I think it might behoove us to ask Shikamaru about the village politics of pursuing a relationship with Kurotsuchi.

We just go up to him, mention we're interested in a girl, and she's probably interested in us, buuuut she's also the granddaughter of the Tsuchikage and has a Kekkei Genkai that isn't really restricted to a clan.

You wake up and eat a somber breakfast with your Uncle, Sasuke and his mother before leaving the Uchiha compound. It isn't raining, but the sky is overcast. A similarly dreary day to the last time you wore your funeral attire three years ago. You head to the site where the ceremony is taking place to see most of the village's ninja gathered. You see picture frames surrounded by flowers for all the victims of the attack. Nearly two hundred in all. Two of the frames in particular have the most offerings. The pictures of Fugaku Uchiha and Choza Akimichi, both the heads of their clan. Sasuke and his mother immediately make their way in the direction of Fugaku's picture. You see nearly every other Leaf ninja you know here as well. Choji and his teammates are with the rest of their clans near Choza's picture, as you'd expect. Most of the rest are just going around paying their respects to all the victims.

Near the podium set up at the front you see the Hokage sitting in a chair, Neji at his side. You can't imagine he's feeling very well, and he doesn't quite look it either. He must be forcing himself to attend.

You do notice some key people missing, most notably Kakashi Sensei. He must still be resting. Tsunade Sensei is also not here, so you assume she is still looking after patients.

You approach Sasuke and the rest of the Uchiha clan, but try not to intrude too much. As you hang back, you see Shizune holding Shizuka and approaching Fugaku's picture. The other clan members don't pay them too much mind, so they must still not know.

Sasuke payed his respects and is talking to several older clan members. You leave him to it, but after a while he starts to look uncomfortable. He looks around and sees you, then excuses himself to approach you.

"They all seem to have high hopes for me." Sasuke starts. "Though I could do without them constantly pegging me to surpass Itachi. They just keep talking about how great my father said I was."

"You'll do just fine." you assure him. "Don't let the pressure get to you."

"I know." Sasuke responds. "I already made my decision, after all. So Itachi wanted to know if we wanted a chance to speak. I turned it down, since I already spoke in front of the clan, and I'm not too keen on trying to come up with something to say in front of the whole village."

So, last thread we learned how to use Water release. There's a good chance we're incapable of using Fire, and we already have Lightning and Wind. If we want to make an excuse to see Kurotsuchi, having her tutor us in fire might be worthwhile.

Considering we have healing tricks and a damned awesome shield I have an idea for our ultimate technique.

Then Kon's chakra flow either stops or is reduced to a near still state one of these seals is released revitalizing him completely and healing any and all damage (including rebooting his heart) taken. These Seals can be recharged by meditating to recover them.

I've said this before, but there's actually a fairly good chance that Kon might be Hokage someday. He's powerful, he's respected as a village hero, he's familiar with diplomatic work, he's the student of a previous Hokage and the trusted right-hand man of the current one. That's not a hard and fast rule. Certainly some bloodlines give increased chakra supplies, but others actually lead to lesser ones. The Hyuuga for example have normal chakra supplies and are just much more efficient with what they do have.

Okay, I actually just realized something that might make this less frustrating. Naruto's probably going to use the mask not to revive himself but to revive Minato and take the Yin half of Kurama in him. While this means we'll still have to fight a Tailed Beast-enhanced Naruto, it also means we'll get Minato's biting commentary about how much of a little shit his son is and that he regrets ever entrusting the future to him. "God, I should have just let Madara blow you up when you were a newborn, it would have saved us all a lot of suffering".

You nod, then Kankuro speaks up.

You head to Iruka Sensei and Anko's house and knock on the door. You wait a few moments, then the door opens. Genma is behind it.

"You need something, Kon?" he asks, fiddling with the toothpick in his mouth.

You tell him you're here to talk to Anko, and he lets you in.

You find her in the living room along with Iruka Sensei and Taiyaki. Genma's other two team members are at the edges of the room keeping an eye out.

"Well if it isn't Kon." Anko says as she notices you come in. "I hear you did nice work protecting the village. Good on you, kid. So did you need to see me for something?"

Before you respond to Anko, you make your way over to Taiyaki. The boy is almost two years old now, and his left eye is yellow like you remember the three tails', while his purple hair falls down in his face and covers his right. He's standing on his own, and jutting his hands around, grabbing hold of anything he get.

"Cute, huh?" Iruka laughs. "Not much of a talker, we barely get a peep out of him. But I'm sure he'll grow into it."

You turn back to Anko and take Kusanagi from your hip.

"I figure you could get better use out of this than me." you tell her. "I wanted to give it to you. It should obey someone with the snake contract."

Anko reaches out and grabs it, inspecting it with mild shock.

"This is Kusanagi..." she muses. "I saw Orochimaru use this sword quite often. I guess since he's gone, it needs a new owner. You really want me to have it?"

You nod, and Anko takes a stance and does a couple of practice swings opposite your direction.

"You can use it to protect Taiyaki." you suggest. "That's a much better use for it than it had before."

Anko looks at the sword a bit longer before putting it away.

"Thanks." Anko smiles. "I guess this is some kind of poetic justice, huh? Quite the gift, though. I don't think there's anything I could do to repay you."

You join everyone at the table and start eating.

"I'm going to be leaving on a mission tomorrow." you say. "Take care while I'm gone, Uncle."

He assures you that he will, and you turn to Sasuke.

"Sasuke, you better keep an eye on things here, while I'm gone." you insist jokingly.

"Of course." Sasuke replies. "I intend to stay here for a while until things get in order again."

After eating, you head up to bed to get a full night's sleep. Tomorrow, you head to the Stone yet again. This time you hope you'll be able to establish a lasting relation, and repair any damage that's been dealt.
