You are Giles, Master Thief, lover extraordinaire, and professional saboteur.

Your job is still pretty much the same, that being Harth's spymaster.

After the siege of Searise began, you and Kuma snuck into the enemy camp after making sure the locals got to safety. There you caused a bit of chaos before going to have a chat with the man in charge.

You managed to find out that this whole siege was nothing but a distraction, and that the real threat was landing on the island. Hearing that, you disposed of him and set most of the camp on fire before making haste back to the island.

You arrived just in time to set a nice little trap for the would-be kidnappers. But when they arrived you saw Marcy close behind. When the rescue was completed, Marcy passed out.

But not before kissing you and making things awkward as hell, of course...

Fate has the odds stacked against you.
But then, you wouldn't be much of a Gambler if you couldn't deal with long odds would you?

You awaken as the first rays of dawn strike your face.

You don't want to be awake. You were up incredibly late last night finding a safe place for Selene and Marcy to rest, hunting down the rest of the would be kidnappers, and fruitlessly trying to stop your girlfriend's house from burning down.

You kind of wish Melissa was here. You could use some quality time with a girl who isn't either extremely awkward or six...

You sit up and stretch yourself out, surveying your current surroundings. You're in one of the rooms made available to evacuees from the island.

You and Kuma brought Marcy and Selene here last night, and you left Kuma to watch over them while you went to pick off the stragglers and see what else you could do to help out. You came back to find them piled up on the bed, so you took what little room was left over and fell asleep as soon as your head hit the bed.

"Heading out, Master?" Kuma asks.
"Yeah" You say. "I'd like to survey the damage and maybe have a few words with my father"
"Wait, I'll be with you shortly" She says.

Kuma struggles to get out from underneath Selene, and escape Marcy's grasp.

At this rate, she's going to wake everyone...

"No, you stay put" You say. "I'll be fine on my own, and one of us needs to stay by Selene"

Kuma looks like she wants to object, but after a moment asks "Is that an order?"
"Does it need to be?" You ask.
"No" She says. "I'll stay here. Should I bring Marcella and Selene to find you when they awaken?"
"Sure, just don't go waking them early if you feel restless" You say.
"Yes Master" She says.

You stand up and stretch some more before heading to the door. Looking back, you see that Kuma has settled back into the snuggle pile.

You smile. "Or maybe it'll be you that needs waking" You say before grabbing your cane and heading out.

Outside, the smell of smoke still hangs in the air. It's not as potent as it was last night, but it'll be a while before it's gone completely.

Well, at least you won't be smelling it for long. You hope to be away from here before the day is through.

You flag down a soldier and ask him where your Father is. He is glad to help. Turns out that he was a part of the evacuation force.

You head over to the garrison, where you find Pitre going over something with the commander.

"Good morning" You say.
"Good morning" Pitre responds. "You look tired"
"Right back at you" You say.
"You can;t have gotten much sleep" He says.
"I got enough to get some work done. If I need to I'll take a nap later" You say. "What's the situation?"

"The enemy's moving off" The commander says.
"Since when?" You ask.
"Well, they've been packing up since they put the fires in their camp out last night. They moved out at dawn" He says.

"They're probably headed on to the front" You say. "They were on their way there, before they took a little detour"

"Searise isn't a little detour" The commander says.
"It is if the prize is good enough" You say.
"The little one?" Pitre asks.
"Yeah. And their-... her plan almost worked" You say.
"Her?" The commander asks.

"Cassandra" You say.
"That's Cassandra?" Pitre asks. "Interesting..."

"You know her?" You ask.
"Well... nevermind. It's a topic for another time" He says.

"So aside from that, how are things going?" You ask.
"Well enough" The commander says. "Casualties were minimal, but not non-existant; and I suppose I have you to thank for that"
"You're welcome" You say.

"Most of the damage was caused to the buildings" Pitre says.
"How's the cleanup going?" You ask.
"Slowly" The commander says. "Most of the boardwalks burned through, and a good portion of the town will need to be replaced. Mostly the buildings out on the water"

You grimace. What he doesn't mention is that while that's all happening, a lot of people will be without homes...

"Please do" Pitre says. "I think Melissa will be in bad enough shape after hearing that this place was destroyed once..."

"Speaking of Melissa. Do you think her manor is in good enough shape to house the evacuees?" You ask.

Pitre thinks for a moment. "Most of it is probably too badly damaged" He says. "But if all you need is a roof over your head, then some areas could be supported so people could sleep there, at least. We'd have to send someone in to take a look"

You could take some time to do that... But you'd like to start making ready to leave. You said you'd make sure this didn't happen again, but it only happened because you were here.

You know, the fact that Laura has family (and is technically our cousin by roundabout logic, would be an important thing to talk about, and the way things are going it looks like Selene would make a far better Queen then Laura (who would be more fit to some military role than an administrative role), so its possible that Father Pitre would be able to rule temporarily until Selene comes of age. At least he'd have the right to do so.

Also guys, I've noticed something, we're on our way to doing the biggest caper the world has ever seen, We're going to steal Rodericks destiny. speaking of that, what if we stole his throne in the literal sense, wouldn't that make a hell of a statement, especially if it wound up showing up suddenly in Lauras room?

"I think I'll go take a look through the manor" You say. "You should come with me"

You give your father a serious look. "I insist" You say.
He seems to understand. "Well, I suppose I can deal with this later" He says.

"Family matters?" The commander asks.
"It would seem. I trust you can take care of the rest?" Pitre asks.
"I didn't get to be a commander by being stupid" The commander says. "Go on, we can go over the details of this later"

You and Pitre head out, and walk in the direction of Melissa's ruined manor.

"Is this about that woman?" He asks.
"You recognized her by face, and not by name; if I'm not mistaken" You say.
"I did" He says.
"How?" He asks.
"I was unsure, since she hasn't aged a day" He says. "But the name is the same..."

"Who is she?" You ask.

You and Pitre head into the manor. The place is an absolute wreck.

You and several other people worked for a long time to try and put the fires out, but even when they finally died down it was far too late.

Still, there are some areas of the building that are still serviceable, if not a little damaged.

One of the rooms that saw very little damage was Melissa's. It's still pretty burnt, but it's one of the few that still have a roof.

As you look around to see if you can find anything intact to keep safe for her, your foot goes through the floor...

You pull your foot out, and look down through the hole. It's dark, but you can make out a staircase...

Under Melissa's room.

Consider your curiosity piqued. You pull the board out, and find that it was a part of a trap door.

The stairs are dark, so you pull a torch from your cloak and light it with Ember Spree. Then you descend...

You recognize this picture. This is one that you and Klaus rescued from her old home in Tulia. This is-... was her family.

The other portrait is of Melissa again, but this time with a girl you don't recognize...

No, you do recognize that girl. You almost didn't. The long hair threw you off. It's Laura, though a few years younger.

"Why would she have these down here?" You ask.

Next up is-

The books seem to be dated, starting at around the time that she came to the orphanage.

You pick one at random, and open it to a random page. You read the first two words and slam it shut before you can read anything else.

'Dear diary' it read.

"These are... her diaries?" You ask. "Damn, there's a lot of them. She must have written every day"

You look over the dates written on the spines of them. Each one only lasts for a few months.

Something bugs you, though. Sure, these are private; but why keep them in a hidden cellar under a trap door?

You look over the dates again, and something catches your eye:

They don't match up.

"Sorry about this Melissa" You say.

A few of the dates on the books overlap each other, but one in particular stands out as the two books next to it match up. So what could it possibly have in it?

You pull it out and open it. There isn't any writing in it, only drawings. Detailed drawings.

Detailed drawings of naked women. Not just in 'model' positions either, most of the drawings are quite sexual.

Some of them are of women you don't recognize, but a good portion of them are of Laura.

"I get the feeling I would have been better off not looking at these..." You say. "Though I must admit that she has talent. Having seen Laura naked I must say: spot on, my dear"

You chuckle at your own joke, and put the book back where you got it. You know you should stop looking, but your curiosity has run away with you. You search the other books for another set of unmatched dates and come away with another book.

You open this one, and find that it is neither a sketchbook or a diary. In it is written a story.

You read the story, and quickly find your cheeks heating up. It starts out normal enough following a character named 'Maria' and her friend 'Catherine', but it gets very naughty very quickly.

You close this book as well.

"Okay. I can see why she would hide these away" You say. As accepting of others as you and apparently Father Pitre are, Melissa could stand to lose quite a bit if it these were found.

Best case scenario: She gets her titles and assets stripped from her for 'sexual deviancy'
Worst case? You don't even want to think about it. You've heard stories about the "treatments" given to gay people to turn them back. You wouldn't wish them on your worst enemy.

Well... maybe...

>[1/2]
>>
>>41610964
>It starts out normal enough following a character named 'Maria' and her friend 'Catherine', but it gets very naughty very quickly.

OH GOD, SHE WRITES FANFICTION
>>
You put the book back and look over the various boxes.

Music boxes, every last one. Each has a different tune. For a while you suspect that she might be hiding more things in them, but they do seem to just be music boxes.

You finish off your investigation with a quick look around the room, before sitting down.

It's safe to say that she is VERY lucky that it was you who found this room and not anyone else. Some of the townsfolk might have been willing to overlook this stuff, but you doubt they'd be as good with secrets as you.

It goes without saying that you need to do something about all this, and fast. You can hear footsteps upstairs, more than one set. If someone comes into this room, the first thing they'll see is the staircase.

You could maybe convince them not to come down here, but eventually someone will...

Well, this should make up for snooping at least. With the skill and precision of a Master Thief, you "steal" all of Melissa's hidden belongings.

"Is someone down there?" A person calls from above.
"Just me" You say, stowing the last of the diaries and moving onto the music boxes.

The steps come down the stairs. "Oh, Giles" Kevin says. "What is this place?"

"Melissa kept all of her music boxes down here" You say.
"Why would she keep them down here?" He asks.
You shrug. "I don't pretend to understand her" You say.

Because personally I prefer this.
>>
"You go on ahead, I'll be along shortly" You say.
"Okay" He says.

Kevin leaves, and you make sure that both he and the other person he was with are gone before going back to work.

You stow the rest of the boxes, eventually coming to one sitting against the wall that doesn't budge. You open it and look inside; finding a little lever hidden within.

"Really Melissa? You can do better than that" You say, flipping the lever. A small panel on the wall opens, revealing a small indentation filled with several trinkets.

These you also recognize. Not because you've seen them before, but because you know them by reputation.

"The Jewels of Elemeer" You say, holding them in front of you. You knew that Melissa had these, you didn't know where she kept them. She was frank enough to reveal that she only bought them to catch your eye, in the hopes that you'd come to take them.

"Well, here I am" You say, stowing the jewels in your cloak. She'll probably be wanting them back. You know for a fact that they cost her quite a bit.

But even though you plan to give them back, you are still technically stealing them. And as the Master Thief, you must leave a card.

But whose card do you leave?

While the pornographic material was mildy appreciated, and served to distract me momentarily. However, the written work was in bad need of editing. The drawings were top-notch, though.

>>41612691
Its because she's still crazy.

She tried to rape and later tried to kill Giles. Trauma doesn't excuse that.

As the same writer, if you try to creatively make a character out of thin air, you will often get a character concept based at least vaguely off of yourself, and often get the same character across multiple stories by doing so.

Most white women have no interest in black guys.

You fold the review up and put it in your cloak. No sense in leaving it here where she won't read it for a while yet. You'll send it to her using one of Kuma's birds or a courier later.

You give the room one more sweep, making sure that there's nothing in here that could get Melissa in trouble, and head back up the stairs.

Well that was an interesting little sojourn into your girlfriend's private life... come to think of it, if she's into girls is she still your girlfriend?

You get the feeling that your next meeting is going to be less hugs, kisses, and the touching of various body parts and more 'serious discussion'. Which is a shame, because you were kind of hoping to touch various body parts with her.

And by 'touch various body parts', you do of course mean have sex.

You sigh. It is what it is, you suppose.

You should get back to where you left the ladies...

You get back to the room, and almost walk right in.

But then you remember that the last time you did that to a room full of women, you ended up getting thrown out of the carriage. So you knock first.

"Who is it?" Marcy asks.
"Me" You say.
"Who's me?" Marcy asks.
"Just open the door Marcy" You say.

The door pops open, and Marcy emerges with a smile. "Good morning" She says.
"You seem awfully cheerful" You say.
"I am awfully cheerful" She says.
"What for?" You ask.
"I dunno" She says. "I feel lighter, and looser. Like something had me tensed up, but I let it go"
"Is that so..." You say.

"Papa!" Selene says, shoving her way past Marcy to give you her best flying hug.

You catch her, and hug her back. "Hey there, little one. You miss me?" You ask.
"Mmhmm!" She says. "Marcy was boring!"

"Well sooooorrryyyy for not being exciting enough" Marcy says. "But last time I checked, my job was to protect you, and not to entertain you"

Selene sticks her tongue out at Marcy and Marcy does it right back, before they both start laughing.

"Welcome back, Master" Kuma says. You can hear her, but not see her, as she's standing behind Marcy. "A few birds came in"
"Excellent, who from?" You ask.
"One from Pitre II, one from Laura, and one from my brothers" She says. "Which one first?"

By the way guys, as a gimmick and a propaganda method, what if we dusted off the brute for assassinations. We need to steal something or else its not a thief job. Stealing intel and shinies fits, especially since the general would try to stop us. A tent full of corpses and everything not nailed down stolen would do it.

In addition we can bring the critic in on it by hitting soft targets and citing peoples failure to pick the right side as a contributing factor.

You go inside the room and lock the door, casting silence on it as well before bidding Kuma to read the letter.

Kuma looks the letter over, and you can see her mind working. Come to think of it, if all of their letters are encrypted then it's pretty damn impressive that she's able to read them on the fly like this.

"He says that he hopes you survived the siege, and goes on to tell us all the things that the commander of that force already said. But it was him who ordered them to keep marching to the front, rather than rebuild their siege weapons and continue" She says.

"I see. Well I suppose thanks are in order, then" You say. "I'll have to write back to him. What about the one from Laura?"

Kuma once more decrypts the letter on the spot.

"Laura confirms that she's done as you requested, and that she had to physically restrain Melissa to keep her from recalling her navy. She also requests that you write back as soon as you recieve this, and tell Selene that she loves her very much" She says.

"Laura loves you very much" You say to Selene, who is sitting on your lap.
Selene giggles, happiness practically radiating off of her.

"And I will be sure to write back" You say, remembering the calling card still tucked into your cloak. "What about from the brothers?"

She once again reads the decrypted letter.

"Military infiltration has been successful, and we should be expecting more information from that front" She says. "As well, there is a revolt spreading in the north. For some reason the people are dissatisfied with their current leadership"

"Excellent" You say. "Is that all?"
"That is all, yes" She says.

Well then, time to get to work. What do you deal with first?

You hand Selene off to Marcy so you can get to work writing letters.

The first, you write to Pitre II. You thank him for his help, and then ask how his wife's doing.

You go over some other things you could add to the letter with Kuma, and then seal it and send it off.

Then it's time to write to Laura, and also Melissa. This one is a bit more difficult. Not the letter to Laura, as all you have to tell her is that you're alright and that Selene loves her too.

The letter to Melissa wracks your head, though. As you're not even sure you should send one in the first place. Is this the kind of thing you should be telling her by letter?

Moreover, do you really want to send her the calling card?

You pen up a letter for Melissa. You decide against sending her the calling card. You'll leave that for later, when you can both laugh about it.

You only write a few words: I cleared out the room under your bedroom. No one else got down there. We probably need to talk.

Then you fold it up, write Melissa's name on the backside, and give it to Kuma to add to the letter to Laura.

Then the two of you talk over what you can do with your assassins.

Now that you have spies in the military, and your assassins' attempts to stir revolt have been successful, you can reassign a few of them.

>Assassins
Have the assassins that started the revolt-

>[ ] Keep it up, make it spread

>[ ] Run interference, make sure it doesn't get shut down

>[ ] Join their brothers in gathering information

>Spies
Not all of the spies you had working on the infiltration got into the military, have the remaining ones-

>[ ] Work on infiltrating the Palace

>[ ] Continue trying to infiltrate the military

>[ ] Go to the neighbouring countries and gather support for your "rebellion"

Actually, switching to

>>

You decide to split the assassins. With the revolt having begun, it will spread. You'll have some of your assassins help it along, and the rest run interference with the local guards and military to make sure it keeps on spreading unhindered.

Your spies will better serve your interests outside of Laust. Your ploy to have Honoue join this war failed, thanks to someone on Harth's council. But that doesn't mean they won't join.

Surely they know that Roderick emerging from this victorious will mean bad things for them. They just need to be convinced that Harth is capable of winning this in spite of fate. If your spies can manage that, the combined military might of Harth and whoever else joins in would be, in a word: overwhelming.

With that done, Kuma sends off her birds.

"Alright guys, pack your stuff" You say.
"We're leaving already?" Marcy asks.
"Yep" You say.

"Why?" Marcy asks. "You don't wanna stick around and help them rebuild?"
"This place only got wrecked because we were here" You say. "So long as we stay here, it remains in jeopardy"

"Are we still going to Denton?" She asks.
"Yes" You say.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? What if Denton comes under attack?" She asks. "If Cassandra knows where Kuma's HQ is, she could know that we're going there"
"If Cassandra knew where the Brotherhood's HQ was, she would have done something with that info by now" You say. "Besides, Denton is a fortress with a compliment of some of the best fighters in Laust"

Marcy sighs.

"If we bump into a better option we'll take it, okay Marcy?" You say.
"Give me the map" She says.

You sigh and walk over to her, putting a hand on her cheek. "Come on, do you really think I'd let you guys come to harm?" You ask, gently rubbing her face while smiling warmly.

She blinks a few times, and then her face flares up and she turns away.

"Y-yeah! Sure. I'll just... go get my stuff" She says, standing up and walking out of the room.

A few seconds after she leaves, Kuma turns to you.

"Master, that was quite manipulative" She says.
"Give it a second" You say.

Marcy stomps back into the room.

"Wait a minute, you have all of my stuff!" She says.
"Then you're good to go" You say.

Marcy pouts, and you chuckle, walking up to her again and ruffling her short hair.

"Come on, I'd like to say goodbye to Father Pitre before we go" You say.

Marcy sighs, and follows you out the door. Kuma follows as well, carrying Selene.

"So we're really going to Denton?" Marcy asks.
"Yes" You say.
"Can I make a condition?" She asks.
"That depends on what it is" You say.
"I get hugs" She says, forcing the words out like they were somehow stuck.
"O... kay?" You say.

Marcy takes a deep breath, and then quickens her pace. "I'm going to go find a boat. I'll meet you guys at the shore" She says.
"Alright" You say. "I guess..."

"Marcella is acting strange" Kuma says.
"I agree" You say.
"Perhaps she is a spy" Kuma says.
"I don't think that's it..." You say.

Yeah, that's definitely not it.

The MC wouldn't start as a planeswalker. I've seen countless mtg quests on this board fail after the first thread, and without fail they always start with a planeswalker MC and last 1 thread.

This would follow a character through the events leading up to the ignition, then world shattering shenanigans.

I have a sort of system for the actual gameplay in the works. Needless to say, it's nowhere near ready.
