With the research settled you now need to determine how you want to fight this giant creature and fast. The AI’s scans indicate that the beast is highly magical in nature so you can expect magical attacks as well as needing to deal with the increasing swarm of small flying creatures that constantly drop from the massive giant.

You knew you kept this laptop around for something and call for the AI to send in whatever heavy equipment is ready. Once again pulling on and compressing the mana in the air around you to form a bank of fog you notice something new, sparks of electricity race about inside the dense fog. It is probably a good thing that you left a clear area for yourself and the goblins to stage attacks from.

Then you organize the goblins to begin firing at the giant creature’s wings, hopefully they can damage them enough to prevent it from ever flying. Some of the more adventurous goblins begin to plant magic seeds to provide an extra distraction against the swarm of flying beasts. The plan actually works too; the beasts who are angered by the electricity in the fog dive down towards the plants’ movement and attack them. The plants of course happily attack the flying beasts in their mindless attempt to feast on flesh. Then you decide to ignite your gun to shoot the giant beast’s eyes, before the gun changed to have lines of pulsing orange power but now it also has gently glowing yellow lines.

You unleash the power of your gun and shoot the giant beast, a burst of three cackling and flaming balls of electricity and fire fly directly at the monster. A few of the smaller flying beasts get in the way of your shot, two beasts explode when they are hit but thankfully the last shot makes it though and strikes the giant creature in the face. It responds by firing a giant laser from its mouth which cuts through the fog and hits directly in the middle of your formation scattering the goblins.

With the goblins all nearly being killed from the giant creature’s laser attack they dive into hiding spot and continue take potshots at anything they can, exploding bolts rain through the air thinning out the swarm of flying beasts. The electricity from the fog has begun to kill the flying beasts that dive though it, leaving an increasing pile of corpses much to the delight of the plants.

You urge the lizard forward through the fog to get close to the monster, if you can poison it then hopefully the creature will die faster. As you get closer however the giant beast howls and angrily flaps its wings unleashing a torrent of wind which completely blows the fog away.

The goblins are blown out of their hiding places by the force of the wind and are scattered about. Even the giant lizard is forced to stop advancing as it tries to hunker down to prevent the wind from blowing it away. So you are forced to close the distance alone you dodge a few of the giant beast’s swipes and plunge your poison dagger into it. The area around the cut turns a sickly black as scales fall off and turn into dead flying beasts.

The goblins are able to fight off the swarm of flying beasts enough to regroup and being shooting once again. With the glut of food the monstrous plants have begun to multiply slowing increasing their number as they keep consuming the flying beasts.

Since the beast is having trouble swiping at you it instead uses your own plan against you and fires its mouth laser right at you again.

There is no time to dodge the attack so you’ll have to endure it, thankfully there is a tingle as your shield’s defensive magic works to protect you. The laser slices though the garbage and ground around you as your flesh boils. Once the laser clears you focus mana into the giant beast then twist it to damage the beast poisoning it from the inside out. Then you open fire into the blackened cut releasing a cacophonic eruption of sound as the insides of the beast are blasted apart.

Keeping things slow means we can get hours out of each thread.

The goblins continue to fire into the swarm of flying creatures, small explosions dropping bodies all over the battle field. The monstrous plants are enjoying their free buffet as they continue to consume flesh and multiply. The massive creature is fully focused on you right now so you run around the beast to draw its attention away from the direction that the reinforcements should be arriving from. The beast claws and swipes at you trying to kill or catch you.

You successfully avoid the giant creature’s four grasping hands and make your way behind the beast. It responds by digging its claws into the ground and pulling the rest of its body from the ground. Rather than legs the beast’s body ends with a long finned tail. It keeps trying to fight your poison and take flight but it only manages to twist around to face you.


A hail of explosions heralds the arrival of the AI’s reinforcements. Several armored vehicles move to surround the goblins on the ground to provide cover from the flying creature swarm and the plants. Larger tanks open fire aiming for the giant beast’s wings while two hurriedly constructed helicopters unleash swarms of rockets to break the swarm of flying beasts.

You ignore your reinforcements with your intent to finish the fight once and for all. You rush straight towards the massive beast intent to climb up the beast to the hole in its torso. It will only be a short climb because thankfully the beast has a tail rather than legs so it is keeping its torso rather close to the ground. The beast suddenly launches lances of fire from the tips of its claws.

But you are only hit by one of the flaming blasts and with the help of your shield you simply shrug the blow off and continue as if nothing happened. You set your knives alight and stab them into the giant beast and climb your way up to the gaping hole. The beast slams its hands into you and you feel your bones crack twice, once as the break and again as they reset. It doesn’t stop you though as you reach the hole and cut your way into the beast’s body. You slash your sword as best you can into the flesh and organs surrounding you trying to cripple the beast or at least cause it to bleed to death. You are rather thankful for the implant that makes it so you don’t need to breathe right now because there is no air inside the beast , just an ever increasing flood of blood.

Magical beasts work pretty much the same as animals in the living world so you decide to follow the pulsing and hope you find a heart to cut out. There is the fait sound of explosions coming from outside the body of the beast so hopefully that is the AI opening fire and not the sound of the giant beast destroying everything.

You relies that the beast’s blood is being pumped by ten different hearts, but they are all being regulated by some other organ, its faint pulse is nearly concealed by the electricity from your poison spell.

You hack, slash and tear your way deeper into the beast trying to follow whatever it is that is controlling the giant creature’s hearts. Seemingly miles of blood and gore pass by as you work your way to your target. Eventually you find a glowing orb about the size of your fist, your intimate connection to life itself makes you feel as though this orb is very important to the beast.

The world then comes back into focus. The body of the giant winged monster is crumbling into ash all around you. As you cut your way out of the corpse you notice that the explosions are no longer focused in the air but rather from the shaking it appears that the ground is being bombarded. You break through the crumbling skin of the massive beast and look over the battle field to find the goblins, robots, and the giant lizard all battling the army of plants that have grown.

Its an ability not a spell, so while the metamagics don't work on it, you can still use it in a antimagic zone - not that those are a thing at all.

Next research: Full analysis of Reggie. By which I mean, have a shitload of scanners around, and allow for us to be put on an operating table with healers on standby while we get opened up and have our interior fleshy bits examined. Maybe actually place a scanner inside to constantly monitor our status and progress.
Then, use Void Power so that we can research the void a bit, see if we can chart anything strange about our insides before they seal up from using the ability. Then study the exterior, I suppose, as much as we can.

It's a good opportunity for Pain Tolerance training, too, I suppose.

You nearly fall face first out of the crumbling corpse, but you use your secret agent skills to turn it into a tactical roll so it looks like you meant to do that. Then you run to the side of the battle field and take aim so you will not hit any of your allies. Then you channel all the mana you possibly can into your throat and then suddenly release it all in a single massive burst.

Your flesh burns as the laser is freed from your body, your eyes boil from the intense heat and light. A massive swath of the battle field is instantly vaporized. While the steam clears the AI and giant lizard mop up the few remaining plants. Looking around at the bodies of the flying creatures you see them all crumbling to ash and scattering away into nothingness.


“You have not exhibited this ability before now.” The robotic voice of the AI chimes out. “Either you have been holding back or even more alarming you are developing new abilities at an abnormal rate.”

“I highly recommend gathering data on these phenomena tied to you.” The AI continues. “With the improved scanners perhaps some answers can be gathered. Unless you are able to shed light on it yourself.”

Then you head back to the goblin city and agree to the AI’s request to study you.


The room you enter is filled with scanners with a single operating table in the center.

“Please begin by performing matter materialization.” The AI’s voice drones.

So you close your eyes and try to will something into existence, you think about how much better it would be to loot some guns or some advanced technology for once. At the last moment your mind wanders and you think about genetic modification. Then you feel a pop as something new begins to exist.

You open your eyes to find a small cylindrical fleshy mass which sits on the operating table. It slowly waves tentacles around looking to grasp something.


“Congratulations you are a father.” The AI says. “You have somehow created a new life form.”

“Scans indicate that it is parasitic in nature, it consumes mana to do something. More research should be done before trying to use it.” The AI continues as robotic limbs scoop up the little thing. ”Next we shall attempt to dissect you, your natural regeneration should render the attempt harmless.”

To help with the AI's full analysis, we should probably tell it a bit about our life, and most importantly, the last moments before our death and what occurred afterwards up until activating the AI.

Robotic limbs bring an assortment of tools to begin to cut into your body: bone saws, scalpels, circular saws and even a blow torch. You ask the AI is this really is a ‘dissection’ or if it is torture.

“Of course not, please continue to distract yourself by talking.” The AI responds. So you keep talking about your secret agent past, the missions, the women, the exotic locations, the guns, the explosives, the booze and of course the women. No its just to see how much you can get done while your body is regenerating.

You start to try and cut yourself open, scalpels fail, bone daggers fail, a blow torch fails, the Sickeater dagger fails, it seems like you can’t even hurt yourself. In fact your connection to life makes you feel like trying to hurt yourself would be healing your injuries if you had any.

You with the goblins acting as a workforce a new highly reinforced building is created. You then have your skeletons prepare the finest meal of purple fruit and crab meat that they can with a lovely carnivorous plant side salad. Then you have it expertly arranged on a nice table with a vase of silver flowers to finish the look.


With plenty of scanning equipment in place to collect data for the AI you bring the lamp into the center of the room.

“Good now simply rub the lamp three times, in theory that should awaken the djinn.” The AI states.


So you give it a shot and rub the lamp three times.

Nothing happens.

You try to rub the lamp again.

This time the lamp begins to shake and a thick smoke fills the room. So you set it down on one side of the table and take your place on the other side.

The smoke floats around careful to not touch anything but it is clearly examining everything in the room. It seems particularly interested in anything of a magical nature.

“Hello?” You say carefully.

The smoke swirls around vaguely trying to form shapes. It seems agitated, until the smoke extends out and touches the silver flowers. The flowers instantly tarnish and crumble away. Perhaps it needs more magical energy to fully manifest?

“Bring some more flowers, some magic seeds, and the excess mana batteries the goblins looted.” You tell the AI.

“I must warn you that the crystal batteries may become unstable during the djinn’s mana draining process.” The AI states.

The smoke recoils towards the lamp and greatly condenses; it appears to be scanning the room trying to locate the source of the voice. So you make some soothing sounds and gestures to coax it back out.


The AI is careful to maintain silence as it has the supplies you asked for delivered, the inner airlock is opened and you bring the stuff inside. You then offer the flowers to the smoke which quickly reaches out to them and the flowers once again tarnish and crumble at the touch of the smoke. After consuming the flowers the smoke has changed from pure white, to a faint greenish color.


Next you offer the magic seeds to the smoke. It swirls about them, gently prodding and examining them as if it was slightly unsure but it still absorbs the magic from the seeds leaving behind husks that crumble into dust. The smoke now takes on a violet color as it begins to move about more energetically.

Next your try the crystal batteries, they hold the equivalent of 5TW so surely one would provide enough energy. Upon presenting a battery to the smoke it curls around the surface of the battery, once again exploring the new object. Then the smoke thickens around the battery and the total volume of the smoke begins to rapidly increase until the battery crumbles into ash. The smoke then contracts while twisting around you to access the remaining batteries which it quickly absorbs the energy from leaving behind nothing more than a pile of ash. Now the smoke is a brilliant orange color and it floats about happily you think.

Well there is one last source of mana you decide, yourself. So you reach out and touch the smoke.

The smoke moves closer to you and tries to pull mana from you but instead you pull the mana from the world around you and channel it into the smoke. It quivers and probes around a bit as if its aware of what you did but unable to comprehend how such a thing is possible, so it contents itself to keep pulling at your mana. The smoke is rather endearing with its mana draining antics at this point you to let it pull out your mana until you feel your reserves emptied out and then you cut it off so it doesn’t try to turn you into dust as well. It keeps pulling for a bit before puffing out a bit and contracting back into the lamp like it was pouting. Soon no more smoke is in the room.


“It appears to have returned completely to the lamp. There are unusual power emanations coming from the lamp this could be an unknown formative stage.” The AI suddenly states.

You decide to wait for whatever is happening to happen, you’re not sure if leaving could disrupt whatever is happening so you decide to just sit down and meditate to try to recover your mana. Before starting you ask for the AI to bring any cleaner paste that may have been collected and any potions that have been made using it. Once you have the new supplies you begin your meditation in earnest. After some time you feel like your reserves are restored.


“The power emanations have subsided. Please attempt to awake the djinn once more.” The AI says.


So you approach the table where the lamp sits and rub the lamp once more.

Sparkling white smoke erupts forth from the lamp so you sit down at the table to wait for what happens.

The smoke swirls about the opposing chair and slowly begins to clear revealing a very beautiful raven haired woman, who is also very naked.


“What have you summoned me for master?” she playfully asks.


“It appears the awakening process has been successful.” The AI states before you can respond.

“Who was that? Reveal yourself!” The djinn says while looking around the room.

“That was our AI, it is not here but can project its voice over the speakers.” You tell the djinn as you pour the improved mana potion into a pair of glasses. You pass one to the djinn and motion to eat, as you enjoy your meal you –

“Oh! Right.” She makes a pouting face and waves her hand around a bit. A faint illusion of a mana battery appears and she radiates happiness. “These things are very nice if master wishes to spoil me.”


You pour her the last of the mana potion and pass the glass back to her. The potion makers are probably going to hate her, a whole day’s work gone in mere minutes. You would offer her clothing, but she either doesn’t mind or is purposely playing with you, not to say that you are not enjoying her jiggling about.


“Do you have a name?” you ask.

“It is whatever you decide master.” She replies after draining the glass once more.
