“Ito-san, don’t be mean,” you sniffle as you stride over to your side of the room and begin applying copious bangles and pieces of costume jewelry.

“Mean nothing, Minami-san,” she growls as she walks past you to the lavatory door, “I wish you spent half as much time cleaning up your stuff as you clean yourself,”

“Hmph,” you make a noise and sit on the amount of things on your bed and take out your phone, might as well look up some info on this concert you’ve been asked to attend with her.

Quest Start

Looking down at your root beer float, you decide that it isn’t enough. For this situation you would much prefer something harder. Glancing up at Teal and Moe-chan, you wonder just what you did to deserve this potentially awkward social situation on your horizon.

“I love going to shows!” Moe-chan responds to Teal’s query as both of their eyes fall on you.

You are Mikage Chiba, second year highschool student fifteen years old, formerly you were the third woman to be the magical sailor guardian of love and justice known as Sailor Moon. Now that title belongs to your sister, who you support in secret from the shadows as the enigmatic hero known as Eclipse against dangerous enemies with ties to your parent’s past lives. These matters of course complicate your life, which grows ever more complicated by the day.

Additionally in your free time you are a Ganguro fashion enthusiast, and part of a small local fashion circle using the pseudonym of Miki. This and being Eclipse aren’t your only double identity, and that is what is complicating matters.

Nui Takeda, the leader of your fashion circle who calls herself Teal, is going to a show you are already going to because she blackmailed a student at school into divulging details about his own double life. Learning he was in a band, Nui pressed for more information and instead of a straight answer got an invite to the show with no further details because this boy was too embarrassed to just tell her outright.

The boy in question is named Daigo Endo, and he is the drummer in Yoshi Sakurada’s metal band called The Unrepentant Damned. Yoshi Sakurada is a guy you had a thing with back in middle school and you might have something with again in the future, but right now you are just friends and he invited you to his show after discovering a portion of one another’s secrets.

His manager is actually an undead thing, a former soldier from a dead civilization brought back to life as part of a plot to collect and spread negative emotions to yet known ends...who has approached Red Eyed Beast about her coming to see what their organization is all about!

And you were going to go to infiltrate their villainous ranks so you could help your sister and her court, who are the current Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshi.

“I mean, from the way Sakurada-san played in the gym, it's probably some kind of metal and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that scene,” Teal explains in an unusual lack of confidence, “Or what to make of Endo-kun being involved in that,”

She nods, unapologetically to her behavior so previously described to you.

“Yeah, who is this Endo guy anyway?” Moe-chan queries and flattens her menu against the table as you slowly pick apart your chocolate torte.

“Well,” she turns to Moe-chan first, “He works with me on the student council, and he’s been hiding something. I thought he was running guns for the Yakuza, but it turns out he’s just in a band. Did you hear about what happened at Juuban Central High yesterday?”

“Yeah, monster attack. People being controlled by spiders,” the powerlifting girl nods, apparently up on current affairs.

“Well, I was being controlled and attacked him,” the shorter girl sighs, “He knocked me out and the spider left me, but he felt guilty for hurting me so I used that to get him to tell me what he was up to,”

She turns to a waiter and orders a simple parfait. Moe chimes for a fruit tart.

“Anyway, all embarrassed he admits he plays in a band,” she continues her explanation, “And then Yoshi Sakurada knew that Endo had band stuff in his van and asked if his own guitar was still there. He says it was too embarrassing to explain, but asked if he could show me instead and invited me to a show. Didn’t say where, but he’d give me a ticket and a venue Friday night,”

She takes a deep breath as you set your own fork down and search for what you could do next.

“Then Sakurada-san busts out with that metal riff in the gymnasium and it made all the spiders flee,” she steeples her fingers and leans forward, “I know you and Sakurada-san used to be a an item in middle school, I know you’ve been talking to him again, and I think everyone heard what you said to him before he started playing,”

You take a long drag off of your float, finishing it off and settling the draw of your sweet tooth before smirking at Teal. It came to you, exactly how to play this. The best way out of her question is to admit to knowing something but not saying anything.

~But Teal, like why ruin the surprise,~ you giggle at this and finish up your torte with a smile just as her parfait and Moe-chan’s torte arrives at the table.

“Wait, you totally know!” she squeals, “You have to tell me something!”

~Nope,~ you shrug and dab your glossed lips with a napkin before making a small joke for yourself in all of this, ~Just think of how blue it would make Endo-kun if you found out early?~

“Noooooo,” the incredibly miniature young woman whines as though her height was truly indicative of her age, “Why are you holding out on me!”

Moe-chan, removed partially from these proceedings, laughs as she picks a glazed blueberry off of her tart with a fork. Her investment in this is superficial at best, so it’s just as well she has no strong feelings in favor of either of your positions.

~It would be rude of me to spill Endo-kun’s secret and steal his thunder,~ though you keep joking you say nothing about how the only reason you know is because you and Yoshi revealed great secrets to one another, ~And even if it isn’t really in the Ganguro scene I think you’ll have fun,~

“Fine,” she groans and lays her forehead against the table in defeat, “At least you’ll be coming with to see the likely shock on my face then,”

Teal stares up at the bubbly power lifter who is practically bouncing in her seat. Moe-chan doesn’t keep her Ganguro fashion or aspirations secret, but she is usually cognisant of Teal’s desires in that respect.

“Sure,” the miniature leader of fashionistas nods in a dismissive manner.

“So, this Endo-kun guy,” Moe-chan leans in over her tart toward Teal, “He sounds like he isn’t just one of your hook up crushes,”

“Ngh,” Teal sputters before sitting bolt upright, “Okay, don’t go there. Jade gave me grief too, but I’ve known him for a long time and I actually like him,”

~Mhmm,~ you hum with some pride of your own, ~Going butterfly pattern on her face was a snap decision after I made an amature mistake working on her eyes, but it really paid off well,~

Teal begins choking on her parfait.

~Hmmm?~ you question honestly, ~My little sister was with her entourage. You saw her again just yesterday when you burst in on us in the infirmary,~

Teal’s eyes widen, almost erasing the pale white makeup surrounding and shadowing her eyes. She begins trembling.

~It’s a funny story, I outed myself to the lot of them that night,~ you sigh and give up on scraping the bottom of your finished float, ~We watched that cute Hero Rena movie while I did makeup,~

“Ah, so cool Miki. Know what, I really want to meet Kino-san again,” she nods, “The girl has a lot of talent and potential, if I could get her into powerlifting I might have a rival to help push me to the next level,”

Conversation circles for a while after that about consignment sales, brand labels, and the new spring makeup collection previews that came out. Eventually the three of you part ways, though Teal still mildly annoyed at you playing coy earlier.

At this point, it’s getting close to dinner time. What to do, what to do.

Wasting no time, you shoot a text off to Akiyama-san, saying who it’s from and when you’d like to take care of your fitting. Since you don’t have much going on until friday night you decide to take care of things tomorrow morning before she has class at Zodiac Academy.

That done, you decide to stay gloriously Ganguro and go about a few personal errands. Using your cipher power, you anonymously by a large amount of roses for your own purposes. Even managing to store them inside the Mantle of Eclipse for the short term. When you get home you’ll freeze most of them as your father suggested a few weeks back.

Enjoying a laugh, you cannot wait to use some of your spells which rely on roses to perform. Though, that might tip your sister off for sure as to who wears the dark mask and cape by her side…

~Then again, my little sis isn’t the most observant,~ you reason as you continue to strut around the western reaches of town near Infinity Academy.

Though, you pause in the street.

There is still one node of earth power that exists in the local area. The third place of personal power which you could check out right now.

Stepping back a bit and crouching, your heels dig into the soft dirt and grass beneath your feet. While your initial approach must have gone unnoticed in the mid evening among the few people still observing the gardens, now it most certainly would be. Creeping along the shadows you grant a wide arc around the tree and notice something amiss.

There are at least two lesser shadows patrolling the area, high up in the tree tops and sometimes skulking around on the ground. Had you gone directly up to the tree they may have seen you, but now you have the upper hand.

~That was almost totally careless of me,~ you sigh to yourself in the dark, ducking back as one of the glowing motes of light drifts by.

These two creatures are without much definition, crouched and moving but clearly like the lesser creatures you remembered seeing at Venus’s album drop. If you want to take them out, it should be quick work…

Oddly enough they go nowhere near the tree itself. As though they watch it from a distance and patrol.

Well, there is something calm and almost holy about this place...the chaos they are made of may not abide it.

Then what of the chaos in you? The pit inside of you that is passively hungry for the darkness in these things. You did just have chocolate and ice cream...would it really do to pig out right now?

Stealth dice are struggling today.

Whipping two roses wide, you watch as both of your attacks land quietly and true.

The first rose hits one of the creatures squarely in the back as you come to a stop, cape rising and curling behind you caught in your momentum. It staggers and falls, slowly dissipating into nothing. These kind of shadows, you remember, are projections from comatose infected. Wherever they are now, their senses will be restored as their inner selves return to balance.

Your second rose flies through the other shadows head, it doesn’t have time to dissipate as so much as it is forced to cease existing on impact. It quietly shatters, unaware of what even hit it.

That gives you a small swell of pride as you retrieve your undamaged rose, but a close call catches you as you nearly walk into the open. Flushing your back against a tree, you spy a third creatures loping about the perimeter. It too with little definition and roiling as severed negative emotions.

Unable to find its comrades, it begins moving away from the tree and into the dark.

Manga had a couple more dark turns. Destroying space-time is not good for anyone.

And the musical had and bitter good end for Demande, bitter as in the sole survivor of the clan, good as in he would later support the senshi against others threats.He returned to Nemesis in order to make it a beautiful place covered with flowers.


Hm, character notes for Esmeraude include her having "an alluring, booming voice". Wonder if she has ever considering taking up singing, could end better for her this time around.
