>Visit the Mechanicus temple around

The lander your were flying in was crossing the pure oxygen that formed the atmosphere of the miraculous place you were at. Melchisidor's Cloud was an orbital station encapsulated inside an atmospheric bubble created by miraculous and now practically forgotten Dark Age of Technology magitech.

At one point the pilot even dared to open the rear hatch and let the stalled air of the interior be exchanged by the fresh and pure breeze of the Cloud. Temperature was somewhat stable thanks to the radial heat of the many engines around and also a yellow start that blazed on the distance. Outside on the void several ships were seen capturing comets to gather fresh water for the inhabitants, in one of the most luxurious buildings there was even an artificial waterfall whose water fell down and once it left the safe bubble it boiled and less than a second later froze, becoming water dust that would float aimlessly to the ends of the days. On the edge of the bubble there were some strange machines that collected the dust and strange gases of the Interstellar cloud and spew white and puffy clouds on the other side, simulating nimbus clouds among other time of stratus and other atmospheric phenomena.

Everybody was completely dumbfounded by where they were at, but specially you and your men, their bright minds weren't only impressed by the beauty of the place but also of all the machinery around, only they were able to see the special beauty that those apparatus had.

With some other excited Techpriests you headed into the local AdMech temple. It was kind of curious how in such an technologically advanced location most people moved from place to place by walking instead of using other more advanced methods of locomotions. All the buildings were seemly connected between them by bridges that could be raised and separated and Ships were relegated and mostly used to transport newcomers or materials.
>>
>>40799587
After a nice and surprisingly pleasant yet short stroll across the streets you and your companions reached the temple. It was heavily decorated with thousand foot long stained wall depictions that showed yellow and cerulean robed techpriests with silvery mechanical wings and a gear shaped halo surrounding their obscured and featureless heads.

Once inside you were all meet by techpriests that wore robes of the same styles and following the same color schemes of the ones that the glass images showed. Most of them were grateful of meeting foreigners that shared their love and loyalty towards the Omnissiah. They all explained that the cloud acted as a natural barrier that hid them against privy eyes and xeno scanners alike. They were master crafters of jetpacks, jump packs and all kind of machines that helped with aerial manoeuvrability, their most proud creation were the Seraph Wing Pack. A couple of wings that took the space of two dendrites each and along with a small yet powerful engine let total and complete control among the skies.

"You see Grand Skitarii..." Said one of the cheerful looking techpriests. "There isn't nothing to do in there besides working hard, this place is way too nice and that...ends creating boredom. Our forges hasn't created a single weapon in at least two millenniums. Go to the Arena and entertain us, if you do we will gift you the wings, any of your warriors is free to participate too, only the ones that make it will be gifted liberty to live...and to fly."

It was strange, the techpriest guide said it with a innocent looking smile yet his eyes showed no mercy nor empathy on them.

"We'll think about it..." You say as you leave.

>Go shopping for toys, weapons...

Not far away from the Cathedral and the Fabricatoriums there was a market district that sold all the goodies that were manufactured both locally and externally. It was obvious that the people around were pretty rich; shops sold fancy objects like jewel encrusted tiaras or life sized mahogany , gold and ivory made statues of oneself with long and feathery wings.

There were no weapons for sale, the only ones that could legally arm themselves were the arena fighters, the law members and with a temporal permit the foreigners.

It was a pretty expensive shopping run but at the end you ended buying a small toy for Mellizune, a small ring for Liwet and a strange mechanical gizmo with apparently no discernible purpose at all for your daughter Alaria.

>Visit the Psykana temple to see if Liwet has left you any message

The local Psykana temple was a white marble tower with a jade and diamantine bell on top of it that had several strange jewels and cristals encrusted on it and was covered in strange lines and symbols that had an bright aureal glow on them. Even from the ground the Bell was visible from afar and the strange ways it reflected the sunlight made it even more flamboyant.

Once inside you introduced yourself. An old yet vibrant looking man greeted you and searched your name on an apparently neverending registry book.

"Oh yes yes, there you are. Addressee is Heracor Nahive...two messages!"

Only two?

"Please, I want to hear them."

"Very well very well, follow me stranger."
>>
>>40799616
On this occasion you felt more confident, whatever reason you blocked psychic phenomena it seemed to be weakening as time passed by. Karelia and Mellizune even started to feel less repulsed by you. Even if you were somewhat worried of what was going on inside your own persona you were grateful for it. You were headed into a small and intimate room where a cloth covered Astropath awaited you. You omitted details and simply asked him to do his best. He placed one hand on your forehead and the other on your heart.

"The heart is pure...the mind is strange. Your soul has an strange echo on it. There isn't any corruption on any of them, yet it looks...unnatural."

There isn't any corruption? Does that mean that the strange memory-virus that the corrupted techpriest had forced on me was now erased? You hoped so...about the other, you already knew that there was something wrong with you. Oddly this individual didn't saw cracks on your mind but an echo, surely the way each of them saw the occult world was unique...

"Might be your bionics..." He ended saying with a shrug. "Well...are you ready?"

"I am."

"Dear Heracor. Today has been my first year since I entered into the order. I have been training very hard! I bet my muscles aren't as strong or hard as your bionic arms but I still would love to arm wrestle with you some day, the Emperor will aid me and at the end I will be the winner you'll see! Oh! Tomorrow me and my Sisters have our first mission! I'm pretty excited about it, we will recover some relics from some looters from the Bad Moons or something like that. I don't really know what they are but if they are as weak as they are lame giving themselves names it will be easy peachy."
>>
>>40799626

After that message the Astropath suddenly started to cry profusely.

"D-dear Heracor...they were neverending. Our fire and metal purged them left and wild but like rebel weeds they always kept appearing...I have seen many of my best friends and teachers dying heroically, and at the end we ended losing the relic after the xenos leader decided to incorrectly use it. I don't know if the Emperor or your Omnissiah made that strange machine explode with such intensity that it created an orange mushroom cloud. I don't...I don't know if that explosion was good or bad, it killed the leader but also made us fail our mission..."

The Astropath was shocked back from the emotional stress. You too felt troubled and full of both material and emotional pain, part of her sorrow somehow impregnated the astropathic message so greatly that it ended reaching you two.

After that you weakly moved away from the room and paid the services. In front of you lied the most beautiful thing you had ever seen but still, it looked empty and meangliness now that Liwet's sorrow was troubling your heart.

>Return to the ship and try to rest.
>Go to the Arena and fight with your men.
>Return to the Psykana and ask to send a message ( Write in )

>>Return to the Psykana and ask to send a message ( Write in )
Liwet, I am sorry for your loss. I no what it is like to lose friends in combat. As to the explosion? Some machine have very sensitive spirits, use them incorectly and they could do much, much worse than an explosion. I am glad you survived. Keep strong and keep your faith Liwet. That ahs always been one of the best parts of you. I miss You. Good luck.

>Go to the Arena and fight with your men.
Pretty sure Heracor wants to kill something right about now.

waiting for the inevitable underside riots that consume this place.
>>
>>40799642
>Go to the Arena and fight with your men.
I require wings damnit. I don't think losing dendrites for them will be a good idea overall but we can test them out and then keep the wings in storage for later use.
Hotswappable wings yeah!

Also I can't stop laughing at how accurately that SoB mission portrayed their orders' success rate.
>>
>>40799733
>I don't think losing dendrites for them will be a good idea overall

We have TWELVE DENDRITES. That's a high number even for a techpriests. Wings would only remove four of them, I think its a great motherfucking deal.
>>
>>40799642
>Return to the Psykana and ask to send a message.

Even if your head hurt you couldn't leave without messaging back, right now she needed you most. You went back on your steps and paid once a gain. This time you were headed into another room with another Astropath, you didn't even focused on how he or she looked, you only wanted to send the message as soon as you could.

"Liwet, I am sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose friends in combat... As to the explosion? Some machine have very sensitive spirits, use them incorrectly and they could do much, much worse than an explosion. I am glad you survived. Keep strong and keep your faith Liwet. That has always been one of the best parts of you. I miss you. Good luck. Ave Imperator, Ave Omnissiah."

Once again each word felt like a wasp sting in the inside of your brains, still you managed to hold and do it. The kind people around even helped you after experiencing such stressing moment, surely your worry and stress also impregnated the message. Astropathic communication didn't only sent words across the universe but also the emotions of the sender with them.

>Go to the Arena and fight with your men.
Back outside and feeling refreshed you messaged all your cohort about the wings and the combat proposition, soon some of the warriors that were present when the guide spoke confirmed it and added veracity. Many of them wanted to join into the fight but you couldn't waste useful warriors into such a fight, using your generals would be a way better idea. Your warriors would be a great asset in a massive fight but in this occasion it would be a small scale skirmish, and thus only the elite would be required.

The Melchisidorian wanted entertainment, you would give them entertainment and blood.
>>
>>40799776
B-but we need all our flamers and claws and drills and plasma cutter and various other tools!
>>
>>40800141

Soon all of your closest warriors accepted the proposition and swore to fight alongside you...all except two. For some reason the couple formed by Faust and Eugen declined. To understand their reasoning you opened a private conversation with them.

++WHY IS THAT YOU TWO HAVE DECLINED THE PROPOSITION?++

++HERACOR, YOU HAVE BEEN SO BUSY LATELY THAT YOU HAVE ENDED OUT OF TOUCH WITH OUR SITUATION. EUGEN AND I HAD A DAUGHTER, WE HAVE CALLED HER NANA...OUR CRUISER IS NOT A BAD PLACE BUT NEITHER THE BEST FOR HER GROWTH, WE DON'T WANT HER HER TO BE A VOIDBORN, WE ARE STAYING THERE. WE ARE ALREADY WORKING TO WORK FOR THE MELCHISIDORIAN MECHANICUS TEMPLE. ++

Just a few years ago you wouldn't have understood them but now you did, they just wanted the best for their offspring. You knew that they had it but still didn't found any time to visit and meet the newborn...your relationship with them got colder and eventually turned merely professional. There wasn't anything that tied them to the Cruiser...

At the end you ended choosing fighting only alongside your closest generals:

>Braxgar Jo:
He is a good leader that gets along with the rest of the army and tries to be nice yet disciplined with everybody regardless of their rank. He thinks that every machine is important no matter how small or weak it is and thus every Skitarii must be treated equally, from the lowliest one to the highest ranked General. He fights with an Melta Pistol and a Transonic Blade.
>>
>>40800162

>Fregorek T’or:
A trapmaster; he has an abhorrent hate for the xenos machinery and has all kinds of weaponry focused on disabling or destroying it. He is filled with many Servoskull ended dendrites that can send EMP and other wave explosions that fry and deactivate machines and vehicles, during emergencies those servoskulls can be detached and used to bombard and sabotage, without the skulls from the end of the dendrites long blades appear becoming thus deadly weapons. Besides of the use of his dendrites he battles with a sniper rifle with modified penetrator rounds that were blessed over twenty times to make them impact the joints and other sensible and exposed points of the enemy machinery.

>Svartan Snotten:
A woman so modified that she pretty much lost any trace of femininity and humanity on her form. She dons a Gigas Mechanica Frame and equipped herself with the newly acquired laser transferring arms. With some other modifications she has been able to make her fists spit fire like a heavy flamer and become red hot without suffering damage. Svartan prefers to be on the first line and as a vanguard encounter the enemy directly, ripping it to pieces and turning xenos machines into little more than molten slag.

>Erbayri Alp:
Another member of the XX chromosome. She prefers to be a jack of all trades warrior, somewhat like you. She loves to modify her body and the only untouched part of herself is her face. She doesn't has changing her face forbidden but she wanted to keep that original because it was the only way most people had to recognize her due to her frequent changes. Right now she installed the same bionics that you have just to understand more how you work.
>>
>>40800180

>Feles “Genocidecles” Andaxignis:
He’s a man that prefers to use servitors and warriors and supervise the battle as if it were a theatre. While it is true that he will be present on the war he uses a large array of vox comm transmitters to send orders to all his soldiers. He dons a special helmet that it is able to connect with any of the Skitarii he is above of to supervise their movements and surroundings. He’s the weakest of all and uses a chainsword and laser pistol to defend himself.

Once in the gates of the Arena you were greeted by an armoured presenter.

"Six warriors uh? Good, really good! Well, its been long since we haven't had so many foreign participants on the same time. Choose the kind of fight you want to have~"

Make sure if we're conscious after this to say bye to Faust and Eugen and wish them well in their endeavors here. Maybe they can get these rarified bloodthirsty people do something worthwhile besides stewing in their own boredom.
>>
>>40800192
>Fight against beasts.
On the whole we've got a flamer/firefist heavy team. Fregorek will be of less use with his EMPs doing little but his sniper rifle will come in handy against tough beasts and his bladed dendrites will no doubt be handy to slice and dice the smaller ones.

Naturally fire is super effective vrs the beasts.

Are we wearing our latest armour by the way? The archeotech suit?
>>

>Naturally fire is super effective vrs the beasts.
Unless I send exotermic lava worms against them.

>Are we wearing our latest armour by the way? The archeotech suit?
Yes, everybody is wearing that armor and with all their weapons on them and full of ammor.
>>
>>40800303
>Unless I send exotermic lava worms against them.
Yeah, yeah, I know it was a dumb assumption to make but still, we've got a varied arsenal and flame retardance on at least one of us (does Erbayri emulate our equipment as well as our bionics?)
>>
>>40800346
>does Erbayri emulate our equipment as well as our bionics?
She's a female clone. Her weapons are standard instead of special versions so her sword is just a regular power sword and the same with her plasma gun.
>>
>>40800370
Need, so she gets our fireproof cloak too then?

>Waves of enemies.

"We will show the superiority of steel over flesh by fighting all the organic warrior you can send us at. Each one of my men is as fight as twelve of yours..."

The presenter simply bent in a mockery of respect and then opened the gates for you and your team. It seemed that every person that was captured committing crimes was jailed and turned into a gladiator, with their combats they paid their debt to the Imperial society; each gallon of blood they spilled was a day fewer, each defeated enemy was a year less. It was kind of horryfing really but this was a pretty normal case of Panem et Circenses...The people were well fed but their lives were dull and boring; with those combat to the death they were able to entertain the bored citizens and oppress the criminals at the same time.

As you walked by the floors and walls started being less flourished and decorated and slowly became more crude and simple. Prisoners didn't even deserved having something beauty to look at from inside their squat cells. You and your team crossed several corridors and each of them was full of cellrooms, cages and every kind of containment possible. At the end you reached a great circular Arena with a sand soil, honestly it wasn't so different from the old and now abandoned Arena back in your Cruiser.
>>
>>40800668

"Is everybody ready!?" You ask as you unsheathe your powersword and enter the hydrogen flask on the plasma gun, making it brightly glow with a green hue.

"Yes sire!" They all got in a circle around you, each of them with their weapons ready and raised.

The gate you entered from wasn't the only one. You were surrounded by gates from which the enemies would enter. Right now those warriors were part of yourself, and they would follow each one of your orders, you had to start with a tactic.

>Mobile. Make them move as a single group where you order too. Never stop moving. That will tire them but make them unpredictable and able to hunt down enemy groups more effectively.
>Shield. They will stay in the heart of the Arena and fight the enemies as they get closer. This will let them reload and fight without even getting tired but the enemies could group and attack weak spots.

Well you started later than usual, and a lot of anons might have stopped paying attention after you said indefinite hiatus on twitter and haven't checked back. Also you banished a potential waifu(anons get pissed about that at times) and made our daughter turn into a self-mutilating little sociopath in the last thread, even though we picked a relatively quick option and told her we'd be there when necessary. Kinda fucked us even after we tried to make steps to prevent it.

Just my take on it.
>>
>>40800850
Nah, you're doing fine. I guess all the mericans are still working or something like that.
>>
>>40800919

but anon, she's just being made better.

The daughter stuff I agree somewhat, but it fits the general tone of the quest, especially with her being a techpriest-in-training.
>>
>>40800998
>but anon, she's just being made better.
Arguable, She could easily come back broken, insane, or so filled with zealotry she'd rather run us through than let us look at her.

>The daughter stuff I agree somewhat, but it fits the general tone of the quest, especially with her being a techpriest-in-training.

Point was we took steps to avoid it, and Heracor wouldn't be that blind, especially since she was disrupting routine, which autists HATE. He'd have caught on well before a the gun was finished, if only because her anomalous behavior would have got his attention.
>>
>>40801057
Heracor isn't really autist, besides I explained that Heracor worked so hard that he simply went straight to bed and returned to work even before she woke up. He was simply way too tired to notice it.
>>
>>40801099
>besides I explained that Heracor worked so hard that he simply went straight to bed and returned to work even before she woke up.

Thing is he had other people helping him and there is only so much you can work on. If he was doing this by himself I'd understand, but you brought in our skiitari on it too, which should have cut down on work and fatigue.

Also her crying, which she had obviously been doing beforehand, as well as reports on her training should have tipped him off.

but w/e it's done. Just my thoughts on it. Seems like we're forcibly have stuff shit up just to have stuff shit up. Like with Faust and Eugen.
>>
>>40801223
>Like with Faust and Eugen
They made a quite solid decision, this is a relatively peaceful planet from the looks of it, and fighting shit for an Inquisitor is not exactly the best option if they want to die of old age.

I agree on the other points tho.
>>
>>40800688
>Shield. They will stay in the heart of the Arena and fight the enemies as they get closer. This will let them reload and fight without even getting tired but the enemies could group and attack weak spots.

"Stay close! We are a weapon! We are an engine! The Omnissiah is with us today!"

The doors opened and drug pumped psychopaths and all kind of other criminals appeared soon from all the gates. Among them there were rabid dogs and even a horse rider or two that had crude lances with them.

Since most warriors were adapted for mid to close ranged combat the entire herd of enemies were able to get pretty close before the salvo of promethium, fire and plasma impacted them hard and deadly.

One of the two horses ended sliding on a melted flesh part and falling down, the sound of its rider breaking its neck was audible even above the noise of the meltas. Svartan took her chance and grabbed the fell horse to use it as a heavy projectile to launch at the other rider, somehow the horse got frozen in fear as it saw its equine kin flying towards it and dreadfully neighing as it flew and spun on the air.
>>
>>40801317
just Axsisel basically killed our friendship with them arbitrarily. That was what I was upset about, not the whole them being smart.
>>
>>40801322
The first wave was easy to deal, just about twenty unarmed men and two horsemen. The people around started gathering and filling the seats, some camera servoskulls appeared and recorded our fight, transmitting it on the citizen's pict-screens for their enjoyment.

"AND NOW, COMES THE CROWS!!" Yelled the announcer.

From the sky more criminals with jetpacks and weaker versions of the seraph wings appeared with long swords, scythes and spears.

1. We never got a chance IC tot talk to them
2. We've seen them at our temple for at least a year after Eugen gave birth, even if they had to alternate time slots to take care of the kid.

Don't misunderstand I get why they're moving away. but just saying "you're not friends anymore , just because," is kinda irritating.

That being said we're moving on let's kill some gladiators.
>>
>>40801339
>Use the proxy drone to convert the skulls of the deceased criminals into servoskulls that both you and Feles can control. Those servoskulls won't have any weapon but will

Most bodies around are completely turned into little more than piles of bones and ash but still there are a few that can be swiftly decapitated. At the end you ended with eight usable heads.

"THE LEADER IS A BARBARIC PERSON! HE DOESN'T ONLY KILL THEM, HE BUTCHERS THEIR HEADS AFTERWARDS!" Blasted the vox caster.

The warriors around you fought as best as they could, one of them got slashed in the the shoulder, you didn't even looked who of them got injured, you were way too busy working on something else. Squatting you grabbed each head and used the proxy drone to scalp and remove any trace of skin of their heads. Since there wasn't any machine around to use in the construction of the servoskull the best thing you could do was to give them a weak and terminally ill engine that could barely endure their weight. Those servoskulls could barely be called servitors, they were blind and devoid of any sense really, their machine spirits were formed by a couple of transmitters and resistances and thus incredibly slow.

After they were all done you ended having to manually grab them all and launch them into the air. After the throw they stood suspended in the air, unable to move, yet unable to fall.
>>
>>40801806

The last one you threw impacted one of the Crows, the skull then exploded. It wasn't strong enough to directly damage the person but the flash of light and the cloud of bone dust and fragments it created were enough to stun them down. Their wings ended being their perdition, once stunned in the air the only direction they could go to was down. The Crow fell violently and broke its spine after the fall.

Feles and you coordinated together to explode them when one of the flying enemies was close. Some of them were clever enough to cover their heads after this happened but doing so they ended staying still and thus giving your warriors a chance to shoot them down.

At the end they all ended falling to their deaths or being shoot down. Another round was completed.

"ROUND TWO IS OVER AND THEY ARE ALL STILL ALIVE! THIS IS GETTING INTE-INTERESTING!!"
"90% OF THE PEOPLE IS WATCHING US! NOW ITS TIME TO RELEASE THE OGRYNS!!!!!"

The public cheered loud and from each gate a naked ogryn appeared wearing crude weapons made from metal. It seemed that each of them wore explosive collars around them, possibly for control reasons.

>Group everybody but Svartan into a single group and focus fire on Ogryns one by one, make Svartan aid if they get way too close.

"Svartan! Get out of the group and defend us if the abhumans get too close! Everybody else, stay still and lets hunt them down one by one!"

You point your index towards a porcine and retarded looking Ogryn that due to his small intellect ended focusing into your finger instead of understanding what it meant.

The group all turned around at his direction and aimed. You grabbed your Phospex blaster and Arc Pistol and defiantly pointed at his saliva babbling head. He dashed and when it was close enough you shoot first a blast of phospex directly into his face, then you used the arc gun to make that same phospex explode and burn even harder.

In less than a second that savage had lost any trace of his ugly mug and was about to turn into a deformed being. On his small brain a conflict occurred, the most sensible part of his being asked him to run away...but there was other voice, one that urged him to dash and hurt those that hurt him...Obviously he choose the second.

Now completely blind due to his eyes being melted down he ran like an enraged boar in your group. About fifteen feet from impacting he was received with a mix of fire and melta.

His endurance was admirable, even as a burning and melting body composed of boiling fat tissue, smoking muscles and charring bones he continued rushing. The Gigantic Svartan made him fly away with a great punch.

The Ogryn's internal structure was so weakened that the powerful puch simply made him explode into a blast of flesh and bones that carried with it a rain of blood afterwards. The explosion was so close that it stunned and threw her and the rest of your team away.

There were still five more to kill. They were getting close fast and both you and your team were dizzy and confused.

You swap for your plasma rifle and proceed the shoot the closest one. Your lucky shot hit the female Ogryn on the ankle and instantly started to eat its flesh until it was way to weak to hold her heavy weight and left her with a broken ankle that would soon turn into and amputated foot.

After such trauma she fell down so violently that the apparently got concussed enough to lose consciousness.

"Shoot and stand up! Shoot and stand!"

Slowly you stood up and ended with the female Ogryn by shooting again and letting the ball of plasma devour her big yet empty head.

Soon the rest of the team managed to stand up but most of their attacks were fruitless and barely scraped them or missed entirely.

There were only three of them alive, you quickly looked around and saw the Gigas Svartan brawling with one of them. The other two were about to reach your team, you had to think quick.

"Split!"

The group divided in two and went on opposite directions, oddly the two enemies became first surprised, then confused, oddly instead of following the closest group they decided to switch, this ended making them stumble and trip down like playful infants.

Your team didn't had to run very far away, with them down they simply shoot them down and then used a couple of well placed incendiary grenades just in case. As the team was starting to get closer to the fight between Svartan and the remaining abhuman the two bodies exploded on their backs with a great deflagration.

As there was a fireball forming on their backs they all saw of she ended getting tired of the fight and activated her laser arms, they soon became red hot and steamy. As if they were lighting fast she started landing punches on the naked body of her enemy. With each punch a red burning mark appeared. Soon the Ogryn started to got all red and bloated from the heavy punches, it also looked as if his muscular frame was starting to get softer as it got more and more impacted.

At the end the Ogryn couldn't take it anymore and fell on his back. It looked completely swollen and burned, surely her bones were completely broken and his meat so burned and softened that he ended losing balance not because he was defeated, but due to his body being unable to cope with it anymore. With a quick headstomp, your general killed the abhuman, from his neck a column of smoke and blistering blood started to pour.

"AND THE WINNERS ARE THE NEWCOMERS!!!"

Seems like that was the last wave. You and your warriors would now have wings if they desired. Success.

Sorry guys but I will end it today. Today was a really tiring day, that's why I started later than usual. If possible I'll run tomorrow too.

As always 30 minutes of questions and such.
