I remember learning to use a computer with civ 1. I also used it as a excuse to play telling my mom it was a educative game. I even modded it like only a kid would by rewriting the text files to change the name of the countries on it and such

I played them all, but honestly dont remember 2. 4 was nice, but im currently playing beyond earth. Im just pissed that i cant win any other way except by conquering everyone or having the most points at the end of the game.

And yes 5 got much better later on, much much better, but tbh it felt like they should have released the game like that instead of by small parts.

Well, it may have taken out a lot of roman emperors, but it doesn't looks like lead poisoning is a thing here. The dishes are porcelain, the cups and glasses are crystal, and the utensils are steel.

Also, it is a very nice kitchen, if somewhat smaller than we expected a royal kitchen to be. Then again, this is the king's exclusive kitchen, so it only attends one person.

The chef is the first majin we see doing something like manual labor. Well, he is a young man ibarely in his second century, which is quite young by the race's standards.

Apparently, he simply took an interest in cooking, and the king agreed to making him the royal cook since his "passing interest" gave him over 70 years of cooking experience.

"The king's meals are made by me alone" -says the chef.- "As befitting his status as the highest aithority in the land, he has no interest in anything but the finest meats. We have the servants scour the markets for the very best meats and fish every day. Everything is quite fresh and healthy, I assure you!"

Everyone is riding along with us on the rockit ship, which is, of course, a lot more comfortable than a giant wasp (the local mounts) when it comes to moving people in court regalia from castle to castle.

The royal palace at night looks as if the stone itself was glowing. The light blue stones shine with magical lights bouncing off it into the sky, and cover the top of the mountain with an icy, yet elegant glow.

The party hall is a platform on top of its own spire next to the castle, letting the starry sky serve as rooftor. The lights come from tall candle stands with magical lights burning away in silence... well, we are above the clouds here, so rain is probably not an issue most of the time.

Our friend says that he has to enter the hall last by protocol, so we move ahead of him and are announced in turn.

Eventually, the cryer introduces Alard and ourselves as heirs of the Coalition. We also have the title of duke in the heavenly empire but... its alright.

At least they introduced Lyann as lady, and our companion, so they are not as fixated on social class as we feared.

Once we mingle a little, Okaba makes his entrance, and of course, its easy to guess which nobles hope to ingratiate themselves with the heir apparent by the way they flock towards him and Aura.

There are only three exceptions. Well, from how he described them, it is wasy to guess two of them.

Those are probably his older brother and younger sister, Baako and Kya.

Baako looks almost identical to our friend, with perhaps some more years on him. He's just as tall. and somewhat wider of shoulders.

Kya is quite a beauty. Her skin is not as dark as her brother's which gives her a look similar to what we'd expect from a beach beauty or a very athletic girl, with a very healthy figure perfectly kissed by the sun.

"I would say it is" -suggests Okaba- "Do you want me to introduce you to the duke?"

We go with Okaba and meet with duke Tapiwa. He seems polite, but studies us with interest. Not to a degree where it would be rude, but he seems to measure us, and smiles as he decides that we are strong.

"A pleasure to meet you, young lord" -he says towards us, and then bows gently towards Lyann- "young lady." -then to the prince- "I heard his majesty threw a bit of a fit when you had his chef change the menu from now on"
"You heard correctly. My friend has different knowledge than we do, and he says that my father's illness comes from a wrong diet"
"Was he not eating the very best?"
"Yes, but apparently you need some foods more than others"
"I had never heard such a thing. Hopefully my old friend will recover soon. If you are right, I hope to see your father in the battlefield commander's tent soon enough"
"Even if he recovers to that degree, it won't be soon"
"Of course... how convenient for you, your highness, that he will declare you king within a month"

"Perhaps, but it is part of my job to defend the king against... everyone"
"Well, soon enough, it will be your job to defend me, then"
"True, true. If things continue the same, it will indeed be my job."
"I hope you do as thorough a job of suspecting everyone on my behalf as you do for my father"

The duke laughs a little, and nods.

"Indeed! why, I already think I have my eye on at least three conspiracies by now!"
"Only three?"
"Well, I only arrived a few hours ago"

The duke seems to take his duties very seriously, but Okaba does not seem offended by the veiled suggestion that he may have made his father sick long enough to be appointed as king, and then heal him to receive his support.
