I hear the door slowly begin to open, tearing my attention away from my television as I fight against my blanket to try and see who it is.

I manage to flop around and lean on the back of my too big couch made out of red leather. I see my bodyguard standing in the door way, looking bored as usual with his dirty blond hair covered by a dull grey beanie, accenting the scar that passes just under his eye and through his beard.

He smiles as he sees me, and walks in, flicking on the lights, making me wince and try to cover my eyes.

"Hello Moriarty" I say as he sits down in a chair in the corner of the room, taking of his gloves slowly "Why'd you come in so early?"

"It's morning Emily" he sighs turning to the tv "I think your mother said she wanted to see you today for some reason...what you watching there?"

I sigh, I better just see what mom wants to talk to me about, and most likely make me feel terrible and pathetic for the rest of the day. I throw my blanket off of me and stand up from my couch, taking a moment to stretch after I do so. Then again, I could really do with some breakfast.

I grab the remote and turn it on, quickly changing the channel to the news as I walk out the door, tossing the remote behind me as I step into hall way and walk over to the kitchen, opening the door and turning on the light.

I don't feel like waiting a while to eat, so I'll just get some cereal and milk. I grab the box of Crispy crunches and pour them in a bowl. I gently place it down on the table and hum the tune of the music the elevators play as I open up the fridge, ignoring all the pricey meats and vegetables, and grabbing the half full carton of milk.

I walk back to the table and carefully pour it in the bowl, before I sit down and quietly eat my breakfast alone as I hear the sounds of the tv in the other room, mostly shouting and the sound of metal bending.

I stand up and put the bowl in the sink, turning off the lights as I leave the room and walk back to mine. Moriarty is now standing in front of the tv looking a bit irritated. I see what looks like what was once a metro station, even though most of it looks melted now, also smoking.

"Sorry" I say quietly, knowing that he's going to have to walk here now, since i don't think he has a car.

He smirks and goes back to glaring at the tv.

I smile slightly and walk into my dresser. Hmm, what do I want to wear today anyways? Well It's pretty cold out and I might actually go out today, so I'll wear some sweat pants and a long sleeve shirt, I'll get a coat if I do go out.

I quickly get dressed, nearly falling over a few times as I do so. But I do get dressed.
I look at myself in the full body mirror, brushing my hair a bit to at least look a bit less like I just woke up.

I smile, well at least I look better then when I woke up at least, though mom will still say I should've tidied up more.

I wring my hands nervously as the music starts up again and we slowly move up the building, every time we pass a floor, a small ding plays, which doesn't do anything to help my nerves, at all.

The doors eventually open on my mom's office, which has two small streams running through it's marble floor, several exotic plants, a window that takes up most of the room, and a desk made out of steel or something.

And of course mom is sitting in her chair, smiling happily as she looks at me.

Something's wrong, she never smiles, despite the name.

"Come on, sit down, I just want to talk, it's not like I'm going to chew your nose off or anything" She says trying to sound cheerful

I shake my head quickly as I hear my mom take a quick breath.

I turn back around, feeling tired for some reason as everything starts to get...floaty.

I see my mother wearing a gask mask as the world starts to wobble and fade away. I hear someone running and then

Cold, why am I cold, and why can't I move, I start to struggle and thrash around as I try to get free of whatever is holding me down as my vision returns. I'm not wearing anything, the only thing keeping my modesty are two belts of leather strapped across me. I look up and see several large needles attached to large, scary looking machines with a dark purple liquid. Ultra...no nononononoooo.

I wake up screaming, one last shot of pain coursing through me as my eyes shoot open. and then I whimper as I feel how painfully sore all of me is, even my eyes burn for some reason.

I'm in a bed, hospital bed, hooked up to various machines that beep and boop. I'm also still not wearing anything, besides a paitent's gown I'm hoping, I can't really tell because of the blanket over me.

I can hear shouting just outside the door, Moriarty's voice, angrier than I've ever heard him, and another much controlled and calm voice outside.

Some soothing music begins to play as I hear the door open and see my mother walk into this nearly empty room, carrying a bag under her arms, smiling calmly as Moriarty glares at her like he's about to shoot lazers into the back of her head. the door swings closed and she sits in the one chair next to me, and smiles, almost apologetically.

"Good morning emily" she says running a hand through my hair, before frowning "Oh, your eyes have changed color, a side effect of the ultra maybe"

I open my mouth, ready to give her a verbal beat down, make her feel terrible about me with a long and well thought out speech, but all that comes out is a pained "Whhhy mom?"

"*hmmph*, Well" She says, like she's a reading off a chart instead of talking to her daughter she just filled with enough Ultra to make two teams of supers "You need to make something of your life, as your mother it hurt me to see you doing absolutely nothing, no drive to make your mark on the world, just lazing around doing nothing, so I did what any good mother would do, and got you a job"

I stare at her as she smiles, like she just saved my puppy from drowning, or actually got me a puppy, instead of saying why I shouldn't have one.

"Now, once you can get on your feet" She says "You'll go out and make a name for yourself, and don't worry, I've already gotten some costumes made for you, so you don't have to worry about that"

My first idea was more going full Tzimisce and warping our enemies into funny shapes and household furniture. Literally melting faces and such.

I try to sit up and punch her in the face, my arms shaking as I do so. I take a deep breath, and another as I try to take a swing and hit in the face as hard as I can, but all I manage to do is fall back on the bed, gasping in pain as I land on where the needles went in me. I moan in pain as Mom runs her hand through my hair.
