You calm yourself mentally. It won’t do to show your stress in this situation. Rather, it will only serve to lower your chances in this situation. Steeling yourself and reigning in your visible distress, you raise your hand, gesturing to Soren.

”Soren. My condition is unimportant now. The situation may be dire. I need you to patrol the immediate area around the guild. Take 2 Knights with you, do not engage any hostiles and report back to me your findings.” Soren draws himself back to attention, saluting as his face returns to a state eerily similar to the one he had when he wasn’t speaking. It’s strangely calming to see him make such an expression.

“Garth, Orik. You’re with me. The rest of you, guard the Master with your lives.”

And with that the odd Imp marches off with his selected Knights, quickly exiting toward the Maze. You relax back against the throne, habitually wiping your brow though no sweat has accrued there.

You glance at another Knight.

“You.” You point, the guard reeling up to attention. “Grab me some water, please.” The man nods rapidly.

“Right away, sir!” He rushes off the way Soren left. You wait for a few minutes for him to return, and he does so promptly with a crystal goblet. You take it gratefully, sipping from it almost as soon as he hands it to you. The water is cold and fresh, something completely alien to the DMMO-RPG system.

You begin to think over the last few minutes’ events. NPCs are talking and responding to nonstandard and nonprogrammed ordered. You can feel, hear, and taste with perfect accuracy, with no limiter system. There is only one conclusion you can draw from such a situation, that this is no longer a game. This is something more than that. Whether it’s another reality, another type of VR simulator, or just your own delusions, you cannot say now. What you do know is that you need to be careful, as you are unaware of what these ‘awakened’ NPCs are capable of.

“Hey there Master.” A low, quiet voice whispers from above you. “You okay? Your aura is roiling.”
You turn abruptly, the water in your hands splashing slightly as you do. A blue haired beauty is resting at the head of the throne above you, two small fangs lightly pressed against her lower lip. She smiles lazily down at you, her red eyes alight with mirth.

“Well?” She queries as you sit there, stunned.

You sigh. This is becoming too much. The girl’s smile only widens at your response, revealing more of her fangs. Yep, she’s a vampire.

“Please get down from there and explain to me who you are.” You speak in a near monotone, tired voice.

“As you command, my master.” She grins and jump over the chair, doing a neat little flip and landing on the table before you without a sound. Now that you can see her more properly you can see that she is wearing matte black leather armour, with boots and gloves to match. She has an four knives, one on her right arm, another on her left flank, and the final two strapped to her torso. She grins playfully, leaning back slightly as she rests on the round table.

“I am Karis Fulton, my master. Creation of PinPin Aurora in all of his magnificence. I am the hidden blade of our organization. Your hidden protector and clandestine supporter. I would bow, but…” She gestures to her lazy position. “I’m more comfortable here, if it’s all the same to you.”

You think back, and are promptly embarrassed as you remember yourself flipping through the menus disinterestedly after upgrading the guild with a Blacksmith. Shit.
“W-well. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Karis. If you will, what is your skill set? What can you do?”

She smiles, her eyes closing as she stretches back, looking eerily similar to a cat as she does so.

“It is good to hear you say that, my master.” She smiles, before sitting up, almost appearing to be at attention as she speaks in a much more formal tone. “I am Karis Fulton, and my specialties are in stealth, theft, infiltration, and assassination. I am also relatively adept at spellcaster targeting, as I have trained my magical defense and agility to great levels. Other than that, I am a serviceable cook and can provide food for myself and my allies when in a natural setting. That is in addition to my natural vampiric abilities.”

She smiles at you after the short speech. “Will that be sufficient, master?”

“Yes, it will, Karis.”

You look inwardly. It seems you have evaluated most things in the guild, both before and after the… event. What will you do now?

Ah. Most excellent then, my dear and honorable namefag, let us toast to our agreement and wax philosophic about this quest and what may be. Though most of the game menus are no longer accessible, I do believe that the guild Roster and Guild Hall NPC list are still viewable by us as admin and whichever NPC is left in any leadership position. Much like how Albedo knows the full list of floor guardians and we can assume Sebas has of the Pleiadas Maids in Overlord proper.

I am curious if we will be able to check such lists as well.

You decide to wait until Soren returns and receive his report. You order Karis off the table and to make herself comfortable in a chair. She does so without a sound and makes herself busy playing with one of her blades, looking at you periodically as she does so and flashing a smile.

You turn inwardly, still sipping your water as you mull over things you’ve already thought of. Nothing new comes to mind, so you sit there drinking your water until you hit the mirror bottom of your goblet. At the bottom you see your reflection – that of a simple angel of the lowest order. A herald, your wings are made of downy white fur, and even the simple robe you wear makes the image more complete. Your shaved head reflects the light of the torches dully.

After a short time, Soren returns with the two Knights, untouched by battle or worse for wear at all. He kneels, waiting for your hail, though you see him glance at Karis for a moment before he does so.

“You may speak, Soren.”

“Very well, master. It appears that the surrounding area is of a cavernous nature. Upon leaving the standard guild area, we found that there were a multitude of tunnels and passageways that weren’t there previously. Upon further exploration, we found a number of tunnels that lead to the surface after a few kilometers of travel. Outside we found similar scenes, but suffice it to say that we are currently situated in a mountain range, and our glorious is embedded in the mountainside.”

“The only creatures we found were Kobolds, small humanoid lizards who posed little threat to our group. They scampered away upon sensing us, and other than a few large forms out in the overworld.”

“Karis, Soren. We’re going to feel out the kobold’s locations. Maybe test their strength a bit.”

The pair nod, standing at attention before following you out of the guild. You march at a quick pace through the maze of your guild with practiced ease, though you slow when you reach the normal exit to your guild and the exit is no longer a hillock, but rather a complex of further tunnels. It’s at this point when you direct Soren to lead. He nods, raising his shield and beginning to lead the way through a number of further tunnels, winding down deeper into the mountain until he motions for the party to stop.

It appears that you stand at the end of a larger cavern, within which stand two parties of kobolds, who are bickering amongst themselves over what seems to be a larger form. Your augmented sight allows you to see that the form is a fallen body, though you cannot see it well enough to determine if it draws breath or not.

Soren growls, “The beasts have the poor sod on the ground! We must charge now to save him!”
Karis sighs, “This is too early to do anything for whomever it is. He or she is probably dead and we can’t risk our safety on such a poor quarry.”

There are eight kobolds. In YGGDRASSIL, kobolds could be anywhere from level 1 to 25, though these appear to be of a weaker variety. You can’t tell their level by sight alone, however, as your HUD is not working.

“And who are we if we can’t hunt such a poor quarry, we fight! Karis, pick off the unarmored ones. Soren, protect me if they charge.”

You glance around the cavern, now that your Servants spring into motion. It’s only lit by the poor torches that the kobolds carry, but you can see well enough. The tunnel you come from seems to be the only exit, so if the kobolds want to run, it’ll have to be through you. Though thankfully, for the same reason, you can retreat if things get dire.

Your trio moves forward in formation, Soren smashes his shield in hail. “Beasts, face your death!” He calls out brazenly. The kobolds hiss and growl, forming a loose skirmish formation. Some appear fearful, but as the only exit is behind you, they brandish their weapons and prepare for battle!

COMBAT COMMENCES! MAY THE STRONGEST SURVIVE AND THE WEAK FALL BENEATH THEIR HEELS!!!

You try something that you’ve suspected for some time now – spellcasting. Instead of using the HUD like you previously were able to, you turn your attention inward. You feel a pressure within your chest, almost like a small ball. You reach with your mind into yourself, plucking a little of the ball and forming it with your mind. You speak the words.
“Summon Angel I!”

You cast your hands out, a small ball of light flying from your hands before bursting into a cute, tiny creature. The cherub salutes you, the serious look on its face only making the scene seem more surreal as it turns to fight the tiny lizards. You feel a little winded after using the spell, and it felt clumsy. You feel that if the spell hadn’t been so routine, you would have failed.

After the spell is cast, you rush forward, your wings letting you fly forward on the empty air to tackle a kobold! …or it would if there weren’t seven others to defend it! You find yourself repelled quite handily by the kobold militia, and as you back off you feel a few deep gashes where their blades and arrows flew by you.

“STAT BOOST!” Soren roars as he rushes forward with you. As you rush forward, he bellows, “SHIELD GUARDIAN.” After you’re pushed back, he pushes forward, his blade slashing forward almost imperceptibly as he slashes a kobold across its leathery throat. You begin to feel a pressure begin to build up in the air around him.

Karin dashes around the melee, dodging in and about the kobold force as she looks for an opening. Finding one easily, she plunges her blade into its vertebrae before dancing away, leaving the kobold to shudder and die with a scream.

Your two groups reform after the brief clash, though much closer. Two of the kobold’s number have fallen, though they have wounded you with your failed assault.

You stay behind Soren for now, having learned your lesson on that one assault. Thankfully, now your passive effects begin to take effect. Your cloak becomes warm to the touch as you begin to gather a spell. You feel the gashes close over as you call out.

“Holy bolt!” The bolt flies from your hand, striking one of the rearward kobolds in the chest. He flies back, smashing against the cavern wall, dead.

You then take a moment to gather yourself, drawing the mana within you into a shining aura that settles around your robe. Your movements are slightly stiff due to the palpable aura, but nothing to write home about.

After you finish your spellcasting, you notice two things. First. The kobolds are burning. That’s unsurprising, due to your cloak’s passive effect.
The second, is that Soren isn’t wearing his armour anymore, isn’t so human looking anymore, and is currently using a curved bardiche to bisect a kobold. The creature now eight feet before you is now a seven foot tall hellbeast, who has sprouted a pair of vestigial wings. His skin is a deep scarlet, with his armour having morphed into a bonelike structure that wraps around his form.
“DIE!” The beast roars, his blade slashing through the not routing kobolds with abandon.
Well. It’s obvious that combat has ended. Though your odd Imp is now a beserking Hellspawn. What do you do?

Taken aback for a moment, you gather yourself up and think for a moment. What will calm Soren down? Before long, you find the answer. His duty to you. You call out to the raging hellion and order.

“Soren. Guildmaster Bezziak orders you to attention. Failure to do so will be taken as insubordination.”

Almost immediately Soren’s form dissipates, his armour almost seeming to recoalesce, his bardiche splitting into his sword and shield, and his skin returning to its normal hue.

“Yes, master Bezziak! I understand and obey!” And after that brief word, he’s back to the Soren you created. Damn. Your settings have really taken hold with this guy. You never specified this alternate form though, or those abilities… a product of this new world, perhaps?

Anyway, now that Soren is dealt with, you kneel down to check on the fallen person. Flipping him over you find him to be a stocky fellow with a flourishing beard. A dwarf! You smile slightly, it appears that this world has the same races as YGGDRASSIL! At least that is reassuring at least. He seems to just be knocked unconscious, as he has no visible entry wounds on his body. A quick inspection reveals a plethora of mining equipment nearby. Damn, a dwarf with a huge beard and mining equipment. How stereotypical.

What do you do? Karis and Soren have taken to checking the kobold bodies for coins and loot, though they’re keeping an eye on you.

You take some time to go over what useful stuff the kobolds have. It seems they had a handful of gold coins, though they are quite different than the YGGDRASSIL coins that you’re used to. They’re much lighter and have different insignias emblazoned on them

Unless you want some shitty equipment that your blacksmith wouldn’t even touch, you leave the ruined equipment and relax near the dwarf. It only takes a few minutes for him to stir. You stand, as do the other two. You have ordered them to have a relaxed demeanor, though be ready to grasp your weapons.

The dwarf wakes with a start, standing up quickly and glancing around with a mad gleam in his eyes.

“Get offer me you slimy var-“ before they fall upon you. “Just who in the hell are you?” He looks around him now with fresh eyes, looking at the dead kobolds and your two companions. Touch me a (paladin?) martial has melee attacks that exceed 10th level spells that he can use at will while their equivalent has a 4~ day cooldown timer. Supposedly he figured out a 100% damage mitigation setup that everyone else got immediately banned from replicating once he finally achieved it and the devs noticed.

Mostly from reading the Lns.
Touch Me's reality slash is equivalent to "super" (above 10) tier magic which has a 4ish day cooldown however there has been no indications of any sort of limiter or drawback for Touch me to use it. It's possible I remembered the tier of reality slash wrong although a martial being able to spam lv 10 spells like they're normal swings is still pretty damn OP.

The city wall part was in the crossover with Princess Altina.
THe continent part was in the Lns although i forget which volume. Given that i doubt most of the people in the NW could survive actually seeing a martial cleave a continent it could easily be an exaggeration which is why I specified hearsay. The NW residents really don't comprehend anything above lv 60 and are notoriously bad judges of power since lv 20-30 are what people arrive at after a combination of insane grinding, some misc talent that gives them a leg up over everyone else by far, and a lifetime of luck.

OH! To make things crystal clear for those who didn't notice, I'm calculating experience through binary, as in the LN it takes as much experience to reach level N from level 1 to level N-1.

Basically:

Level 0 to 1: 1 exp
Level 1 to 2: 2 exp
Level 2 to 3: 4 exp
Level 4 to 5: 8 exp
Level 5 to 6: 16 exp
Level 6 to 7: 32 exp
Level 7 to 8: 64 exp
Level 8 to 9: 128 exp
Level 9 to 10: 256 exp

And so on. I miscalculated EXP for the level 5's it seems, so they either have 8 exp or have leveled. I'll check here in a bit.
