It's been about a week and a half since that whole mess with Noelle... things have been more or less quiet since then, with no mysterious paranormal activity or serial murders or kidnappings or anything else that might cause concern. And without any new threats to my life, the biggest source of stress that I've been having to deal with lately is schoolwork.

Well, that and the fact that my girlfriend's been encased in a cocoon this entire time. With every day that passes with her in there, I get more and more anxious... I'm even having trouble paying attention at school because of how worried I am, and pretty much every night is filled with dreams about her emerging as her normal super hot self or a cat-eared sex goddess or a grotesque monster or a dude or Mothra or what the hell ever.

So yeah, I'm a bundle of nerves right now and spending time with my friends is pretty much the only thing that's kept me from collapsing into a total nervous wreck.

Lately, I've been splitting my free time between helping Gabrielle look after Charlotte's animals up in her suite (Gabrielle's all but moved in there since Charlotte went into the cocoon), attempting to get in shape with Theresa, and just trying to be there for Mina after the whole awful episode where she got mindcontrolled. She put up a strong facade, but I still worry about her.

Oh, and I've also been practicing with my Branch just in case something else horrible happens.

The possibility of getting pulled into a fight at night or indoors has been a real worry of mine for a while now. I mean, even if I try to rely on the light pattern I stole from that one jerk, it's still a huge drain on my stamina and trying to charge up a laser in those conditions is all kinds of awful. So to try and make myself more useful in those situations, I've been working on the amount of light that I myself am able to create without relying on outside sources.

The first night I really tried to work on this, I ended up passing out on Charlotte's terrace from exhaustion. But it turns out that it works kind of like exercise, where I see more results the more I do. But unlike exercise, I seem to be getting results a lot faster than expected.

Thank God.

So while I'm only able to run for about a block and a half before my body starts screaming at me to stop, I can fire about three lasers or so purely from my own personal reserves. And the charge time's way less, too!

While there's a real void in my life thanks to Charlotte being indisposed, it's not like I haven't been able to stay busy. The school day passes by more or less the same as always, with me having lunch with Mina like usual. She's kind of subdued lately, but I'm glad that she's at least feeling up to going out in the open so soon after what happened to her.

After classes let out, we meet up like usual by the front door of the building.

"So..." Mina lets out a long sigh, "how're you two holding up?"
"Huh?" I tilt my head. "Who?"
"You and Gabrielle," she says. "Charlotte's still in that cocoon thing, right?"
"Oh," I slump down. "Yeah, she is."

Not like I'm able to forget about that for even a second...

"Gabrielle's doing alright, I guess..." I shrug. "She spends most of the day playing videogames like always so I can't really tell if she's freaking out at all."
"Yeah, she mentioned that online."
"Shary still feels like crap about it, though..." I shake my head.

I haven't told anyone else about how all the times Shary's fallen asleep in my arms while in Gabrielle's body, but I also don't think it's out of order for me to at least mention to Mina that she's feeling crappy.

"Can't blame her," Mina sighs. "Be nice if Charlotte got done... metamorphosing or whatever before Easter Sunday though."
"Yeah," I nod. "I was thinking about asking her to come over my place to have dinner with me and Allison then, but she doesn't seem all that comfortable with leaving Charlotte's cocoon unattended."

Easter dinner with my sister and girlfriend and her sister sounds super nice and all, but it's seeming less and less likely.

"Nah," I shake my head. "I was thinking that maybe I've been neglecting Alison lately so I'm gonna try and spend some time with her for a change."

The urge to fill the room with light butterflies comes upon me for a splitsecond, but then I remember that I came here because I wanted to be a nice little sister. So instead, I walk over to the doorframe and lean on it while waiting for her to notice that I'm here.

It's something that I considered putting in the initial post but opted not to mention for whatever reason.

Allison knows something's going on with Chalrotte and she knows that it's bothering Cecile and Cecile knows that Allison knows that something's up.

Cecile hasn't brought it up because it's depressing, and Allison hasn't said anything up until now because she's trying not to be nosy.

It's up to you guys whether or not to to tell her however much of the situation to tell her or to just make up an excuse or whatever.

I open my eyes and am met with darkness. Not that I can't see just fine, but it's pretty jarring considering that it was bright and sunny when I fell asleep.

"Dammit..." I groan as I push myself upright and wipe the crud from my glasses. I can still hear the music from my game too... but it's not on my bed anywhere.

After returning to my room, I bring out my phone and give Gabrielle a ring to see how she's going. Part of me is hoping that Charlotte's back, but there's no chance that she wouldn't call me right away if that was the case so I quickly just end up disappointing myself.

"Hello?" Gabrielle answers the phone. "Cecile?"
"Hey," I reply. "I was just calling to ask how things were going over there since I wasn't able to come over today."
"Same as always," Gabrielle grumbles. "Milla's sleeping a lot and Loki tore up another couch pillow and Rhaccy's off doing owl stuff," she sighs.
"Still nothing with Charlotte?" I ask.
"Nope," she replies in a solemn tone. "I went in there to check on the cocoon but it doesn't look any different," she sighs. "And there's no light in there so I can't see inside it either..."

So it's just another typical day.

I really really really hope that Charlotte comes out of that stupid thing soon... this feeling of anxiety just won't go away, not to mention that I was hoping to spend some quality vacation time with my girlfriend before this latest round of BS happened.
