You crack your knuckles. "Ready to show them just how far they can go, Krillin?"

He laughs, and does a little stretch. "Let's not get too crazy. Just show them how they can take things up a notch, right?"

The two of you tap fists, then back up, taking your stances. You each count to three, then burst forth, locking fists and sending a small gust of air as a shockwave out. You quickly back up, dodging a few of Krillin's strikes, then going for a grab on his arm and flinging him to the ground. He recovers swiftly, then goes in for a roundhouse to your head. You block it with one hand, prepping a Geist Magnum with the other, landing a solid blow to Krillin's chest. Not enough to really hurt THAT bad, but enough that it gives him a reminder to pay attention. Krillin gets back up, bolting at you and managing to get a strike at your jaw, though you quickly counter into a pair of kicks to his gut, knocking him down.

"Hah! You keep getting better and better, Maple." he comments, jumping back up and bowing. "Well guys, how was that?"

To their credit, they were following all that as best as they could, but they seemed clearly impressed by your speeds and sheer strength. Lazuli gives him a thumb's up, Lapis nodding. Chuu Lee grind proudly at you.

"Chuu Lee, Lazuli, ready?" you question. The other redheaded girl nods enthusiastically, while the blonde girl steps forward calmly, taking her stance. Chuu Lee gives a bow and does the same.

"Ready?" Krillin asks. Both girls nod. "Begin!"

They dash at each other, swerving around. To her credit, Chuu Lee does fairly well keeping pace at first, matching Lazuli's movements and even landing a couple solid blows, but it's pretty clear that the blonde girl can take a hit even better, and throw one out harder than her opponent. A powerful kick to the gut sends the other redhead into the air, Lazuli taking to the sky and catching up with her, hammering your student into the ground. Chuu Lee recovers in time, and even manages to fire off a Geist Magnum of her own as Lazuli comes down after her, but the blonde girl dodges aside, cupping her hands together. The all-too familiar chant of a Kamehameha is heard, and soon the blue blast strikes your student hard, knocking her down to the ground.

Lapis seems to be watching them both carefully. "She's pretty good to be able to match my sister like that, though guess that wasn't enough."

"Think so?" Krillin asks.

"She hasn't been training for as long as we have, so guess it makes sense. Still, guess we'll have to be careful, especially with you training her, Maple." he says with a glance in your direction. "Good to have someone closer to us, though. And she's pretty cu-cool. Cool." His face becomes as expressionless as a stone.

And yeah, exactly. That was a constant problem in DBZ, and it would be better for us to avoid that. And, to Kato's credit, we have, so far. Everyone's still relevant, even if there still are definite "tiers" of how powerful everyone is (which is inevitable, really).

I hate to cite another Dragonball quest as an example here, but Human Quest has this problem to the point where I lost interest, among other reasons. By the end of the first "series", there were, what, twenty-odd characters who were all constantly fighting over screen time?

When Kaguya decided to go to space, and the thread got the choice of five people to come with him, they had like fifteen choices for who to bring. Obviously we're nowhere near that point here, but I'm just thinking in terms of what could happen if we don't at least keep that in mind at this stage.

Suggest Krillin to go try for Raioken if we haven't.

This is tuffle quest. Team work is key. Most of the tough fights recently have been against people who should have blown us out alone.

Shura, without the 3 people working together would have been rough or dead. He was at like 36k. Then Melee, Gola, Diavolo and Mark handled the mooks so fighting without distractions.

King Piccolo, we had Goku, Chi-Chi, Tein, Trip, Maple and Eigher supplied a surprise visit. Melee and Gola there provided some very important cleanup too.

Even King Vegeta, which was a smaller fight, still had 3 people for most of it, followed up by ending with a big bang with about 5 or 6 different people acting against him.

We can handle character bloat and also, not every enemy will be faced by the whole cast, it will rotate out. Besides there is a lot of injustice that deserves a punch in the face.

Maple alone cannot be everywhere. She she will rely on her friends to apply some punching too.

That's a distinction I meant to make, too, because you're absolutely right. As long as the cast stays relevant and are able to meaningfully contribute in their own ways (whether or not that means fighting directly), that's fine. Look at Trip, for an example of how someone can do zero fighting and still be extremely helpful.

To go back to Human Quest's problem in this regard, the distinction I meant to make is that when those fifteen or so characters were all lined up to be chosen to go to space, the five who were chosen were, for the most part, the only logical choices.

There's such a ludicrous power gap between the main five or six characters and everyone else that there was really no question. Kaguya, Videl, and Kaguya's OC friends are all so much more powerful than anyone who isn't Gohan or Cell Junior that the others may as well not even be in the quest at all. It's a quest with an enormous cast of characters, but only a small handful actually do anything. That's what we need to avoid.

Thanks for playing! Shura got his ass kicked good, and I kinda liked y'all focusing on the teamwork aspect of it and being tactical about it. Very smart. Of course, the dice were also in your favor, and in brobro's favor, for once. Red Comet got some time to shine.

Shura's going to be imprisoned, and a lot of the changes he made in the last few hundred years are going to be reversed. Note that Beelzebub is about 3000 years old at this point. His Power Level is 490 million.

As for the sword, it's not as strong, comparatively, as Acer's blade, but it's going to be even easier to channel Ki and magic into. It's fairly strong and has a good edge to it, decent slashing power. Something Yajirobe can really give you some good pointers on.

And as for spending more "personal" time with Goku, well, we'll see. Maybe something before the Tournament, maybe something after. While he "sort of" knows what dating is, he's not really sure himself if you two are a "couple." He cares for you, and trusts you, but this is ALL still new for him. Braving the needle was one thing that he had to really muster up strength for, but he got through it because of... and kind of "for" you?

Trip and Chiaotzu (Melee and Gola were here until they returned to the Demon Realm, both at about 5k, Godzilla and Gamera are up here too, at above that)

Next are the ones that are still pretty strong, especially by Dragon Ball standards, but not quite at "Raditz curbstomp" tier
Roshi (though he could probably beat Raditz if he tried hard enough), Lapis, Lazuli, Chuu Lee and Baragon

And then there're the other supporters, who can do their own things to help out in certain ways

A bit of a reference to Xenoverse in that part. The "Majin" (魔神) Demigra tries to title himself with actually uses different Kanji then the "Majin" (魔人) of Buu and his kind. Translation didn't always correct this or make it clear what the differences of each were, though for purposes of the quest... well, there might be a reason why the two have similar names. Maple doesn't know anything about the other kind of Majin, but she would recognize the first Kanji (魔) in either's name.

Hirudegarn is also a Demon God, and though not as powerful as Demigra is powerful and dangerous enough to pose a threat to the universe and the Demon Realm's continued existence. Don't let Towa near him.

Other than that, the Makyo Star will make its approach to Earth on schedule but something might happen to Garlic Jr. before then, so that miniarc might not happen at all.

Hirudegarn and Demigra are a different kind of "Majin," more specifically "Demon Gods." Buu and Ozotto are a different sort from them. Think, the difference between Supreme Kais and the other Kais, or beings like them. Buu is one of the stronger kinds of the secondary Majins, with power on par with Hirudegarn, both in raw strength and in ability. Hirudegarn edges out on that slightly. Demigra is exceptionally strong, not quite on the same tier as someone like Beerus or Super Saiyan God Goku, but easily a match for the Shadow Dragons, especially due to his abilities.
