You wander through that field for who knows how long. The sun sets and rises, but you feel no hunger nor thirst, nor need for sleep. Only after a second sunrise in this field that runs forever, do you realise that you’ve been in your pajamas this entire time, the legs are dust smattered, and getting holes in them near the feet from all your walking and dragging them along the ground.

After another sunset, walking down the endless road through the endless field, filled with endless waves of short green grass, you start to wonder. Is the path even a good idea? On the very horizon on either side of the road, you can see hints of a treeline. Perhaps there lies a way out. Because it almost feels that this is merely like walking on a treadmill, a lot of walking, but making no progress.

Slinging your weapon over your shoulder, moved from it’s place as an unneeded cane, you run towards each treeline. Mysteriously, a path shows up exactly where you arrive at each treeline, wending through the woods and out of sight. Walking back to the road, you feel compelled to make a decision.

The one to the road’s right, you can hear….. trains? You think? Some sort of engine. To the road’s left you can see even less, but just feel… an aura of something. Your keyblade had twitched as you approached it, nearly jerking out of your hands. Ahead lies… who knows what? It MUST end somewhere, right? And of course, behind is- No, can’t stop to think about that for now, that only leads to more hurt right now.

Well the Keyblade hasn’t tried to steer you wrong yet, and with the pull it was giving you just a moment ago, it feels like the thing really wants to head off in that direction, whatever may be that way. Besides, with how long you’ve been awake there’s a chance you’re just crazy and imagined those weird train noises in your head, right?

Slinging the Keyblade over your shoulder once again after it’s little tugging you along session back there, once more you’re walking towards the unknown in a mysterious world that doesn’t seem to abide by the rules of your home.

Oddly enough, this path doesn’t seem to go on for forever, you’re not exactly sure how long you’ve been walking for, but eventually the green scenery around you has started to die off, giving way to a dry and cracked desert landscape, the sky overhead shifting from a pleasant blue to a dull orange. Despite the light that permeates the area, it still makes you uncomfortable, thinking of the darkness of the world you escaped from… and left Aqua in, Once the trees are completely gone, all you're left with is cliffs in every direction. You look back over your shoulder, but everything about your path to get here is gone, the trees, the grass, everything; you’re now standing on the edge of a cliff, facing forward.

Yelping, you quickly jump forward, away from the edge, fighting to keep tremors out of your hands. You dismiss the keyblade for now, and follow the only path down from this clifftop, heading forward.

It takes a few well timed leaps and bounds, things you’re pretty sure you wouldn’t have been able to pull off a few days ago back home, but you eventually manage to make your way to a level plateau. The wind gusts harshly here, pulling at your pajamas, the thin fabric doing little to keep you warm, but you still continue onwards. The plateau leads through a few under and overpasses, where in nothing accosts you. It almost feels like the entire world is empty here, nothing by silence in every direction…

Emerging from a short tunnel in a rock face, you see something that takes your breath away. An entire field of rock, embedded with…. thousands, no millions of keyblades, each one different from your own in their unique ways.

It’s a graveyard, filled with nothing but Keyblades.

You resist the urge to grab one, instead looking around the place. A bizarrely clear cut path divides the overwhelming number of keyblades around you into neat segments leaving a wide space to walk forward in.

It certainly makes it feel like you’re a lot less special, seeing all these keyblades here, your own held tightly in hand. How many people have ever held one? The way Aqua was talking, the number of active wielders now are extremely low.

This place feels like the site of some huge battle, malignant energy still courses through the air. You can even feel it in the ground, however faint. You do have to question though. Why are they all here? Were they fighting something else and all vanquished, or were they against each other?

You stub your toe, hard. You expect pain, but it’s little more than a faint thrum compared to the lightning bolt you took a few days ago. Glancing down, you see you’ve kicked an abandoned helmet, sending it skittering through the sand. Glancing around, you see a few more disassembled pieces of some bizarre armour, in orange brown and black. Just staring at them gives you a sense of even more overwhelming power. This one a lot newer, fresher, angrier.

The helmet starts to vibrate for a few second, and you hear a faint growl, before it becomes still again. You let go of the breath you’d been holding, until you see a familiar pool of inky darkness on the sand. Oh no. Aqua said shutting the door would stop them!

A cluster of those shadow creatures closes in on you, forming from the shadows the other keyblades cast, a few of the stronger helmeted shadow creatures among them even. You call forth your keyblade, thoughts linger for a moment on

Gritting your teeth, your thoughts flash to Tala and Ranos, remembering your friends and their last moments at the hands of these monsters before their hearts were stolen. The familiar sight of your keyblade once again coming into focus, yet… something inside of you feels like this wasn’t the only power you could draw on. Your memories of your friends are the strength you have to call upon, and there’s another that’s fresh in your mind.

You don’t have time to sit around and think this through, these monsters are going to try to take you as well if you don’t get rid of them now! You leap forward, bisecting the first helmeted foe in a single slash through its chest. A cluster of shadows all leap at you, but you swivel and duck under them mid-flight, coming up behind them and cutting four down in two swipes.

You go for a distance jab against another helmeted enemy, like some sort of fencer, the foe going down at a distance. Your instincts warn you that something’s creeping up behind you and you lash out with a kick to keep it at a distance, before, pivoting into an overhead slash, crushing the shadow in a single blow.

Five more cuts and you finish the rest off, you dismiss your weapon, gasping for breath, after such a one sided fight. Still… what are those things doing out here? Were they already on this side once the door was shut by you and Aqua or… did she end up staying behind for nothing?

No, you can’t allow yourself to think like that, you have to keep your chin held up high and keep on marching forward. What Aqua chose to do was probably the bravest thing ever, you aren’t even going to consider the idea that it might not be worth it.

Well, now that thats done with at least for the moment, you’ve got a chance to catch your breath before something else shows up and wants to make your life miserable again. The armor that was giving off that weird feeling earlier has your thoughts at the moment, it doesn’t feel like those monsters do, but the feel of Darkness coming from it is really strange.

Walking over to where the helmet ended up during your little scuffle with the monsters, you crouch down and pick it up in both of your hands, staring into the visor of the mysteriously pristine helm. It has to have been out here for years yet still looks like it’s brand new and freshly polished, unlike quite a few of the keyblades that are strewn about.

Your thoughts occupied by the helm and how it and the rest of the armor may have gotten here, you almost don’t manage to catch the whisper in the back of your mind. A soft, echoey voice that doesn’t really have any tone to it, or even enough features to identify a gender of it’s owner.

“Aqua… Ven… Xeha...Nort”

The words flow through your mind, and two of the words make you gasp in surprise.

“Aqua… Ven… Xehanort”

Whatever this thing is, it knows about Aqua! One of the boys she talked about too, Ven, Ventus, the other boy that trained alongside her and Terra when they were all still apprentices

The helmet buzzes ever so slightly in your palms at the use of the name, but doesn’t respond.

Wait a second… you fumble through your pockets for a few moments, before drawing out Aqua’s gift to you, the star shaped charm. “Do you recognise this?”

It jerks in your hands, tearing itself out of your grip and dropping like a stone to the ground again. “AQUA!...” It repeats. “Can’t….. protect…. Aqua.” With that, it lapses into silence, still again and seemingly just a hunk of metal.

Tucking the charm back into your pocket for safe keeping, you look the helmet over once again, whatever this thing is, it knows Aqua that much is for sure, did it belong to her or someone she knew?

Whatever this thing is, it’s probably really important in some fashion, you just need to figure out what it is you actually want to do with it.

I'm totally fine with Terra's willpower having a hold on us. He and Vasi seem like they'd get along fairly well if they could meet in better circumstances.

Once he stops repressing himself to the point that he's easy pickings for assholes like Xehanort. And about that, I've given some thought to Vasi using darkness. It always seemed like using darkness was more about giving into instinct and cravings more than it did 'EVIL', and this makes sense when you consider Riku's behavior/development. Vasi has a lot of impulses too.

So while it isn't evil, it clearly attracts the 'bad guy' types more than light does. Light does something like this too, what with Eraqus. They're both a bit like drugs, but darkness is worse from the start.

So long as we keep this in mind I think that Vasi using darkness would be fine, to a point. We just can't dive head first like Riku or get played like a fool as Terra did. Also, stay the fuck away from the Heartless cuz they're a whole 'nother story.

You stare into the neck opening, but again, the helmet is empty. “Well… what’s the worse thing that could happen?”

You scoop the helm up, take a deep breath and pull it down over your head. The dimensions aren’t quite right, the eye holes are much too far up for you to see much, and it smushes your nose painfully inwards, but you jam it down all the same.

Well… that was anti-climat- OH JEEZ!

Everything goes pitch black for a few moments, before the world reforms. It looks like the same place, but on a raised tower of earth, the keyblades embedded in the ground far below. Your whole body is clad in the armour that had littered the ground before, and before you stands a young man, hair white and skin dark.

Anger, Hatred, Rage, the feelings course through your very soul as you stare at the man through the visor of your helm, now fitted perfectly to your face. Forcing yourself up from the kneeling position you were in, the noise of your armor draws the attention of the man in front of you

“Your body submits, your heart succumbs… so why does your mind resist?” The man demands, flourishing his own keyblade. You brandish your own, this one colossal, heavy and powerful, and rush at your foe, as the tower is surrounded by an orange field of energy.

The body moves without you, faster and stronger than you’d think possible, meeting the foe head on, blocking, countering, performing strange magic feats, but the enemy is just as strong, his techniques matching yours, including the attacks where you lob balls of pure power at each other, the power of darkness.

It flows through this body that isn’t yours, being manipulated in all sorts of ways in an attempt to eradicate the foe that’s before you, and if it wasn’t for the fact that the man seems to be just as skilled if not more so in it’s use, there’s little doubt you wouldn’t be able to do just that.

This power is incredible, the darkness this body wields amplifies its strength. You can see the danger inherent in using it, but still…. the power it gives is something else, seductive and alluring, calling to the emotional wounds still left in your heart after Radiant Gardens was attacked

With a final surge of attacks from his keyblade, using the power of darkness to build further upon it’s own strength, the foe falls, collapsing on his stomach. The orange energy fades, and your head looks upwards, staring at the… that isn’t a moon. It’s shaped like a gigantic heart.

Just as you look up, clouds start to swirl in, obscuring it’s shape, then blocking it out. This body plunges it’s keyblade into the pillar of earth. With a flash of bright white, everything’s gone. You shut your eyes to block it out.

You feel a sudden rush of air against your skin, through your hair. What the-? You open your eyes, to find yourself soaring upwards in a steep arc, your legs positioned as if you’d just jumped. That can’t be right, you’re nearly eighty feet in the air….

Of course, the actual issue comes when the arc of the jump…. arcs. You fall, fast and hard, slamming into another plateau, you do your best to ease your landing, but it still it’s still not gentle in any way.

You tuck and roll, but end up sprawling out, crashing into a rock shoulder first, before landing on your back…. Everything hurts…. but still, that jump should have killed you, or would of, if your keyblade hadn’t made you more resilient. The helmet’s not on your head, you note, it would explain the whole wind in your hair thing, but neither is it any where in sight.
