I don't know about this.
KND has a lot in common with this, but they never made the mistake of demonizing parents by making them automatically the bad guys. In fact, most adults were pretty cool guys, and operative's parents tended to be, while embarassing to their kids, truly invested in their kids' safety, wellbeing and future. Evil adults were a minority.
In a setting like this, I imagine that parents are the seen-it-all I-remember-when-I-was-your-age old master types who encourage their PC sons and daughters to keep fighting the good fight.

Having a PC's child along for the ride would obviously be out of the question, though. The whole setting is about reviving your inner child - having an actual child along would be god mode.

I like the idea of the tossed-aside and neglected toys being the corrupted ones. Maybe that's why the army sort of failed and it's up to the PCs? They tried to contract the 'best' and most shiny producers in China but there was no love or care in those, so they were weak.

Toys that were either handmade with care or toys that spent their time through someone's entire childhood (you know, the one you always came back to) are the most powerful. Toys that are both are things of legend. Also good reason why you can't just mass produce monster-killers for an easy way out of the crisis.

Dreams based upon hopes are the strongest when faced alone, but the support of allies and the use of environment can tip the scales.

Dreams built upon cursing the world are fought with toys filled with positive emotions. But if you are so much as apathetic from constant fighting, you will find that maybe bringing a gun would have helped.

No, a clique is really just any social group of people, or group of similar objects in a more general sense. In graph theory, for example, a clique is a set of vertices that are all connected to one another.

They're demons anon, they want to eat your face. Most of them anyway, there might be one that's "good" due to some kid's dream/wish. A horror that was spawned by a dream for their to be peace between the two races. That turns out to be just as bad as any other dream horror.

Or it could be like POW in CoC, important to everyone, but a bit more important for some characters than others.

An example is that a Toy Soldier doesn't need to Imagine his/her weapons, as Nerf Guns are pretty straightforward. An Imagimancer however, needs to be able to visualize what is going to happen and believe it will happen.

Obviously having low-Imagination can make it hard to use even something like a Nerf gun, but too high? You start to lose touch, start to retreat into "your own little world". That sort of thing.

Shouldn't be something that hurts at moderate levels of Imagination, but you get the idea.
