50 - Again, not a hook, unless the Bard (somehow) employs the party to get his/her voice back. Wasn't there some fey creature that steals voices?
53 - I kinda like the idea behind it, but it's a shame there's no intrinsic motivation to go there. Not much of a hook by itself.
56 - Beating it at chess would probably be a boring or frustrating game. The wizard himself could destroy it himself if it's just a machine. Maybe instead, the computer got bored with the game and moved to fielding a real army? That would make it actually worth investigation.

Random space wizards keep trying to kill Hitler, but you have to make sure the timeflow doesn't change.

Sentient swarms of rats and roaches embark on a reign of terror, pulling out people's intestines and possessing the empty shells by filling the still warm bodies.

Rats in human hosts attempt to lie, manipulate, and deceive the locals, attempting to spread despair and chaos. They live in sewers and seek to manipulate the surface above. As they feed on human refuse, they do not seek to completely destroy mankind, but they do prey on the most idiotic and delusional of mortals.

Roach hosts, although deceitful, mainly focus on more violent methods of treachery, stabbing people in the back. They envision a world filled with rotting corpses to feed upon.

There were a few threads a couple months back involving Tiamat becoming depressed for some reason (I think it was that her affections towards Bahamut went unreturned) so after trying and failing suicide enough times, she just kind of laid there and waited for some adventuring party to finally be able to pierce her natural defenses and end her existence. Her state had an effect on all the chromatic dragons in the realm, and the way some types coped with severe depression was threatening everything around them even more than usual, so the party is sent to find a way to kill her or cheer her up possibly by convincing Bahamut to give her the best dickings of her life.
