>CURRENT SOUL: OIHAN ALZADOR

A great feeling of gut wrenching guilt had now invaded your body making you slightly shiver and tremble in pure hatred against yourself and the vile Necrons.

As soon as the Voidship you were in reached the orbit of Telematha it had been meet with great salvos of enemy fire that under concentrated beams was able to render the mighty void shields of the spaceships completely useless. Onto some of the other Navy ships great quantities of Skin Flayers suddenly teleported and started to wreak havoc in unseen ways and manners as they completely crippled the morale and coordination of the troops and crew inside, besides that the Guardsmen and combat personnel that became able to reach an orbital transport and descend died as soon as they stepped a feet onto solid soil due to a strange orange mist that killed them in mere seconds but didn’t affected the own Necrons.

Unknowing this last details in an instant you sent two thousand loyal warriors to their deaths. Each one of those good men and women felt like a single grain of sand in your sore throat, you could stand killing some people by sending an unwise order but so many at once and in such a quick succession felt like a massive sandy rock lodged into your gut.

Wars are cruel and deadly, but that’s how they are supposed to be. What had killed all those men wasn’t war, but your own stupidity.

The Navy and all the reinforcements had come with all their force and now that they were so close it seemed that they would be all stopped before they could even descend and avenge the fallen Forge-world.
>>
>>45598117

Luckily for you the God-Emperor ‘s light seemed to have shinned in your direction. You were informed that liquid water turned that deadly mist into something completely harmless, the cartographers quickly added that there was a rock belt with a great proportion of ice based formations.

An idea immediately popped into your mind, pushing those ice composed rocks onto the planet below and creating a rain of solid ice, a great part of those rocks would melt on the atmospheric descent and the ones who didn’t would sooner or later become liquid as Telematha was a dry and hot planet.

You quickly reunited the Commander, Navigator and Magos of the ship you were in and created a communications link with the rest of the still surviving ships. With haste in your lips you explained them about pushing those rocks into the planet and found yourself with a mix of incredulity, accusations of heresy and a few ones that thought that it was a possibility. All of that conversation was happening with a sound only link for the rest of the guardsmen and navymen were trying to coordinate themselves and their meeting required to occupy the least bandwidth as possible yet suddenly someone with a power greater than theirs appeared, in front of everybody the image or holographic depiction of a heavily armored and high ranking Salamander Astartes appeared, he decided that the idea would be done and thus settled the dispute.

As everybody proceeds to leave the meeting and return to the crude situation they were in you were stopped by a General, it was Lisandrias, a greatly stemmed officer that you and this planet had the luck of having right now.

“I hope this plans of yours work but if you have the blessing of the Salamanders I think that you will be safe. Our minds are a better weapon than most of the gizmos that the mechanicus can craft. Good Lateral thinking Commissar Oihan.”

“Lateral thinking?” You said somewhat puzzled, not even noticing that in a somewhat rude manner you didn’t addressed him with the needed respect nor mentioned his title.

“Yes, the skill to create new plans from where there was nothing, to see the chance of victory even when the outcome is at its grimmest peak. According to the reports there are great deposits of water on the planet but they are all deep underwater; we could have used specialized troops and servitors to pump it out to the surface but with all those Xenos around it would have been a complete suicide, your plan is what might give us a chance of achieving victory. Well met, if there is anything at my hand that you want to ask do it now for we might not have the chance to speak again once the great battle begins.”

You still felt somewhat down for having sent all those men to suffer pointless deaths. If they at least died in combat they would have lost their lives in an honorable way but with your orders they simply died like dogs waiting to be neutered. Maybe you weren’t worth of guiding the Micerian Spitfires at all…

>”I want to be translated to a Team of Harakoni Warhawks. I think their combat doctrine and style suits me better.”
>”I want to combat next to you sire, that way the chance of speaking will never disappear.”
>”Thank you for your offer General but I am good right now. There is no change nor question that I want to make.”

”I want to combat next to you sire, that way the chance of speaking will never disappear.”

General Lissandrias was a tall man of muscular build, ample shoulders and a kind of attractive and charismatic face that only a good set of genes and a military and healthy lifestyle could create, even in his late fifties he was a pretty attractive looking male and his scars and wounds only further empowered his bold appearance. His grey eyes were cold but the rest of his face showed a burning ferocity, he gave you the impression of being able to go to hell and forth to achieve a victory or avenge a fallen friend.

"There is great truth in those words but I still don't know you enough to be sure of trusting you, there are traitors in every corner and my reports have told me that the cowardly Necrons are using human traitors as cannon fodder and possibly spies too. Show me your worth, show me that you truly want to see the victory of the Imperium in this glorious day!"

His voice was intimidating without being rough, he wasn't only a great leader but also a very successful orator and moral increaser, under his booming voice thousands of Guardsmen had parted and shot their lasguns in unison smiting all kind of enemies under the name of Humanity.
>>
>>45598864

He placed his tightly gloved hand over your robotic left shoulder and smiled when he felt the cold and strong steel alloys under your Commissar coat.

"I have talked with the Magii and the Gunners and we have come with an alternative way of doing part of your plan. You see several of the Ships are now stranded completely still or unable to control their direction due to having their navigation systems or their engines completely destroyed, so far we have been using them as bait or sentries. Since they still have their weaponry in a working state but they cannot ram the Ice-Meteors we will use one of the many derelict mining ships that float around to drill and cut the biggest Ice Meteors into smaller pieces, once done we will use a Nova Cannon of one of those crippled ships to detonate the bomb before it reaches the Meteor belt and thus send thousands of smaller rocks into the planet, this will inevitably destroy some of them and also send some of the ones that are made from rock or metal but that's a price we are willing to pay for. The primary problem is that the bigger meteors might act like a natural shield and unless they are cut down they will soak most if not all of the shockwave and render the entire operation into a moot catastrophic failure."
>>
>>45598888

You nodded as you mentally imagined all the process and the gargantuan explosion that would send all those rocks flying into the surface of Telematha. The General proceeded to walk to an undisclosed location and even if you didn't knew where he was striding into you proceeded to follow him to continue hearing his plan.

"So far we have localized thirty of those Mining Ships that might be in working condition. I want you to go with some of my Scions and enter inside one of those ships, activate its systems and proceed to turn the bigger Meteors into smaller more manageable rocks. Do you accept?"

>"I'm a Commissar, my duty is on the battlefield, I think that accompanying those Scions into such a mission is wasting my time and qualities. Sorry General but I have to politely reject."
>"It isn't as heroic as being on one of the ships that rams the biggest rocks but my experience has shown me that even the smallest actions can lead to great victories. Agreed General, I'll do it."

"It isn't as heroic as being on one of the ships that rams the biggest rocks but my experience has shown me that even the smallest actions can lead to great victories. Agreed General, I'll do it."

He nodded with a big ample smile on his face, he seemed to like receiving good news and people complying with him, being in a place of power such as a General of the Munitorium surely made him incredibly happy as there were little people that could say no to his orders and suggestions.

As he continued to walk he simply got one of his hands towards his left ear and muttered something under his breath, then nodded again and his smile increased even more.

"Alright, my Scions have been informed and they are already heading into the hangar. Head as soon as possible towards the 23th Hangar, my men will be eagerly awaiting you in front of the Aquila Lander, the instant they salute you they will temporally be your men. Show me how much of a good strategist and a leader can you be and I will in exchange reserve you a place among me as we retake this Forge-World in the name of the Imperium."

He then stopped and with his hands made the Aquila sing as he gently bowed down. After you answered him with the same show of respect you quickly strode into the aforementioned hangar while quickly checking your wargear and getting sure that there wasn't anything that you were forgetting.

As you reached the space-shuttle you were meet by a team of seven people, they were all clad in dark grey carapece armor except one of them that for one odd reason wore a jungle green coloured one. Among those Scions one of them was a female Enginseer that seemed to have spent ages working along them and pretty much looked alike with the only exceptional difference of having a Mars red hood covering her helmeted head and had less ammo on her pouches and more oddly shaped tools and gadgets. Another distinct member of that group was the pilot whose carapace armor was slightly different and whose wargear lacked the usual Hotshot Lasgun of the Storm-Troopers and had instead a couple of Laspistols under his armpits.

They were all lined in front of the vehicle as if they were awaiting an inspection, the instant they saw you they all gave you a military salute, even the Enginseer.

"Salute our new squad Leader!" Said the one who was first in the line and who seemed to be the moral leader of the group.

"I'm Commissar Oihan and under the orders of General Lissandrias I will command you in your mission. Have you been informed of what it entrails?"

"Yes we did Comissar! That is why Enginseer Naromius is today with us ma'am!"

Good, they were efficient and looked deadlier than any Guardsmen that you had ever been next to. You could get used to be the squad leader of such a tight knit group.

"Then lets get into the Aquila and let's head already into our destination coordinates. We will do the necessary introductions on our way."

The first one to enter became the Pilot who after activating the engines inside his cockpit became able to open the backdoor and give you all free access, you became the second one to enter and afterwards came the rest. As soon as the doors closed you felt the vibration of the engines and the roar of the exhausts as the ship started to elevate and proceeded to leave its hangar into the open void.
>>
>>45599806

"I already know about Enginseer Naromius. Introduce each other with a single name or nickname and indicate your role in the team and other useful skills." You said towards them, with the exception of the red hooded one they all looked alike to you.

"My name is Iyago. I am the most veteran of the team and I take the mantle of responsibility under any of our failures. In case any of the team is punished I want to be punished too for they all look upon me and if I fail as a guide I have to suffer for it. I can also offer tactical advice and survival tips." You looked at him and tried to find anything distinctive, at the end you did find a detail, his armor was the one who looked the most worn and he had a bionic leg from below his right knee albeit this was hard to see as the leg had a pretty realistic human shape and was also covered with the carapace armor.

"I was born with the name of Oneida, I don't like considering myself a good-shot or a markswoman but I can work my way with Sniper Rifles and long distance kills. I'm also a somewhat capable long distance runner and can scout any area pretty quickly, not that it will come of any use in this mission anyway..." She seemed like a pretty capable warrior but used to down herself, maybe her first years were way too hard for her and the constant punishment left her a mental scar that hasn't completely healed yet. Her only different feature was a tally mark on her left armguard next to a crudely drawn scope aim, if one of those tallies was for a dead enemy she was a very good shot indeed.
>>
>>45599825

"I'm Hephaestus. I...well I'm good at close combat and also maintaining my gear but I don't think that's a skill truly. I can only make emergency repairs at a very basic level, the Enginseer is the one that truly fixes machines and their spirits." He didn't seemed like a talker and his gear was indeed the one that looked the best taken care of, even more than the one that the Enginseer had for while they both were in good condition the one he had looked pristine and new from the care and cleaning that he did on them.

"Name's Lucie. I don't think I'm remarkable in any way. Just order and I will do Commissar." Well she had to be remarkable to have ended as a Scion, maybe she was pretty regular among her group but in comparison with Guardsmen she was still elite. Ironically her appearance was among the most remarkable ones as she was the one whose armor was jungle green color instead of dark grey, the reason of this could range between being a personal choice to an inventory mistake caused by the admninistratum but that mattered little to you.
>>
>>45599838

"I am Rosabel; I might not highlight myself to the point of becoming an excellent swordmaster or shooter but I know my way with words, I have managed to convince the enemy to surrender in more than one occasion only to afterwards torture the truth out of him and get an intel that gave us a well deserved victory. In case there is any kind of negotiation taking place I please ask you to consider using me as the mediator." She was slightly taller and lither than the rest of his squad and also had more purity seals than the rest being one in each of her weapons and at least four on her armor and helmet as well.

The last one was the pilot who answered using the Intercom.

"Pilot Klaus speaking, I can offer support fire and a quick extraction if ordered, under my wings I can assure you a swift retreat or advance towards enemy lines. We will also reach our destination in ETA minus five minutes."

"Naromius right? Why don't you along Hephaestus study and see the state of my Bolt Pistol and Power-fist? We already know that the enemy has already transported troops inside Spacecraft and if that happens I want it to be completely operational to better ensure the destruction of our enemies."

Even if you were seated and had a tight safety belt across your chest you managed to remove your weapons and remove their Bolt Magazine and Power Source before handling them. You could feel all their eyes locking on your artificial arm as you removed the Power-Fist and to further show them how augmented you were you also removed your left glove and revealed them that both arms were bionic.

The Enginseer got the Pistol while the Scion was handled the close combat weapon. Naromius seemed to be completely proud and willing to prove herself in such event but Hephaestus was a shaky wreck.

"Ma'am I just know how to better clean and oil weapons and at most repair small chips of damage...this is completely out of my reach."
>>
Rolled 85 (1d100)

>>45600367

Very carefully he rejected the weapon and as best as he could he handled it towards Naromius who was completely overjoyed.

"Do it quick Enginseer, I want it ready before we land."

Maybe asking her to do such a delicate task under so little time wasn't the best of the ideas but it would also show you how would they endure under pressure. To your surprise the Enginseer looked at your weapons in most angles and using what seemed like a scanner installed on her lens she bathed the items under a neon green light and then handled them back to you.

"They are at a near optimal condition. Speaking in approximate terms and keeping with a good maintenance the Pistol will be able to shoot another two hundred times before it needs any real repairing. The Power-Fist isn't so good, it is still in a working status and will be able to smite any foe unlucky enough to be in its path but after only fifty uses its machine spirit might be way too broken for it to work."

You looked at your robotic hands and nodded. They were completely insensible and you couldn't feel pain on them, under the stress of war your construct limbs exerted way more strength than the human sized Power-fists could endure and under your use their useful life was greatly diminished. This quick study had reminded you of one similar that another Enginseer did to you, it was Heracor...a small and scared kid that wanted to travel across the stars... about twenty years later and you are now fighting on his native world and without any new from him. Honestly...you expected him to be dead for he surely would hate to see his beloved forges completely desecrated by the Necrons.

A small rumble took you out of your train of thoughts. The shuttle you were in had managed to land on the Mining Ship. It was now time to enter inside.

Even if the shuttle was landed nobody moved an inch. There were some preparation steps that had to be done before.

"Pilot, give me a full auspex and environmental analysis pronto."

"Aye Commissar!" Answered Klaus immediately.

The lights of the interior of the transport flickered for a second as most the entire power output was redirected to the potent auspex and external analyzers that were in the exterior of the Lander. After some tense seconds we were given an answer.

"There is a hull breach that has removed most if not all of the atmospheric environment. For unknown reasons not all of the sealing protocols activated and thus there are few areas that still contain breathable air levels on its interior. Maybe Naromius could wirelessly connect with the ship's systems, seal the breach and pump some of the emergency reserves of Oxygen to create a thin yet breathable atmosphere?"

"I can do that yes, if you agree of course."

"Do it Enginseer. Meanwhile, is there any equipment here suited for open zero gravity environments?"

"Y-yes! There is a voidsuit that you could wear under your coat and armor!" Answered Hephaestus with haste before the Enginseer became able to stand up from her seat to start working. Hephaestus was still feeling somewhat ashamed of not being able to help you with the last task that you asked him and he was thus working extra hard to please you. He quickly removed his seat belt and proceeded to take it from under his seat.
>>
>>45601256

Meanwhile the rest started to touch some small circular valves that were on their wrists, ankles, torso, limbs and neck. With a great hissing sound the suit that was under their carapace armor started to remove all the air until they became completely skin-tight and sealed, in an instant they all were ready for operating in the void.

You all were warriors of humanity, you defended the superiority of your race and genes above any other race that dared to rise from the mud in this galaxy that was by birthright human. You removed your seat-belt and stood up to strip down completely and proceed to get the into the newly acquired voidsuit, your clunky and not completely human shaped bionic arms had some trouble to enter into their respective sleeves but at the end you managed to do so and got on top of that your trusty chalky white ceramite armor along with your longcoat and crimson sash. Sadly with your new and necessary breathing helmet you couldn't wear your hat at all.

"The interior is sealed but the recovering of the air will take several minutes." Said the Enginseer after a couple of minutes of hard work with a cogitator that was installed on her left arm.

"We should leave the Lander now that we all have void capable armor. We will be able to remove our helmets in a while."

"Open the back door pilot and await us here. Keep a channel open at all times."

Without a word he gave you all the green light and opened the door, when you all were onto the floor he flashed the lights of the shuttle twice as a way of saying goodbye and turned the transport's systems to a minimum to save in promethium, energy and also become harder to detect.

The interior of the ship was a mess, there were great pallets of cut rock and several carts filled with unrefined lying around, when the breach happened the pull that the vacuum created was so big that it ended becoming able to pull down such big and heavy objects. There were some bodies lying in what seemed the distance. Before doing any act you needed to do teams, even if this was a comparatively small ship with such a few persons inspecting the ship entirely could take weeks and thus with teams that process could be accelerated slightly. Since there are seven persons counting you would have to make one team of three persons and two teams of two.

"I will go with Hephaestus and Lucy. The second team will be composed by Iyago and Rosabel and the third one by Oneida and Naromius. We will each explore in one direction to cover more distance. Naromius have you been able to download a map of the ship?"

"Yes ma'am but some parts are obscured. It seems that the owner of the ship didn't wanted to let the rest of the workers to know where the shortcuts and hidden warehouses full of the valuable jewels and precious metals where in a possible fear of being robbed."

"Try to work on clearing those hidden parts. Each one of you has a small Directioner right?" You said.

"Correct." Answered Rosabel. "Also known as Global Positioning System or GPS." She ended adding, it seemed that she had the need to look cultured among his peers.

"I'm sending the map to all your GP...Directioners." Said the Enginseer. The term that you used was mostly slang used by non-technologically cultured people but after spending so much time with Fire-in-the-Skin and Guardsmen of poor background that name ended getting on your lisp and lexicon until it became something common for you.

About a minute later everybody had the map on itself. It was all ready to go.

"Maintain the communication link and avoid using private channels that might bloat and saturate the bandwidth. Stay next to your partners and maintain a constant level of alarm and paranoia for those can be a better armor than the strongest of the adamantiums. Ave Imperator." Were your inspiring words.

Rolled 2 (1d2)

Sorry guys but even if I have ended with exams and such I still have classes to attend so my sleep schedule is pretty important. It's almost midnight here and I'm pretty tired.

As usual 30 minutes for questions and such. Tomorrow we will continue controlling Oihan and after her we will control a completely new character Woooo!

Since the 10 minutes for voting have ended and there isn't any winning option I'll do a dice roll:

Alright going to sleep in no time. Next thread tomorrow at the same time. I know it is a bad time for some of you guys but I simply cannot run at different hours.

Since we are now using different characters I will also create a timeline to make it have more sense. If you guys get confused at any time you can always ask and I'll answer as soon as possible.

Thanks for playing!
