In Yggdrasil, we can drop $20 and get an XP Boost that should get us to level 30 at least within a day. We won't have access to the Shop in the New World, which means we have to do everything the hard way.

That's true, but Iron Plate Adventurers are around level 10, and come in groups of 4 to 6.
Even level 3 goblins and level 6 ogres looked like they came in groups of 6 and 4 respectively.

I mean, yeah, you're right that the vast majority of people and mobs are going to be under level 10.
But the kind of people that would cause us trouble (Adventurers) aren't going to be regular. Yeah, we'll get the chump Copper Plates, but then it's going to escalate to Iron pretty quick.
I think you need to consider some of this stuff some more, since we're going to be on our own versus enemy parties.
