such weapons were used on that King Piccolo character, and it was made as a safety feature. It WAS a time of war, after all. "Was it a weapon of war, survival, both?" Bulma turns it in her hands.

"Maybe a tool of the trade as well?" Launch adds, to all of your surprise. "Well, if it's supposed to knock out electronics and stuff, and if they're able to resist it, maybe the Pirates used it to do what Pirates do. Easier to rob from a helpless group."

"That makes sense... but not a pleasant thought. I mean they were criminals, after all, but... in a time of crisis like that..." you frown.

"Could always look back in that cave? I mean it's still there, right?" Launch asks. You, Bulma, and Yamcha all shudder. Eventually you get some rest, the boys sleeping downstairs while the girls go up. When morning breaks, you're starting to get worried that your brother hasn't tried to contact you.

The three of you blitz in the direction of the Dragon Ball, and finally spot a tower in the distance. You try to fly towards it... and feel like you slam into a wall in the middle of the air, all three of you crashing to the ground. You pick yourselves up at the base of the tower, a tall man with tan skin who looks like he's from around these parts, with a little boy on his shoulder who seems to be as small as you are, maybe smaller.

"More flying children. How strange. I am known as Bora, keeper of this land. Are you with the other two from last night?" he asks.

"The blonde one was my brother, Acer, and the girl was our friend Chi-chi. Um... why did we crash into the ground?" you ask, a little embarrassed.

"Korin appears to want to test you. Your brother and friend have already climbed up there." the tall man points upwards. The little boy hops off his shoulder and looks at you all.

"I am Upa. You all seem nice, but why are you here?" he asks

"We're trying to help some friends and get back my grandpa's Dragon Ball." Goku informs him.

"Wow, she's kinda cute." Krillin mentions to you and Goku.

It seems like the thing goes on forever, but after about an hour all three of you make it to the top. Heading inside, you spot your brother and Chi-chi laying on the ground, exhausted.

"Heeeey brobro, enjoy your date?" you tease. He just... smiles at you?

"Looks like I have more company." a deep, low voice comments, walking down the stairs to the floor you all are on. It... is indeed a cat, with white fur and a staff. Your Scouter's only giving you a reading of... 8? What? "Had a feeling you'd be coming."

"Excuse me sir, are you Korin?" Goku asks, wagging his tail. The cat man nods. "Then... do you have the last Dragon Ball?"

"So, about that wall?" you try and recalibrate your Scouter, it giving you the same reading of 8 once it's back to normal. "The one you made to stop us from just flying in here?"

"I didn't make it." he says as he walks over to a pot, grabbing two... little green beans out of it, and handing them to Acer and Chi-chi. Instantly they seem to be back to normal.

"W-what was that?" Acer asks, surprised at how he feels now.

"Senzu Beans. Fill you up for 10 days, and restore any recent injuries."

An idea pops into your head.

"Try to follow me, I've been trying to read his movements." Chi-chi mentions. Goku, her, and Krillin all try to dash at him, leaving a few afterimages behind. Before you can join in the fray, you notice that he himself has left an afterimage, Goku and Chi-chi crashing into each other while Krillin hits a wall. You try to follow him, but the Korin you think you see turns out to be ANOTHER afterimage. Your Scouter has another error.

"Not good enough. And stop relying on this thing, it won't help you here." he immediately grabs the Scouter off your face. "Come on now, I didn't get a reputation for being the 'god of martial arts' for nothing. Tricks like that won't help."

He dodges you almost effortlessly. "You live a few centuries as a cat, pick up a few tricks, and suddenly folks start calling you things, giving you funny titles and such. I'll be honest, kid, your presence has spooked some powerful folks up there." he motions up with his staff. "They wanted to make sure I was a proper challenge to you all."

"Flattered!" you shout, attempting to grab for the Dragon Ball again only for Korin to bat your hand away with his tail. Goku tries to lunge at him, only for him to dodge the monkey boy and grab him by the tail, flinging the now limp Goku at Krillin. Chi-chi and you try at it again, only for him to leave an afterimage at the last second, with the two of you crashing into each other face-first. Korin chuckles.

This series of events continue for the rest of the day, until all of you are exhausted to the point of near-collapse. "All right, nice try kids, but I think you all need some rest. Especially you, little miss." Korin points at Chi-chi.

You wait a few minutes, and then sit yourself up as well. The other Turtle School students turn their heads to him. You and he have a silent stare. Not much needs to really be said about that. However, this day seems to be more of the same. None of you can match up to Korin's speed, even with all of you trying at once. And yet... you all also seem to become more aware of each other, where your positions are, how much effort and energy you're putting out. Even Korin's movements seem to be slightly easier to read, though you're still a couple steps behind. Even with a bit of foresight, all it tells you is how you're going to fail. In spite of all this, the cat man is fairly impressed.

"I must say, a year ago you all would have easily handled me at the level you're at now, but I guess that extra training I got really helped." he says after you exhaust yourselves again. "I guess that's enough for the day, take five, kids."

"We'll never get the Dragon Ball with Whiskers the Wonder Cat outpacing us at every turn..." Acer grumbles.

You and your brother look at each other. You figured this was a possibility. Let's just hope it's far, far away. As your friends ask about that, you let them know about how your teacher gave you a final warning that he's no longer a good person, not delving into things deeper. Yet... this seems to harden their resolve. The following day of Korin's training goes by much, much better than before. You can... sense where all your friends are, and even more, where Korin is. Not telepathically, but... it's hard to describe, almost as if you have a Scouter inside you. Not quite accurate, no numbers, but... there's a gut feeling to it. By noon, all of you have formulated a good plan, and finally, after much struggle, Goku gets his grandpa's Dragon Ball, while you and Acer get your Scouters back.

Slipping on your Scouter, the first thing you notice is just HOW strong you all have become. It wasn't apparent before since it felt more... natural, but... all of you except Chi-chi have hit over 1000. Goku is almost as strong as your teacher was. What's more, you are stronger than that 1030 Power Level you saw when you first came to Earth. You finally turn to Korin, who smiles at you and starts to glow slightly.

All of you do as Korin instructs, and you all manage it almost as well. It's almost like keeping a lock in your mind, holding all your strength in there. The lowest you all manage to lower yourselves is 15, but that's still quite something. "This is... amazing..." Chi-chi comments.

Korin tosses each of you a Senzu Bean. "Good luck, kids." All of you rush over and hug him, Chi-chi scratching behind one of his ears and you behind another. "Aww stop, stop, you're embarrassing me."

All five of you stand up. "Thank you, Master Korin." The five of you wave goodbye, all seven Dragon Balls in your possession, and make it to King Gurumes' castle. You see Penny, Suno, the restored King himself, and his guards waiting outside, another man standing by Penny. A soft glow and low hum seem to come from the Dragon Balls.

A vibrant flash comes from the Dragon Balls, and out springs forth the Dragon itself. It seems to almost fill the darkening skies... you may have caught a glimpse of it last year, but this... this is astounding. You never got such a clear view of the being, it's awe-inspiring.

"I AM SHENRON, THE ETERNAL DRAGON. SPEAK YOUR WISH, SO THAT I MAY RETURN TO MY SLUMBER."

Penny seems to shrink back a bit at the creature's booming voice, but King Gurumes turns to her and nods approvingly. She takes a deep breath. "Sh-Shenron, please, I wish for you to restore this kingdom to its former beauty, and remove the cursed Blood Rubies from it so that they may never bother anyone ever again!"

"YOUR WISH SHALL BE GRANTED." Shenron's booming voice echoes through the area. You start to see greenery return to the land, the lake refilling with clear, clean water... and the blood-red stones all floating up out of the land. They rocket into space, hopefully never to be seen from again. "IT IS DONE. FAREWELL." Shenron glows again, then disappears in a flash, the Dragon Balls floating into the air. Right as they're about to fly off, Goku jumps up and catches the Four-Star Dragon Ball, presenting it to you happily as it turns to stone. You and your friends all start to cheer at a job well done, and with his grandpa's Dragon Ball in his possession, you feel a bit relieved.

All of you bow, then give a simultaneous "Thank you, Master Roshi." in return.

"I guess I have my work cut out for me. I'll train my hardest for the next Tournament in three years, and I hope to see you all there!" Yamcha says as he gives each of you a little fist bump.

King Kai has taken notice of the Earth, and might be meeting with some of its deceased fighters to see how things have been.

The [o] dot means you can expend one decently powerful energy attack per dot, before needing to rest and recover. So one Geist Magnum, one Kamehameha, one Ki Jan Ken, one Will 'O Wisp, etc. For stamina, it's how many straining actions you can take in combat before needing to rest, like abusing the afterimage technique. There are also other skills that depend on stamina, you might see them soon-ish.

The [+] represents how strong the respective attack is, either melee or energy. Influences the DC quite a bit when you're facing an opponent of similar skill level, and how hard you hit when you clear it.
