It is impossible for you to take schoolwork seriously, especially since you don't like it at all. So all you do is respond with a non-committal "I'll try my best."

The following week went by in a blur and while you were studying for a good portion of the time some of the other portion you were either patrolling for an hour or two (Hidden under the guise of exercising) or going out with Momoko who was the only one that would never tattle tale on you. When you are studying you take it seriously, mostly out of fear that she will try to put you in the chair. She is slightly dissapointed at your lack of commitment but she can't really force you enjoy doing something that you hate.

Before you know it you it's exam week and everyone is nervous. You are nervous because your dad's cronies will definetely attack here, they ALWAYS attack when theres big events involving you or any of the other girls. Speaking of they've shown themselves to be good, so maybe that little bear Lubu will let them have enough magical energy to actually use their powers and fight. Akari has been given a wider freedom of movement and she's been beefing up the defenses around the school. Not like they'll serve for much.

Exams went by without a hitch, you were surprised by how easy they were, mostly. There were some problems that you just couldn't understand and you just gave up near the end. Thankfully you got all your tests results rather quickly and found out your average test score and found yourself pleasantly surprised. "82 percent average." You say out loud without thinking

"Wait really?" Momoko perks up from her double strawberry cream sundae, "So did I! What a coincidence, right? Wanna compare exams?" She sounds way more excited than usual.

"I'd rather not. I'll just get angry." You stab your spoon into your creamy nut pecan and vanilla swirl. "I'm a bit relieved and disappointed there wasn't a monster attack during finals though."

"You're really itching for a fight, huh? How long has it been? Five weeks?" She counts in her head, "It's a good change of pace from the weekly attacks, I prefer it."

"I just can't shake the feeling my dad has something planned, something big." You take a big spoonful out of the stuff in your cup. "Fencing club isn't nearly enough practice you know. I think we should have a practice fight somehow."

"Last time you did that you drew in a crowd, it was in the news and all! We're plenty strong right now, don't you think your dad just went off to sleep for a century or two? That's be nice."

You make a beeline home to tell Aomi you passed and all that. Thankfully you didn't encounter anything along the way though you did feel like someone was looking at you. You look around and find no one, you swear that if you find out Marcus is tailing you you are going to kill him so fast he isn't going to have time to react. You feel around with your magical 'sonar' and find absolutely nothing unusual. Must have been your imagination then. After that little incident you walk back home but you keep looking back, you can still feel like if someone is looking at you. Is this your paranoia or are you right this time?

Whatever it is, you shrug it off and head home. If it wants to attack you you'll just fight back, no biggie. You jump past the front gate in what some would call an abuse of power but unlocking and locking that thing is a pain. You make record time to Aomi's room and find her reading a book in bed while wearing her pajamas. You grab the test report card and show it to her.

"Impressive, this should get you above the 'barely passing' mark." She happily says, "AND your grades will look better!"

You cross your arms get a smug look on your face. "Of course and I was only half taking it seriously."

"Which is why you should make a full effort on your grades Sister. You want to live a normal life don't you? Get serious about it." She grabs you by the shoulder and before you know it she pulls you into a hug. "But that's for later, tonight we celebrate. I wonder if Lady Akira will let us take out a bottle of wine?"

You really hate it when she calls her that but she IS helping you out.

"Wine, lets celebrate with wine! We don't drink that often, or together." Though last time you got drunk you also got drugged and ended up having to get your hair cut due to the knots. Either way you're up for some drinking.

"Are you sure?" She asks curiously.

"I've been dealing with booze before you were born." You say smugly, "I'm sure I can handle it."

"Being older by a couple of weeks doesn't really count for much at this point." Aomi says and rolls her eyes. "It's going to be just the two of us, Ibara is off somewhere and Yasuna is hanging out with Amano."

Well that's nice both of you catch Akira as she was going to sleep and beg her to let you use one of the wine bottles in the cellar. She sighs and tells you one that you might like and to only grab that one.

It isn't long before you Aomi chills the wine and makes a very small dinner. Nothing too fancy since really fancy things take time. It's mostly leftovers from the day before but it's still really good food.

The wine is...sweet, the kind you don't keep for long, or so you've been told. Either way it's a nice dinner with your sister but even so you can't stop feeling like you're being watched.

You sigh, well at least peace was good while it lasted.
