The Fixer

A strange temporal construct that seemingly targets those mages and scientists who delve too deeply into the fundamentals of time and reality.

Appearing seemingly out of thin air, usually accompanied by swarms of blue butterflies, the creature destroys any research notes or documents the target has gathered and often the target themselves. The latter is the the fewer of the incidents, and appears to be tied to how closely the targets are to breakthroughs. After finishing it's current task the creature promptly disappears after breaking line of sight with all witnesses.

Scholars have often debated the exact nature of the creature, but most usually believe it targets those deemed to be too close to achieving some great revelation or invention, usually time travel of some kind. While completely mute, the creature is often expressive enough to communicate the reason for it's seemingly random attacks to those it leaves alive.

Most interestingly, or disturbingly, is that if one carefully examines the chronology of incidents it becomes clear that the creature is moving DIRECTLY from one target to another, seemingly instantaneously. As the chronology moves backward, the creature increasingly has evidence of it's next appearances on it's body. One occurrence it will bare a dried blood spatter, the next occurrence it will appear with a dripping fresh blood spatter, and the occurrence after that it will kill a target. This seems to indicate that it is moving backward through time from a specific point in the future, evidently "cleaning up" all the events in history where the temporal flow might be disturbed.

Connections have of course been made to the four dimensional god Taj Yr Akna, but no link has ever been verified.

Reposting from last thread because it was close to the bottom

I have been thinking about the nature of TTJ, and I have some new details.

First, it is, as previously noted, it is the source of emotions in the vain of guilt, like regret, embarrassment and shame, but that those are necessary for emotions like pride and love to exist. Without TTJ, everyone would be psychopaths, and in fact, psychopaths are individuals who are at least partially immune from the influence of TTJ, due to their lack of empathy.

Second, the nature of TTJ. The True Judge has no gender, although I think it has more masculine attributes than feminine ones, and most of the scions that take on the form of a gender (they too lack a true gender) tend to gravitate towards the male side of the spectrum. TTJ does have a full form, but this form does not exist in the mortal world or even the divine world, and can only exist in the strange space outside of the realm of all but the most ancient of primordials (and TLG because of course he can). The True Judge does manifest itself in the forms of scions, for various reasons. People who play MTG, think of he Eldrazi. The scions function similarly, which is part of the reason I picked that name.

Now, TTJ does care about justice, but remember, the punishment is guilt, not an outright action. Some of the scions break this mold, but even then they do nothing other than mental manipulations unless we are dealing with "Destroying the fabric of space and time" levels of fuckery. Even then, it does not manifest itself completely, rather there is a special scion for this, which I will talk about later.

More Lore for Marik because why not

Marik, despite his madness, still has a deep love for Knowledge, and will actively fight against any god that attempts to hide the truth or impede the quest for knowledge.
He allies him self with Gods who support intelligence.
There is a legend that he has a book that contains the darkest secrets of the other Gods. If that is true, who can say.

I'm having writers block at the moment, but if I come up with more, I'll post.

That would go against TLG's concept. He is not a bad guy, just a force of existence. The guy who is there when shit hits the fan. He took this role when he realised that he can't be killed or stopped. Now he just tries to keep this setting together, while looking for a way to kill or enetertain himself.
People fail to realise that TLG is not completely evil, it's just the way he prevents shit from falling apart. Not saying he doesn't like occasional mindrape, shitty puns and some good 'ol genocide, while not excluding the obviously good stuf, like saving the entire human race during the era of Fire.

Ginrein the Sweetooth
The demigod of confections and baking, he worshiped by the gingerbread guild and various other culinary wizards and professionals. He was originally a kind soul in the imperial capital who was the first (according to legend) to infuse his baked goods with magic. After months of surreptitious planning, he invented a large magic oven that identified the item being placed within it and instantly cooked it. He wished to spread his new technology, and delicious baked goods, across the land for the benefit of all.
One of the high ranking ministers of the imperial court, the high elf Terrieus Gaerimi, hated fun and saw this device as a threat to local commerce, as did many of his constituents in the breadmaker's guild. He paid off a hit-man to murder Ginrein, tossing the cook into his own oven and incinerating him before breaking the machine.
Ginrein's spirit, infused by the magicks of his legendary oven, still walks the material plane, delivering candy and baked goods for those who celebrate his feast on the x of y month.

I agree. I considered making a god to be opposed to TTJ, but I realized that TTJ is not one side of a spectrum, it is the spectrum itself. TLG is basically a commenter, sure some people hate him, but you cannot really do anything about it.

al-Elat, also known as The Tempter, is the god of depravity, impulse and acceptance. His cult was formed by the child-prophet Arash, twenty-second murderer, first of the race of Men to cast down his own father and first of his people to kill for pleasure. He is most commonly worshiped by criminals from all walks of life, shameless hedonists, and those whose ideals clash with the mores of their society. Despite this, al-Elat does not regard himself as a malevolent god; he believes that all happiness - all true happiness - must come at another's expense, thus seeking happiness in itself is depraved and all intelligent life, for whom the pursuit of happiness is so fundamental, should be considered his followers. Though the rest of the Saladian pantheon does not appear to subscribe to his logic, and as a minor deity he has very little room to enforce this claim.

While al-Elat does not always condone the actions of his followers (and he has a deep-running hatred for self-righteousness and hypocrisy), nor will he ever turn them away. All who sincerely pursue happiness are equal under al-Elat, welcome to beseech him for aid.

His symbol is the magpie and wine is usually present at his ceremonies. His association with criminality and other 'undesirable' activities means al-Elat is often worshiped as an act of rebellion in more oppressive states.

Oiala, the Vast; Force of Stasis.

Exactly what Oiala is, is unclear. It is neither divine nor arcane in nature, but it is mighty enough that even the Primordials must treat with it as a force to be reckoned with, for it is within the power of The Vast to cause the end of the world, to such an extent that even those which cannot die would be obliged to relocate to heavenly realms and rebuild the mortal realm anew, from scratch; at the cost of its own existence, for unlike the divinities, Oiala is not eternal.

Oiala orbits lazily around a giant heavenly body some ways from the world where most are concerned with, and is a force of stasis, preferring things to be nice and unchanging, orderly. Oiala is as perplexed by the divinities and the magics it perceives, incapable of channeling or manipulating them, though capable of recognizing them and cataloging their powers and effects.

Once, Oiala sought vigorously to stamp out all change and progress, but Tiranel found this intolerable, and the two nearly came to loggerheads over the matter, with Tiranel very nearly ready to force Oiala to destroy the mortal plane so it could be made anew without Oiala's interfering presence. Instead, a compromise was reached; Oiala is limited to a certain number of interventions per century, and a certain number of total interventions on the same matter, total. In return, the divinities will not directly interfere with its interventions, but its interventions are limited in scope; it may launch only one per century that mortals cannot possibly resist, a few that they have practically no chance of resisting, several that they have slim chances of resisting, and many that they have even chances of resisting.

Any time the divines make a major change to the world, however, Oiala's number of interventions allowed grow to compensate. Such changes include the elevation of mortals to divinity, the creation of new races, and major events like the destruction of empires. (cont.)

Korr, the eversleeping.
Korr has slept since time began, and is rumoured to sleep until the end of times, when he will awaken and devour all.
He is the incarnation of the end of times, and the wisdom that some day the cycle of Ballan-Sur will end.
It was from the dreams of Korr that Ong sprang,
The followers of Korr number both the doomsday priests lamenting for the painful cycle to end. But his followers also number among those that wish to contemplate that the universe is finite.
It is as his followers say, at the beginning there was only Korr, and at the end, Korr will devour all, so there will be only Korr.
Korr is hardly known by mortals, except for in the commonly used phrase "Unless Korr awakes".

So what do you say? Don't you think we need a Primordial god that ends it all, the opposing thing to Ballan-Sur.

The continent of Sparia

An ancient abandoned land, filled with mutants and demons. That land was once home to the ancient civilization of the Dragon folk, ancient race created by the Taj 'Yr Akna. They were a prospering kind, advanced both in science and magic, however, in their pride and arrogance they've opened a portal to the dimension of pure chaos, which led to their almost complete anihilation. All who were on the continent were twisted and warped by pure chaos, they started to kill each other, untill only the most powerfull creatures remained. Their mighty empire has been destroyed and remembered only by the gods and few surviving dragon folk, who managed to leave the continent in time.

Now, the breach to the chaos realm is sealed away and only the twisted shells of the most powerfull dragon folk and demons roam across the ruined cities of once mighty civilization.

However, the legend of ancient artifacts and forbidden knowledge beckon adventurers from all over the world to reach this land and claim it's secrets for themselves.

>The Scar and the Salach
The Scar is a "sacred" site for Nimhe's worshippers, and the home of the Salach, who are Nimhe's patron race whom he indirectly created.

The Scar is massive area of dead wastelands, coveredin oozing rivers of slime, deformed beasts, plants that shiver with vile intelligence, and other horrible things. How anything could live in such a place, few know.

The Scar was created when Nimhe battled Nadir and the angels, for during the battle floods of poison and choking gasses were released from Nimhe's form as he as battered and cut, not to mention the dark brand of magical energy that the twisted mistake uses to inflict pain upon others. This forever changed the land so only somethingtransformed by it's magic could survive.

The Salach were once a small tribe of humans who fled into The Scar by a rival clan. For weeks they wandered, thirsty, hungry, and sick, for they could only eat the poisoned meats of animals they could hunt.
Then one of them came upon a green puddle. This puddle was a smatter of Nimhe's own blood, spilled at his great battle with Nadir. The lone tribesman stepped in it, not caring anymore for the filth, and he was utterly transformed. Bones twisted, skin peeled, and flesh swirled as new limbs and organs sprouted.

The tribesman found he held knew vitality, and somehoe convining the rest of the tribe to take in the sickening slime, they became the first Salach. All are horribly mutated, with starnge limbs and mishappen faces, but Nimhe's blessing gives them freedom from disease and waste, as they have become it.

Oiala sometimes warps into orbit of the world, to achieve a better vantage point from which to launch its interventions. When the massive, rocky form appears in the night or day sky, mortals know that destruction is upon someone, somewhere, and very frequently Oiala's appearance in the sky is the harbinger of brilliant ochre bolts streaking from the sleek shape to the surface, with targeted destruction that ranges from annihilating a block to entire cities.

More often, Oiala's interventions take the form of mechanical entities known as Inevitables, for their unwavering devotion to Oiala's goals. The least of these take the form of mechanical angels armed with swords that hew through any material or ward as though not there; larger Inevitables are giant-sized mechanicals that spit bolts of energy or explosive shell, or which hover over the land or streak over it at incredible speeds, spitting beams and bolts of destruction. These Inevitables are not golems, though; they are thinking and capable of rational thought, and on occasion they will accept the destruction of all extant copies of a great progressive change and the death of those who know how to reproduce them in lieu of destroying those things and people personally, causing great collateral damage in the process. Attempting to deceive them is unwise, but has been done successfully in the past, and once Oiala's intervention has ended, the revelation that it was unsuccessful is not sufficient grounds to go back and finish the job.

Oiala is sometimes venerated by astrologers and those who value the status quo. It ignores all such pleas, and in fact can neither hear them, nor would it be able to manipulate prayer if it could. It wishes nothing more than to go to the place from whence it was ripped when the world was formed, but cannot grasp the arcane knowledge required. The Divines could quite easily send it home, if they knew of its desire to return, but it is too mistrustful to ask.

There has been tales of one person who was able to host the Wretch.

The Wretch made his way to a town of corruption, Psychopaths have found an unassuming town of democracy and made its political system rotten to the core. Those who were unable to leave were left to fend for themselves in this mockery of peace.

The Wretch when he found himself at the gates was beaten for his coat, at the bars shanked for his hat and his drinking flash taken when he sat down and took a nap. He did not defend himself, how could he? As a guest of this town, his code prevents him from acting out without order of a Host. In his injured state he wandered, searching for someone to take pity on him, so he could be permitted to leave once his stay inevitably causes all to hate him. The Wretch never minded being hated, He didn't know why his transgressions cause so much agony, but he tries to do his best.

A violin interrupted his thoughts, and he followed the music to its owner. A girl not much older than a child was playing a melody. He noticed that the crowds ignored her save for some spare change tossed her way.

The girl noticed the Wretch, and immediately felt an irritation from the depths from her brain. It caused her to lose tempo and sour notes started to creep into her performance. Without a warning she dragged the Wretch into a dark corner and chewed him out. She figured him a psycho who was there to bully and deride her. But the Wretch did not defend himself nor did he smile. All he did was listen as she started to tear up and hit his chest. Only when she calmed down did he reply with a soft 'sorry'.

The girl came back to the busy street to play once more, but this time her rage seemed to help her play. Her little mistakes seemed to have smoothed themselves out in fear of her wrath, and brought forth a sound that enticed listeners and loosened coin purses. Listeners firmed into a crowd and the ground was littered in money.

Empty Knights

It is said that when a distinguished and powerful warrior dies in battle, a god may revive him with the armor he wore at the moment of his death, yet his corpse is no longer there. The god may also claim his soul for himself and add him to his personal army/angels/etc. but if the warrior wasn't the god's follower in life, this may cause some consequences. This practice is rare for mainly two reasons: because it elevates the warrior to a quasi-demigod status, granting him enormous powers. This causes problems if they are left unchecked. Not to mention it pisses off Ballan Sur, which is not a very good idea.

One such case of an Empty Knight running rampant with his newfound powers was that of the greatest spearman the humans had ever seen, Omerlien. Once a famous arena fighter, he used to travel all over the world looking for someone worthy enough to defeat him, and besting everyone that challenged him. Barak Tuth, having been observing him for quite some time and looking to add him to his own, one day decided to send someone to ambush and fight him, and see if he was actually that powerful. Omerlien effortlessly beat him, boasting and asking for a stronger opponent. Barak Tuth, angry at him, decided to descend in his weakest form and face him to further test his abilities. After three long and uninterrputed hours of battle, Barak was finally defeated. Furious for having lost the fight, Barak unleashed his ungodly powers on him, killing him in the process. He then walked up to the corpse, started chanting and cursing him: "From this day forward, you will be but a shell of yourself. You shall live forever and wander these lands and fight everyone that crosses your path, looking for someone that can best you in battle and you shall not rest until you do so."
(cont.)
>>
>>43932162
Omerlien then proceeded to walk forever, wreaking havoc everywhere he went, killing tens of thousands of people, looking to end his torment. No one has seen him for decades, but some people say he still wanders from place to place looking for someone that could defeat him.

Others say he built a castle for himself and other Empty Knights so that he could train them in hopes that one day someone might best him. Some even say a god took pity on him and ended his unnatural life. Whatever the true outcome of Omerlien's quest, what matters is that this is a power that should not be used in the first place.

We don't need more primordials desu. We need to start to relate already existing gods between themselves. And we also need to start world building seriously. New gods and primordials will just make the system unnecessarily huge and clumsy, and it starts to turn into another powerlevel thread, when people constantly try to come up with another unnecessary counter to already existing gods and primordials.

>>
>>43932202
This. We already have too many gods that are barely related to each other, new gods should be the children of existing ones so we can get more connections going. Besides, we already have 3 or 4 primordial deities that are basically impossible to counter, so there is at most only 1 creator god needed to tie everything together, and frankly we don't have to do that now.

Progress is inevitable, but stasis is a force which can fight against it. Really, everything is pointless, in the end, but we can have a lot of fun on the way. Which brings me to this.

Stasis is something which the Laughing God finds unbearably dull, so once, long ago, he decided to fuck with one of Oiala's lesser interventions. Oh, he certainly couldn't STOP it, but he could torque Oiala off something fiercely. At the end of one of the interventions, one of Oiala's Inevitables was barred from returning to the belly of its master, by the will of the Laughing God, who then proceeded to twist it.

Virya, the Small; Inevitable of Progress and Avenger of the Meek.

He granted it free will, and human form, made her into a divine servant, equipped with one of the non-magical blades that hews through everything and retaining her hovering, flight-granting armor, this twisted Inevitable was let loose, form and function without purpose. She was quickly adopted by Tiranel, taught the ways of emotion and progress. Now, Virya wanders the world, looking for worthy causes to fight for. As a divine servant she is not particularly powerful, most of her power coming in the form of her panoply of things retained from Oiala's service, but she is eternal, and her things cannot be taken from her by any means, dissipating when she does, or if stolen or wrested from her grasp.

She finds no cause worthier to champion than the cause of progress, and is the defender of inventors, the voice of reason set against those who denounce forward or rational thinkers and experimenters as heretics, but many other causes worthy to champion. When not actively championing a cause, she can often be found adventuring for lost knowledge or relics, and loves nothing more than uncovering something one of Oiala's interventions missed, returning it to common knowledge where - as a surviving artifact or tome of an intervention - Oiala cannot touch it. Otherwise she follows her heart.

The twin suns of Saladia are known in the human tongues as the King's Eye and the Dragon's Eye. The King's Eye, the closer and brighter of the two, is the yellow sun formed after the death of the Phoenix Father. The Dragon's Eye, the former right eye of the Dragon God, is dimmer, colder, and placed farther apart from the world. A dark red star, its hateful light is almost always invisible due to being blocked out by the sheer radiance of its more benevolent twin.

Each celestial body is a single hand of the Great Cog, and thus convergences of the major bodies are of astrological significance. Sometimes, a moon passes in front of the King's Eye, causing an event known as a Black Sun. This always marks a temporary flux in the flow of magic, both divine and mortal. A spell or ritual cast during the proper Black Sun (as there are four moons, and each has its own effects on a Black Sun event) will have its effects greatly magnified, making these the perfect times for priests, scholars and mages to conduct rites of great importance. On the other hand, magics of types not attuned to the moon will fail, or have their effects greatly diminished.

Far rarer than a Black Sun, however, is another event: the Blood Sun.

The girl's pockets were lined with gold and copper pieces, and her smile was one of selfish gratitude. She dragged the Wretch's hands and dragged him through the narrow alleyways into her abode, well crawlspace to be more exact. From there she learned of his talents and immediately set out plans to make things go her way.

For many nights more she played bombastically, an expression of her conflicting feelings towards her guest. Every screetch made to express a value she could hardly stand of the Wretch. And the townsfolk loved it, and danced in concert.

By the second month she was happy, the girl was able to find a nicer living home and even gave the Wretch better clothes to better serve her, despite his inability to make deserts exactly as she liked.

Then people of he wrong sort got into it. Psychopaths inevitably saw the profits and did not hesitate to show violence for a cut. The Wretch even then did not fight back, and only took their blows and kicks wordlessly. In the meantime the girl would run and find a place to hide. When it was over she would come back to see the Wretch battered and bruised, but alive.

The Psychopaths had fun, and even more fun to beat someone who did not defend himself. Soon that fun turned to hate, as no matter how much they stabbed his back and stomped on his guts the Wretch would not die.

By the third month the girl's rage bled even more into her performance, and the beatings increased evermore. The Wretch even then did not feel hate, only happiness over meeting someone who could put up with him.

One night the Psychopaths did not even care about fun, only to hurt him and the Girl. They had their blades and were intent on silencing the girl and man who just, won't, stop, playing.

So they encircled the girl, and tried to lob her head off. The Wretch then felt hate.

At intervals ranging from a few decades to several centuries, the Dragon's Eye, in its far-ranging orbit, approaches close enough to the world to pass in front of the King's Eye. The light of the King's Eye is blotted out, leaving only the withering crimson light of the Dragon's Eye. This is the Blood Sun.

During a Blood Sun, the very gear of the Great Cog slow to a standstill. Though sentient beings remain capable of moving and interacting with the world, time simply ceases to move as long as the Blood Sun remains in the sky. Plants temporarily stop growing. Rivers cease to flow. Blizzards and thunderstorms suddenly halt in place. Mortals, young and old, cease to age when the Blood Sun shines. Fortunately, the Blood Sun lasts for only about a week, before it moves on. Unfortunately, the vast majority of cults, warlords, malcontents, marauders, and monster hordes interpret such an event as a sign to put whatever plans they have into motion.

Whenever an astrological forecast portends a Blood Sun, it is accompanied by a prophecy of doom. A common subject of philosophical debate among academics is the matter of whether it was the first prophecy of doom that spurred the cults, madmen, and evildoers of the time to make their move, or whether it was their choice to act during the first such significant astrological convergence that led to prophets forecasting similar chaos and destruction during Blood Suns afterwards. In any case, every recorded Blood Sun in history has coincided with upheaval, war, bloodshed, catastrophe, and death.

What would happen should a Blood Sun and one or more Black Suns occur simultaneously, remains a matter of conjecture.

Well, as far as world and kingdom building goes, I have some stuff written down already because sometimes my creativity goes wild and I have to write it down even if I don't ever use it. If someone else hasn't made everything by the time I come back, I'll do it.
Not really sure of connecting gods though, can't really work with it since I wasn't here for the first thread.
>>
>>43932483
Because I did make it. Someone suggested a primordial force of stasis at the end of the last thread, and so I started writing. And so I wrote, and so it was written, and so Oiala came to pass. Also, I started writing Oiala before now.

That's kind of the fun, and the aggravation, of a collaborative thread. You can't really control what other people contribute. You can suggest, and for my part, I find the lesser demigods and Other Divines more fun than the primordial tiers, so those are where I plan to stick with for now, but inspiration hit me and so I wrote.

Which god is the "Adversary"?
By that I mean which god tends to be the most antagonistic?

I'm personally stuck between Zalkum because all he does is wreck shit, and Nimhe, who's evolved over time into a sort of demon king character, even though he's also valued by alchemists, herbalists, and medicine men.
>>
>>43932497
Hahahahaaah! I love it!
Hell, I can see Baela and Siggy *demanding* Godly Super-Brew, and making their own.
There's a connection - the First Dwarves and Nimhe are closely aligned on the topic of substances which intoxicate deities! (Enthusiastic endorsement and propagation.)

Empty Vessel guy here, i got an idea on a connection with a god, though don't know which one yet but here goes:

When Empty Vessel finally came to Saladia, there was a nation so vast it covered an entire continent. The technology they had was on par with the rest of the world, their people average as they come and favor of only *Insert a god here* favor. But instead they had something else: numbers. So many people lived inside that empire's borders they could easily overpower any and all forces that threatened them. So many people, so many individual lives, so many....souls. Sending deamons to invade this land would be futile as the gods would recognize such an invasion force in a blink and it would take too long to be done with the nation before a response. So the Empty Vessel finally made his debut in this world. He unmade the entire nation, it's history, it's achievements and faults. Only things that remained were empty cities and the souls of the empire's people, lingering, not knowing what has transpired. In this moment, Empty Vessel send his deamons and left himself too for the hunt of these souls. Many souls very devoured and even more fled into obscurity before *the nation's patron god* even realized what has happened.

But it was too late then. Only rumors floated about the origin of the ruins, false legends of ancient civilizations being there. Everything about the empire has disappeared, only Marik knows anything of the once great nation, but even then they are mere whispers, footnotes on the annals of time. This happens right after the era of fire.

NEW LORE

After a heated debate about the spread of knowleage and information, Alina of the Mists and Marik of Forbidden Knowleadge fucked. Hard.
So much so that they made a small mountain region, which is always covered in mist, and are inhabited by a race which has never been seen by mortals. They are said to be the keeps of Lore that is beyond dangerous. The kinda stuff that would even make Marik go 'maybe I should put this in the back room'

Anyone who goes up these mountains ends up dead. Their body found at the base of the mountains with its brain missing.

The current relationship between Alina and Marik is unknown, but its assumed they care about their strange race enough to cooperate when needed.
>>
>>43932432
Maybe the dragon folk of Sparia was Nymph Aria's first race? Which demise lead her to create a less magic-capable race such as humans? That could work.

Not Marik or Ong's creator but I've had a bit of an idea and Ong looks lonely with his one connection.

All things dream, from the smallest insect to the Gods themselves. Tajyr Akana conviently falls into the net term of "All things", and of course all dreams can be found in Ong's realm.

Marik being a nerdy cleaverclogs knows this and also knows that Tajyr knows everything that has ever happened and everything that will ever happen so his perception of reality must be very different from Marik's own. Acess to Tajyr's way of understanding - the thing that caused him to ascend to godhood in the first place - will allow Marik to remeber all things that will ever happen/be discovered so he regularly tries to sneak past Ong to get a sneak peak at the dreams of a primordial. Course Ong always finds him before he can get to Tajyr's head and beats him in a game of wits to get him to fuck off, but marik learns and remebers how he lost.

so you've got this battle between Marik figuring out how to win Ong's games and Ong making new ones from the collective dreams of all life. It's become a sort of game to them and while Marik never wins he's also never deterred
>>
>>43932612
I see a few things I feel the need to call out for correction.

1: Myera is also connected to Sigrun, since Beryl and the First Dwarves talked her into supporting Sigrun's ascension.
2: Elves are *not* extinct. TLG wiped out one empire of them, he didn't exterminate their whole race Dalek style.
3: Sigrun should have both a Conflict and Connection line betwween herself and the Twins, since she frequently battles with them and used to feud with them, but also battles alongside them and interacts positively with them.
4: Yserafel should have a Connection line to Lucira, possibly a dotted one.
5: Tiranel should maybe straddle the line between God and Divine Servant. When she walks the world, she is weak, but this is by her nature; to allow her to interact with it more frequently and with more gusto. In her divine life, she is firmly of Godly rank.
6: Dwarves should be added to the mortals list, and so should Dwarves.

Also... Should we have a line style/color for "sibling" and one for "lover"?
>>
>>43932716
Mybe the portal lead to Barak Tuth's prison realm? There is probably a lot of fell nergy there, which could've lead to Sparia's demise.
>>
>>43932432

Well, you made a god with awareness of the true nature of reality, existing without end or beginning. Involving him in the mythos in any way would make him play a game that he already knows the result of.

To me it looks like Taj's relation to mortals is that of an example-god, the inspiration for anyone to reach true enlightment like him, and those who try he gives a small pat on the back, indirectly of course because actually doing anything directly in the world would only destroy those who gazed upon his glory.

The most I can think of is mid-high tier gods asking advice at some point (with the answer usually being "search enlightment") but never really getting into a real relationships.

Hate towards the town that hurt him, hate towards onlookers who ignored him as he shambled their streets, hate towards himself when he continually failed to meet his Host's demands. And most of all, hate towards the men who dared to harm her host.

The man's sword instead found its taste for its master's neck. The Wretch pulled the blade and leapt into the mass of angry Psychopaths. Arrows dug into his back but he continued on unharmed. Bones broke and screams and tears pierced the night.

When the psychopaths finally decided to run, the Wretch was able to calm down. All he could feel then was the horrified gaze of his Host.

He tried to talk but she ran. He could keep up with her, but decided to stay beind her line of sight.

He knocked on her door, and poorly trued to find the words to calm her. The girl was leaning against the wood, trying to make sense of her Host killing the relatives of the Lord.

The Wretch knew what that meant, so he asked if he could leave to avoid causing more trouble for his Host. The girl did not reply.

The morning after the Lord's police were upon him and had him bound in chains. The Wretch was to be executed for murder.

As he was carted away, he could only say words to help his Host live comfortably, to leave and find a better place than this rat hole.

As the execution came, the Wretch was ultimately calm, at peace with himself. He watched as the people hated him as a way to vent their frustrations. The Axe man walked and prepared to slice off the Wretch's head. Then he heard a melody. A dreadful, pertubed, beligerent tune. It enveloped the crowd, the Lord and his children and they all howled with rage. One punch, then two, then several then everyone. Everyone who listened was beckoned to attack anyone and everyone in their way.

The Wretch tore at his chains and ran towards the song, and around the corner, was the girl's song of rabid resentment. She made it just for him.

The way I look at it, his detachment both to the world and to the pantheon itself fills a good need for mysticism in a setting where the divine gets involved in the pettiest things all the time. He's a mortal that reached Primordial god status doing nothing but think and understand, and symbolizes the opportunity for any being to do the same if they get sick of god politics and want a direct route to the real deal.

Time for a new monster

>Wisps and Shades
Tiny offshoots of dreamstuff that Ong let's float into the mortal world.

Wisps are born from the thought, and grow in size and power as they age. most Wisps are tiny, and look like little rainbow coulds. They can shapeshift into any number of forms, often strange and fantastical ones. They are very curious beings, and often like play with those with strong senses of wildness and a need to be free.
Shades come from bits of flotsam, and are made from nightmares as opposed a Wisp's dreaming. They take the form of small shadows, either flat upon surfaces like a natural shadow or slinking in the 3-d dimension, appearing as if made from gray glass. They too can shapeshift, but the forms they take are often grisly or strange. Like their Wisp cousins, they are alsi intensely curious, but have temperments ranging from that of a fun-loving prankster to a demented murderer, and often like to frighten jumpy or easily scared mortals.

The strongest Wisps and Shades are thousands of years old, and the size of a house. They have power to rival a dragon, where as a weaker, very young Wisp or Shade could barely challenge a fairy.

She said it was a way to express how much she felt of him, the conflicting emotions between her gratitude and her annoyances and the frustrations of not knowing what to do with them.

She continued to play that dastardly tune, and soon all Psycopaths were drawn to her, tearing at eac others throats. By the time she had stopped, the only ones left were the relatively sane, the Lord and his cohorts were slain in the ensuing madness.

The town's people looked at her with awe and fear. When it came time to reorganize the hierchy of power the girl when she was older was given a position of the musical arts. The Wretch was simply glad to be of service.

As time went on the girl grew into a women and played her unique sounds. Concerts were always full to hear the catharsis her songs gave.

When she was elderly, and her children had children, she was happy to see that the Wretch was still there to the very end, her strange muse.

The Song of the Wretch is considered to be forbidden to play amongst most societies, in fear it would instill the senseless bloodlust in all who listen.

Some say if you were to play it properly, instead of hate, you'd feel a sense of happiness and release when heard.

The Wretch, if tolerated, can give certain benefits. Whether or not those benefits are worth being in his presence is up to those who decude to take him into their abode.

Carthik the Bartender
God of Bars and fine Ale

He runs a cozy bar at the center of existence where any and all gods are welcome to come and meet. It is neutral ground, and feuding Gods and forbidden from fighting here. Doing so will invoke Carthiks wrath (being thrown out of the bar for the next ten millennium)
There is also Maragold, Carthiks Daughter and Token Waitress of the God Bar
She is the Patron of the downtrodden and poor, she offers comfort to those in need of help in their job and day to day advice.

Neither of them have any formal church or priests, but Bartenders all across the land pray to them for good business and good ale.

I think the main problem with the primordials are that a lot of them don't really fit the theme of primordials that well.
Taj Yr Anka and TTJ does. But the rest are very heavily personified, which is kindda crap when they are supposed to be primordial powers more than characters.
I think we should remake the tiers, so we make only Taj and TTJ Primordials. And make stuff like The nymph, Ballan-sur, Tlg into Major Deities, whose powers are probably comparable to primordials, but who are actually characters.
In the great Hierarchy this would then push other major deities like Myrea, Tron-Sol, Nadir and Hordun up to a place below the Major gods.
That way the true primordials in the essence of the word get their own space, while the Major gods are moved away from the cluttered space at the top.

Starstones are strange, dark crystals, which are extremely rare to find on the surface. They contain immense amounts of arcane energy sealed within, and refined stones are highly prized as magical catalysts. At least one war has been fought for control over the stones, such is their value. Peering deeply into the center of a starstone reveals what appears to be a night sky full of stars, hence their name. Some scholars who study them even swear that if you do so long enough, you can hear the beckoning of the knowledge locked within, whispering to you the secrets of the universe. Such stories are, of course, fanciful embellishments.

For some reason though, it has been recorded that whenever a Blood Moon comes to pass, starstones under its light glow an ominous, angry red.

The name starstone is chillingly apropos, for they are, in fact, the exact material that the stars are made from: the blood of Vryoga Mahva Thostra. When the beast's blood was scattered into the sky to create the stars, some droplets were spilled and fell down into the bowels of the earth, the bones of the Primordial dragon. There, they petrified over time, but still retained their terrible power.

Though scarce near the surface, in the Depths, starstones are abundant and plentiful. The Reptilians, upon venturing into the Depths and becoming corrupted by the Dragon God, discovered these crystals and have used them to advance their civilization over the ages. They have fused magic and science into a strange and alien Dark Technology, which is unlike anything else the world has seen or will see.

I'm not sure being a Demigod is synonymous with "having a seat" or being able to enter the presence/realm/metaphysical plane/wherever they heck they are of the gods. I just figured Demigod was a term used to refer to any super-powerful badass who doesn't control any concepts or aspects of reality and therefore isn't on the same reality-ruling power tier as a full God. I mean, Moluck Tuth is supposed to be an evil asshole and he's still classified as a Demigod.

Elaboration on the great feast of Sohai and Hodrun, written down by the scribe Methusael Marsec, sung by a little gril from the Karvonr Tribe in the Northern lands.

Crisp were the winds
On the day of the feasts
Frozen the hinds
As cold killed the beasts

The the branches all dead
Yet brown on the ground
As Sohai there thread
And Fat laid in mound1

Sohai astounded
By the god that slept there
With hope newfounded
Woke Him with a blare

Fat jumped up high
Scared by the noise
And when he looked at the Guy2
He raised his voice

"Greetings, dear Sohai
Long time no see
I have much to tell thy
So please, follow me"

And so it all started
The feast of all feasts
Barrels of wine departed
With the meat of many beasts

1; Northern expression of saying "Hodrun sleeps [there]"
2; Sohai, referring to the difference in size between Hodrun and Sohai

I can agree with that.

So people know about this race, yes?
Would the followers of their parents attempt to climb the mountain? or be wise enough to avoid it like the plague.

I'd they make shrines at the bottom where they guard it, making sure no one climbs to to keep both the Strange Race and others safe.

Ura most probably. She also has a court of monstrous spawns I am going to talk abour no, so it could work.

So deep are the oceans, that while all the gods have thier races compete for the land the spawns of Ura roam free underwater. Sirens are her most well known daugthers, monsters with leathery fins resembling wings that allow them to fly for short traits as well. Sirens have a long piscine tail, while their body mocks the human form: their mouths are full of needle like teeth, which shred their prey into bits with terrifying ease. While sirens can actually talk, they seldom do it, but their fearful laughter is well known and feared. Each pack of siren is led by a Singer, who uses, unique among them, her voice to command her subjects. This is usually mistaken for actual singing, and has been said to be hypnotical and make men lose their reason: however, when sirens hunt intelligent being, hey prefer to dart out of the water and grab them quickly, pulling them into the water to drown slowly. Since Ura's greed is never ending, so is her daughters' hunger: they raid ships and attack travellers near water surfaces, leaving the treasures and bones for thier cruel goddess while keeping the meat for themselves. Ura prods them to costantly plunder near the coast, driven by her desire to cast her shadow over the land too. Sirens gain nothing by serving Ura, but they couldn't imagine a different life.
It is said that while sirens hunt during storms, they never strike areas covered by fog. This may be because of an ancestral fear of Alina, that drives them away from mists and banks of fog.

>>43934554
I'd say the followers guard them and do try to prevent people from going up. Those in the end of their lives can go on pilgrimage to the top, but the point is kinda that you're going to die there. It's more life offering yourself to them.

Got an idea about nimhe going at it again in the form of monster: the putrid unicorn, because I like corrupting pretty things

The putrid unicorns used to be lovely and fast red horses. They were friendly, healthy and admired by people. So once again out of shear spite nimhe used her radiant moon to corrupt and infect the horses. When her moon was right, it halted and blasted the horses' home what radiation. The horses then lost their shiny red fur, replaced with a sickly white color. Their muscles grew weak, their stomachs empty and their blood became gooey and gray. Most notable mutation was the cancerous, crooked mass of bone that grew from between their eyes. Nimhe was proud of it's work and in celebration decided to antagonize somebody else too.

Now the putrid unicorns lash out in pain against any and all who are in their path.

Does nimhe approve?

The reason the Nameless Race take brains is to use their strange magics to looks at the memories within. They learn of the world around them and catalog it in their massive libraries.

Avariel, the Soaring; Patron of Winged Mortals, first of Winged Elves.

Avariel was once a devoted, mortal Elven priestess of Beryl Elfmother. She achieved notable renown for reforming and popularizing the ritualized sexual elements of the worship of Beryl Di'Namic, turning them from obscure practices only observed on special holy days and for very wealthy donors to something all of the faithful could participate in, and frequently.

When not performing priestly duties, Avariel was an avid ornithologist and dreamer, gazing up at the skies with longing to join the birds there. Eventually, she founded a large temple high on a mountainside, incorporating a large aviary. In recognition of her long service to the goddess, Beryl appeared before Avariel in the opening dedication ceremony, and laid with her devoted priestess to inaugurate the temple, on the altar, in front of a thousand worshipers. It's said that the echoes of their cries of passion can still be heard when it is quiet in the temple.

Later that night, the goddess appeared again to her, in private, and asked the priestess if she could beg one boon, what would it be? Avariel didn't have to think long on it; she wanted to fly.

Beryl smiled, and gave Avariel wings, and skin of brilliant cerulean. She laid with her priestess, now demigoddess servant, again. The union of that consumation was the first elf to have wings and cerulean skin by birthwright, but hardly the last. Although rare, the Avariel Elves, named for their mother, are a well-liked subrace of elves, even lighter than their fellows, with exotic skin and soft, comforting wings.

additional Vayranor shit:
Though he's the patron God of sell-swords and mercenaries many pray to him for aid in some life-long endeavour, be it to master some craft or kill someone. Vayranor always tries to answer in some way, even if it's just a brief "Don't do that"

He hates Azeel and his followers cause he believes they have no will and are incapable of devoting themselves to anything significant for any reason. Also Azeel won't share his pot with him even though he has fields of the shit

Nidir and Vayranor are sorta friendly because A. Neither of them are too fond of Zalkum and B Vayranor admires the dedication of Nidir in his duties as jailer. They occasionally meet up in the divine bar, get drunk and smuggle God beer out of the place to give to mortals.

This event, if accepted into chronological order, should be proceeded straight after by a massive effort on Sur's part to kill deamon dimensions and retreive souls. Maybe even fighting the Empty Vessel to gain back a portion of the souls taken, before working together with other primordials to strengthen the barriers between dimensions to stop such a sudden attack ever happening again.

Currently we have various ways for gods to be born, I think we should have an event whereby godhood acheivement was severely curtailed by a council of the divine. Maybe have this act as the seperation point between two distinct ages in the world.

>>43936068
I need to address a long term reaction to Tani as well. Leaving any necromancer of any stripe (God or no) is a big no no for Sur.
Maybe a deal whereby she does not raise the dead permanently (e.g. limited to a week or a month), teach her craft outside of oath bound and does not aid necromancers outside of these conditions, or else Sur will pay her a final visit. Though sticking her in The Great Bone Staff and purifying her soul would be a good birth point for a purity and healing goddess.

Yeaaaah, that's not gonna happen. Trying that kind of shenanigans would be a capital-b Bad idea, since it would mean TTJ would go full ape on Ballan Sur for violating his oaths to leave Tani safe and alone, as would Beryl and the goddesses who owe her their friendship and fealty, to say nothing of the necromancer herself.

BS almost certainly can't really stand up to another Primordial, two several major gods and several moderate/lesser deities ganging up on him, especially since one of them has the confirmed power to throw a complete and total monkey wrench into the works of his purview.

Plus, you know, having your gods start lethal shit with other people's gods is shitty. I think he's just going to have to lump it and accept that necromancy's here to stay, and just get folks on the mortal planes to try and stomp it out where they find it.

>>43936305
Also, it comes to my mind that "kill her, suck her into Bony Biggerstaff" is quite possibly the promised damnation that she agreed to at the beginning of her story. It'd be a hell of a trojan, wouldn't it?

The Library of Marik
Location
What was once a prestigious institute of learning is now a shadow of its former self.
The high walls are now covered with foliage and have begun to crumble. The class rooms are lay dark.
The halls are empty, save for the mice seeking refuge from the outside world.

The only people who have stepped foot in this eerie place are the worshippers of Marik. They tend to the one room in the campus that looks as though it were frozen in time. A massive library with every book ever written.

This is only the beginning of the Library. Going deeper inside one would find tomes of lore only spoken of in legends. The darkest secrets of Kings and Queens put to ink. Books written by mad prophets and bizarre wizards. Things forgotten to time.

If one is to enter, they must write a detailed account of their entire life, and swear an oath to never reveal the Libraries location. Least the Followers of Marik hunt them down and cut out their eyes and tongue.

Not exactly. One: thats not how TTJ works as previously stated by the gods author
Two: Said Oaths were nullified when she ascended anyway, making it moot as a threat.

BS is not technically alive and draws power from the concept of death. Any death. Thoughts, ideas, breath, life, concepts, emotions, etc. Its his link to the fabric of reality which makes him a primordial.
As such, he stands on equal footing with every other primordial, none of them can force each other into anything without upturning the table and throwing the board into the fire. Which none of them want to do. Everyone under the level of primordial is a none threat to those above unless they can find a way to displace the fabric of reality connection. Considering TLG is still around, that seems to not be possible.

I agree on the last point, which is why i didnt write anything up about it, but threw out a suggestion. Frankly i thought it was a bit shit to play Ballan off against another primordial over his own domain, while also not acting in the way that TTJ would act.
Divine individuals cant really be killed. Itd essentially be sucking her soul out, stripping the necromatic powers out of her and then sticking it back in her body as a pure soul. Theoretically the first pure god ever.

I dont want to come off as whiny in anyway, and i dont want to disparage anyone on what theyve written, thats not my intent, im cool with prodding concepts and ideas, just not bending them round to touching again.
>>
Divinity and on the death of gods, a treaty on the soul.

Take a soul, average as can be. Every living thing has one, requires one, is intrinsicly bound to one. With extrodinarily rare exceptions of co soul use, or primordiality, the loss or lack of a soul means death. This is indesputable and a constant of the universe since its inception (note that this could be subject to change, afterall, every primordial who was born changed the fabric of reality. But in this instance i doubt it).

But not every soul is the same. Gods and deamons have souls as well as the common man. What is different between the two? How the spirit is imbuned.

There is three types of power in relation to the soul. Arcane, which is the most common, and the power in use by magicians or necromancers. Spirit, which is essentialy the size of the soul, which can be artificially increased by binding other spirits or souls to yourself and divine, the essence of god hood.

So, you have your various types of soul, and thus, life. We shall put aside spirit and arcane infused souls for now and focus on the divine. Divinity draws its power from a multitude of sources.

Primordial: This can be a direct connection to the pure fabric of reality, as as far as is known, is utterly irreversable. If anyone knows, they arn't telling any time soon. But it can also be from conceptual run off. Let me clarify: Take the spectrum of love. You have loathing to adoration, with neutrality inbetween and every other flavour. Now the concept of Love, would be a fabric of reality connection, since it covers everything within itself, a full scope. Whereas Say, Hatred, would be a run off connection, a small slice of the primordial fabric pie, usually established under a primordialy connected Love deity. Each step down reduces the power in ways even I am not privy to.
>>
I would love to have some more relationships going on for Ura but can not open the pastebin right now. Any ideas?
>>
>>43936735
Accumulation:
A kind of subset, or end result, of arcane, the constant accumulation of magic in sufficient density causes a paradymic shift in the soul, granting it more power. Where primordial is tapping into the raw stuff of the cosmos, this is more scrapping together as much surrounding energy and bringing it together. The end result is roughtly the same, and magical practitioner gods can be amoung some of the more deadly of the bunch.

Ascention:
The rarest type of divinity, strangely, this is usually attained via the accumulation of knowledge allowing an individuals mind to break free of its mortal body. probably the weakest in actual ability to affect the cosmos on a physical level, their mental insights can be astounding. Should you ever manage to convince them to tell you of course.

And lastly:

Patronage:
This is simply the gifting of power from already divine individuals to upraise a mortal, the definition is a little vauge, because it has a rather large range of possible ways to be acheived. patronage also covers inherited power through bloodlines, at least for this work, and as such, all demigods who acheived full godhood are partially classed as patronage divinity.

Lemme see what else I got in me
Lord Scribe, here is the final version on the Nameless Race (yes, I'm keeping that name)

The Nameless Race that dwell atop the Misty Mountains are a mysterious people, born when Marik and Alina first laid with each other.

The Race are keeps of lore in the Mortal world. They hold unto the secrets that no one should ever, EVER know. Even some of the gods. It is for the safety of all that their Libraries are never breached.

No one man climb the mountains. Those that do, are found at the base with the brain removed some their skull. It is eerie how perfectly it was done. The faces of the victims are frozen in terror.
To mortal men, it is unknown was happened to their brains.
Many kinds throughout the ages thought them selves mighty enough to take the Mountains for them selves. Entire armies have been founds dead the base of the Misty Mountains.
Said Kings who order these murder marches are said to vanish days the bodies are found.

Worshippers of Marik and Alina have set up shrines all around the Mountains base, and do their best to ward off travelers looking to climb the mountains.
When they reach a ripe old age, they climb the mountains them selves, sacrificing them selves to the children of their Gods.

Re: One: No, but do you want to imagine how badly TTJ's judgement of guilt would weigh on a Primordial, eternal, everlasting?
Re: Two: Rendered moot, in that the prohibition on her taking her rightful place or learning her nature became unenforceable; not nullified.

Re: Primordials being immune to those below them.
If that's the case, then they should also, as in most fantasy settings, be absolutely prohibited for one reason or another, from interfering with those below them, because otherwise you get shit like this, and the legitimate question of why some Primordial or another hasn't just whacked the gods they don't like and forced the rest to serve them. Especially if BS has the power to just soulrip another god and brainwash them into something he finds more desirable to have in the cosmology, by revamping their purviews or something.

Anyway, Tani isn't just some random bitch who got necromancy shoved into her. She could have been that, but wasn't. She legitimately earned her purview of necromancy through study and hard work, rendering the deathknight champion of doom thing she got at the outset redundant. Besides, it kind of makes sense that "soulstrip and soulwash her" would be BS's first idea, which could be what whomever or whatever gave her that offer (left intentionally vague,) was banking on, and they loaded her divinity with some kind of trojan virus to infect Big Bonerston.

Also, requesting for a demigod to be added somewhere off to the side connected to TLG only named "Scribe", just saying.
>>
>>43936735
>>43936848

And finally on the death of gods:

Nominally death can not be achieved through aging. One must remove the divinity of the individual through numerous ways that i refuse to list in any of my works. After that, the soul must be purged from its mortal abode and caught.

>>43936867
Rere One: Maybe, maybe not. True death should let him kill his own emotions. Shoving that onto death to deal with will just make him into a psychopath (well, more than usual) its actually rather interesting to think about.
Rere Two: Rightful place as defined by people outside of the situation as BS sees it. Ballan would not accept it. But hell, its a hypothetical really, the story was interesting and I have no grounded reason to request its rejection, just minor changes.

Re: Oh i agree. I think the cannon reason, which this debate is based upon, is because of TTJ and an agreement between primordials alongside the fact that really, the primordials just want shit to keep running and ignore most of the stuff the gods do, normally. BS would not normally do this if it was not a direct fucking with his domain deal. TTJ has his place, but so does BS, and getting dictated to by another primordial is kind of breaking the agreement.

In context, it is "The first necromancer" So future occurances should be more chill than this more stressful responce, which i imagine as BS going "But why the hell would you do that?"

Maybe, it would be an interesting point to perview, however since its the first necromancer the staff would not even exist at the time, as it is made from the bones of liches. The staff would be planned in reaction to those who tried to follow her, which gives it a reason for existing. Thanks.

The Scribe is a human granted immortality and possibly even divinity so that TLG can have someone walking besides them at all times, writing down all his thoughts and witty jokes.

I would suggest that early in the era of metal would be the millenia of darkness, caused by the severing of the underworld anchors by a lich and spawning undead in unprecedented numbers. The metal gives them a means of countering it, adds a nice part to the struggles occuring at the time, and is an easy way to give enemys for the wormrider to mow down without having to decimate other cultures or races in the setting.

Location:

The Drathmall Mountain range

Origonally a raised plateau of unimmaginable size, numerous disagreements between gods, beasts and the forces of nature have concluded in creating a mountain range of broken spires in vast numbers and density, making navigation difficult and tretchourous. The connifer forrest that clings to its edges adds a extra layer of confusion and danger to these heights, as many beasts use the cover of the foliage for ambush.

>>43937239
Yeah i get it. Hence: Its the first necromancer reaction, and directly fucks with the system he put in place to make sure the world actually keeps on living/turning.

Its like an owner coming back to find the puppy next to the big pile of poo, and then getting told he is not allowed to be the one to clean it up. Theres lots of noise, but not much is really going to happen at the end of it. But the owner is going to make damn sure that the minimum amount of future poo is found on his carpet.
>>
>>43937287
Souls claimed by gods are a kind of lend lease system. If everyone claimed all the souls then nothing would ever happen again, because there would be no flow of briths to drive events. So, claimed souls get their stay in valhalla or whereever heaven is, but in the end they must be reincarnated, so after their alotted time is done (many hundreds of years later), they get to go back to live again.
Its also a neet little fix for the fact that an eternity in the same place anywhere is boring as sin, so in the end reincarnation is probably rather attractive a deal.

The size of your average moon the Mites are the smallest and simplest of the Cognitors but also one of the most critical. They are the collectors of the raw stuff of reality. Innumerable in number they travel through space and time collecting the raw material needed to patch and fix The Great Cog. They descend upon a solar system in a unit of one hundred, dismantling it piece by piece. Mites can be fought off. The Great Cog does not have the ability to understand intelligent life, in the same way a Human would not be able to understand an atom as intelligent. Like all cognitors Mites are automated beings. They have no thoughts of their own, they just deconstruct. They do not pay attention to those fighting back and they feel no pain, but they can be destroyed. Doing so may bring the attention of much larger cognitors such as the Patchers.

>How do you think I feel?
Don't you ever get to take a break?

What if we got TLG into that tavern and got him completely, totally, reality-bendingly, primordial-mind-obliteratingly drunk? Or is that a really, really terrible idea?

>>43937304
>Yeah i get it. Hence: Its the first necromancer reaction, and directly fucks with the system he put in place to make sure the world actually keeps on living/turning.
>Its like an owner coming back to find the puppy next to the big pile of poo, and then getting told he is not allowed to be the one to clean it up. Theres lots of noise, but not much is really going to happen at the end of it. But the owner is going to make damn sure that the minimum amount of future poo is found on his carpet.

Sounds like some Just As Planned going on there.
But still, a full Primordial getting to go ape on gods and mortals because they're necromancers is something that Ought Not to Happen.

>>43937340
Then they're not really fucking with the Cycle that much, are they? Elves are ageless and immune to disease, they don't reenter the cycle until someone shivs them. To make that acceptable for the cycle, I expect that they were given a catastrophically low birth-rate.
So, if some folks spend a few weeks/decades/centuries/millenia as an undead before some adventurer finally comes along and smotes them, it's not gonna impact things very much, especially if you go straight from undeath to reincarnation, skipping the afterlife thing.
>>
I wonder what we do with this when we're done.
Do we collect everything up, get an artist to make some new pictures, and publish it as a campaign setting?
Do we just make some rules for it in another system an leave it at that?

This has potential for /tg/'s first real "mark" on the gaming community.

>What if we got TLG into that tavern and got him completely, totally, reality-bendingly, primordial-mind-obliteratingly drunk? Or is that a really, really terrible idea?
Let me consult my notes... Book 412, chapter 32 lists in intricate details how it's a horrible idea and why the gods unanimously decreed the "Irtwellin" unfit to replace elves and exterminated them.

>>43937449

>>
>>43937448
I'm up for making it a campaign setting.
We do need a clearer Hierarchy tree at some point.

412? I thought it was Book 420, for some reason.

>>43937500
Hopefully not. Godly relations shouldn't break down into a nice, orderly flow-chart, I think.
>>
>>43937404
It does have TLG in it, so i would not be surprised if its just as planned.

Yes, but if every single individual affected the cycle greatly itd break every time anyone went wrong. Most necromancers dont stop at one corpse after all.

After that it becomes a moral ideal/imperative thing: If you allow one person to do it, then can you deny the next? and the next? Eventually you end up with the system breaking. This is why BS is True Neutral. Good, Bad etc, Everyone ends up back in the system, no buts. Thats the ideal. Its not a nice ideal, its not a good ideal, but it is practical and gets the job done than anything else. By making everyone be reincarnated, no one can demand special privledge and force accumulate until stagnation. Thats why the reaction seems so heavy handed. It is, but in the context of the ideals, its kind of necessary.
>>
>>43937500
I am definatly not for a hierarchy tree. Its all more a smorgasborg of gods, which makes storys more dynamic than everyone dropping their shit and bowing every time the correct guy enters the room.
>>
>>43937517
Nah, book 420 lists the 100 years TLG spent at Hordun's place... I got a small vacation during some of that time.

>This has potential for /tg/'s first real "mark" on the gaming community.

Not really. I mean, not anymore than any of the other setting creation chains of threads we've had in the past. It's up to you if you want to stick to this setting and make it something big, but for that you need in-depth worldbuilding for the mortal world that players will be in.

>>43936867
>>43936848
This discussion is why a lot of the gods need to be moved down from Primordial tier.
These gods, are CLEARLY characters, they have emotions beyond their base ideas, they have sympathies to causes that "primordial forces" couldn't have.
I suggest that we should only keep, TTJ, Taj, Erch'anea Baj and Vryoga Mahva Thostra, as true primordials. Since they are feelings.
All the others are characters, and thus don't really qualify to be primordials.
>>
>>43937524
>It does have TLG in it, so i would not be surprised if its just as planned.

Yeah, but directly fucking with BS's domain in this overt a brinksmanship manner strikes me as not being TLG's style. He can't be the only one who can play the Just As Planned game.
>>
>>43937708
Perhaps it seems that way because it's a distraction from TLG's true motive and plan. totally not to mess with BS's bonestaff with the necromancer's soul.
>>
>>43937674
I disagree.
If your going to have gods, then have them have some kind of interaction is a good thing for at least including them instead of shuffling them off into a corner to be vaugly mentioned every now and then. Not to mention, primordials have qualification by being linked to the intrinsic fabrics and concepts of reality, not if they dont wear funny hats and speak to people.

Example: Kronos was the titan/god of Time and one of the first beings after gaia and oranos(?), i forget my mythology. Anyway, he classes as pretty much a primordial in that mythology, so why should the ones here suddenly be curtailed for possessing personalitys?

>>43937708
I dont know. The guy did try to blow up the underworld at least 3 times with a reality wipe bomb. He kind of swings back and forth.

Northern Ruins

A strange city found in the far, far North, frozen in time and devoid of all life.
No one knows who build it, or when. It simply is. All works of art that could have possibly provided some sort of clue to the former inhabitants have been destroyed. The libraries emptied.
The mysterious of this dead city boggles everyone's mind. Even the Gods. It is as though it per-dates the existence of Everything.

The city is often used by criminals look to get as far from civilized society as possible. They are often never heard from again.

The site is one of great curiously to the followers of Marik. But what ever dark secrets these ruins hold, are beyond them.
>>
>>43937801
Kronos literally means time in greek. And his emotions and actions are very simple, because he is a primordial he can't really interfere when the gods screw around with time.
The problem is Primordial force isn't a weird representation of Power Level, it simply means that they are "the first".
Thus TLG can't really be Primordial, because he is ascendant.
And Ballan-Sur makes little sense as a Primordial because death can't really exist before the gods start their infighting and throwing down Sirach, unless of course he was created by the death of Vryoga.
>>
>>43937971
His domain is True Death. So Death of all.
Born upon the first breath ever taken, to take its exhauilation. He only gained a vessel to inhabit upon the first death. That of an as of yet unknown primordial god. The details are intentionally fuzzy so people can make asumptions or fill in if they like.

I imagine it as the first real fight between gods and someone got killed by accidnet, or murdered.
>>
>>43937971
As has been noted before, TLG is the one exception to the primordial rule of being the first, and most gods still question how he managed to ascend to the rank of Primordial rather than high-tier godhood.
And as has been noted before, only TLG and Taj yr Akna know how he did it, and guess which one is easier to ask.

The thing is, TLG is a primordial rather than a god because something fundamental to the world changed when he ascended. He became connected to an aspect of reality.
Which aspect? Ask him.
>>
>>43938036
But before the vessel, he was a near enough mindless representation of death, since "death" was so simple (just breathing), so was he.
He is technically the second oldest individual, but didnt gain sentience until well after others did.
>>
>>43937674

Ballan Sur seems fine to me as primordial, being the concept of death that has posessed the body of a normal god and become more "reachable" because of it.

The odd would Aria of the Tears, because if she's a primordial it would mean the other nymphs were primordials and them losing their primordial powers because of a bet sounds ridiculous. Even if we were to accept this, the fact that losing their powers made the nymphs stop being primordials would mean that Zalkum receiving the powers of FOUR primordials would easily make him one as a result.

The Laughing God is just plain weird. He doesn't exactly represent anything and is just said to be indestructible wiwth the nature of his divinity and source of powers simply left unexplained. That said the main joke seems to be that nobody knows what the fuck is going on with him and why is he a primordial.

The Northmen are a group of tribes that agreed to unite themselves in order to survive the harsh winters, the wild and dangerous beasts that roam the northlands, humans from other kingdoms who wish to invade their lands looking for slaves, and the gods who posed much more of a threat than anything else.

The tribes are mostly composed of barbarians, berserkers, rangers and beastmasters, who according to the legends, ride griffons, snow bears, and even dragons, should they survive the encounter.

Most tribes have their own way of handling themselves. Some might overthrow the chief if he or she shows signs of weakness when leading them while others are more democratic, but they all answer to the Great Council, a council composed of the 17 tribal chiefs. They meet once every week to discuss how every tribe is doing, what to do to make sure the death toll doesn't reach the hundreds and how to get a tactical advantage over whoever tries to attack them. Then they proceed to party harder than anybody else has ever seen.

While the Northmen are a warring people and seem hostile at first sight, they have a fine eye for culture and arts, having contributed to the continent's identity with thousands of songs, poems and paintings. Also, if you come in peace, they will actually treat you very well, and will even make you one of them if you decide to stay.

Stopped here because I'm having kind of a writer's block. What do you guys think is missing?

I can help you!

Basically, TTJ does not give a shit under most circumstances. But I don't mean it does not care. I mean it is mostly passive, creating the desire for justice from its sheer emotional impact on beings. It only really gets actively involved when some serious shit is going down. And I mean, universe is going to be destroyed levels of shit. Its various scions may get involved, but they are a weird mix between sentient entities and pure emotions, something that can't really be understood. I know this is confusing, but IMO a primordial needs to be beyond what we can really understand. For all we know, we are part of a multiverse and TTJ is protecting us from some external threat.

If you're interested I've got an idea for a dead god/ piece of lore.

Ynyr god of honour, valour, oaths and martyrs. When the other gods rebelled against Sirach, Ynyr stood with him instead refusing to partake in the other gods’ act of treachery. Though implored him to just stand aside, to act like he didn’t know what was happening, he couldn’t and so the other gods unable to subdue him were forced to kill him.
Though he is dead and gone some still worship him though he can never answer their prayers.

You could if wanted connect him to Myrea. They could have been lovers/married and when she rebelled against Sirach she was the one to kill him and this is why she is the god of mourning and known as the queen of tears.
>>
Thousands of years ago, the Triplets each sought to find a lover to please themselves with, for they were envious of those gods who had those to love.

Long and far they searched the land for maiden to soothe their hearts. They traveled the land, until they found a beautiful maiden known as Gertrude. They each decided to see who could woo her first, and set off.

Siln stalked her through the city, finding out that she was already in love. In the dark of the night, he sliced her lover's head of presented it to her. "He was too weak to defend himself for you", he said. In fear and rage Gertrude fled the city and settled in another.

Sval watched her from afar in this new city, and saw that she had befriended a bear in the forest. Enraged that she chose a mear beast over her, she tore it to shreds in maddened fury. "I am far superior to that mangy rat, why not love me instead?' She asked. Frightened and miserable, once again she fled.

Trex slinked behind her in this new city. He saw her surrounded by friends of great value, laughing and talking. In the night, he swept his vile breath all over the city, killing everyone but Gertrude. "Now you have no one else but me", he said.

Full of pain, misery, and fear, Gertrude broke down, and refused them all. In her weeping, Siln became furious, charging at her and slicing her head off in one swipe of his razor.

Nimhe, who viewd the spectacle from his poisoned realm, took pity on the girl. Using his corruptive magic, he brough both her body and head back to life as a horrible zombie-like creature. They say she still wanders the ruins of the city Trex slaughtered, and that she can only return to true life if she falls in love with someone, and if they fall in love with her.

Kardash is known as the city of a thousand scripts. It's the religious and intellectual capital of numerous Gods and lies dead in the center of the Saladian continent, wedged between the salt flats and the rolling sand dunes of the Southern Desert. It's spires are tipped with gold, and merchants from far away lands gather in it's maze of a bazaar to sell wares and give blessings to those who seek them out.

During midday, when the sun is at its zenith, it becomes too hot to conduct business outdoors, so an underground tunnel network exists that runs beneath the city, to provide both shelter and living space for the cities populace, many of whom are slaves or indentured servants to the many priesthoods based there.

Kardash is a free city, and so by law has no official head of state. However, the De Facto head of city affairs lies in the Church of Ballan Sur, who rule from their seat in the independent Cathedral city of Murkarath, an independent monastery turned palace that's located on top of the cities supply of fresh water. The Church seems to have no qualms about wasting this precious resource, and the great fountains of Murkarath shoot high into air, watering the lush palace gardens.

>This journal is written hastily in watery ink, as though one didn't even have the time to praise Xizamere and mix in the oils. Never-the-less, this piece survived, a single page torn from its bindings:

My brother has gone mad! He speaks foul blasphemies on Lady Myrea in front of the constable. Has he lost his senses? I shall take him to the Temple at once to see if I can cure him of his illness.

I can't describe what I just saw without seeming like a mad man, I'm sure of it. Still, I will attempt to do my best. My brother was recovering in the temple, I had watched with concern as he received the 20 lashes of penance administered by the inquisitor. I was thankful that his impure thoughts were being cleansed, but I sensed that something was not right. His blood had begun to pool together and change color, to an almost golden color. As this happened, my brother started to snort and scowl, with a sudden violence he shook and gave an angry yell. The inquisitor, believing him to be possessed by Demonic influence, then started to bring down the whip harder and harder, drawing more and more golden blood with each stroke. My brother then, with terrifying strength he had never shown before, broke the chains and ran around the temple screaming like a berserk lunatic, the inquisitor chasing after him shouting curses before he brought him low with a lash to the head. I wept for my brother that night, but the horror had just begun.

Soon after wards, during the late night, the constable knocked on my door and asked that they be let in. I opened it to see two shaken men scrambling inside as they begin barring the doors shut. I asked them what seems to be the problem, and they frantically attempt to tell of how the priests of the temple have gone mad and are running around the city setting fire to buildings, causing havoc and destruction. Their numbers only seem to be growing, and the crazed mob could be upon us any mo (the remained of the page is charred black).

Dropping this so I can continue later, and I'm off to bed, have a good night folks.

Kahoan, the great archipelago

A massive archipelago that stretches as far north as the icy deserts and as far south as the volcano formations, Kahoan was left largely unexplored for various years until now, in the Era of Metal, some nations dared to sail in its direction, with the intent to chart, explore, colonize and take whatever resources there were.

Upon arrival, though, they found the islands were populated by a large number of odd creatures, such as seafolk, elementals (mostly earth and water), some beastmen and elves, which most thought to be extinct until now.

(cont. later, please do not mess with it right now)

Tempest, the infamous capital city of the Storm Eye cult. It's a city that cannot be easily entered overland, the pathes through the dense forests and hinterlands being closely guarded and littered with watchtowers, eager to alert one another of an approaching threat.

Thus, the way one usually enters the city is by sea, sailing through the twin monolyths that designate the cities harbor. An iron chain is raised to prevent any unwanted guests from entering the port.

Upon docking, one is often taken aback by not only how huge the temples are, but also how numerous, all of them dedicated to Mah Yis Rah and her aspect as the Lawgiver, a sight like this trumps even the grand cathedrals of Kardesh. The temples are shaped to be pyramids, the largest among them are believed to be constucted by a race of Elves that are since then long gone.

Alongside these temples, there are the great dirt mounds, known as Wolves Dens, where the Canids and other servitor races live, helping to build new temples and taking part in the highly ritualized traditions that are among the Storm Eye everyday life.

The city is directly controlled by the War Council, headed first and foremost by a man known as the Speaker, the most respected position in the Cult and is responsible for the interpretation of doctrine. They make laws and levy taxes and armies for campaigns, in which one council member is always there to lead an army.

The Storm Eye rule via a Caste system, with humans at the top and non-humans at the bottom. The non-humans do all the work, including maintaining the ships of the Storm Eyes impressive navy, and fishing for crab to feed the populace. The humans are usually the ones who serve in the army, which is seen as an honor which only a coward would reject. Either way, everyone is expected to pull their weight in their eternal service to their divine Lady.

Relationship Graph anon here. I am going to make one big picture with the separation of Primordials and High Gods.

Who should be downgraded and who upgraded?

Something like:
>Primordials:
Taj Yr Akna, TLG, Ballan Sur, Erch'anea-Bai, TTJ

>High Gods:
Queen Myrea, Zalkum, Gomul Hausa (first fertility god), Kann Dahva Umriel the Phoenix Father, Vryoga Mahva Thorsta the Dragon Father, Tiskapal, Empty Vessel, Aria of Tears, Sohai? Tron-Sol ?

Since i've only written bad things in my time (Radioactive moon, walking sand-vampire-dust-disaster-demigod-thing, the corrupted unicorns and Empty Vessel) i think i will call myself Authority of Adversity. In fact i think i will give myself some lore:

Teekeus, Authority of Adversity

An acolyte in the cult of Marik, Teekeus has spent his life collecting knowledge that should not be known. He has studied celestial bodies, the natural fauna and unnatural disasters and as such has gained quite the expertise on things that threaten Saladia. Marik whispered to him words of madness, lore of old and tales of gods and their folly. Becoming insane, Teekeus cut his ties from the cult and started travelling alone as he thought he was the chose of the god of forbidden knowledge and now resides on top of a hill in a house made from grimoires, encyclopedias and other assorted books, gibbering madly. When confronted with any question regarding anything or even engaged in small talk, Teekeus spills the secrets of horrible monster, deathly disasters and terribly knowledge. This has earned him the moniker of Authority of Adversity, the man who knows what will eventually kill you or corrupt you.

Consider him demigod/hero tier as he is just a really, really smart man.

Vryoga Mahva Thostra seems like a primordial to me, considering his body IS the physical world. I think the odd bit about him is being "dead", so maybe it could be retouched into him being a fomer entity that became mindless and inactive, with his essence spreading itself and becoming the material realm.

Plus if his breath is what gave way to the beginning of life, then he's a necessary existance for the beginning of death (Ballan Sur)

Also, looking at the godly domains pastebin, it seems there's no deity that represents life itself, so it kinda helps the idea that Vryoga Mahva Thostra is the life to Ballan Sur's death.

Actually it's kind of a good mirror that the god of life "dies" while the god of death "is born"

A possible sequence of events could be:

>Vryoga Mahva Thostra exists
>Vryoga Mahva Thostra is put down and "killed" by a non-living entity at some point (maybe the cognitors after Vryoga Mahva Thostra started gnawing at the fabric of reality itself?)
>From Vryoga Mahva Thostra's body the physical world is created and from it life itself
>Unnamed god X is born and dies from this physical world
>The death of this god is triggers the beginning of Ballan Sur's sentience and the possession of the god's body.

He is son of Primordial of happiness and pleasure And The Laughing God. As both of them are Primordials Sohai (and his brothers Hardun and Adin the Craftsman but they feel more just Gods) he has pretty divine power set.

Also his folks are pretty central, if bit passive. It kinda fits them, not taking life that serious. But they fill important role in the Pantheon.

>>43943185
>>43943273
As Primordials are extremely important cosmological entries it is understandable why Vryoga Mahva Thostra. Yet given his demise at the hands of Kann Dahva Umriel the Phoenix Father is then bit weird.

It seem to me that its better if the Dragon Father and the Phoenix father are High Gods, but now dead.
Given that Dragon Father's death created the World and the Phoenix Fathers death the first Sun, it is poetical.
>>
>>43943309

Well shit, guess Kann Dahva Umriel kinda fucks with the idea I had.

So then what? Until Vryoga Mahva Thostra dies there's no world, and until the first god dies Ballan Sur can't come posses the corpse.

It can't be that Vryoga Mahva Thostra is the possessed dead god because the coropse becomes the world, it also can't be Kann Dahva Umriel becaus it's a phoenix body.

It could be easi if we could ask the line without beginning who saw what happened, but you know, the instant annihilation thing...

My own thoughts on the first necromancer.

After the true ascension of Tani, Ballan Sur returned to his home, and became quiet. The soul of Tani, now a god in her own right, was no longer his immediate concern. Even were she to be reaped, the damage she had started would remain. The Cycle would continue, but factors would have to be changed, additions made. There was much more work now for Ballan to do. For a great length of time he was reclusive, more-so than before, not leaving his domain but to perform his essential duties. When he finally emerged, he carried with him a bone of undistinguished size and shape, changing slightly with every glance. Following him was The Laughing God, a wry and gleeful smile upon his face.
>>
>>43943453
Tani stood prepared when Ballan approached her. This was the first true meeting between the two, but she knew well who he was and all that he had done. She was grateful to him for the knowledge he delivered to her, but well aware of his promise of her destruction. As the two immortals faced each other The Laughing God observed. Locking his gaze on Tani Ballan Sur raised the strange bone into the air and at that moment, two dozen souls, long past their times, let loose their final breaths. The bones of the aged and most skilled necromancers, first trained of Tani, merged themselves with Ballan’s staff. With his new tool, Ballan Sur returned, offering a departing word to the young goddess. “Eventually, all things will come to an end, when it is their time. I am willing to wait.”

The Laughing God slowly took a single bite of salad, and then, as always, he laughed.

It was a time of great chaos and unknowns, for the Cosmos was Young and Shrouded.
Current scholars have only vague ideas what transpired there.
It is said that Kann Dahva Umriel the Phoenix Father slew Vryoga Mahva Thostra the Dragon Father, and from the latters corpse the World was made. How Death and Ballan Sur relates to this is not known. Tiskapal is thought to have some hand in these matters, but it is hard to prove.
From all that great chaos and confusion Zalkum was born with Sirach and Gomul Hausa following soon afterwards.
The battle between the Dragon and the Phoenix set stage for the later Sun War.

Scholar Murils of Bandar traveled decades ago to Monks of Taj Yr Akna and asked about The Beginning of the World. The Monks gave a once-in-a-century answer: "Even thinking about it gives us headaches beyond Reason. Do not ask this ever again."

Creator of the Dragon God here, with my own thoughts on it.

It seems that the consensus is that Vryoga Mahva Thostra's corpse is more than just the physical world, which is just his bones. The rest of his body is what makes up everything else around it.

Let me attempt to finagle a solution out of all this and what has already been established:

Before the beginning, the Great Cog held the two physical universes and two metaphysical planes in balance. None of the current pantheon existed then, save for some of the primordials. The status quo was disturbed by the sudden appearance of a new cosmic being, the Primordial Dragon. (Incidentally, my original concept was that the Dragon God wasn't necessarily a dragon, but a cosmic abomination of indeterminate nature, which is why I referred to it as the "beast" in the lore. The whole Dragon thing was originally just due to the Reptilians trying to interpret its true nature in a way they could understand, and automatically interpreting it as a being like the creatures they themselves most revered.)

The Primordial Dragon was a being that fed upon the very fabric of reality itself, devouring entire galaxies to feed its hunger. This could not be ignored by the other Primordial entities or the Great Cog, which joined forces to destroy the Dragon. Even entities of lesser power joined in the battle against the beast. After the Dragon God was slain, its corpse was used to create the third physical universe, leading to the current state of the Great Cog. Because the Dragon God was killed before the concept of death came into being in the current universe, it does not quite follow its rules. Even while dead, the Dragon God still dreams. Those alien dreams are the whispers of cosmic madness which permeate the Depths and echo inside the starstones.
>>
>>43943670
The Primordials can be classified as those beings that existed before the third universe came into being, or have transcended the limitations of time and causality in such a way that they exist independent from it. Also, the current Primordials are simply the only Primordial beings that chose to continue interacting with the third universe after its creation. There could easily be countless other Primordials elsewhere in the Great Cog who are simply more concerned with their own inscutable business.

The Phoenix Father would be the Primordial being that contributed the most to defeating Vryoga Mahva Thostra, and sacrificed a great deal of its own power to deal the deathblow, losing its ability to reincarnate without end.

After this, the High Gods of Saladia came into being one way or another, and created the mortal races using the lightning of Vryoga Mahva Thostra's breath. True life cannot exist without death, as being alive is only defined if there is a possibility of being not-alive. Without this duality, the distinction has no meaning. Thus, technically, beings that existed before Ballan Sur came into existence were not alive in the first place and did not die, and the paradox of Vryoga Mahva Thostra's demise is a purely semantic one.

On reflection, this seems to have unintentionally turned out really similar to the lore of Dark Souls. What with there being only one uniform state of existence in the beginning, until some guys decided to kill one or more godlike dragons, which coincided with the appearance of a new light/dark, life/death duality that never existed before.
>>
>>43943771
There's also the possibility that at least part of this is just the Reptilians making shit up in their insane, fanatical, mutated state, what with being converted over countless generations into thralls of a dead eldritch abomination that also happens to be the planet they live on, or rather, in, all while being subject to constant mutation that turned them from a single species into a thousand. It's no wonder it would conflict with the "official" account of events, if that was the case.

Then again, if the previous account is to be believed, the High Gods of Saladia weren't around to see what happened either. Only the Primordials were, and no one's getting any answers from that direction anytime soon, given how far beyond mortal comprehension they are. And at least one God might have a reason to keep the truth hidden.
>>
>>43943670
>>43943771

I rike it.

>This could not be ignored by the other Primordial entities or the Great Cog, which joined forces to destroy the Dragon

Does The True Judge participate here? How does his justice hold in this case? I imagine the TAJ YR AKNA just sat there as usual and watched the shitstorm happen because he already read the book and watched the movie adaptation

Only problem I see here is that it makes the Phoenix Father a primordial while taking that status from him. If that's the case it takes away the argument of the the nymphs not being primordials, and as a result it makes Zalkum a primordial.

So in short if the Phoenix father is a primordial then the Aria of the stars goes back to primordial level, the nymphs become former primordials and Zalkum becomes an uber primordial.
>>
>>43943936
Well, how about putting in that the primordials, for all their power, are still limited in ways connected to their origin and domain. That would explain their reluctance to do things most of the time, because they'd only be able to affect and do things connected to their particular purviews.
This would also explain, if Zalkum was a primordial and come on, why isn't he? The being representing pure order and law is one, so why isn't chaos? Is chaos a more recent thing barging in on a neatly ordered and lawful world?, his nymph hunts, ripping out the divinities and purviews of other beings to increase the amount of options he had for himself.
>>
>>43944113
I think we need a hard and fast rule about whether divinities can ever be destroyed or not. People seem to keep coming into the thread with their first things being "Oh yeah, there was this super awesome god of championship and law, and then the other gods tore him apart because he sided with the asshole they didn't like."

I think nothing of Demigod stature or above should be perma-killable unless their creator puts it into them that they can be killed off for real, like Oiala can be.
And even then, people should think long and hard about making their new creations permakillable.
>>
good morning everyone. Hope you all slept well.
Glad to see the thread is still going.
What shall our next step be in the world of Saladia?
>>
>>43944113
>>43944168

Demigods should be able to die, after all that's the point of ascending.

True gods I believe should also have a way to be terminated if only by other gods, considering some of them are heavily based on divine death. Hell, Ballan Sur's entire existence depends on a god's death, so that really can't be contested.

The thing up to debate is if primordials can be demoted. If we accept that, then Aria of the Stars can comfortably return to primordial status, followed by Zalkum who gained the power of several primordials. It also tones down the primordial status a bit since they are not necessarily permanent anymore, with Taj being the only one truly beyond primordial.
>>
>>43944256
If we go with this approach, we should include that MOST primordials were so from a time before Ballan Sur's existence, before life and death were a true thing, and that most gods have no idea how to achieve or take away primordial status, and the primordials themselves are not going to help them with that.
>>
>>43944256
But what about TLG? He seems like a guy who just does whatever he wants to, without the fear of death or opposition. He looks like a guy near or at the same power level as Tajy.
>>
Hey all. Im awake again.

I love the mythos with the dragon, my i add a point?

Upon his defeat, the primordials shattered his soul, and it is from this event that all souls in nominal existance trace their origins to. It is also the reason why the dead primordial can not gather themselves back up and live again.

To truely awaken, would require every living soul that used to be apart of the dragon being collected in one place and fused together via ancient ritual. Which is another reason for Sur to keep the balance.

The only exception being rare souls from the parasite dimensions that get retreived. If were talking about the setting being a multiverse.
>>
>>43944326
well, if we go with the "primordials can only do things within their purview" we've still got the question "What are TLG's purview?"
We know he really likes humor, but not much else, and he doesn't say anything, nor are gods like Marik able to dig up much dirt about him.
Perhaps he does whatever he wants because his purviews are especially broad, or he only does things when they fall into his category while making sure no one picks up on them.

No captcha, a bowl of fruit salad is not a flower.
>>
>>43944356
>Bowl of fruit salad

Thats not captcha mate.

I think TLG's purpose is chaos and progression, every time he mucks with people, he forces something to happen, something new. Which would explain why he keeps prodding Sur, considering his perchance to settle into a routine.

The guy is essentially the pantheons trickster god.
>>
>>43944371
Perhaps his purviews include "Humor", which would make him able to do anything as long as it's funny in some way.
And considering his humor..... he could be the most powerful of the primordials, as long as he's not being serious about anything or included in anything with grave importance.

In essence, TLG might be the most powerful of all gods, but only as long as he does 'trivial' things and doesn't actively oppose anyone in any way other than pranks or jokes.
>>
>>43944406
He might be powerful in his attempts of humor, and utterly average when serious for all we know.
The guy has never been serious, so its pointless speculation.
>>
>>43944297

Well, if we go by the nymph myth, then primordials don't really "die" after being demoted, but rather cease to exist as characters/rational entities and become more like the primal aspect they're tied to.

That wasy the four nymphs get demoted and Zalkum ascends to primordial, while Vryoga Mahva Thostra's rank didn't go to anyone and just faded away.

>>43944326

He's truly a wildcard, and a mess to make sense of. He either needs a demotion or clear limits. The joke was that he was indestructible even to the gods, so that's why he was considered primordial, but now even that status is no longer what it was (if we go with these changes)

His backstory begins with him as a human that made a sacrifice for his loved ones, which made him eternal and also somehow all powerful, so it's necessary that SOMETHING made him like that, and the TAJ YR AKNA's non-intervention ways mark him out, same for the great cog itself because no reason to do something like that. He's tied to time and doesn't have infinite knowledge or understanding, really the only actually big think he "may" know is his own origin. His powers also seem to be disproportionally big for someone who "paid" with his mortality for salvation of others (salvation from what?)

It seems like the mind of a mortal in the "body" of a being apparently above primordial's power but below the infinity of the TAJ YR AKNA.

Perhaps the rules of the cosmos weren't perfect at the time of TLG's ascension, and he somehow fell into a 'cosmis loophole'. Maybe his power is Vryoga's, perhaps he somehow found a direct conduit to whatever powers the Great Cog, maybe he siphoned off powers from all the primordials, who knows?
>>
>>43944474

>Maybe his power is Vryoga's

Not a bad idea actually, considering Vryoga's domain is "The world" it would make The Laughing God's sphere of influence include the entire world, hence the broadness of his powers, while also explaining his indestructibility as being tied with the fate of the world itself.

I understand the "rumored connection" between Taj and the Fixer, but it doesn't seem likely that there's a servant or even acquaintance relation there, I don't think the connection would even be made in the first place if it wasn't suggested by the Fixer post.

The search for understanding the nature of time and it's manipulation are including in the search for understanding the entirety of reality, which means Taj himself did it and it has been stated that he supports those who walk the same path. If nothing else it seems the Fixer is going against the path of Taj and would earn a conflict line, but then again >implying Taj takes part in conflicts.

The Fixer's work seems really focused on protecting time and stopping anyone that gets near, while Taj's only relation with time is being... unrelated to it, being above it.

It would make sense that the Fixer was the enforcer of an unknown time primordial/high god outside of the third universe, if not the god of time himself and only concerned with its stability.

The most I can relate the Fixer with Taj is on something similar to Marik searching for Taj's dreams, as "that thing that holds the answers but is kinda beyond my grasp." The idea of keeping time stable and unchanging seems more in line with Tispakal's domain of fate, who also happens to be right above him in the chart.

1: Sigrun and Baella/Siggy never fought. They almost certainly fucked, but never fought.
2: Beryl and Baella/Siggy fucked.
3: There should be both a conflict and sex connection between Sigrun and the Twins.
4: There should be a Connection/Rumored Connection between Tiranel and Et-Tar Sis the Everready.
5: There should be a sex connection between Tiranel and Aimee.
6: Why are Dwarves, Humans, Elves, etc, listed in the Demigod tier? Shouldn't they be in mortal?
7: Beryl is not the mother of "all other beasts," just of non-human humanoid races.
8: Where are Oiala, Inevitables, and Virya? Oiala should have kind of a rumored conflict with TLG, since he likes stasis and stasis is dull, and open conflict with Tiranel since he opposed progress directly; Virya should have a connection to Tiranel, and a conflict connection to Oiala.

The cry has come out early in the morning, every morning, for as long as the city of Rakada had existed. At dawn, a small crowd gathers at the base of the High Minaret, as the King climbs the stairway up the tower, connected to his palace, and shouts:

"The Sun doth rise! To Tron-Sol, we give thanks!"

Followed by a response from the crowd gathered below:

"Hail Machandus! Viluvians to arms!"

At this point, the crowd disperses to go about their daily business, but the fact that such a minor ceremony continues to survive represents the Viluvians perfectly. They are a people steeped in tradition, the inheritors of a proud legacy marked by great kings and conquerors, none more revered than their own Machandus, whom the very city of Rakada takes its name and forwhom the city was first built following his death. It's the biggest city in Viluvia and the unofficial capital following Machandus' death. Unfortunately, Viluvia has long since been fractured, and has not been united under one banner since.

The palace itself was once Machandus' palace, the hills behind it contain his cave tomb and the tombs of kings since him. Viluvians love to learn about history, theirs in particular, and Rakadans in particular believe that they live in the most cultured, civilized metropolis in the world. Rakada is built by a lake, flanked by mountains on all sides. Goats are plentiful in this region, and nary a single dish in Viluian culture is devoid of goat products. The goat is considered a representation of Viluvia and its people, even the national flag is represented by a green and red background with a goats head among the mountains.

The city consists of numerous aqueducts, temples, great halls and on the outskirts pitched tents which Viluvians had traditionally (and still do) lived in. The king, Dateon III's family has ruled the city for 10 generations, though outside of it the land is divided between many petty, squabbling feudal lords. The city itself is well defended from outsiders, the Viluvians becoming both the inventors and masters of the crossbow; and not ones to forget their past, many Viluvians are still proficient with the traditional sling and short bow, ranged combat being the main form of combat when traveling along the steep mountain passes. Rakada has never been conquered by non-Viluvians. It's with great pride that the Viluvians will say that the only thing that can conquer Viluvia is their fellow Viluvians, as a sort of acknowledgement by Tispakal of their natural superiority.

We do not need additional Primordials.

New Stories are needed more, and the lands of Mortals (and Gods). We have many gods who have not done that much..

The brave but mad Mordun, what he has slain? Is he still alive even, did the crazy berserker challenge something too big for him to handle?
What crafts has Adin fashioned?
Dogmeat & Kalgore Sasavid, the new and quasi-god mortals could use something more
What cruelties has the Smiggeling done in secret?
Even Queen Myrea is quite quiet!
How do Yserafel, Lucira and Ilara connect to the other Gods?
What beasts has Et-Tarsis bested?
Tyroniqus hasnt done that much, being god of Thieves.. What he has stolen?
What does Pah Enki Ratos wrestle with?
Mizimil Ikisith, where she is stealthing and causing mischief?
There is quite small amount of married gods, perhaps more?
What does Ynera do these days? Does she live amongst the Gods or mortals?

Gomul Hausa.. It would make sense for it to be dead/gone, given that we have other, younger mother/fertility gods as well.

Labaled important conflicts to clear it.

Made connection between Maiden Anera and the Elfmother, since Anera was said to be an Elven Goddess somewhere.

Et-Tarsis also feels like someone who will take part in the Rebellion versus Sirach

Tink, tink, cups on coasters sounded through the rather cavernous room. A hollow voice rang out.
"PLEASE PASS THE MILK, THANK YOU."
The fire burned merrily in the hearth as the two imposing beings sat in silence. One a mutated hulk sat on a chair or iron, who had just passed the milk to the individual drinking tea in a high back leather chair next to him.

Some time passed as the hulk occasionally figited in his seat. The figure in the leather chair always had something... off about him. Most individuals were their bodys, but he? He was like a body of bones wrapped in a dark prevailing mist, as if shadows could compress into a near liquid. Though Nadir knew such individuals could appear as they pleased.
"So, what brings the lord of the underworld to my humble abode? Are you here to check your anchors again?"

Clink. "YES. EVENTUALLY. HOWEVER I DID WISH TO SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT ONE OF YOUR MORE ESOTORIC PRISONERS."
"Ah. The sorcerer?"
"YES"
Nadir sat back in his chair and cupped his hands pressed together.
"Why?"
"THEY HAVE BEEN POKING INTO AFFAIRS BEST NOT. WHILE ALL KNOW MY STANCE ON NECROMANCY, IT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO ACCESS THE UNDERWORLD, AND THIS INDIVIDUAL SEEMS TO BE IN POSESSION OF THE KNOWLEDGE TO FORM GATES INTO MY REALM. WE BOTH KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT COULD BE"

Nadir sighed. He had been instructed to bind this person for their crimes in another area. Gods do not take kindly to being ripped off after all. "You know I can't just simply hand them over."
The figure nodded, and with a final clink set his empy cup down. Time passed.
"I FEEL YOU WOULD ENJOY A WIDER VARIETY OF TEA IN YOUR EXISTANCE, I ALWAYS FEEL IT IS GOOD FOR THE STATE OF THE SOUL."
Nadir grumbled. "What about the prisoner old man"
A tilt of the head, gleam in the eye of blue fire colder than anything in the mortal realm.
"DO NOT WORRY JAILOR. I WOULD KEEP THEM IN THE UNDERWORLD FOR A TIME, AT LEAST LONG ENOUGH FOR THEIR SENTANCE, YOU DUTIES WILL BE FULFILLED."
>>
>>43946167
Nadir rubbed his face in irritation
"And what do i say to the god who requested his imprisonment? You know how they can get about this sort of thing"

Ballan Sur leaned back in his chair, no sound issuing from the supple leather.

"TELL THEM, THAT THEY MAY COME TO ME FOR COMPENSATION. AS FOR YOURSELF, I BRING THE TONIC AS ALWAYS"

Nadir nodded glumly and accepted the offered silvery vial. Gods alone knew what was contained within, but it helped stabalize his form and ease his pain for a while, so he was glad enough to have it.

"I will put on another kettle them"

"PLEASE DO"

--
I hope people like it, and that the maker of Nadir does not mind.

The Sour Desert, formerly known as Gomuk's Grove.

A lush jungle island off the coast of Saladia, Gomuk's Grove was a wild land of dog-eat-dog mentality. Only small tribes of primitive men lived there for no sane civilization from the main land would set a foot there unless they wanted to test their mettle or worship their patron god. Being a rain forest, it had rivers running through, small lakes dotting it's landscape and animals. So many, wet, juicy, blood and water, ripe to be harvested. A veritable feast for the famished...for the thirsty.

Yal-Hagur cast himself into the ocean and walked in the bottom all the way to Gomuk's Grove. He and his Dry (more on those later, paste bin my ignore this one in parenthesis) invaded the grove and turned into a dead land in the matter of hours. The wild creatures of the Grove were replaced with dry husks lusting for blood, vegetation crumbled to dust the lakes for replaced with dunes as far as the eye could see. Yal-Hagur, for once, was sated for a moment. A small smile crept on his husky form.

Gomuk's Grove was discovered in it's current state by explorers from the main land. The wind stung their eyes and the air smelled of milk gone bad, so it was given the new name of Sour Desert. Here Yal-Hagur now resides for the time being, being satisfied for a moment before moving to another location.

What happens to gods when they die, the same as everyone else or something different?
>>
>>43946449
Depends on the god and their source of divinity, and when they died.
See: Before and after Ballan Sur's sentience.

So gods uner primordial should end up being sucked back into the cycle. Theoretically some dead god souls should be kicking around in mortal shells, but without their divine power or immortality. What happens to their power is also situation dependant, but should basically go back to where it came from or dissapate unless someone uses magic/divine techniques to absorb it.

To kill a god in the first place requires special circumstances anyway, so its very rare.
>>
>>43944704
It might be that he doesn't trust generic mortals with time travel. There's a base level of enlightenment one has to reach before he's willing to let you even start fucking around with that sort of thing.

Sure, it's all well and good pondering the mysteries of the universe, but when you start trying to tunnel your way through the time stream without any possible understanding of the ramifications he has to step in and do something before some dumbass wizard explodes history.

And soon every thief worth his name knew that stealing a mysterious artifact from one of the most guarded place in town was this night's goal. At midnight, me and Melkith the Rat, oh he is dead now, must have been 10 years ago that he left for the underworld?, sneaked behind the guards and into the temple, where we found Half-Hand Kartus and at least half a dozen other thieves trying to keep each other from going further in! But old Melkith was no beginner and got the upper hand pretty quickly, putting "Second Story" Nenia to sleep with a well placed strike and dropping his unconscious body in front of the guards! It goes without saying, everyone starts to panic, guards everywhere! And me and old Melkith use the confusion to reach the inner chamber. There it was... it was 7 feet long, every inch of it decorated with exquisite incisions, gems of every color of the sea; now I know for certain, but that night both of us couldn't imagine that was the Trident of Ura. Well, I did the only sensible thing and when Melkith dropped his guard for a second, I tripped him and rushed to grab the trident, before darting away like a flying snake of Kardash. "
The old thief smiled, puffing out smoke as he put his pipe down.

"I was mentally patting myself on the back, I must say it, and we know you should never do it before the work is done. But that would have bee the theft of the century! I ran out of there with both my guild and the guards of the temple at my back for the streets; and decided that it would have been brilliant to climb up and house and use my knowledge of the rooftops- awlays know your rooftops, newbies- to get the upper hand there. So there I was, on top of some poor sod's house, when I see this shadow darting at my side. It should have been 10 feet long, I thought it was a panther or something, before it came out of nowhere in front of me! All fins and tail, with teeth the size of this dagger, and those eyes! Shining like braziers in a dungeon-never get locked up in a dungeon, newbies!-, and the monster was hissing like a teapot! I dropped down the roof, onto a merchant's stand, onward to a cart and then climbed up to another roof, when the second monster appears; then I see one of our boys one the nearby roof and fling the trident at him, he catches it and a third fin-woman goes after him, so he drops it and a thief on the street grabs it and runs- after 5 minutes it was a three teams game of Axe Fling- you know that game they do in the north, right newbies?- with us, Et Tarsis' guards getting all uppity now that there are true monsters to slay, and Ura's thrice-damned spawns! When I finally got to the guildhouse, holding that damn trident, I was giggling thinking of how good I had done, and suddenly this tall, shady fellow mugs me and takes the trident away!"
All the young thieves went from entertained to amazed, and then to shocked as their old mentor mentioned a complete stranger easily getting the drop on him, but the master thief just sighed, smiling.

"Only thing I remember of him, was that he was strangely chromatic, you may say. Come on, it is not such a difficult word! A weird looking fellow, with blue or purple skin... Let me tell you, Zaka Tyroniquis had the most fun of the last century in his immortal life, that night!".
All the thieves around him shifted and made puzzled faces- to think their god would have come to stole the prize of one of his devotees? It seemed too much of a stretch, even after such an incredible tale. The old master thief just sat there, laughing as memories of the old times ran through his mind, old companions and old heists, good and bad... he stood up, gaining the attention of the youngsters again.
"And while we are at it... has anyone of you heard about the Blade of Myrea? Because I have heard interesting rumors lately..."

The thing is, when you KNOW what's going to happen, you end up with a few options regarding attempts at time travel.

1) Do not interfere, you know how it plays out anyway

2) Interfere

Now when an all knowing 4th dimentional entity decides to interfere in this kind of scenario, another choice appears in front of you.

2.a) Prevent it from ever happening, in which case you already know you will be preventing this event since the beginning of time and therefore it never happens in the first place and then what were we talking about again?

2.b) Send a brutal enforcer to burn the life work of the people in the best case or outright murder them in the worst, all of this when you could have totally gone with 2.a and prevent the useless bloodshed, making you look like a MASSIVE prick.

It just doesn't add up, not with Taj at least.

So well, just a silly story about the god of thieves, since I heard we needed some. Nothing special, but I hope it was entertaining.

Another Myth.
Part 1/3

-Excerpt from the book "Anthology of Popular Tales"

Many of these tales and stories are commonly passed on through generations, so if ever were they based on true events, it's likely that they have been warped towards the fantastical, with most people adding more and more wondrous elements to it with each telling. In this spirit, this is a story that any son or daughter of a shipsman has heard, at least once. The tale of "The Miracle Vessel".
Though extensive research on Alinian myths, we bring you the earliest version we could find of it:

A many long years ago, a mercantile ship went to cross the vast seas to reach the its capital. On the way there, the vessel was abruptly thrown into a massive storm, one like very few others. The winds were so sharp they ripped through the sails themselves, and the waves grew so bloated they crushed the ship with every touch. In the short time it takes to say a prair, the assaulted ship sunk into the waters.

Part 2/3

A few unlucky survivors had found their way to a large piece of floating wreckage, thus prolonging their coming demise. Men, women and children floated aimlessly, lying on that wooden raft with no food, water, or energy to do anything but wait. One of them, a young girl, spent her nights and days pleading to the gods to save her from that suffering. After an especially devoted prair she opened her eyes, and she found herself somewhere was not where she was before.

She was now touching a surface that smooth and flat, White and stony. She laid on top of what seemed to be a large block of floating marble, with the ocean having turned milky white itself. A thick barrier of fog surrounded the peculiar vessel and on that platform, a robbed figure appeared to her. With a motherly tone it said "Here child, eat the fruits of the harvest. Their sweetness will surely serve your hungry body". It was then the young girl noticed that along the stony ground, several patches of fruit had grown.

Part 3/3

She had never seen fruit growing in such weird shapes, but her hunger quickly compelled her to devour all of it. With her strength, she lowered her head and bit down on the fruits, ripping them from their roots and swallowing down their fresh pulp. For days she had her fill, slowly gnawing through the juicy rations she had come across until on the 3rd day, the block of marble ran against the shore. The girl had been saved, but the hooded woman once more spoke to her, this time warning her to never again set foot on that beach.

That is the general end of this legend, and it reinforces the idea that the Lady Alina is merciful to those that seek her help. It also seems to endow the goddess with the ability to turn the world into an utopia, by covering it with her white mist. Interpretations of this story vary, but there's no arguing that it's one of the most famous miracles associated with Alina.
