As you walk over to bump fists with Chi-chi, King Chappa helps Mark up, carrying the man out of the arena. Chi-chi places her hands behind her head as she walks with you out. "Think we overdid it a bit?"

Before you get the chance to answer, Mark seems to come to with a bit of a groan. The young woman you met last night rushes to his side, along with his fellow students. As the man looks up, you hear him moan out, "Am I in heaven?"

The young woman smiles sweetly at him and plants a gentle kiss on his forehead. "Still on Earth, sweetheart."

Mark smiles back. "You sure? Because I see a sweet little angel."

"Maaark..." she replied in an almost faux-annoyed sort of giggle.

"Can't blame me for that one, Miguel." he laughs out. As you and Chi-chi get closer, the man seems to scoot back a bit, trying to make sure he's out of your way. The young woman clings to him a bit as she glares at you.

You look back at him. "Yeah. Did it a lot in the previous World Martial Arts Tournament."

He seems to visibly swallow his pride with a gulp. "Then... can you help heal my Master?"

In the back seem both a very defeated-looking multi-legged yellow monster and blue... lion thing with several... arms? Huh. You first let Pilaf know you're back, then your friends greet you, and Mark runs to his master.

"Y-you actually did it..." the man breathes out.

You both figure to look for any tells in case Tien and Launch go for their team attack. You also figure any strategy involving your Spirit Bits would be a good one, and utilizing healing while you have the chance would be smart. Trying to combo into the Geist Magnum would also be a good strategy, and if need be the two of you can rush an opponent with the Kaio-ken.

Your meditation is interrupted by a surprising voice. 'Maple Mahogany, are you available for the moment?'

Part of the thing I'm thinking of.

I have no artistic skills whatsoever and I'm still using "Trunks" as a base for the moment, but what I'm trying to finangle is mostly some facial markings to represent the Arctus half of the kid, with primary body style being saiyan.

Utilizing the Blue from Arctus' "Gems" in some way would be good.

Launch and Yamcha start cheering for him as well, but Tien stays silent. A calm, simple nod at his friend being all that he gives. Tao looks at you all curiously. "They seem to believe in you. But I know your doubts, Chiaotzu. Are you truly prepared for this?"

The pale boy takes a deep breath. "...I am."

"Good." Tao takes his stance, Chiaotzu doing the same.

"BEGIN!"

The two dash at each other, Tao starting off with a series of rapid strikes. Chiaotzu, however, seems to almost anticipate them all, to Tao's surprise. You can tell that while Tao may have more strength than Chiaotzu, the boy has speed. When he does counter, his attacks hit hard and true. There's a surprising amount of precision and skill to how the boy is fighting. Enough that Tao... starts to worry.

"You really might have what it takes, boy!" Tao shouts as he throws a strike at Chiaotzu, the boy catching it and jumping over him, landing a kick on the back of Tao's skull. "Grrhh... Yajirobe!"

"KRILLIN! LIKE WE PRACTICED!"

Right as the samurai boy enters the fray, Krillin kicks him in the gut, then quickly charges up a Spirit Ball and flings it at Tao. The mercenary attempts to counter it with a Dodonpa, only for the sphere to move out of the way. Chiaotzu appears behind him, an extremely powerful Dodonpa of his own charged up. Krillin's Spirit Ball then seems to merge with the charging attack. "HYPER DODONPA!"

A truly massive blast comes down at both the surprised Tao and still recovering Yajirobe, Krillin skillfully dodging aside. As the beam seems to engulf the two opponents, Chiaotzu quickly takes his place in the waiting area. Both his opponents are down, and Krillin is still up.

"...5...6...7...8..."

"U-ugh.." Yajirobe grunts, trying to stand, but collapses. Tao seems unconscious.

"9! 10! Tao and Yajirobe are defeated, Chiaotzu and Krillin advance!"

The crowds go wild, Chiaotzu barely able to believe it himself as Krillin approaches. "Nice job, partner."

Using an energy attack as a diversion and using it to supercharge Chiaotzu's Dodonpa was really clever. No obscuring explosion or any chance of knocking Tao out of the way, plus it gave Chiaotzu enough power to charge up his attack and line up his shots to hit both of his enemies.

I'm honestly surprised that Chiaotzu can appropriate energy like that. Usually you see people merging beams and stuff for combo attacks, but actually "eating" the spirit ball for an extra boost isn't something that you see every day.
