The shrine erupts with an arcane plume of energy. A dull reddish hue streams out from Umeki's body as she howls a transcendent shriek; somewhere between surprise, pain, and joy. You and the others each step back, blinded by the sudden influx of energy and light that erupts from her form. You can barely hear yourself think over the noise, nor truly place yourself in the situation. But as striking and as overwhelming as the power feels, it ebbs almost as quickly as it began. Your eyes still blink, involuntarily, still blinded by her brilliance. Yuuki flashes his eyes - perhaps rebooting them - but Momoko, Sen, and Shun are not so capable.

"Umeki!" You manage to gasp out as your vision returns, finally catching a glimpse of her. When someone first binds to a focus, they generally corrupt (or perhaps this would be an appropriate use of Mai's 'awakening' term?) before settling down. After that, their emotions and energy build until they reach another summit of power and undergo the same release of energy. Seeing it happen right before you, the thought occurs about whether or not this is natural; what is supposed to happen when someone binds. These power surges do accompany a dramatic rise in ability, after all. But regardless of whether it is natural, the risk they pose is your concern- both to the innocents around them, and to the wielder themselves- as you find yourself concerned about now.

The normally calm and demure Umeki is gone- replaced with a seething, twitching mass of hair and movement. It's clear she's still very much in the middle of a transformation, as the aura of light engulfing her has not faded yet, merely dimmed. Her arms move unnaturally - as if skipping you were watching a video with frames skipped over - and her face is distraught; eyes awash with that gruesome static whilst her mouth hangs open. The robe she bore before remains, but floats about her body, trailing off with a phantom wind that only graces her. Her hair pulses with a faint, pinkish light, and you hear a rhythmic 'crack' from her every second or so, faint yet noticeable.

"Sis..." You glance over to see Momo, holding a hand in front of her mouth. Must be quite a sight for her- to see her normally innocent sister bewitched by this power and twisted almost beyond recognition.

"A-Are you okay!? Does it hurt? Say something! Umeki! Umeki!!" She calls out, clutching at her sister's robe. At her grasp, Umeki's head turns to face her. Although... turn is hardly an accurate description for that movement. It feels like her head was always in that position, as if your memory is the thing at fault.

"Momo, stay back." Yuuki advises, struggling to keep his cool as he tugs at Momoko's arm. He has the right idea though; there's no telling what kind of powers Umeki just received, or what she might do if you let her complete her transformation. You could purify her right now, and hope it doesn't harm her. Or you could run the risk of letting her figure it out first.

You could just adapt a nWoD system, it already uses a D10 system. Although perhaps without the exploding dice.

The main thing WoD does it change the dice pool size with actions. A single success is generally considered a success for most quick actions, while 5 or more successes is a critical success from what I remember.

Do we want to retcon Umeki getting the focus?

Normally not something I'd offer, but it doesn't seem like the majority like the idea, and it was a random thing I sprung so I'd be willing to pull it back if that's not a thing people want. (I'm not 100% on it myself, but I do know some directions I could take her having powers).

If we want this, it'd be best to do it now. The weird thing is, there's an actual in-universe explanation I could even use.

Given her almost energy-being-esque state, there's a chance you can still calm her down before she fully transforms. You need something try and ground her; bring her mind back to a conscious and controlling state before her emotions override her. But you'll need to grab her attention first. To that end, you rustle around in your bags quickly and retrieve some items. With the false tail at your waist, your magic quickly contorts it into a real, swishy foxtail, along with the ears with some more outfitting. Now firmly as something Umeki would never overlook, you step forward.

"U-Umeki, can you hear me?" You ask, trying to nail down her vision. In that same irregular, unnerving method of 'movement', her head shifts to face you, staring with those static-filled eyes. You gulp.

"Umm... aren't I cute?" You ask, smiling and flicking your tail back and forth.

"MAKOTO!" Shun squeals, incredulous of you.

"N-No, it's an idea." You assure her. She continues to not believe you as the light on Umeki ebbs further, solidifying her. You turn back to her.

"Umeki, it's me, Makoto. It's okay, I know you're scared but," you reach out your hand towards her, "just focus on me, alright?" You ask, placing a hand at her shoulder(?). You feel a sudden crack of noise throughout your body as soon as you touch her, and the world goes white. Immediately you falter, feeling your body stretch as your hand struggles to pull itself away from her body.

"Argh!" You grunt as you rip it back. The minute you do so, the world snaps back into place. You pant, catching your breath after that fiasco. You're back in Umeki's room; you must have stumbled into there when you pulled your hand away...

"S-Sorry..." You mumble, but stop in your tracks when you spy Umeki beside her- most notably not illuminated in her magic light. She is seated next to Shun - also naked - and more than a little embarrassed. Something about this... feels familiar.

"...Momo... got to confirm your gender twice today." You say, narrowing your eyes. Shun growls, with her cheeks puffed up. Now that you definitely remember, but what the heck is going on? Last you recall, Umeki was transforming and now... she's fine. You're all back in her room, naked. Not a situation you hate, but what on earth-

You flinch as you feel a tug at your tail.

"AAAI! So fluffy~" Umeki exclaims, hugging it. You shiver as the sensation travels up into your body from her tender, loving touch.

"W-What!?" Shun squeaks, tugging the blanket up to her chest and looking around. Umeki squeals as well, covering herself.

"Momo! What are you doing in here?" She shouts, staring around the room. "Momo?" Seeing none of the three younger ones around, the two girls sit there, baffled.

"...Oh, ha-ha, Makoto." Shun groans, letting the blanket fall down again. "Very funny." Umeki glares at you as well, but her gaze is somewhat undermined by a reluctance to stop caressing you. You yourself glare back, but for a different reason; scanning her for any signs of magical residue. Surprisingly, there are none- she's as clean as she's always been.

She apologises, mistaking your question for HER focus. that's not what you meant, but you doubt they're going to have a good answer for you. For whatever reason... you've either imagined the future or gone back in time. If that's the case, then that focus must have some kind of time powers! Right!?

"You..." You gulp, ready to test something, "got to lick Umeki though. That was nice, wasn't it?" You ask with a smirk.

"Well, I didn't know it was Shun." Umeki replies. Perfect! That's exactly what she said before. As on cue, she then fumbles and says "N-Not that you being the dog would have changed anything! I'm happy you licked... Ohh..." and buries her head in the blankets. As adorable as before.

The thought of simply following the timeline as is occurs to you, then you could really interject and prevent from accidentally binding. But forcing it on her suddenly surely isn't the best way to go about that- at least this way, you could even offer her the choice, or find someone better for it. This is a big power, after all; you can't let just anyone have control of time. In any case, this timeline is pretty screwed so you decide to break it.

"A-And then Umeki said I was a good girl..." Shun mumbles, holding her cheeks and blushing slightly as the two of you listen to her story.

"Really? Did someone else turn into a dog and feel up Umeki?" She asks, crossing her arms. Umeki tilts her head and Shun starts sweating, begging you to just continue.

"No, it was you, but you've told me this story before." You say.

"I... what?" Shun asks, baffled.

"I..." you say, holding your finger up, "am from THE FUTURE!" You announce. Their blank stares continue.

"Hokay, 'Future Makoto'." Shun says, using air quotes. "I don't know what's gotten into you but-"

"Are there jetpacks in the future?" Umeki asks you, nuzzling your tail to her face.

"Probably." You say, shrugging. "I'm only from a few minutes ahead. Want me to prove it?" You ask with a smirk. Umeki smiles and nods, but Shun is still a disbeliever. You smile and start to recount Shun's story- the parts she hasn't told yet. Her face quickly moves from a dull look into complete astonishment.

"That was a beautiful story, Makoto." Umeki says wiping her eyes with a smile.

"PFT- THAT WAS MY STORY!" Shun exclaims, fuming with anger. Come to think of it, you did just rob Shun of her Umeki-back-massage. Poor girl, this is a bad timeline for her.

"Anyway, from the future and with, ironically, little time to lose. I'll be back!" You say, jumping to your feet and throwing the door open as the two of them call after you. You thunder down the halls, heading for the kids room to head them off. Luckily they're not completely up yet, and you spy Momo in the doorway, wearing a cute nightgown. The room ahead is similar to Umeki's, but notably filled with children.

"Just because you'd be a girl doesn't mean you'd get all the bits. Shun-chan doesn't have breasts either." Momo says, pointing down the hall. Good thing Tanakawa wasn't here to hear that. Sen and Yuuki are inside, also in their respective pajamas. They didn't manage to shove Yuuki into a nightgown, sadly.

"I just don't think it's the best- Makoto?" Yuuki asks, noticing you standing behind Momo. She glances back and notices you too- then notices your tail.

Despite Momoko's sudden bout of excitement, Sen continues to stare at you. It unnerves you for a little at how she looks, and you'd swear she's emitting some energy. Suddenly, she blinks and steps back, eyes wide and in awe of you.

"You... he..." Sen mumbles, looking over at Yuuki. Judging from her reaction, she probably just read your mind and learnt about the focus.

With Sen in the know about the Time focus, and her own mixture of fear and confusion about you, there has to be a quick way to deal with her hesitation. You sure don't want Mai, Naru, and Pepper finding out you can potentially control time. You turn towards her and smile.

"Don't you wanna see cute Yuuki, Sen?" You ask, tilting your head. She blinks, and you see that fear slowly be replaced by a demure desire to see just that. Yuuki looks at her with big, pleading eyes.

"I-I... want to see the cutest Yuuki." She mumbles, pulling her hair down over her face as she blushes. Her desire to see your little brother in a dress probably matches that of Momoko, but she's a lot more shy about it. Between the two of them, you're surprised Yuuki is lasting this long.

"Oh, well the power is time control, as far as I can tell." You inform him, waddling over to where Momoko has him pinned, on your knees.

"You're kidding..." He asks, amazed. "The Time focus?" He asks.

"I know for a fact, because I," you stand up, "am from THE FUTURE!" You announce.

"Really!? Are there jetpacks in the future?" Momoko asks, wide-eyed.

"Probably." You shrug.

"That's incredible." Yuuki says, enthralled in this discovery. "The Time focus was one of the most valuable of those we held. Royale herself kept it segregated under lock and key, unwilling to even bind it to anyone. Even if I looked it up, I doubt we'd even have any real data on it." He explains. The thought occurs to you that maybe they did get data... just not in this timeline.

"Well, since it can send me back, if you don't end up liking it, we can just reverse and stop you from binding to it in the first place." You suggest.

"I don't think we should be that trivial when messing with time, Makoto." Yuuki advises, genuinely concerned. True, too much screwing with time could mean some bad things. There's no guarantee that you could jump back again anyway.

You calmly place a hand on Yuuki's shoulder, smiling as happily as you can.

"I think you should have it, Yuuki." You tell him, firmly believing it. "When it comes down to it, I believe you're the most trustworthy person when it comes to these powers. Especially for something this dangerous, I need to have an absolute faith in the person that will wield it."

"Makoto..." He mutters, looking up at you in awe and disbelief.

"I also think you should keep the dress on." You add at the end.

"Makoto." Yuuki replies bluntly.

"If only for long enough to pose with me for a picture." You ask, clapping your hands together in a plea. His eyes narrow and he glances away, still holding the thin gown above his head. Slowly, but surely, he starts to lower his arms until he places the gown back on his shoulders.

"Maybe a little while..." He mumbles, clutching one of his arms. You smile and pull off his pants, causing him to squeal. Momo tumbles back, laughing.

"They were ruining the look." You tell him in a factual tone as he continues to glare at you. For the next few minutes you take out your phone and snap a few pictures with Yuuki. You, in your school uniform and fox features, and he in a darling nightgown. At first he seems hesitant, but slowly you see a smile start to grace his face, until he's posing with as much exuberance as you.

"Aww, you two are adorable." Shun says, peering around the door. Yuuki flinches and buries himself i the blankets as Umeki and Shun sit down in the room. "Aw yeah, pictures! Show us!"

"I'm getting these framed~" You giggle, flipping through the pictures for the two of them. Umeki calls the two of you 'precious' more than once and Shun alternates between laughing and 'd'aaw'ing.

You briefly wonder if you should tell Umeki about her initial bind with the focus. You've given it to Yuuki, but she presumably still doesn't know. However, as if on cue, you hear him.

"A-Alright. I'll do it." You turn your head in surprise to see him holding the orb. "I mean... for something this dangerous, I have to take responsibility

Strange that he doesn't bind on an initial touch, but as you watch him you see that only one hand is holding the orb, and even then only by the tips of his fingers. Maybe being an android he requires a better connection than a pure human, or maybe it's just difficult altogether? In whatever case, both Sen and Momo look elated by this but hold their tongues. Shun and Umeki have no objections, and you already gave your blessing.

"Okay." You say, crossing your arms. Yuuki nods and gulps, holding the orb steady. His other hand clamps down and you see him press the orb to his chest, clutching it firmly. Rather than the instant with Umeki, it actually takes a while to see any reaction here, but when it starts, you prepare for that same plume of light. Everyone is instantly blinded by it, but you know better, and manage to see his body consumed with light. He turns slowly; and you actually see the outline of his metallic frame for a little before it disappears.

"Aggh, what's happening!?" Shun grunts, trying to regain her vision as the light fades. Again, you see his body embraced with a bright, energy hue; his hair pulsing with a pinkish light. His eyes are filled with static and his mouth is open- just like Umeki. You purified the focus before, but this is still a lot of energy flying around. It could still be harmful.

With the arcane energies swirling before you, your concern for Yuuki rises higher and higher. There's no telling exactly what could happen if he transforms- it might not even get properly with his metallic parts. If you were to grab him, touch him right now you could reverse it, but where would that leave you but an inordinate amount of time in the past. You only went back a few minutes, but what if you went back days- weeks- years even!? You hadn't considered it before, but you really know nothing about how this works.

"Yuuki, are you okay?" You ask the swirling mass of energy. As with Umeki, it moves if it was always in that position- maybe it's even rewriting time so that actually is the case, or is just pausing it. Either way, it's really unnerving to look at. He's not responding either, dammit, if you could only get inside his head you-

"Wait..." You DO have a way of getting inside his head. You turn your attention to Sen; sitting nearby with a stern look, and eyes of a magical hue. She's doing it already! You frown and move over to her.

"Sen." You say, firmly. She shivers and shakes, blinking until her eyes return to normal.

"I-I wasn't doing anything to him!" She claims, shrinking in your presence. You ignore her pleas and just calmly speak.

"I need you to connect with Yuuki's mind. Find out if it's going alright, and tell him to be calm." You ask of her.

"Y-You want me to go inside his head?" She asks, incredulous.

"If it'll help, please." You ask her, showing your concern. She nods and looks at Yuuki, her eyes lighting up again. It isn't long before she speaks again.

"He's really scattered right now, but that's normal when this kind of thing happens." She tells you.

"This kind of thing?"

"Oh, uh, awakening." She clarifies. "I always used my powers to calm them down when they underwent one. I can do that now, for him."

It's not exactly purification, but you can tell that he's not erupting into the same level of huge energy and light that you usually see. Keeping his mind and emotions in check, not that bad a way of dealing with this, as it turns out. Finally you hear Sen sigh and the light fades, leaving Yuuki in its place. Well, not exactly.

Still roughly the same size and shape as Yuuki, the girl that now sits there in that negligee bears some distinct differences from the brother you remember. For one; his hair reaches the floor (similar to your own) but sports streaks of silver instead of the black. It's almost chrome or metallic in look. Yui'll probably think he's trying to look like her. Apart from that, the same slender features and petite looks sport his form, even with perhaps a subtle chest.

The biggest change you'd say is the outfit; something Yuuki would never wear, it's a long flowing gown with shimmering reds and pinks, along with gloves and thigh boots. Aww, he's even got a little clock in his hair as a pin! How cute. Overall it's not actually that different from your own magical girl outfit; albeit the pinks are lighter and whites are more silver, probably as a result of the nightgown actually.

Dammit, now you want thigh boots and shimmering stuff.

"Mnn~" You hear him mumble in a higher, feminine tone. "Ma... Makoto?" She, as you suppose is more appropriate right now, asks, the flowing gown beneath him shimmering in the light

Now properly solidified and in control of herself; the newly christened magical girl Yuuki is primed and ready. She seems hesitant to look down at first, but she can't resist for long, as her eyes droop further and further. She rubs her fingers together, feeling the material of the gloves, and attempts to stand, only to stumble and fall to her knees.

A 'so cute!' there and a 'amazing dress!' here and she's already trying to bury herself under blankets. You much prefer this kind of binding, rather than the chaos of Shun's first time. "Sure." You tell Sen, running a hand gently across her head. "Take all the time you need."

"Mhm." She nods, avoiding your gaze.

"Oh, but just to make sure she doesn't 'awaken' at school, do you think you can keep an eye on her?" You ask, gesturing towards Yuuki. "I mean, unless you think him suddenly turning into a girl would be exciting~?" You ask, wondering if that elicits any reaction from her. To your surprise, and joy, it does; and she blushes.

"I-I'll make sure!" She says, shutting her eyes and balling up her fists as she raises her voice. You're not exactly sure what she's going to make sure of though...

"We don't have time for this, just- here!" You say, pulling a uniform out of your bag and handing it to Shun. "Just take one of mine." She grasps it and looks at it for a little bit.

"Hehe, okay." She mutters, taking it outside. "Might be a little small though."

"You can change into your own later!" You shout at her, pushing her out of the room and back to Umeki's- the miko herself in tow. At your urging, Shun changes fairly quickly and you all step outside. True to her assumptions, your uniform proves itself fairly small on her broader body. Thankfully this is one situation where having a smaller chest actually comes in handy.

You stand outside with her, waiting for Umeki to escort the girls (and you do mean girls- Yuuki's still fiddling with his own transformation, but thankfully still has his male uniform) down to the bus. You feel Shun's arm loop around your waist, grinding her body against your back.

"Mnn~ Shun c-come on, we're already late." You tell her, actually resisting a lewd advance for once in your life.

"Hey, settle down. Unless you were planning to attend as little fox-Minako?" She asks, nibbling at one of your fluffy ears. You twitch and realise you hadn't taken those aspects off.

"T-Thanks..." You mutter as you shift back to your regular uniform.

"I'm just saying, might not be the best thing to skip today." She advises the two of you, cracking her back and sighing. "My bones always get stiff on days like this. Means something bad is coming." That's... weirdly cryptic.

"Makoto!" You hear Umeki call out from the base of the hill as the bus arrives.

"Ah! Nevermind, come on, Shun!" You say as you tug her along. She groans but ultimately following suit of you, leaving the maiden behind. she continues sweeping the path, watching the two of you leave.

"...just what are you planning, Peps?" She mumbles to herself, a catlike smile adorning her face. "You won't last much longer in 'that'. How exactly is the Void going to save you?" She starts walking back up to the shrine but stops and glance back down at the bus.

Finally used the blank focus. I had it planned as Time for a long while, along with some ideas for Yuuki that I WILL get to use, yay!

for Sen she is super op she is super good in a 1v1 fight but not 100% victory but in group conflicts she is much less strong.
as for time powers that depends on what he can and cant do if for example it is just a controlled slow down or spread up effect that wouldn't be to bad. Even a limited time freeze can be fine. but all that said time reversal even at a low level is super broken and parallel time stuff and future sight are heard to game. I hope Q thinks it through but i trust him.

I've already gone over this, but it's an overpowered concept, not in practice. Sen's power can be mitigated by having two people attempt to punch her in the stomach, and Yuuki has no idea how to use any time powers currently. It's not exactly The World and that guy from Bleach that everyone hates.

I won't give people an undo button. I only did it here because both the players and I myself was somewhat unsatisfied with the random result of who got the focus. In-universe, it was only possible when they were initially binding and literally made of energy.

It might be minor spoilers, but two of the time powers I was considering were being able to tell the history of an object by touching it (Yuuki: Makoto's old skirt? ...OH GOD.), or halting all motion in an object, then compressing the lost time to make it move incredibly fast. There are other things to do with Time.
