You stand in Koe's castle, looking up at the demon lord as he sits upon his throne.

"I have been in contact with Alice, the woman who now controls both the Tournament Committee, and the Black Black Club," Koe informs you. "The attempted restoration of the bodies of Bruce's parents is apparently going quite well. Estimates place completion of the project at some time tomorrow afternoon, at which point it will all be up to Koenma whether Bruce's parents can return. And, from what I understand, Kasai will be able to enter surgery later today if she so desires."

"If one desires power, they must seize it wherever possible," Koe explains. "I have eyes and ears everywhere, and allies in rather high positions in your world."

"How long has she worked for you?" you ask.

"Since she began to rise in power in the criminal underworld," Koe answers. "I helped her gain power, she helped me gain information. It has been a beneficial relationship."

"So, what's the next step?" you ask. "Belial's dead, but Lilith is still out there. She could be getting Ziz's buddies Leviathan and Behemoth together."

Koe shakes his head. "Highly unlikely. Believe it or not, Ziz is the most intelligent of that trio. Behemoth and Leviathan are pure forces of nature, with power unlike anything you have ever seen. Lilith is no fool. She understands that waking those two from their slumber would be tantamount to suicide. No, Lilith will be doing something else. Only time will tell what that something is. For now, she is frightened, and will be cautious when making her next move. Not only that, but your actions have established you as a threat in the eyes of her lord Kuraidesu. I've received word that his forces are abandoning their outposts in your world, and retreating to the demon world."

Koe smiles, standing up. "You've grown very strong, my friend. Power suits you. I find myself wondering just how mighty you could become, given the time."

"I'm unsure," Koe admits, stepping down to stand in front of you. "I've long known that you possess a great potential, but you've already greatly surpassed my expectations. Your power and skill are truly remarkable. It hasn't been all that long since you began to train under me, and you're already an A Class fighter. Who knows? One day your powers could even surpass my own."

He chuckles. "A part of me finds it inconceivable that a human could become that strong. But, I've found over the years that your species is capable of some amazing things. One day, you might become more powerful than anything else alive."

He shakes his head. "But, that's unlikely. After all, human life is such a fleeting thing. One day, your body will begin to deteriorate, your mind may remain as sharp as ever, but everything else will begin to fail you. It's a sad thing, especially considering demons do not share that fate. Though, given that dear Kasai will live long after you're dead, perhaps immortality is its own tragedy."

"Mankind has long sought the secrets to immortality," Koe tells you. "Many have spent their entire lives trying to find a way to live forever. Very few ever succeeded in attaining immortality, and for them it came at a cost."

Koe gives you a serious look. "Humans, by nature, are not meant to live forever. Your species is designed to eventually die and be succeeded by a new generation. Humans that craved immortality badly enough, however, were willing to sacrifice their own humanity in order to gain it."

He turns away. "What I'm saying, is that for you to become immortal, you would have to cease being human, and become something else. You'd have to become a demon."

"In the short term you would likely grow more aggressive and prideful," Koe explains. "You would have to take time to reign in those traits, lest you fall victim to them as many demons have before. You would also find yourself craving a more carnivorous diet. Many demons eat humans, though it is quite possible to live without them, and simply stick to eating large animals. Beyond that, it's difficult to say."

"So, what's our next move?" you ask, changing the subject. "Now that Kuraidesu basically withdrew his forces from the human world, will I be going on missions to Demon World, or are there more loose ends in my world to deal with?"

"As a matter of fact, there is one thing of note in the human world," Koe informs you. "One of Kuraidesu's outposts has not been abandoned. When his forces began to withdraw, a small group numbering perhaps a few dozen came to replace them. I'm not sure if he is maintaining the outpost for strategic reasons, or if there's something of value there that needs to be protected, but I believe it to be worth investigating."

"There is Sacred Energy," Koe explains. "It can only be attained by those few who are able to perceive it, and have a strong desire to correct the world around them. It takes at least forty years to master, and is considered the most powerful form of energy."

"And what about you?" you ask. "How did you get so strong? Was it natural, or did you work for it?"

"I worked for it, of course," he answers. "Few demons are born with power anywhere near mine. I was somewhere in the D-Class range when I was young, but through many years of intense training I was able to grow stronger."
