"Good morning" -says our kitty (lion) sister while holding a bowl and mixing the dough inside it.
Who gave her that apron and chef hat? they look so cute on her... well, she's a cute girl. Everything looks cute on her
"Good morning, master" -says the harpy, and walks over towards us, holding her wrists crossed behind her as she smiles at us

They are both already cleaned up and dressed up. Did Zoe and this harpy clean the room already? Should I praise them, or tell them not to pamper the others?

Uhmm... even if they were leveled up, they don't look as mature as other beastkin do in the same circumstances. These harpies.. they're about only 2 years old, right? but they look as "young adults" for their race.

Well, they are all rather petite, but this one seems to be on the shorter end of the spectrum, even for a harpy. I guess they fly using muscle rather than magic, so they need to be small, but... this one is just 1.40m tall, she's small even among her sisters.

Her hair and feathers are pink... yup, they're pink, she looks like a strawberry. Nina's are black and somewhat sensual, I guess, but this one's like a doll or a character from a children's cartoon.

And, she still got up with Zoe to clean up and cook for everyone. So, she's the hard working type? I guess she deserves her own name... what would be good...

A hard working but petite girl... uhmm... all the synonims I can think of for hardworking... none of them sound like a name. Indeed, as we arrive at the girl's room, we find that they're busy at work cleaning the room, with the harpies riding on eachother's shoulders to reach the roof and wipe it clean.

Well, nevermind... they're still sticky with honey and feathers. Lyann is busy trying to clean a harpy on the tub, carefully using soap as to not hurt her feathers while trying to get the honey off...

It looks really hard. Portia is already clean, and dressed with a long, soft white robe 'closed' right under her bellybutton with a big black button. It shows a lot of cleavage... well, in her culture, that's positively prudish, isn't it?

Her hair is pulled back into a clean ponytail, leaving her neck and shoulders exposed. It is secured in place with a big white lace that makes a nice contrast with her dark hair, and goes nicely with the robe.

Lyann is trying hard to be as careful as possible while being as quick as possible. Yeah, cleaning feathers from honey without plucking them out seems hard... but honestly, it seems like it would be a fair punishment if they lost a few feathers after that.

"Master, good morning!" -shouts our Nina, and we are quickly swarmed by petite harpies.
"Good morning" -says Portia, bowing slightly.

Well, since she's so tall, its more like she's leaning down towards our level. Her head is still above us, even now, though. Also, her cleavage, soft and generous, looks as if it was about to spill out from under her robe.

We kneel down next to Lyann, and start helping her out.

Feathers are much softer than the softest fur, uh? well, their bodies are meant to be fully developed already, but they are petite all around, aren't they?

The way she holds the glass with both hands is cute. Well, of course she would. Up until recently, she was a baby. She's about the same age as Zoe, but she was a child until two nights ago... still, such a pretty girl acting like that... it's cute.

We are joined by Mako, Aritsu and Sinoe, Lazard, Okaba and Aura, Asmund Dawn, then finally Honoria, in that order.

Aura seems to love pancakes, albeit she had tried them before.

Ah, we are based on Light Novels and old RPG games. In the shield bro novel (actually http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Tate_no_Yuusha_no_Nariagari Rise of the Shield Hero), where it is mentioned that demihuman children age quickly if they level up, in order to better survive in hostile environments.

There's something of a romantic comedy thing going on because a raccoon girl is leveled up and falls in love with the main character, but he keeps seeing her as a child for years and years.

This thread borrows heavily from a lot of LNs and RPGs, and I borrowed that bit from Shield Hero, so the beastkin races age quickly when they are leveled up. Portia and Zoe are both 5 and 6 years old, but they look like idealized young adults of their races thanks to the leveling up and stacking of stats like constitution dexterity and appearance.

Of course, this is meant to help them age both physically and mentally, but our MC, as a person from our world, is meant to constantly kick himself whenever he catches himself thinking lewd things about them. For him, Zoe, Stella, Portia and the harpies are children because of their chronologically age, even though they are mentally, emotionally, and of course, physically, more akin to grown ups.

Except Stella because we pamper her so much so she's more like a 10 years old. Portia was 5 until just 2 nights ago so she has a lot of mental and emotional growth to do still. She grew up because she wanted to be smart and useful to help us rescue her missing mom from the [ERROR]s that took her.

Does that help? it's meant to be confusing. Hell, our MC has memories of his former life, where he was a 36yrs old chemical engineer, but on this world right now, he's a very tall 14 (aaalmost 15) years old.

For example. we originally bought Zoe when we found her on a slaver's stockade. She was originally just under a year old at the time, but already developed physically (but only physically). We emerge out of the orange tree in the backyard. The honey faeries in the greenhouse panic and shut themselves into their hive when the 6ft tall spidergirl comes out of nowhere.

"Ah! your house is very pretty!" -says Portia as she looks around

Well, since the family is so large now, dad bought a house large enough to count as a small manor rather than a large house.

There is room enough for a greenhouse in the back, after all, a gazebo in the front, and we even have a shooting range to try out spells in the backyard.

"Brother, welcome back!" -Athena (our blood-related little sister) runs out of the house to greet us.

She's a cute child with long, blonde drill hair. Doubtlessly, she will be breaking boys hearts in 5 or 6 years. Of course, at that time, we'll become the ogre older brother that chases them all away.

People don't seem to be afraid of a huge man with a wolf head, but still look with suspicion a small faery 5 inches tall just because the first is qualified as beastkin, and thus "people", while the later is a "monster".

Actually, isn't that common sense? just because someone is grey, blue, black, winged, horned, or has an animal bodypart, you don't automatically fear them.

On the other hand, you are meant to be wary of monsters.

This is the common sense of this world. Are we just biased due to the common sense of our previous world?

As expected, she has some trouble fitting in through the back door, so we go around with the excuse of showing her the garden, and go into the house through the double doors on the front, while Athena rides on our shoulders.

Well, right now we have 5 biologically related younger siblings, and 2 we adopted into the family (Zoe and Stella). One more is not going to break the house's finances or anything.

Besides, the house is more than large enough.

Oh, also, beastkin are instantly able to tell when someone is a real adult and when they have been "leveled up". Well, other races can't, but for beastkin it is as obvious as it is obvious to you that a little child is a little child. I guess you could blame it on smell, skin luster (literally baby skin), and such.

So for example, Stella and Zoe are seen as very cute and smart children by their beastkin schoolmates, while those of other races just see them as very pretty young girls who are either too naive or a tease.

It should be easy to imagine that Stella doesnt has anything against sitting on someone's lap to get petted, for example, so her beastkin classmates tend to protect her a lot

Let's see... we need to visit Grunmir to acquire magical accesories for Portia.. we have no intention of taking her into danger like dungeons or the like, but if we are shopping jewelry, there's no reason it can't also be useful and protective.

We should visit master Tazar for some fashionable clothes, as well... we could get them enchanted, but, again, we are not planning on taking her into danger, so maybe some utility stuff like self cleaning and self repairing? Her people seem to wear between very little and nothing from the waist up, while covering their legs and spider torse almost entirely, by the way.

I wonder why that is so
