Lyann sighed as we left the room, saying she would stay and help everyone as they woke up.

She was more concerned with us actually doing our work properly without her or Aritsu to supervise us.

Walking over to the tree, we find Ami and Mai already waiting by its side, fully dressed in their "work clothes", so to speak.

Once we are all in the same party, we [Treestride] over to the manor in Mantequira, since we have our work notes and materials there.

Upon arriving, both shadows "go away" to leave us alone, albeit we are quite sure they are around still, just... somewhere.

The princess seems quite happy with our words, and pulls a pillow next to the table so she can sit next to us.

"Well, recently, we finished compiling an index with all the curses on these books by name, referencing on which book they are, Now, let's try to go by applications and uses."

"Yes, just a small paragraph or two should be enough. Once we are done with that, I'll copy down the index and start writing all the curses on these books into a single one"

The princess sits next to us, and takes one of the index pages, then starts reading the books they reference.
She feels small and cute by our side, her clothes exposing just a little bit of her neck and shoulders while she flips the pages on each book.

From time to time, a plate with cookies or a jug with fruit juice would pop out of the shadows unto the table.

Her concentrated expression is cute.
Its cute, so we lean over to smooch her cheek.

Well, we didn't got much (work) done. But we got a lot (of kissing) done. Seriously, however, we actually did get some done before a handmaid noticed us in the morning, and brought along breakfast.

Plums with honey are a strange but fun thing to eat. Watching Mako eat its a fun thing to do. The way she nibbles at her food... it reminds us of a rabbit, somehow.

After a while, we show up for work. Miss Yin seems quite happy to see us, then quickly prostrates herself when she notices Mako.

"Ah! fox lady!" -Mako gently caresses Yin's ears while our assistant waits for permission to rise....

...it doesn't looks like Mako is going to tell her to raise any time soon. She is happily petting her soft ears with both hands, caressing her face... it completely looks like a child and its family's dog, somehow.

Mako nods nods, and gently but in a surprisingly casual way, takes Yin by the hand and walks towards the work table. Miss Yin doesn't even has time to properly get up, and ends following after Mako in an awkward, sort of three-legged walk.

Ah, should we call Mako callous towards Yin's situation, or just innocent enough that she doesn't notice she's leading the fox girl around like a pet? Well, knowing Mako, its probably the latter, right?

"You sit here and help Eldric, alright? good girl" -she is talking to Yin the same way any child would talk to a puppy or kitty

"Good girl" -Mako says so as she gently caresses Yin's ears, and then sits down behind her to brush/play with her tails

She realizes we are not going to pull Mako away from her, and she can't really tell the imperial princess to GTFO so she sighs with resignation and tries to do her job as best she can.

Meanwhile, Mako has gone into brushing mode, and is having fun cuddlign with the tails as if they were a body pillow.

The noises Yin lets out from time to time are just too funny to pass on, so we're going to have to apologize later to her, but we're not helping her out of it.

Like that, time passes until we finally finish a work season as such.

By the time we are leaving the palace, however, Yin looks completely exhausted, for some reason.

"I will come back in two days"
"Ah, is that so?" -she sighs

While looking down, she asks if anyone's still there.

The sun is nice and warm as ot shines down on our assistant.

By the time we go back to Okaba's palace, it is already time for dinner. We scort Mako to the table and pull her chair for her, then sit down to enjoy our meal together.

That night, Mako sleeps soundly on her bed. She had a very big day.

I think complaining about this to Ren would be akin to self destruction. I can see Ren going "Clearly, this is unacceptable. With a sighs, she looks at Eldric as he keeps sleeping entangled on the sheets. She walks over and kneels by his side, poking his face softly.

"You idiot, don't you know I'll take it seriously?"
"Love... Lyann"
"You're so unfair, even when you sleep" -she says as she leans in to wake him up with lots of love.

Well, they somehow managed to clean the room, albeit Eldric teased her with leaving it to the maids, but she was much too embarrased about the evidence of their night live to do so. Which of course is why it was so fun to tease her like that.

"I am glad you accepted my invitation" -says Okaba as he welcomes us into his table
Aura bows slightly, sitting next to Okaba

The count is a thin but tall majin with deep bronze-colored skin, and short hair of white and grey, which gibes off a distinguished air. He is wearing elegant and light clothes with just a áir of bracelets as jewelry or decorations.

Unrelated, but while we wait for more votes, does the "Struday Lewd Thread" (If i remembered the name right) exists to post lewds of questhread characters, or is it just a thread for lewd stories of famous characters, ie, just for fanfics, or what?

The problem with the whole "Slave" class is that it's both a voluntary career choice that can be made and changed, as well as a social class that has negatives associated with it.

We, as in Eldric, need to keep in mind that abolishing slavery as a social ill should not affect having people choose Slave as a career choice to get access to certain Jobs as well as Class Abilities.

Aritsu is ours, and the Baron we had sponsored to be Sinoe's husband has turned out to be mediocre.
Their childhood friend, though, seems like he may make a good co-ruler.
Since we didn't go for getting both twins, as much as I wanted them both, he's probably Sinoe's second-best choice.
