As he requests, you demonstrate the Spirit Bits. Popping out all six, flying them around a little, firing a couple shots into the air, then demonstrating the shield, barrier, and amplify functions. Konpei is impressed.

And then he mimics them perfectly. Flawlessly. Wow. That claim isn't much of an exaggeration, or maybe your skill is just that... easy, to him at least. "Hoho! Wonderful, wonderful." He then looks you over. "Ah, but it seems like you have not quite learned managing your Ki completely. Not yet, at least."

"Wait, 'managing' it?" you question. Well here we go.

Konpei seems enveloped in a white aura and... huh. His Power Level isn't even a tenth of what yours is, at least from what you can sense. But there's something about it that makes him seem... far, far more in control of it. And most surprising of all, while you felt a small dip when he used the Spirit Bits himself, it's gone now. "Humans have the ability to learn this naturally. In fact, many Earthlings do. The ability to passively restore your Ki."

...this is going to be SO useful.

The four of you spend a few months learning from Konpei, developing this "Ki Regen" ability. What he claims is true, Trip manages it easily. No, more than easily, it's like something she should have been capable of all along, if only she had been told it sooner. You on the other hand take longer, as does Goku. While here you do manage to throw him something for his birthday. Mostly a short little trip around the area, just the two of you. He's much more... well, open about how much he likes spending time with you. Training's fun, sure, but there's a bit more than that on his mind. By your own next birthday, both you and Goku have managed this ability, you before he did.

Piccolo on the other hand is troubled by it. No matter how he tries, he just can't really seem to get it down. Though he doesn't let that stop him from his regular training. In fact, he seems to keep trying to develop a new skill, something like the Dodonpa, but with greater penetrating power, something that seems to bore into a target. Takes a very long time to complete, and he's yet to come up with a name for it that doesn't sound completely dorky. Like, he seriously tried to call it "Demonic Piercing Light Murder Gun," and other such names. Piccolo, kiddo, really. Really.

More than that, you MASTER the skill, to the point of being able to match her, Launch, and Tien with it. Oh this will be ever so helpful.

As Goku and Piccolo train on improving their own skills, Piccolo finally learning Ki Regen, you also take some time to just... really hang out with Trip. She needs it. You and Goku try to find out what everyone else has been doing, and decide to go for a Christmas Party get-together. He also mentions that he's been looking to get you a special present, this Christmas. Wonder what it could be?
