Mal'ir pilots the ship around a short shoal, and there in the middle distance lies the village. Whooping from the fishing boats is carried from the first to spy you back to the village, as the two nearest row up alongside the small vessel,Emma pressed up beside you on the right, Djanna gazing out over the water on your left.

"Follow! We will lead you to safe harbor." One of the hunters stands in the boat, raising his arm in greeting. You smile and wave at him in return, Djanna looking back to yell the directions at Mal'ir. Emma presses in tighter against you, her tails twitching. An hour later, after careful manoeuvring, Mal'ir's ship sits at anchor alongside the dock, moored tightly. Sylea and Baltas argue amongst themselves as you're all led to the Elder's home, through the open door.

Once inside, Cain approaches his father and embraces him tightly, the old man smiling.

"I knew you would return to us." The Elder says quietly, slapping his son on the back. Cain nods, pulling back, unable to meet his father's gaze. The elder looks up at him, his smile falling. "What is... wait, where is Kiva?"

You look down at your feet, your heart catching in your throat. You feel Sylea lay a hand on your shoulder gently, Djanna take your hand in hers, and Emma slip her arm around your waist. You hear the sound of the villagers gathering in behind your small group, at the doorway.

"Father... Kiva died fighting the dragon. His honor was restored, and he deserves his place of honor."

"NO!"

You turn suddenly, and in the center of the group you see a tall woman, long black hair cascading down her shoulder, a shark-fang charm around her neck. Tribal tattoos encircle her shoulders, and long scars mar her upper arm. Her blue eyes are wide, staring straight at Cain in a mixture of pain and rage.

"Who... how... how did he die, Cain? Tell me!" She bounds away from the group, stalking toward the young man with a clenched fist.

Oh hey, I'm still behind all the smut I owe but you'll be pleased to know that I have finished the GRA scene. When I've finished the YRA bestiality/femdom and URU exhibitionism/edging scenes I'll wrap them up in a pastebin and throw it up in whatever thread I can get to.

P.S. I've got a half-baked finished HarpyQuest smut-pie here. Anybody want to read that or would they prefer it in it's respective thread?

"Vela... he w-"

"I'm sorry!" You blurt out, head bowed. The elder, Cain... all eyes turn to you. Cain chews his lip, looking ocnflicted. The Elder's face has settled into a hard mask. The young woman - Vela - looks at you carefully.

"Sorry? What do you mean, stranger?" She turns to you, laying a hand on her hip. Her simple garb, a thigh-length pseudo-toga, tied at the shoulders, does little to conceal her form. Or her muscles.

"I... it's my fault! I killed him!" There is no gasp, no sounds of shock save some surprised murmuring from the villagers. The Elder clenches his jaw, but the girl's face takes on a look of serenity. Her eyes remain depthless as the sky, but threaten the coming storm.

"How. Why." Her voice is calm and quiet. Cain moved to step beside you, but the Eldger gripped his shoulder, stilling him. You spill out the story, about how you encountered Djanna changed, tried to heal her, and lost control of yourself. How Kiva tried to "save" you from what he thought was a threat - you suspect, anyway - and how he caught the fury of the sun god's wrath. Vela,s eyes widen and then narrow as the story progresses, before her head bows and her shoulders tremble.

"You beat him... you... just beat him to death after he tried to help you..." You remain silent, and in a heartbeat she's on you, pinning you down with her fist pulled back. Emma squeaks in surprise and begins gathering flame into her hands, Djanna hissing and reaching out to grab.

A snarl from the head of the hut stills all movement.
>>
>>41856013
"ENOUGH! I will not have this violence within my home, within our village! There are rules! There are laws, and they will be observed!"

Vela glares down at you, sorrow, pain, and fury in her expression. She slowly, tremblingly climbs to her feet and stalks to the door. The people gathered outside part before her, like a school of smaller fish before a shark. She stops, hand on the doorpost, and looks back over her shoulder.

"I challenge you, outsider. If our laws do not punish you, I will have satisfaction by tradition..." And with those words, she dashes off past the onlookers.

Emma and Djanna help you to your feet, the kitsune fussing over you. "Are you all right?"

"Nadia... I'm sorry, but I must ask you and your friends to remain for now." The Elder takes his seat once more, Cain helping the old man to sit. "Please, if for no other reason, than to help settle Vela's heart..."

You nod agreement. Emma looks ready to object, but Djanna lays her hand on the smaller girl's head and ruffles her hair, silencing the kitsune. The Elder nods, sighing as if suddenly tired. "You will remain here then. We need to gather the headmen and prepare. Cain?"

He nods and moves for the door. He whispers an apology as he steps outside, shooing away the crowd. "Back! Back to your work, you gulls!" Only a few of the villagers move at his urging until the Elder repeats the command, and they all scatter back to their tasks.

"So this is your sister?" The Elder nods to Djanna, and you nod in return. A ghost of his smile returns to him. "Lovely to meet you, child. I am glad to see you unhurt." Djanna looks down at you, then nods to him with a grim look on her face. You move beside his firepit and take a seat, an uneasy silence between the four of you. Emma moves to curl beside you, pressed close to your side. Djanna takes a seat opposite the old man, on your right.

"Djanna, this is the Elder of the village. Elder, this is Djanna... the dragon Kiva thought was attacking me." The Elder raises a brow, regarding Djanna's scales briefly, then the nubs of her horns with dawning realization.

"Oh! I see... then she wasn't attacking you, and Kiva mistook it?" You nod.

"He almost killed her." Emma adds, frowning. "He was probably just looking for another troph-"
>>
>>41856616
"Emma, hush!" You snap, wincing. The Elder waves it off.

"And perhaps he was, Emma. Kiva was always a troubled soul. He thought that a man's worth was in his prizes, in his prowess with a weapon. In another time, he would have made a good headman. Peace has no place for the warrior, and they find this hard. Wherever his soul now wanders, I hope it finds purpose." The Elder sighs and stares into the crackling flames, banked low against the heat of the day.

There is quiet for a time, when Djanna speaks. "How does this work? We plead our case, then we leave? And what was that about a challenge?"

The Elder heaves a low sigh and rubs his brow. "Ah... that. Vela wants to fight Nadia. There was - is, really - an old tradition of single combat between people with dissatisfactions that the laws couldn't placate. A way of quieting the heart of somebody aggrieved. It has not come up in some time."

You flatten your ears against the top of your head. The tips of Emma's tails flick as she turns her eyes to the Elder. "Fight? Her?"

Mid-tier in quality, you could drop the 's 'cause like the goggles they do nothing, and you could've honestly expanded on it by having her rip his pants off and go down on him. Really I was mildly disappointed in you.

Didn't even notice how often I used 's. Need to remember that for future scenes.

"If it will make her feel better... but I don't wanna hurt her. It's not t othe death, is it?"

The Elder quirks a brow, looking at you appraisingly for a moment. "Do you want it to be?"

You shake your head vigorously, eyes wide. "No! No, no! Why would you-" His grin quiets you, and you pout.

"We don't either. Remember, this was brought about as a way to settle feelings, and let people get on with their lives. I think killing somebody would cause more hurt feelings than it resolved."

You nod, Emma looking up at you incredulously. Djanna simply sits cross, legged, intently focused on the discussion. "How does it work?" you ask. The Elder shrugs.

"It's simple. Before witnesses, the aggrieved party states their problem, you stand and announce yourself as the accused. The headmen question the accuser, and then you fight."

"Then... is it to first blood? Knockout?" Djanna interjects, drumming her claws against her knee.

"That is a difficult question to answer. Typically, it is for the catharsis of the accuser. The headmen will stop it if it goes too long, or if it looks to be too dangerous. Typically, it is until one side can fight no longer."

"This sounds barbaric..." Djanna mutters, looking to you worriedly. The Elder scowls.

"Maybe so, to an outsider, but our ways have long worked for us. Nadia is already one of us, and her strength is unquestioned. She will have no trouble with this."

The dragon seems unconvinced. Emma simply wraps her arms around you, hugging you tightly and nuzzling up under your chin. "I'll claw out her eyes if she takes it too far..."

You're not sure how you feel about that, honestly, but you hug Emma back all the same.

The shuffling of feet announce the arrival of the other headmen, and they filter into the room slowly. Some greet you gladly, others simply nod. All look questioningly at Djanna. The Elder nods to them.

"Men... we have before us a difficult night."

The moon hangs low overhead, the silvery light drowned out by the ring of torches. You stand in a rough circle of sand, ringed by flat stones. The headmen sit atop each, the Elder sitting above them, looking down at you. You Emma and Djanna sit beside him, witnesses for the accused.

"Nadia of Foulbreath, you stand accused of kin-slaying." Speaks the Elder solemnly. "Though you were not born to us, you were welcomed in, earned a trophy, and made yourself spirit to our spirit, blood to our blood. Speak now."

"What... what do I say?" You ask quietly. You feel small, these strange men looking down on you. You are reminded of home, another time when, ringed by family, you were confronted with authority in the fire's glow.

"Tell us truly what happened, and how Kiva met his end." The Elder's voice softens.

You recount the story again. The Headmen murmur between themselves incredulously when you talk of healing, and being overcome with the sun god's fury.

"-and I... when I came to, I just... I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say..." You bow your head, fighting to hold your tears before the council.

"You expect us to believe these fireside tales of gods?" One of the headmen shouts.

"You have felt the moon-curse yourself, Tellah!" Another snaps. "This girl is kin to Fenrir, and to us. Is it not the same?"

They devolve into arguing. Djanna glares between them all. Emma watches you, looking like she'd like nothing more than to go to your side.

"Please!" You exclaim, your runemarks gleaming in the near-dark. "Don't argue... l-let's just get this behind us... I want to make amends." You look desperately between the men, the light shining from your marks silencing those who had argued against the existence of your supposedly divine powers. The Elder frowns curiously, but doesn't speak. The headmen return to muttering among themselves, before finaly seeming to reach some sort of concensus. A message is whispered to the Elder, who nods.

"Very well. We are in agreement, then? They all nod again, in agreement.

"Then... Nadia. You will hear your judgement."

You nod, holding your breath. "What you have done is monstrous, but if what you have said is true... we cannot hold it against you. What proof can you offer of this supposed divine power?" The Elder looks down at you from his perch atop his rock, eyes intensely focused.

You look to Djanna and Emma desperately. Djanna looks confused, but Emma hops off her perch without hesitation. Some of the headmen call out admonishments and chastisements, but a growl from the tiny girl silences them, from surprise if nothing else. She crosses to you and hugs you quickly.

"Nadia... can I help you?"

You tilt your head in confusion, but before you can question it, she steps back with your dagger in hand and runs the edge along the palm of her hand with a cry. You snap out, relieving her of the weapon with one hand and gripping her wrist with the other. "Emma, what did you do!?"

"You'd never have gone with it if I'd just suggested it... now show 'em."

You look up at the Elder, who to his credit remains impassive in the face of the young girl's blood. The other headmen seem troubled. Djanna likewise seems disturbed by the demonstration.

You take her hand and focus your thoughts, invoking Yra's name. The torches flare up, the light of the flame drowning out the light of the moon. The murmurs of the men still as your brands glow with the light of the sun, passing from your grip into the girl's hand. Her wound seals quickly, the skin and flesh knitting as if she'd never cut herself. The men's murmuring turns to disbelieving shouts and shocked exclamations. Even the Elder whispers an oath, leaning back in his seat.

"I don't believe it... I have never... and this same power overwhelmed you, causing you to take Kiva's life? Perhaps there was reason in what was done by the will of this power, or maybe there was wisdom in it. I do not know, but I will say that... never, in all my years have I seen something like this. The healing of wounds, marks that glow like the sun... what is it you said was the name of this god, child?"

"Yra..." you whisper, whining as you take the hem of your shirt and scrub at Emma's hand, succeeding only at smearing the blood about. She frowns, but submits herself to your ministrations all the same. The Elder nods, looking between the headmen quietly before turning back to you.

"We have seen here evidence that lends credence to your words. Though it was your hand that ended Kiva's life... we are inclined to believe you were not yourself. You will make restitution to Vela by facing her in combat, and you will grant her a portion of your kills so as to return to her what she was de-"

"I don't care about the kills." Vela's icy voice comes from the entry of the circle. You turn, finding the girl standing there, wearing nothing but a wrap around her breasts and a simple loincloth. Her body is tattooed further, in ways that her toga had hidden, dusted with white save two long black streaks below her eyes. You want to question it, but you can't bring yourself to. "I can feed myself. I only want satisfaction."
