You are Jareth, Disciple of Elshhu, all fuelled up on mana and ready for another exciting adventure. At least you will be when you meet your adventuring party in a couple of hours. You roll out of your reasonably priced and insect-free bed, which is really the best one can hope for in this district, stretching your muscles. Your sister is dozing away in the bed next to yours, sprawled flat on her front with one arm hanging over the side, mumbling to herself incoherently.

Opening the shutters to peer out at the thin sliver of sunlight filtering down between the buildings, you'd say you've probably got a couple of hours before you're supposed to be meeting Valia, Iden and Razi, enough time to eat and head over to Glimmer Street with some time to spare.

You nod to some passing guildsfolk on their way to work, gawking up as you standing before the window in all your naked Elshhuan glory, giving them a few moments to take it all in before they hurry on by.

You turn away from the window, running through your usual morning routine of exercises, personal hygiene and a quick prayer to your goddess to make today a good day. By the time you're done, Rihara still hasn't woken up, girl sleeps like a rock.

>Wake up the sister, ask if she wants to join you on adventure

Leaving Rihara to sleep a little longer, you head downstairs to acquire breakfast. You glance around the bar area as you step off the stairs. No sign of Cerily and Ven, just a few scattered gangers and other criminal sorts having a morning meal, and a couple of drunks still sleeping off the night before.

You spot Gurby in conversation with some orc woman in what can only be described as a smarter version of orcish traditional dress, half of the armored plates switched out for silk fabrics, and a lot less spikes and skull iconography. Looks like whatever they're discussing is pretty important, so you flag down one of the woman wandering the bar cleaning tables and ask her for two breakfasts instead, preferably without any mystery meat in them.

Some time later you're provided with two bowls of stew, you gulp yours down in the hope that it might give it less time to connect with your tastebuds, but sadly it still leaves the lingering flavor of charcoal and... moss, maybe? It's how you'd imagine moss tasting anyway. Hopefully after a few more successful adventures you can upgrade to fancier surroundings.

Scooping up your sister's bowl you head upstairs, finding her still snoring away. You place the bowl down on a side table, leaning over your sister to whisper in her ear.

“Good Morning, Rihara.”

You are, as you have been many times in your life, thankful for your carefully honed reflexes, as a crackling fist swings past your face, missing smacking you in the jaw by a scant margin.

“Whu-?” your twin mumbles with that early morning eloquence you remember from your childhood, flailing blindly and getting herself tangled up in her sheets.

“You're looking as cute as ever,” you comment, helping to disentangle her as she groggily comes to her senses.

“'f course I am,” she yawns, sweeping hair from her face as she sits up, dressed in yesterday's shirt. Your poor sister did say she left everything behind at the chapterhouse, you suppose that includes a change of clothes.

“Brought you breakfast,” you smirk, handing her the bowl. Rihara nods, blinking sleep from her eyes as she starts spooning out the stew, making a voice of disgust in the back of her throat as she gulps down the first mouthful.

“Too early for breakfast.”

“Some of us have important things to do today, like socially acceptable violence and grave robbing,” you shrug, sitting down on the edge of your bed.

“Sounds fun.”

“Of course, excitement, adventure, good company. I figured you might like to join me.”

“Mmh, I dunno,” Rihara yawns. Looks like it's still too early for her brain to be in a decision making state.

You mean first or second week of playing with her.
Besides, I think she'd be too reserved and cute to want to do multiple partners, or experiment with someone other than Jareth, considering he'll be the one who introduces her to the whole shebang and has a whole fucking mountain of knowledge and experiences he could spend months on and not get to the end of.
We still need to beat Rihara specifically in eating pussy, tbh, maybe open up with that next time we meet Ven and get her to rank us compared to Rihara?
>>
>>40901531
And then there's draping a sweaty makeup smeared pale necrobutt over ourselves when our sister marches in shout that we've got a new mission.

Either bolts of Eldritch energy will fly or she'll jump out of her skin in embarrassment (necrobutt that is)
>>
You reach over, wiping a drop of stew from Rihara's bottom lip with your thumb, you remember all too well how much your sister suffered from the brutal early morning regime of your younger years, she must be loving the chance to sleep in. Still, she has very little money, and adventuring would be a good way for her to earn some and let you keep an eye on her.

“At least come meet my party. If you aren't more awake by then, I'm sure we can find you a corner to curl up in.”

“Fine, I guess it could be fun,” Rihara yawns, passing you the empty bowl as she clambers out of bed.

You set it aside, helping your sister through her morning routine until she's woken up enough to do it on her own, well aware that time is ticking away. Rihara frowns, pulling up the collar of her top and sniffing at it.

“Ergh, shouldn't have just tossed these aside yesterday, I smell like sex.”

“Relax, they'll probably just think the smell's coming from me,” you smirk, scooping up the bowl and heading downstairs, your sister following along behind.

Looks like the orc woman's done talking to Gurby by the time you reappear, now sat in the corner of the inn flicking through some heavy leatherbound book. Sadly you have no time to appreciate the statuesque greenskin however, and leaving Rihara's bowl on the counter you head out into the street.

It's a warm, sunny day, promising many more to come with the rainy season just past, and the pimps, drug-pushers and assorted criminal scum of this cheery district are making the most of it to ensure that business is booming. You spot a few guild council enforcers wandering around, but most are too corrupt, lazy or incompetent to bother enforcing anything round these parts.

Brushing off a few dealers, pickpockets and freelance prostitutes likely less than a week away from a Pleasure Guild beatdown you make your way back out to Toad Street and from there to the bridgeway. Before too long you're breaking off from the constant flow of foot traffic and out towards Glimmer Street, which is already wide awake and enjoying heavy business by the time you arrive.

It looks like you've still got a little while to kill before you're due to meet the party. Which means you do have a little time if you have anything else you want to do around here before you get to work.

You figure you have time to kill, so you may as well do everything you can in that time. You start off by swinging by the quest board. Let's see, clearing rats, rats, more rats, and clearing rats... Ratcatchers Guild won't like that. Moving on, you look at a few of the others on display.

Some guy dropped his lucky coin down a dry well. Apparently when he got someone to lower him down on the rope to look for it, he found the well linked up to an old tunnel, the coin gone, and footprints leading away. The pay is surprisingly generous, two hundred gold, guy must be wealthy, desperate, stupid or some combination of the three.

Aside from that the only other thing you see on the board is work clearing out a gremlin infestation in some abandoned corner of a nearby district. Pay is one gold per gremlin, and an additional ten if you can prove you have removed the entire infestation.

Moving on from those, you wander down the street to the information trader shops, after haggling around in a few of them you think the best price you're going to get is from some twitchy old man name Venbrich, which starts at 10 gold and goes on up from there for increasingly valuable information. He is heavily hinting at having some good stuff on offer, but of course you have no way of knowing whether or not that's true until after you pay.

“Sorry Venbrich, another time,” you shrug, the twitchy information trader glowering.

“You'll be back,” he snaps, pointing a bony finger at you as you leave.

“Well yeah, I probably will.”

“Oh, well, good, I'll see you then.”

Rihara glances back over her shoulder as you walk away, Venbrich having gotten distracted by haranguing another adventurer who happened to pass too close to the front of his building.

“Guy's got a few pieces rattling around upstairs, huh?”

“Sadly Rihara not everyone can be as well adjusted as we are.”

“That's a tragic thought,” Rihara smirks, as you push open the door to the Bellicose Swan, stepping inside.

As your eyes adjust to the relative gloom of the tavern's interior, you look around, it's fairly busy given the early hour, adventurers drinking, planning and counting out loot. You see no sign of the redhead thief and her party, but you do spot Isea busy gathering up empty tankards from the tables. Looking around further you spot an outstretched arm being waved at you, belonging to Valia, who is beaming at you from across the room. Seems she isn't holding any sort of ill-will over the whole drunken fondling thing.

“Friend of yours?” Rihara asks, as the pair of you start picking your way between tables.

“Adventuring comrade.”

“She's cute,” Rihara grins, in a tone of voice you recognize all too well.

“Ah ah ah, I called her first, hands to yourself.”

“What're we, five. You can't call dibs.”

“Can and have. I'm not saying you can't EVER have your turn, just not before me.”

“Lame,” Rihara snorts, flashing Valia a smile as she pulls out a chair and sits down next to you.

“Hello Jareth and... um, I- I don't believe we've met.”

“Valia, this is Rihara, my only slightly less adorable than me sister. Rihara, this is Valia, a very talented young sorceress who I have been adventuring with,” you smile, sitting between the pair and wrapping an arm around both of their shoulders to pull them in close as you give the introduction.

“So, any sign of Razi and Iden?” you ask, releasing Valia and your sister, the sorceress having turned a little red from the impromptu affection.

“Um, no, not yet... I'm sure they'll be here soon.”

You sit at the table making smalltalk with Valia and your sister until Isea happens by, the barmaid giving you a smile as she gets to work cleaning the table next to yours, bending over just enough to give you quite a show.

“Morning Jareth,” the barmaid chirps, glancing back over her shoulder.

“Morning Isea, how's life,” you grin.

“Well, yesterday was a very good day... but you knew that already. Today, who knows, nothing exciting yet. How about you, these friends of yours?”

“One party member and one sister who may soon be a party member, waiting on the rest of the group so we can get started.”

“Ooh, nice, you got anything exciting lined up?”

“Eh, something about tracking down a lost lucky coin for someone named Pencelle, but I don't know if we're taking it yet.”

“Pencelle? That guy's always losing stuff, and every time he's back here again whining about it and tossing around big sums of gold. I shouldn't complain, it's good business, just...”

You raise an eyebrow at Isea's silence, the barmaid frowning.

“...well, it's just that every time he posts a job, we lose adventurers, once we lost well over a dozen before they found some lost paintings for him. He's good for the money though, if you live.”

“Huh, thanks for the heads up. Don't suppose you've got any other leads on quests?”

Isea glances around, spotting Hook busy serving drinks to some other adventurers, he must know them because he's chatting away with a smile on his face you haven't seen before from the miserable barkeep.

“Hmm, I shouldn't, Hook hates us giving out freebies, but since it's you, I guess it would be okay if I just happened to mention one or two. There's some guy named Quinter, apparently he found a map to an old tomb and he's been looking for folks to go crack it open and get him something out of it, you'll have to find him yourself, but I'm sure if you ask around someone can point the way. The other thing I heard about recently was some acting troupe hiring for folks to go down into the lost Blackwarren district and recover some lost play script from the theatre there, I think the troupe was called Cloak Art or Cloaked Arts or something.”

“Thanks Isea, you're the greatest,” you grin at Isea as she finishes cleaning up the table.

“Just don't let Hook know I told you, and if you want to thank me some time, you know how...” the barmaid smiles, brushing past you as she heads off to another table, giving you time enough to get in a subtle grope.

“G-goodness, so many quests to choose from, I was feeling bad about not finding any myself, b-but I guess you didn't need my help,” Valia beams.

Don't give Warlord ideas, you faggot.
To be fair, it would make sense, if that cult wasn't looking for more followers.
Plus, getting sacrifices would be easier in a different way.
Then again, "Yeah, sorry, that's on me, lost four guys to you-know-who last week".

“The tomb job sounds good, it'll probably pay the most in loot, but let's wait until the rest of the party get here to decide.”

“Y-yes, let's,” Valia nods.

“Did you get those books you were after?” you ask, killing time as you wait for the missing pair.

“Oh, um, no, not yet. I had some things to do yesterday, so I didn't get a chance. I'm going to go right after today's adventure though, before someone else buys them.”

“Hmm, and what kind of things were keeping you busy, something fun?” Rihara asks, leaning forward and resting her chin on her palm as she just short of leers at Valia.

“I never said it was fun, just... just family things,” Valia mumbles, her brow knotting a little, there's that frustrated look you've seen once before again.

“Family things, huh, yeah, we know how that is,” Rihara chuckles, giving you a sideways glance.

Boy do you ever know how that is. You rest a hand on Valia's shoulder, giving her a smile as she looks up, the tension fading from her brow.

“Jareth, Valia, hi, sorry we're running a little late,” a familiar voice speaks up from behind you, and you glance back to see Iden and Razi, the siblings looking as pale and ghostly as ever.

“This idiot burned through all his mana yesterday, stayed up late meditating,” Razi sniffs, taking a seat.

“Yeah, all on me, sorry... uh, Jareth, you know there's a girl version of you sat next to you, right?” Iden raises his eyebrows as he takes a seat, giving your sister an awkward smile.

“Oh gods they're breeding,” Razi sighs.

“We're not breeding,” Rihara retorts, perhaps a little too forcefully, guess she's still thinking about yesterday.

“I don't think that's what she meant. Anyway, this is my adorable sister Rihara, Rihara, this is Razi and Iden,” you smile, gesturing to the siblings.

“Jareth, you sure can pick your party, huh, they all look very... capable,” Rihara smirks, hungry eyes drifting between the pair.

“W-well, I can see she takes after you,” Iden coughs, a slight blush lighting up his pale cheeks as he looks away from your sister's lecherous gaze.

“So why is she here?” Razi asks, meeting Rihara's smile with a characteristic glower.

“I was thinking she might like to join us on our exciting adventures, I can vouch for her skills, and her charming personality,” you explain.

“W-well I think more party members would be fun,” Valia beams.

“Yeah I don't mind having a bit more backup,” Iden nods, still failing to meet Rihara's eye.

“Outvoted again, great,” Razi sighs.

“So how about it Rihara, looks like you've got a place in the party, if you want it?”

“Ah heck, I'm not saying I'll come along on every adventure, but I'll join up with you when I've got the free time,” Rihara smirks, giving a melodramatic shrug.

“Please, you have nothing but free time, you layabout,” you snort, earning a punch on the arm from your sibling.

“Right, well then now that that's out of the way, what're we going to do today? Anyone got any leads?” Iden nods.

“Ah, Jareth has three,” Valia chirps, perhaps to draw attention away from her not having any, or perhaps because she's impressed. You could hardly blame her for the second of those options, of course.

You run through the three potential jobs with the party, who listen silently until you're finished.

“Okay, so, first off, does anyone disagree that the lost coin job is dodgy as all hell?” Iden asks, to a round of affirmative silence.

“Tomb job,” Razi states, no surprise there.

“Yeah, I'm going to agree with Razi on that one, it's kind of our element,” Iden shrugs.

“Ah, I... I think the theatre job sounds rather fun, I've read about some of the plays that happened at Blackwarren before it... well, you know. It was quite a cultural icon of the Regent Era, King Emorbian the fourth personally visited it on several occasions and...”

“Yeah, an old theatre sounds less gross than a tomb, so my vote's on that,” Rihara shrugs, cutting across Valia's expository response.

Looks like the final vote is on you, this is becoming something of a tradition.

“Yeah, rent ate up most of our gold already, I could do with some more,” Iden nods.

“Boy can't wait to meet all those dead people,” Rihara sighs, though from the slight smirk you doubt the complaint is all that serious.

“So we need to find this Quinter guy then, how?” Razi asks.

“Split up and ask around?” Rihara asks.

“Um, maybe we should stick together,” Valia mumbles. You get flashback to your last information gathering attempts, Iden, Razi and Valia weren't exactly talented at that aspect of adventuring as you recall.

“Okay, let's split up and ask around. Rihara, you go with Razi and Valia, Iden, you come with me,” you state, rising from the table.

“No arguments here,” Rihara grins.

“We'll meet back here soon. We need to find out where Quinter is, and any other info you can dig up on this guy and the job would help too,” you explain, gesturing for Iden to follow as you head outside to ask around.

“So, uh, any idea where to start?” Iden asks, glancing around the busy street, the slender necromancer stepping back as a group of heavily armored types swagger by.

“I figured we'd just start asking people at random and see what we turned up.”

“Great, I mean, I don't think I'll be much help here, but you've got this, right?”

You sigh, slapping a hand down on Iden's shoulder. “You, my friend, need to have a little more confidence. You're a good looking guy, you're good in a fight, you're obviously smart enough to learn magic, what've you got to be worried about?”

“Well... thanks. I'm just not great at dealing with people I guess. Living people anyway,” Iden frowns, which makes him look a great deal like his sister, you can't help but notice.

“You'll learn, just follow my lead and do what I do,” you smirk, stepping out into the street to start your random campaign of harassment for information.

“I wish I could do what you do,” Iden mutters under his breath, most likely intending it to be too quiet for you to hear. Poor guy, he really doesn't know what he's got to work with. Sure, not every woman is into the whole prettyboy thing, but enough are that he should never lack for attention, and that's just female attention of course...

(cont)

>>40905056
You spend some time asking around, and Iden does seem to be making an effort, albeit with how quiet his voice becomes as he loses his nerve he's not having much success. Still, bugging a few passing adventurers, passing traders and others you manage to acquire directions to an antique shop a few streets over which Quinter apparently owns. Sounds like he trades mostly in pre-Goblin mainland artifacts, which is a pretty lucrative business these days, that should mean he's good for some decent coin.

“So, that's that right, we've got what we need?” Iden asks, looking a little exhausted from the intense social interaction.

“That's everything, unless you want to stick around and ask more questions.”

“No, no, definitely not,” Iden sighs, shaking his head.

Smirking, you lead the way back towards the tavern, looks like you walked up the street quite a way.

“I've got to say, I'm surprised you decided to stick with me, I figured you'd be, you know, with one of the women, or two of the women.”

“Not like I could leave Rihara alone with you,” you shrug.

“I... I hope you know I'd never try anything with your-”

“It's not you I'm worried about, Iden,” you chuckle.

“Oh, well, I... I see, your sister's quite something, huh.”

“Let's just say we were a bad influence on each other growing up,” you smile.

“No kidding. Still, you could've gone with Valia, Razi would've shut down anything like that pretty quickly. Just, you know, I figured that was more in line with your interests.”

“Eh, maybe next time, this was a time for manly bonding,” you grin.

“Manly bonding? You sound more like a Gaborian priest right now,” Iden sighs, shaking his head with a slight smile.

“I'm nowhere near oily enough to be a priest of Gabor. Besides, Elshhu approves of many kinds of manly bonding,” you shrug.

“Many kinds of... uh, what?”

“For example, helping you to gain the confidence you need to spread Elshhu's tenets of free love and sexual fulfilment. Stick with me my friend, and you will get all kinds of action!” you proclaim, clapping a hand on Iden's shoulder and pointing a dramatic finger up into the sky, earning a few odd looks from passersby.

Iden does his best to shrink away under the attention, making a subtle attempt to wriggle free from your hand.

“There is no reason you could not be living a full and exciting Elshhuan life,” you explain, bringing your hand down to point at a young woman hawking good luck charms at a nearby stall.

“You see her...”

You swing it across to a dusky skinned dark elf woman all dressed up in black leathers engaged in a quiet conversation with a comrade off to one side of the street.

“...and her...”

You bring it around to a willowy blonde directing some workmen as they carry crates into a magic store.

“...and her. There is no reason why you, my friend, could not get any of those women. You simply have to have the confidence to follow your dreams.”

Iden groans, placing his face in his palm as numerous people stop to stare.

“Thanks, I think, but can we please move on now, before I can never show my face around here again.”

Smirking, you release his shoulder, the two of you heading back towards the tavern once more.

“You didn't kill anyone, did you?” Iden frowns.

“Ignoring the fact that you went straight to murder as the first possible reason, no, I just recommended some good locations for them to shove their order sigils when I dropped out,” you shrug.

“Okay, good,” Iden nods, the hard edge fading from his eyes.

You let it pass, seems like there's a little more to Iden than just a pretty face and crippling social anxiety. It's enough to make you wonder if you should be asking him whether his history is going to be a danger to you and your sister instead.

“...can't imagine you as a Sunbringer,” he smiles.

“Neither can I, and I was there,” you reply, stepping back inside, spotting the other trio already back at the table.

“So team, info, what did you find out?”

“I found out more about proper cunnilingus technique than I ever wanted or needed to know,” Razi glowers, fixing a bitter glare on you.

“Your, um, your sister paints a very vivid picture of things,” Valia mumbles, the sorceress a bright shade of red.

“We found out where the guy was, and we had some time to kill, so I was sharing some of my wisdom with my two new friends,” Rihara grins, leaning back in her chair. She truly is your sister.

“It's a valuable life skill for sure, but, and I can't believe I'm saying this, we have things to discuss besides oral sex right now.”

“Yeah, we found out where the guy is too, over on Prince Brenovan's Lane, right?” Iden chimes in.

“That's what we heard. Ready to go?” Rihara asks, glancing over at you.

“Okay, let's go,” you nod, the trio rising to join you as you head back for the door. As they all step outside, you catch Rihara by the collar.

“Cunnilingus technique, really?”

“Ah, I'm just messing with them. Too much?”

“If you ever want to stand a chance with any of them, you might want to tone it down from dirty old man to flirtatious.”

“Oho, so I'm allowed access to your exclusive harem now? I'm flattered,” Rihara smirks.

“Rihara, my dear sister, if you ever want to join my exclusive harem, you only have to ask,” you smile, Rihara freezing for a few entertaining moments, cheeks flushing, before snapping out of it and slugging you in the arm.

“Not what I meant, you weirdo. What about Iden? Or is he part of it too.”

“Haven't decided.”

“Well alright, then don't complain if I make my move. Guy's like the embodiment of everything I was missing out on in the sisterhood.”

“Just take it easy on the poor guy or you'll give him a panic attack,” you sigh, pushing Rihara out of the door to join the rest.

It's a relatively short trip from Glimmer Street down some side streets to Prince Brenovan's Lane. The lane is relatively quiet and restrained compared to Glimmer Street's more anarchic atmosphere, most of the people here ranging from comfortably wealthy to stinking rich, or at least looking like they are here on the behalf of such people. Most of the stores along here are art shops, antique shops, even some authentic white kingdom tea shop.

It doesn't take you long to find Quinter's shop, despite how unremarkable it is. You push open the door, a small bell sounding, prompting an aging half-elven man to appear through a doorway in the back, dressed in an almost painfully understated outfit.

“Hmm, yes, can I help you?”

“Good morning, Quinter, is it?”

“Ah, yes, Quinter Macaberios, charmed I'm sure,” Quinter replies, rubbing a perfectly clean looking hand on his pant leg before extending it to you to shake.

“Jareth, we came here to inquire about a job you've been offering, recovering an artifact from a tomb.”

“Oh, oh yes, excellent, I was hoping another group might show up soon, the first group proved rather disappointing I'm afraid.”

“Disappointing how?” Rihara asks.

“Hmm, oh, well they cracked open the first two chambers of the tomb, then gave up. I am relieved that I didn't make the mistake of paying them anything in advance,” as you extract your hand from the slow, forgotten handshake.

“Well rest assured Quinter, you will find our group to be a far more reliable one. I don't mean to boast, but we do have a one hundred percent success rate on previous adventures,” you smile.

“Ah, well that is impressive. I suppose we should get the financial details out of the way first. Let's see, provided you can acquire the object I require in good condition, I can pay you two hundred and fifty gold, as well as another fifty for each item on a secondary list I provide,” Quinter explains.

“Just hypothetically, given how long it might have been down there, will you still pay if we find the item and it is not in good condition.”

“Ah, well as long as it could be restored, I am willing to offer half of that amount for it. If it is completely beyond repair, I'm afraid the contract will be void.”

It's a good price, you think, although that depends on just how dangerous this tomb actually is. I mean, you have heard about tombs that are just plain old tombs, no traps, no monsters, nothing... Okay, you may have heard of that once or twice, maybe...

You let the mana flow through your veins, bringing an intangible glow to your features, a calming warmth to your voice.

“If the main item is destroyed, can we still collect on the secondary items, or does it cancel the whole contract?”

“Ah yes, you can, sorry for not making that clear. So, do we have a deal?”

“While we are more than happy to carry out this contract, given the potential danger and difficulty involved, and the careful handling that will be required on this quest, I would suggest that a slight increase in pay might be required.”

“I don't know about danger and difficulty,” Quinter frowns.

“The previous group you hired gave up on the job, which suggests the potential for serious danger. I'm sure you understand that greater risk entails greater compensation, as it would no doubt be in your line of work.”

“Well, you... you are right, Mr Jareth.”

“Therefore, I think that an extra hundred would be a feasible but fair increase.”

“An extra hundred? That's an awful lot.”

“You are paying for quality after all.”

“Very well then, but no advance, you'll get paid when you bring the items back to me and not a moment before.”

“Of course,” you grin.

“Right, where was I, lost my train of thought. Oh yes, the items I was looking for,” Quinter nods, opening up a desk drawer and pulling out a scroll, unrolling it on the counter.

You look down at the scroll, it's old and yellowed, but you can clearly make out some Neburian letters on it, though you have no idea what they mean, not being an ancient languages sort of guy yourself.

“The tomb is of late Neburian origin, one of the final additions to the necropolis that predates the founding of Adruat. Errm, what I'm looking for is the burial mask of a Neburian astronomer named Rohtan.”

“That's, um, that's not a Neburian name,” Valia pipes up from the back of the group.

(cont)
>>
>>40908401
“Ah, yes, you are quite correct. Rohtan was not Neburian, he was from one of the western tribes, rose from the rank of slave to a widely respected scholar and astronomer of the Neburian sacred court. A lot of dubious rumors or dark magic and human sacrifice surrounding him, but of course that was most likely a result of ingrained racism against the 'savages' of the west so common in Neburian civilization.”

“So the mask is going to be on his body, I assume?”

“A fair assumption, yes. We are most fortunate that such a significant find has not been plundered already, fortunately during the Age of Grey Skies the portion of the necropolis beneath these districts suffered severe subsidence and much of it was lost beneath the earth. I, ah, recently discovered from a friend of mine that they uncovered old tunnels leading down to it while excavating out a... a dungeon, for a local brothel. Having verified the carvings, I can confirm that this is indeed the tomb of Rohtan, and as far as I am aware, Rohtan should still be buried in pride of place in the tomb.”

“Question, why use adventurers, surely one of the guilds would be willing to...”

“I have reached an agreement with the brothel owner, and have a buyer lined up. I would like if you could be as subtle as possible on this job, please.”

In other words, he wants to cut through the potential inter-guild red tape, catfights and potential fallout before the big players find out the tomb is even there. Despite his dull looks, the guy's got some guts, you'll give him that.

“No problem, what about the other items?”

“Yes, the other items are all grave goods which should be buried with Rohtan or in the surrounding chambers. His telescope, a map of the constellations imprinted in bronze, and the mummified remains of his pet cat.”

Well that all sounds straightforward enough. Unless you have any more questions.

“That's everything,” you shrug, and Quinter nods, rolling the scroll back up and putting it back in the desk drawer, pulling out a less archaic sheet of paper in its place.

“I took the liberty of preparing some rough sketches of the items in question for you to take with you. The brothel in question is called... The Curious Troll, on Dun Street. If you speak to madame Gunrelda she'll be able to direct you to the tomb's entrance. Good luck,” Quinter explains, passing you the piece of paper with the sketches, and a hastily scribbled map to the brothel.

You ferry the group outside, leaving Quinter to do whatever it is he does in that customerless shop all day.

“So, that's that, everyone ready?”

“Not just a tomb, a Neburian tomb... yeah, I'm a little excited, I'll admit,” Iden smiles.

“This is exciting. Despite the wealth of Neburian history beneath the lowest levels of Adruat, very few people in the great city ever get to set foot on the ancient streets of the necropolis, or... or even know it exists,” Valia beams.

Looks like this has got the more academic members of your party very excited anyway, Rihara gives you a look of apathy as Iden, Valia and even, on occasion, Razi, descend into a historical discussion on Neburian culture.

“Robbing a Neburian tomb, now that's some classic adventurer stuff,” Rihara smirks as she falls into step alongside you, leaving the trio to their chatter.

“It sure is. So what's your bet on, undead, cult, or ancient magical horrors?”

“I'm going to say undead, got a good feeling about that one.”

“If you've got a good feeling about undead, then Razi and Iden are already starting to rub off on you.”

“They are more than welcome to,” Rihara grins, and you roll your eyes, elbowing your sister lightly in the side, prompting a snort of laughter from her.

>>40909391
Following the near illegible directions, and with a couple of detours as you mistook instructions on them, you somehow find yourself before the Curious Troll brothel, decorated with the image of an inquisitive troll with finger raised to lips surveying a wide array of upturned backsides of various races and colors.

“We'll follow your lead in here, shall we, I'd imagine you know brothels better than we do?” Razi asks, giving you a sideways look.

“Please, I don't pay for sex, that would be disrespectful to my goddess,” you sigh, raising your arms into a shrug as you open the door. You are met on the other side by a distinctly non-curious looking troll with a heavy cudgel.

“Ten gold overhead charge, drinks are extra, employees are extra, hurt an employee in a non-consensual situation and I stomp on your face, any questions?”

“None whatsoever, I believe Madame Gunrelda is expecting us.”

“Oh yeah, you the special party she was waiting for. Hold on,” the troll grunts, bending to lean through the doorway to the main room.

“Hey boss, got that special party you were waiting for,” he shouts.

“Fool, customers can't keep erections with you hollering like a drunken lout,” a gravelly female voice replies, the troll flinching as a burly female troll squeezed into a tight dress pushes him back into the entrance hall and steps in behind him.

“Sorry boss.”

“So, you're the adventurers, eh, well come on, come on, this way. You want to spend some coin first, high quality services to appeal to any tastes here? I'll even give a discount since you're here on business,” Gunrelda starts, leading you through a incense-scented room of plush seats and scantily clad men and women chatting with customers, though some appear to be doing a bit more than chatting.

(cont)
>>
>>40909411
Despite the name, this looks like a remarkably upscale establishment, nice furnishings, healthy-looking employees, reasonably respectable looking clientèle, the Pleasure Guild must be doing good business on this place.

“Tempting, but our employer seemed rather eager to get this done,” you reply, smiling at a trollkin girl in a very short skirt as she sashays by.

“He's a colorless sort that Quinter, no time for fun,” Gunrelda sighs, pushing open a door at the back and stepping inside, gesturing for you all to follow as she descends a flight of stairs.

“We were expanding the premises, since business has been so good, when we broke into some old tunnels. Now I'm no fool, I know what happens if you go poking your nose around in places like that, so I had them brick it back up, started making enquiries about someone scouting it out. Then Quinter and I came to a deal and he sent some bunch of idiots down here, busted down the bricks and went to look around, then scarpered a half hour later. Lazy little wretches didn't even help brick it back up again,” Gunrelda explains, as you all step out into a large basement chamber, a hole in the far wall giving way to a tunnel of ancient, carved stone.

“Any problems from it so far, strange noises and such?” Iden asks.

“If there were, I'd have already shut down the premises and called on the guild to send some high priced team of mercenaries down there to deal with it. I'm not going to take any dumb risks with the lives of my staff or my clients,” Gunrelda snorts.

(cont)
>>
>>40909435
“Okay then, guess we'll be going, thanks Gunrelda,” you smile.

“Rather you than me. Adventuring is a messy business, and look at all of you, you could be earning a good stable income in a proper job, with guild protection and all.”

“The excitement and instability is half the fun,” you grin, the troll madame snorting derisively in response.

“Fine, get going then. But if you ever change your mind, I guarantee that if you asked for a job here, you'd be some serious earners, and the delving into dark holes would be of a more pleasurable variety to boot,” Gunrelda grunts, turning and heading back up the stairs, leaving you all facing the looming hole of the tomb, the only light coming from the lantern hanging from the ceiling of the basement chamber, at least until Rihara snaps her fingers and a burst of golden light illuminates the room, arcs of glowing electricity jumping between her fingertips.

So Jareth, how do you proceed from here, any sort of march order or plan for the party?

“Iden, can you summon up a ghost to scout ahead again?”

“Oh, yeah, sure let me just-”

“Not Worper,” Razi frowns.

“Fine, fine, not Worper, don't blame me if I start burning through mana too fast though,” Iden grumbles, stretching out a hand, a light mist congealing into the form of the ghost girl you saw before. Seffi you think it was.

“Hi Iden, woah, this place is kind of cool, huh?”

“It's a Neburian tomb, so yeah, it's pretty cool, you see those markings on the wall there, what those mean is-”

“Focus, Iden,” you sigh.

“Right, sorry, errm, Seffi, can you scout ahead, look for anything out of the ordinary, things moving around down there, and traps especially.”

“No problem, back in a bit,” the ghost chirps, drifting off down the tunnel.

“Razi, how far does your magic work from, could you detect bones from a distance, even if you can't see them?”

The pale necromancer girl frowns, bending her knees to place her fingertips on the cold stone floor.

“A short distance. If you were about to ask if there are bones near here the most detailed answer I can give is 'yes, a lot of them'.”

It's only a few moments later that Seffi appears out of a nearby wall at quite a speed, the ghost girl looking remarkably shaken for something without a physical body.

“Seffi, what's wrong?” Iden asks, a look of concern etched on his features.

“I scouted ahead a bit, but there is something seriously creepy in there,” Seffi whimpers, casting a nervous look back over her shoulder.

“Creepy how?”

“I don't know, I didn't see it, it was just really creepy. There's no traps in the two rooms ahead, but can I stick close to you guys from now on, I'll still scout ahead, just... just not too far ahead, okay?”

“Yeah, of course, that's fine, right Jareth?” Iden frowns.

“Sure, as long as you warn us when that creepy thing is getting close,” you smile.

>>
>>40910484
“Thanks, okay, let's go!” Seffi chirps, drifting a short distance ahead of you as you start off down the tunnel, Rihara behind you casting a golden light across the gloomy stone.

The tunnel gives way suddenly to a vast chamber, square pillars holding up a high, vaulted ceiling, the walls decorated with carving of Neburian gods and demons, the floor a faded pattern of colored stone. Even with Rihara's light, the chamber is still oppressively dark and foreboding, seeming to swallow up the golden light as it struggles to find purchase on the flickering shadows.

“Goodness, these are some incredible carvings, let's see... um... this refers t- to the fall of the false gods of old Neburian, the Crow-Masked Oracle, the Stone-Swimmer, the Scaled God, when they were cast down by the great prophet of the new Neburian pantheon at the start of the Neburian golden age of expansion... how thrilling,” Valia gasps, running a finger over a section of stonework on one of the pillars.

“Amazing, this is quite a complete account of Neburian imperial history and myth,” Iden nods.

You sigh, glancing around the chamber, Elshhu save you from academics.

“Anything else in here?”

(cont)
>>
>>40910497
“U-um, you remember that thing I was telling you about?” a quiet voice pipes up, and you turn to spot Seffi hanging back near the entranceway.

“The creepy thing? What about it?”

Seffi gulps, despite a lack of a body to do so, pointing a shaky finger to the far side of the chamber. You spot it, almost invisible amidst the stone, a shape half-risen from the ground, leering at you with dessicated features, a hulking primeval thing, a hunched head set between wide shoulders, long lanky arms and a skeletal torso sinking into the solid floor.

With a dry and dusty cackle, it sinks away into the stonework, leaving you momentarily frozen as a deep chill settles in your bones.

“So I guess that's our creepy thing.”

“That was... um...” Valia squeaks.

“What is it?”

“W-wasn't that the Stone-Swimmer?”

Well grand, seems that this tomb is home to the undead remains of a false god, you should've asked for more gold.

>>40910734
So as long as we don't try to solo 4 demons ourselves we should be ok?
>>
>>40910734
Just saw it, good to know. Some anons thought it was a vote over orientation. Guess they weren't aware Jareth fucked dudes

Would hitting on Iden have affected our relationship poorly?
>>
>>40910773
>So as long as we don't try to solo 4 demons ourselves we should be ok?
>Implying Jareth wouldn't leave 4 succubi drained and passed out
>>
>>40910783
Like I said. Want to get his confidence up before we fuck him his sister and ours in one delicious batch of double twincest. He really needs a buddy right now to get him on his feet and to get his cock into a girl.

>>40910849
>Implying Jareth would drain the servants of his deity?
>>
>>40910878
I was speaking more metaphorically, in the physical sense.
>>
>>40910925
Anon that same arrogance cost Ur badly. They're made for sex. We're just very good at it. We need quite a few more levels for that first.
>>
>>40910973
OK, so Rihara helps out.
>>
>>40910878
I mean, we can still do that while hitting on him. If anything telling him both sexes find him attractive would build his confidence more. Also, Iden could fuck a guy instead, seems narrowminded that he needs only to fuck a chick to do that
>>
>>40910993
Rihara is not even worth 1/4 a Jareth when it comes to sex.

“You are so lucky, getting to train with Lady Arastasia,” Borl sighs, pouting as best a teen boy with the whispy beginnings of an ill-conceived beard can manage.

“Yeah, lucky,” you grumble, prodding gingerly at a broken rib from yesterday's training sessions. Not that it will get you out of today's training, since she'll just have it healed up when you start.

“I mean, she's so awesome and strong and smart and beautiful and...”

The sentence stops mid-adoration, perhaps he's waiting for a prompt, a prompt you don't give him in the hopes that he'll lose interest in this conversation. Unfortunately your luck is as bad as ever today it seems.

“...and I was just wondering... you're her son, right, you've been with her your whole life.”

“It feels like several lifetimes,” you mutter, but at this stage you're fairly certain Borl isn't listening.

“...So, I mean, this is just between us, but... have you ever, you know, seen her naked.”

Oh, this is one of THOSE conversations, at least he got to it with a lot less stuttering and beating around the bush (heh) than Juliana did.

“Borl, I will make this very clear to you right now, you will never ask me questions about what my mother looks like naked again, or I will do something horrific to your wanking arm, understood?”

Gods know you don't need this fool reminding you, it's hard enough dealing with the daily sparring beatdowns and brutal regime without being reminded of the fact that the person doing it to you has one hell of a body.

“Oh, okay, sorry.”

Well thank the gods that's over with, leaving you with only lingering images of bare, tanned skin gleaming with sweat in your mind. You really are messed up.

“So... you know Rihara, you're her brother, right, you've been with her your whole life...”

You bury your face in your hands, abandoning all hope.

“Yes.”

“So you've seen her naked, right?”

“Yes.”

“...c-could you describe it?”

You think you can actually feel your soul dying a little inside.

Depends on how forceful you were about it right then and there, but probably not in that case unless someone voted for a very aggressive writein.

>>40910878
Fun fact. Elshhuan priests, as long as they have at least 1 point of mana, are immune to all sex-related threats, whether that be mundane diseases or supernatural curses or powers, including succubi life draining. Your mana is naturally developed in such a way that it counteracts the effects.
>>
>>40911099
Neat!

>>40911041
Now I know why Jareth is the way he is. Damn.
>>
>>40911099
Jareth. Locked in a sex-match for the ages to by the rest of the party time to find a way out of the succubus den. Loving that image.
>>
>>40911099
Why is the Elshuan priesthood not more popular? Is it because the priesthood tends to attract selfish, irresponsible assholes like Jareth's teachers?
>>
>>40911181
Pretty much, Elshhuan priests have a bad reputation of living for the moment, which means they have been known on many occasions in the past to lie, cheat, steal, and generally act like dicks.

Also because a lot of people get paranoid (justifiably so in some cases) about having a priesthood of men and women around who might bang their wife/husband/son/daughter/mother/father etc.

You do at least have a small temple in the district, it's kind of a dump, but many religions don't have one at all, so it's a step up from that.
>>
>>40911041
Is this a flash back to Jareth's youth, or is there a third sibling?
>>
>>40911276
Flashback.
>>
>>40911041
>You really are messed up.
I see Jareth wasn't exactly corrupted by his master, more like, discovered.
>>
>>40911364
There is a reason they picked him over the dozens of other potential apprentices Artor and Senta fucked while trying to find the one that had just the right stuff for an Elshhuan priest.

Will we ever find out how Jareth lost his virginity?
>>
>>40911446
You already did.

It was in the first end of thread post, at the end of thread 2. He lost it to Senta shortly after abandoning the Sunbringers.
>>
>>40911475
How pissed was Jareth's Mom when he left the Sunbringers?

If he saw her again, how fast would he run away? And is there anyone he's more afraid of?
>>
>>40910783

We were, I just didn't want to fuck Iden. we have the holy mission to turn him into a womanizer
>>
>>40911616
>How pissed was Jareth's Mom when he left the Sunbringers?
He wouldn't know, as he hasn't seen her since. But odds are on very pissed.

>If he saw her again, how fast would he run away?
He is well aware that trying to outrun her would be a futile gesture.

>And is there anyone he's more afraid of?
Not really, no.
>>
>>40911660
How hard would Borl be punished if a high ranking officer heard this conversation? If Jareth's mom heard this conversation?
What are Sunbringer official stances on relationships amd sexuality?
>>
>>40911888
>How hard would Borl be punished if a high ranking officer heard this conversation? If Jareth's mom heard this conversation?
Serious penance, probably involving extra drills and toilet scrubbing.

>What are Sunbringer official stances on relationships amd sexuality?
They don't disapprove of relationships, as long as they aren't interfering with ones duty to the order. Exactly what that means varies from chapter to chapter, but in general they prefer things on the more vanilla end of the spectrum.
