Last time as male MC we built a pet, did a lot of research for the sake of getting into a highly guarded course, and then finally managed to do so. Sadly not before getting ripped off by an AI and accidentally hitting on our new teacher who turned out to already have a boyfriend who was a student of hers...

That last part especially hurt.

To add insult to injury we at the same time embarrassed ourselves immensely in front of others. So to make ourselves feel better and try to forget you went SHOPPING! So now our MC is once more on the path to being an admiral and hopefully one day getting payback on his bitch of an elder sister. Hopefully this time being actually closer to achieving the objectives in question.

So welcome to the fantastic sci fi where things are awesome in all the right and wrong ways.

Let us hunt down some better info and tools to be ready for the new class. We may even find some people/new friends we can work with. So we need things on hacking, AI and robot building. New age Hobby Lobby so work, then we can move from there.

... hm really I just want to get us some homies. We can't forget to build up social links. Friends we can count on later in life would be grand. No we can't just build them. That would be kind of sad.

Also guys. . .I think I have something of a plan on how we can escape the lobotomy our sister put on us.

As long as we're in our body, we will forever be limited by that.

But. . .what if there were a way we could escape our body?

If we were to become proficient enough in computer engineering, we could theoretically create sometihg of a digital world, a matrix, or a grid if you will.

And if we become exceptionally proficient enough, we could make it so that either we hook our consciousness up to our own personal virtual reality. . .or maybe even download ourselves into one.

In that virtual world, we're not bound by the same brain meddling we are here. Under its jurrisdiction. We just might be able to free ourselves, either by hacking and destroying the implants from within. . .or even just abandoning our body altogether. Get smart enough to clone and rebuild a new body in our old image somewhere else in the real world, without the implant. Or even just stay in the grid for a while, and figure out a plan to end our sister, free to think away from her chains.

>>42564303
Also voting this. We need connections.

Don't be too hard on virtual connections either, we need AI's on our side too.

I suggest our next focus for this semester is coming up with ways to get into Volk and the Ziji couple's class, that I think we can do if we put our passion into a science, fulfilling both requirements. Mabye upgrade little Buddy into something cool, or go on a quest to grant him AI. That might be possible next semsester, however long away that is.
>>
>>42565167
What I meant by that is we shouldn't just make AI friends. Granted we are working on that, but we need people as well.

I'm kind of a fan of those two lovers. I think they may have some kind of tag team teaching that could be useful.
>>
>>42565317
Yeah, we can't rely on AI's alone. We do need actual people. But if we get smart enough, nothing wrong with making a few either.

In the least, giving Buddy life would be a good idea. We'll change his name to AI BDE.
>>
>>42565362
In honor of our last AI, I would like to give our 'baby' a Human name or pet name. None of the AI this or that. So leaving it Buddy is good for a pet and maybe even an AI.

Class is attended. You mostly breeze through it as per usual. Honestly your not even sure why you even bother showing up half the time unless its test day. As for people liking stuff you like...guess you could always check out the clubs or ask around. Hobby clubs should easily have people. Sadly many of the people who were interested in what you liked were of the nerdy crowd and more often then not exactly human...except for this one undead guy named Frank but your frankly not entirely sure that is suppose to count.

"All you need is yourself and whatever tools you can scrounge up. Of course school facilities will be available but some content is...questionable and other stuff that the school doesn't have would be better. A list will be 'unofficially' sent to the new students each semester with 'recommendations' this isn't including the 'official' list provided of course. Things DO change a bit each semester so I wont bother giving you this semester's list as it will be outdated by the time you join us. I DO believe the professor would have the newer one but good luck getting a hold of that one."

Let's make them less leery of us, by providing them with helpful tools for learning and AI programming, provided and designed by our Research team. Specifically designed to help them at their level.

Yeah, that is a good question, if we're so far ahead why should we hang out or even help them?

The reason I think we should is that eventually, there will come a time when we will encounter something far beyond our ability to learn, extremely far ahead.

Consider this something of an experiment on understanding the nature of learning, and how to maximize it. How to teach, and how to learn, advanced concepts and methods.

Later can apply what we've learned from teaching them to ourselves, allowing us to master stuff far ahead of our own ability when we encounter it. Not to mention we still make friends, which is always a bonus.

"What no of course not."

"Fuck fine goddamn. I was just trying to help..."

"...Fuck your giving me a headache. You DO realize its at best pointless to try help a normal in regards to SUPERIOR shit? Otherwise things like MAD can happen if your not so lucky. That can happen a lot. Its one thing to assist but its a whole nother to try to teach, convert, and other stuff. Now for everyone's sake don't try to drive yourself and others MAD or waste your time with pointless activities. Super time is SUPER valuable you fucking idiot. If we cannot FIND friends on our level, why not use that super potential to make one?

Buddy sits in our pocket, a fresh mind ready to learn but so crude. I think we stand to upgrade him significantly, into someone we can at least share a decent conversation with.

I'm finding it hilarious how much of a foil Petyr is to Abigail.

Abi is by all means not very knowledgeable or intelligent, not even rich or well statused in society, and yet she's absolutely certain of her actions and goals: Punch shit, kick ass, take names, get loot, and get laid. Singleminded, hardheaded, and stubborn as a mule to get what she wants.

Petyr is of a genius intellect part of a highly sophisticated family with exemplary grades. . .who is still struggling even since high-school to figure out a niche for him to fit in. Wondering about his next actions, questioning himself, if this is the right thing to do or that is.

Seeing them meet will be. . interesting to say the least.

Thanks partly to the newly purchased items you acquired and your decent skills you proceed to start upgrading your pet. Upgraded him quite a bit. Sadly though the programming is still rather lacking but its body is pretty good and its not quite so primitive as before. Not a fullblown AI however but its got a much better body now and you did tinker a bit with its programming.

Turns out AI is REALLY complicated after all...and its starting to feel like your missing something. Your not sure what though hopefully those AI classes will be able to reveal it.

Hmph. If we didn't have a reason to be loyal to her before (I remember now one of the reasons we hid the letter was because we were afraid she'd kill us), now we have every reason to be disloyal.

I suppose it will be an interesting arc for Petyr, whether or not we succeed. Settling whether we'll be under her clutches for the rest of our lives, or finally freeing ourselves from her and showing who is the better mastermind. Then we can meet up with Abigail and beginning the War civ proper.

So far the only plan I have is to become proficient at Programming and AI. Build our own protected VR place as enforced from any outside hacks as possible, and figure out a way to upload our consciousness into it.

From there we can dispose of our tainted brain and/or body, and hopefully have the resources and know how to make a new one for us. Might have to spend a lot of time working from within a machine for a while in between.

After realizing you have finally found something your weak at you proceed to throw yourself whole sale at it...sadly your gut instincts were right. There really IS something your missing here and for the life of you can't figure out. Programming the other stuff meanwhile is much MUCH easier.

Very little is known about how AI work considering there is special black sites that are used to generate them or you have to rely upon a super. This is for humans though and they only know of a few kinds much less means of AI. The alien meanwhile know or knew of more. Sadly much of what they use humans are incapable of figuring out so far.

For the Combine outside of certain exceptions(like supers) most of their AI is collected from alien specie members who are REALLY good at it hence the popular belief the Combine has such fantastic AI. That is believed to even be a bit better then Republic AI on average. This is apparently true as Combine has records available of them testing it out with captured Republic AI and their own in house stock.

Many kinds of AI are contained within a black box or core that seem to be very important to the AI. Some others however have something akin to a 'brain' that isn't contained like that however they are all renowned for its astounding complexity as an 'artificial' brain.

In general the field that is AI is NOT a simple field at all. Its basically neurology but with machines and robots instead. Saying its complicated subject is putting it very mildly.

One day, there's a good chance we'll replace most if not all our fleshy brain with robotic upgrades, while continuing to be the sentient thinking being we are now.

We'll be free of our sisters lobotomy, and we'll think at the pace of a computer. . or an AI.

If we're going to do that, and if AI involves what is essentially artificial neurology, we ought to start studying the brain too.

If we're going to rebuild our brain, and better, let's study up on everything grey matter. Our research team already operated on our head so I'm sure there are some brain surgeons we can talk to, and I'm sure there's plenty of surgical classes we can take.

You start to study neurology and proceed to enlist into some classes related to the brain as well as surgery next semester.

The brain is complicated and much of the artificial neurons is actually just some gene modded grown stuff. There IS some mechanical stuff but that tends to be more...unwieldy and harder to use properly. Body tends not to like such things without the proper safeguards and aren't so easy to specially tailor for someone in particular unlike the biomods.

You are able to easily create larger synthetic brains sadly they DO require more support then the smaller and lonelier ones. As for teaching them to make more...that is easy once you provide the programming and means they do so effectively. Combining them took a little work but soon enough they were sharing their computing capacity.

Overall not to difficult if time consuming to set up.

The brain is already a computer, that uses organic components. If you can upgrade something with superior synthetic components,

As for the hacking, it's not as if our organic brain isn't hackable anyway. The difference is we'll be more immune to PSI, and we'll train to be a SUPER hacker.

When we get there, we won't fear being hacked, it'll be mofo's trying to get into our mind that'll be shitting their pants.

I'm sorry, but asking questions about AI shouldn't make someone go mad.

I have to understand different mind sets to do what I want. The first steps are questing and seeing their point of view. Piecing together how they came to see things. Talking about likes and dislikes getting to the roots of them.

I will not lie it's not fun or easy most of the time. Yet I get those people. Why some become disconnected from humanity and why others have irrational thoughts.

Understanding is all that is needed. To understand something different, you ask why. Don't let your own outlook affect judgement. Don't assume, just talk and see, slowly, why they are them.

(Dam you work and Phone. I will have to finish this later.)

Super geniuses don't typically bother with those things too much something to do with getting in the way as bizarre as that sounds. Then again super brains something that small could very will inhibit them instead of aid unless its special or your more normal so the boost is most useful."

If you were to lose a leg, or an arm, does that make you less of a human? If you were to replace parts of your body with machine, like abigail does, does that make you less human?

Humanity does not lie in the body but in the mind. Your mind, and who you are. /you/ are ultimately human, in and of yourself. And nothing can ever change that.

The feels of love in your heart and chemicals in your brain. It's more than just your brain, it's more that you. It's the things you build up around your self. Your homies, your wants and your self.

And you honestly believe we aren't capable of creating bio-synthetic bodies, clones, or android forms capable of feeling thus? Or accurately replicating the mechanisms for it?

Let us not also forget that there are advanced VR programs just as capable of mimicing those sensations, emotions, and feelings in an artificial manner as well.

It is chemistry and bio-feedback. All of which, given a genius intelligence and time, can be recreated to exact specifications. And can be felt whether in this world, or the virtual one.

>It's more than just your brain, it's more that you. It's the things you build up around your self. Your homies, your wants and your self.
All of these are still obtainable and have nothing to do with the ability to manipulate one's mind within a machine as well as within a body(s).

>You lose the package that was your human self by removing that much.
Nothing will be removed, on the contrary, a great many things will be gained.

Our consciousness will still be housed in a living breathing body of tissue, as much as possible, but we will give it the ability to spread beyond the limits of our organic form.

The feels of love in your heart and chemicals in your brain. It's more than just your brain, it's more that you. It's the things you build up around your self. Your homies, your wants and your self.
But. . .lots of other species are capable of that too. Mutants, aliens, etc. That doesn't make one exclusively human.

Your honey words are just trying to tempt people. We don't need to replicate what we already have. Your mimics of life and being human do not any where near fit it.

While some things are still obtainable as a machine. It will sorely be lacking to feelings.

By gained you mean replaced.

Limits! You son of a bitch, well more us, you are already thinking we have fucking limits? We maybe different than a machine, but your are lying if you think we have limits. We are a person with super potential! We can lead people to a new level. Yet you say we have limits, that is wrong!

I am, if anything, a Steele. And we would not have gotten here had we lacked just that very thing.

We all want power, Abigail, and Petyr, the difference is how we achieve it.

> That soul part that let's humans do magic, the power of one's mind to do psi and Intuition another part of humanity that is very strong.
Each of which are denied us for various reasons, we have not tapped into Psi-potential, nor magical potential, and thus have no need for them as of now.

Besides, those aren't very scientific in nature.

>It will sorely be lacking to feelings.
I disagree, especially when you consider Bio or organic sciences.

>ou are already thinking we have fucking limits? We maybe different than a machine, but your are lying if you think we have limits.
We do have limits. Right now and this very moment.

Until we work on synergizing our mind with the machine, we can never act upon it in the same way. We'll not be able to control entire fleets of ships as though we were at their helm, see every single camera in every hallway through our own eyes, control every turret, manage robotic forces or even fight as individual units, all from the saftey of our own body, and any number of things a mind capable of controlling machines can do. Not until we PUSH those limits.

if you can find a way we can do all of that without actually going into machines, be my guest. I would love to have us find out we have Psi-potential and use that to specifically do these things.

What if you want the differences in the races talk to Genie, I didn't make them.

If you want me to tell you about the small differences in cultures of human beings. How each of us are human, but here we are with differences every were. Some things shared and others not. That would take longer and get out of my range of abilities.

Yet I can say mutants are different than us in a lot of ways. There is shared characteristics, yet they are taken to a different place than us. Granted once again I didn't make them, so I could be wrong.

>>42592091
I'm taking about the person I'm speaking with, not the character. You can have all riches and be smart, that will not make you power hungry or greedy to the point of over doing.

I want power, I want to control lots of things. Yet I never over step my limits. I take, I make, I give and I improve to do better again. I share with friends and give things were I can to help improve.

Yet I still want more... It sucks, but I control it and don't let it take me.

>>42591990
(Round 3!)
If you are such a person. Why did you fear death from someone who gave us this power we wield? If we had power we should have used it and held our ground. The wealth that greed can give should have saved us.

Yet here we stand a dog to a master who watches us with not faith. We try to make friends and fail. We over step our limits and let greed push us into all most frying our self.

We are meek...

Nothing is denied to those that want it. You just need to look in the right place. If you truly had power you could have taken it.

No! You are just putting them on us with thoughts like that.

We can do anything we put our mind to and still not have to switch it. We make friends, create AI, build trust and everything will move as it should. Faith in others will make us stronger. We do not need to take it all into our selves. We can move the world with just a few words. The rest can take care of it self as the pieces fall into place.

>Why did you fear death from someone who gave us this power we wield? If we had power we should have used it and held our ground. The wealth that greed can give should have saved us.
A lust for power is not the same as having power, as having the latter usually means less of the former and vice versa.

Wealth is not power, nor is power wealth in and of itself.

>Yet here we stand a dog to a master who watches us with not faith.
Which we intend to change in due time.

>We try to make friends and fail. We over step our limits and let greed push us into all most frying our self.
Yes, there is risk. But there are no gains taken withour risks. How many times did Abigail herself risk everything, nearly killing herself, in trying to step over bounds, to smash through them and triumph over them? Out of a greed for power, or ambition, but she did exactly that.

Are we to shirk in the same face of danger?

>We will never meet Doctor Volk with that kind of talk.
Magic is not science. Magic is magic.

>Maybe you are not meant for a master mind roll. Leading people and shaping things with the right words.
And can tell you're not meant for mastermind either.

Leaders, right words, and strong tongue and leading from the front. Those are the traits of a Commander, like Abigail, or the Hax commander. Rallying men and inspiring them.

A mastermind works for himself to achieve his own plots, often from behind the scenes. Give him a goal, and he will do it. It wasn't the inspiring speeches of the Hax mastermind that won the day, but the things she did behind the scenes, for herself, to fulfill her own goals.

>Faith in others will make us stronger. We do not need to take it all into our selves.
Masterminds speciality is manipulating events on their own. To make THEMSELVES strong enough to fullfil their own plots.

It's not faith in others that make them strong, it's the ability to manipulate them to fulfil their needs.

In Genie's own words.

>Science is the study of all things! Never let that limit you.
Hey, if we want to be the first guys to study Magi-science. . .sure. Might be interesting. I don't know how we can start that though, I imagine there are magic classes.

>We are going down this path of changing our selves and not the path of a master of the mind. Study, plot, take and lead people into the traps. Twist there worlds onto our controlled field and make the puppets dance.
We are changing ourselves to give us the tools we need to do exactly that.

Information is power, and if we are uplinked and in control of the system, we have all the information.

Imagine being able to hear every conversation, see every nook and cranny, all without anyone realizing it.

There is power in machines, every AI knows it, some even tried to use it. It's an entire field that will give us ample power to change the world, in addition to our already super self.

Those like yourself actually turn out to be among the most busy of the lot. Rarely do they come out of their abodes/labs....like ever. Its honestly tad bit frightening. Many of them even go through the lengths of sending a 'replacement' to attend their classes for them or if they do go personally they tend to be some of their 'creations' along. Otherwise if possible and preferably they just have someone else do it for them.

Unsurprisingly they are also among the most avoided among the supers. This includes yourself by the way. You failed to notice any super masterminds the only ones who noticed were the super geniuses.

These super geniuses need replamcements to do the menial work, while they themselves focus on. . .whatever it is they do.

I vote we study this, exactly how they send the replacements or whoever they hire to do the dirty work. I think we might be able to develop a bot substitute that we can market as being much more capable.

If we can train our robotics skills and develop superior replacements for them, that they'll be interested in using, it might be a way we can get closer to the other geniuses.

You attempt to create a replacement for super genius menial labor. However you ran into quite the pickle in regards to it. Mostly in the fact that 1 you aren't entirely sure what their individual tastes/needs are and more importantly 2 there is just too goddamn many stuff for those workers to do. They wouldn't be expected to handle 'just' simple chores. After all we are talking the work a super genius would expect.

For the first time you found yourself freezing up over the problems that stand before you in regards to creating a robotic substitute who is actually much more capable.

Hmm, I like that we are challenging ourselves at least.

In the absence of being able to ask their individual tastes, a healthy dosage of deduction is required. We simply need to observe any patterns or the routines of these replacements, and do some educated guesswork and inferences.

Concerning capability, that's gonna require some upgraded processing capacity by the bots. Perhaps adding additional "brainpower" via an interlinked system of stationary hubs of computer processing, which the brain hives can tap into for additional computing ability.

The last bit is making them capable of performing the things needed of a Super Genius. We should model that off of the things we need Super Mastermind in classes, how the bots can be made to do the things we need, and then work on upgrading them in that capacity to specifically serve a super genius.

From your observation all they appear to do is simple tasks or serving as a stand in replacement for their super genius. While you were able to easily identify all of that stuff(which turned out to be quite a bit). Sadly you were unable to figure out what it is they did INSIDE the lab and assisting the super genius in there. That would require actually gaining access.

So meanwhile you easily hooked up some brain hubs attached to wifi that bots could tap into whenever it was required.

The last part when the engineering of the bots you had a stroke of genius! Mostly in the form of designing a helper bot that would be perfect for yourself and hopefully good for others too. Problem is there is just too much uncertainty but at the very least your customized helper bots suit you to the T.

Those two super geniuses who did meet you on the other hand were also uninterested in the helper bots. Simply stating that super geniuses all got around to dealing with their help need their own way and are most unlikely to be interested in such a product.

And so much more.

But first of all he'll need to be re-adpated to allow us allow us to use our mind to to control through him and the body. Then we should develop a sturdy robotic chasis and see exactly how strong, fast, and flexible we can make it, and upgrade it from there.

To acquire such high quality materials...they are gonna have to be specially requested from the family and then ordered. The stuff to allow bots to compete with supers is not by any means cheap. As a matter of fact its so expensive that it even gives megacorps pause.

Bizarrely enough however the family(your elder sister) allowed it. However she refused to send you anything that is one of a kind or cannot be reused/recycled. However you soon were able to get to work.

The robotic chassis is the first part you completed. Its of distinctly high quality being strong, tough, and flexible. Arguably the only fault is its heaviness but given the power of a bot that isn't exactly much of a problem especially if you throw in a few hover or anti grav items to reduce the strain.

From what you have found however much of super tech is so out there that even many other supers can't easily figure each other's stuff out. As for normals figuring out super tech it can take a VERY long time assuming it happens at all.

In other words you ran into things that blocked you every time you got close. Not even the Combine apparently wants the tech to be so easily let out even for a perspective student.

Yet more roadblocks. And not the kind you can punch through either.

Let's try to develop our own variant of Super Tech, something that is uniquely ours in nature and design.

Maybe we can start small instead of big like a giant robot. Perhaps a handheld super device or super weapon, like a super laser pistol or something.

You work on designing a new piece of smaller tech. Figuring if its smaller it should be easier right? I mean you have super potential so you should be able to produce supreme tech right?

Or so you thought.

Turns out creating such tech is much harder then you thought...you are beginning to understand why all those super geniuses hardly ever bother leaving their damned labs.

Do you really think creating a piece of super tech is so easy?

No.

But we need something to Impress Volk. Which won't be easy either.
And to show our devotion and passion to science and technology to Ziji.

Between AI's advanced computer integration which we'd ne or which aren't accessible until next semester, none of the other super geniuses very interested in collaborating, and generally a lack of any other avenues for something big and impressive, at least a Super robot might be one.

Heh, I want to see about turning some helper bots into info gathers. Hacking in the real world needs ground work more that using a computer to get info.

So I put forth the idea of making sell able bots for normal students. That house Audio and Video Collection for us. We can then make basic AIs to go through it.

Hopefully they will shine and others may take them. Then we may learn things people wish to hide. Just need to make sure it's real actions stay hidden.

You know, I been thinking.

What is it about Geniuses in Civs that we treasure and value so, devoting huge resources to them? But here we have a hard time figuring out a specific path to put Petyr on that doesn't end in brick walls and REDACTED everywhere?

We have had tons of heroes break Redacted stuff before, and solve the impossible.

I think the reason might be a lack of need. In other civs, we greatly needed things of them. Research and development, so we built them labs, found them resources, searched in strange and exotic places for samples and came up with ideas.

I have an idea. Why don't we look up on some remote civs or colonies on other planets, struggling with things, and offer our help? See what kind of problems them have, and put this super brain of ours to work coming up with SCIENCE to assist them? Blueprints, designs, and stuff we can come up with at home, that they can use to build.

We can even practice using long range bot control!

I vote we search for civs in need or with strange circumstances and anomalies, so we can start helping them. I mean, we're not a real scientist, but a super potential student is better than nothing right?

Hmm, I think we can do both of these right?

Market robots and on the side look up some civs in need?

Because I vote that.
